NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- They don't come much more conservative than Campbell Soup, but the iconic marketer is nonetheless standing fast against the American Family Association, which has taken issue with a print ad aimed at gays and lesbians the marketer ran in The Advocate.
The ad, a two-page spread for Swanson's broth, showcases the female proprietors of a Manhattan restaurant and a young boy basking over the warm hue of a box of Swanson's. The accompanying text identifies the women as a couple and the boy as their son.
On its website, the AFA has urged consumers to e-mail Campbell and demand they stop "pushing the gay agenda" and then call the Swanson division directly to ask that it "remain neutral in the culture war."...

I have always considered humility to be off-the-charts good, right, and noble; to the degree that I believe it to be the foundation of, and herald for virtually all of the godly attributes in men and women of faith. A wonderful example of it, Banned.

Thank you for your post here. I admit to that, and probably the only reason I'm not lashing out at people here who disagree with me is because I used to be just like them. I can remember when somebody on a forum was trying to say the same things to me that I am trying to say to others here, and I called him an antisemite and a few other words. He was a Catholic, so I blamed his wrong-headed beliefs on that as well. But later when I found out he was right, I sent him a note, a note to everybody else on the forum (it was a private yahoogroups forum) and admitted he had been right all along.
One thing about UK John, even though we disagree about some things, he is always pleasant and kind. I won't post with people who call me horrid names and accuse me of being a liar. That's just totally uncalled for, off-the-charts wrong.

Jessica, my wife seems to have similar problems with MSG & related compounds like hydrolyzed proteins (which are less concentrated forms of MSG that do not have to be labeled as such). We have a "1900 Rule" â if a food ingredient was unknown back then, it's best to avoid it, if possible.
Just to be clear, MSG as a cause of these problems is a working hypothesis, not a scientific fact.
Homemade soup is better for you! My son is highly allergic to MSG and has not been able to eat Campbell soup. The only one without MSG when he was growing up was the tomato. My son gets a migraine where all he can do it roll back and forth while he squeals in pain. And he would end up falling asleep on the floor in front of the toilet where he had been throwing up. Many companies it is said, use MSG to mask the flavour of lesser quality ingredients.
May God bless you all and may you be blessed with health, in your body, mind, and soul!

Jesus said that would be that way that it is...
"If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you;" (John 15:18-20)
There are unseen spiritual influences...
"...the god of this world hath BLINDED THE MINDS the minds of them which believe not, lest the LIGHT OF THE GLORIOUS GOSPEL of Christ, who is the image of God, should SHINE unto them". (Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:4)
Like every other in-it-for-profit corporation, Campbell's Soup could give a flip about Christian ethics and Biblical morality. They see a niche market and are going hard after it -- for the money, of course.
Here's a telling line from the article: "Misti Graham, president of the LGBT-specific agency MDG Marketing Group, said gay and lesbian marketing targets an estimated $690 BILLION niche of buying power, and a generally affluent, educated and exceedingly brand-loyal consumer audience."
These marketers for Campbell's don't endorse the LGBT ethic outright, but by targeting this group with favorable, stroking advertisements, they DO add to the overall societal perception that the LGBT "lifestyle" is normal, legitimate, acceptable, and product worthy.
It's sad, but one of the MAJOR forces behind LGBT becoming mainstream is corporate America's pandering to their cause in the name of profit. Ethics and morality be damned.
And it's all done so innocently under the guise of promoting some "wholesome" soup for children.
