Atheists put up sign in Capitol building
OLYMPIA — A group of atheists and agnostics has placed a sign at the Capitol building that says, in part: "Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds."

The sign, sponsored by the Madison, Wisc.-based Freedom From Religion Foundation, is in part a reaction to a Nativity scene put up in the Capitol by a private citizen.

"Non-believers are a part of the fabric of America and we claim our place at the table to exercise free speech and freedom of religion, which includes freedom from religion," said Dan Barker, 59, the foundation co-president who came from Madison for the sign's unveiling.

The foundation's sign is the latest round in what's become sort of an annual winter tradition: debating what are appropriate religious symbols to put up in the public square. ...

Of course I know that I can't prove God doesn't exist, but you can't prove that there isn't an invisible unicorn controlling your destiny with the magical touch of his horn, now can you? But you don't believe in that. Why choose to believe in something just because I can't prove it doesn't exist? And thank you, you have the right to be wrong also.

So if you think that I'm crazy for not believing in a cosmic jewish zombie whose father loves you but will send you into eternal fire if you do something he doesn't like, then maybe you should rethink your opinion.

Greeting Tommy, I just want to inform you that Atheism is your religion. Actually it's just another denomination of Satanism. Have a nice, successful day! Cheers

I find it interesting that the atheists' sign uses the phrase "hardens the heart". Isn't that a Biblical phrase?

If there were no God, there would be no atheists!
Because there is a God, there are atheists! Praise the Lord! May His Name be magnified.

Dear Banned in Boston,

That was a great link and an eye opener. So is America the new Roman Empire? Unless I am mistaken, the end times involve the Roman Empire, and I must look into this for further study. Thanks again.

Romans Chapter 1 explains all of those idols, they worship the creature instead of the Creator, we are Christians and they are anti-christians, that is their agenda, that agenda is being legislated in the courts, and their lifestyle and hatred of Christ is prophesied of. Whatever forms they concoct to worship instead of God, the result is always the same. I believe God and I know that God is fulfilling His Word. I pray so hard for Christian men and women to keep confessing the faith, and to grasp the holiness and blessed eternal love, the eternal life that is provided for us in our Lord Jesus Christ. Behind those idols and image worship is the devil, the devil has deceived them, and those who continue to pervert or reject the Word in order to worship atheistic or idol images will end up in the lake of fire with the beast and the false prophet unless God brings them to repentance. The fact is we know the Victor is Jesus, and we who are on the Lord's side have that victory, our Lord and Master Jesus Christ lives and reigns, and has crushed that demoniacal pride and rebellion at Calvary. At Calvary, our Lord bore the wrath of our sins and crushed the head of the devil. Do not despair, pray...the Bible records many idol worshippers who were converted to worship our living Lord.

Why would they complain about these things? They are anti-God, not anti-gods

These atheists complain about a cardboard cresche at Christmas but care not a bit about the paintings all over the ceiling of the Rotunda of pagan gods, the statues of dragons and serpents, the statue of Diana erected on the top of the Capitol Building, or the Egtyptian obelisk aka the Washington Monument representing the phallis of Osiris.

They don't mind the billions of dollars spent to lay out hte streets and buildings in the shape of pentagrams and picking certain lay lines to build them on in order to pull down the powers of the Luciferian spirits.

Washington DC is loaded with statues and monuments directed to Satan and the Luciferian, Freemasonic gods and goddesses (Satan being bisexual even the female godesses still represent him) --

But don't put up a $20 cardboard cresche.

The elites are more religious than anybody but they want the populace to be atheist. Too bad these protestors don't take their complaints a bit future, lift their eyes to the Rotunda ceiling and look around a bit.

The movie the Matrix tells the truth about living in an illusion.

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but spiritual, mighty through the power of our Lord God for the pulling down of strongholds, every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God..and of course our Lord is greater than all the spiritual wickedness in high places. These are times of testing and while the love of many is going to wax cold, we just stay true to the Word. Praise God for sermon audio and good sound doctrinal preaching! Praise God for the Truth of His holy Word...which of course all those atheists and apostates spurn and in so mocking, they only prove God's Word true! Our Lord God is in control and greater is He Who is in us than he that is in this world. May our dear Lord bless you all.

The biggest problem I have with atheists is there diminished sense of shame, resulting in their cavalier attitudes and frequent use of foul language (which is understandable when you don't believe there is a god watching you, you tend to think you can get away with much more than those who do believe in God).

Thankfully, their "pamphlet" which they displayed next to the cresh and the menora was at least clean, but it still attacked the other two symols by its message, which was totally uncivil.

Problem here is that atheists lack the kind of universal symbols that other religions have to communicate their position.

When I think of atheists I think of atoms or galaxies. Maybe they should adopt one or more of these and identify themselves with it so they can have a valid symbol of their beliefs without having to keep articulating them all the time.

1 Cor 4:7 For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

1 Cor 1:26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.

Putting others down for their ignorance to God's revelation is in effect "boasting".

Atheist Barker as well as all atheists are mentally deranged and psychotic to stae that freedom of religion includes freedom from religion. Atheists are also mentally deranged and psychotic as well as being unable to think logically and analytically because logic dictates that there is a God governing the universe.
