Church theory evolves to allow Darwin back into the congregation
The Church of England has launched a new mission to bring Charles Darwin, whose theory of evolution set science and religion at loggerheads, back into the fold.
A new page paying tribute to the "forgotten" work of Darwin in his local parish of Downe in Kent has been published on the Church of England's website to illustrate how science and Church need not be at odds and can work together.
The page is one of a number the Church has built to celebrate Darwin's "significant scientific progress" to mark the bicentenary of his birth and also the 150th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin of Species in November....

I guess I was wrong about Darwin not being an Anglican. I just got through doing some further research on the religious affiliation of Darwin and it stated that Darwin was Baptized as an infant in the Anglican Church but that his mother took him to the Unitarian Church as well. It also stated that Darwin's funeral was held at Westminster Abby.
An interesting article from Institute of Creation Research, ]]Darwin's Dangerous Doctrine, One might say "&tc." since this link will lead you to other articles about Charles D.

"...in fact the Anglican Church as a whole never condemned Darwin or his beliefs....The Church of England says that, although Darwin lost his own personal Christian faith, he did not become anti-church or anti-religious,..." as the article pointed, he was just the typical Mainline Church member!
