Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee warned supporters Tuesday that the $828 billion stimulus package is ‚Äúanti-religious.‚ÄĚ
In an e-mail that was also posted on his blog ahead of the Senate‚Äôs passage, Huckabee wrote: ‚ÄúThe dust is settling on the ‚Äėbipartisan‚Äô stimulus bill and one thing is clear: It is anti-religious.‚ÄĚ
The former Republican presidential candidate pointed to a provision in both the House and Senate versions banning higher education funds in the bill from being used on a ‚Äúschool or department of divinity.‚ÄĚ
‚ÄúYou would think the ACLU drafted this bill,‚ÄĚ Huckabee said. ‚ÄúFor all of the talk about bipartisanship, this Congress is blatantly liberal.‚ÄĚ...
Jim, I thought that was what everyone wanted. To mix the 'sacred with the secular'. To have more religion in America thru government. That was how Bush go into office the first time. Maybe I'm confused....
This is what turned me off about Huckabee for President, his mixing of the secular with the sacred, ]]Rendering To Caesar: A Biblical Perspective On Government. Does this mean he think money should also be given to Catholic, Buddhist, Mormon, and Muslim schools as well? I see some reasons why God didn't pick him to be President.
Seriously, and I wanted Huckabee to President, probably a little of both. The bad thing is that when the nearly 9billion dollar stimulus gets passed it should be a one time emergency thing. What will end up happening next year when we get another monsterous 5billion dollar bill to pay, all the government shills will be bragging about nearly cutting the spending in half.
