Americans on both sides pray ahead of Election Day
They're fasting on the steps of the Florida Capitol, hoping God will hear their pleas to put an abortion opponent in the White House.

Prayer warriors will staff the get-out-the-vote command center Tuesday at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Fort Washington, Md. A rabbi is distributing a prayer to be said in the voting booth. Prayer circles are seeking courage and protection for Barack Obama and his family.

The faithful are busy as Nov. 4 nears.

We shall see.

What about two to three new Supreme Court justices that Obama may get to pick, who WILL be pro murder.

Some of you people are truly amazing!
And, if I may add, the biggest deterrent to legal abortions made by President Bush was his appointments of John Roberts and Samuel Alito as Supreme Court Justices. Both men are strict Constitutionalists, and believe in the sanctity of life, personally.

The appointment of these men is far more significant than that of a one or two term President.

The only commands Jesus left for the 11 in Acts 1 were: don't leave Jerusalem, and wait for the Holy Spirit to come upon them. Nothing about choosing another for their ranks. Peter, apparently being Peter yet, and prior to the Holy Spirit's filling, decides to help God out by drawing lots to choose the 12th
Apostle. But is it not Jesus who chooses these? He directly chose the 11, and He later directly chooses Paul. NOW there are the 12 chosen by Him, but one chosen by lot, one who disappears from Scripture after his selection.

Though there be no comment on Peter's decision, one can't help but wonder if choosing to gamble by using the luck of the draw was really God's way at all.

A Democratic Conservative - TOTALLY OUT OF CONTEXT!

And, there is no mention of Matthias after that event, so was God really in the casting of lots? - NO! It is Paul who is numbered among the 12, not Matthias. And furthermore, the Holy Spirit guides into all truth, which leaves no place for Jewish customs, or the world's attempt at making a decision ( I know, I know, your friend prayed first. But God is a Spirit, and he speaks to his own). God's Word is plain; if blood is shed, blood is required, otherwise the land is defiled.

And to the intelligent one who reminded us that Bush didn't stop abortion and such - you need to learn your government. He can't just make an edict. But what Bush did do is not carry the issues to push them further. And he did come out against cloning, and embryonic stem cell research.

FLIP A COIN ! :

As usual you are dead wrong and taking scripture out of context is not the way to go. You are talking about two people who loved God and He chose between them whom HE wanted to go with the disciples. Osama is not a christian--in fact he called Jesus a liar, he wants babies murdered and gays to marry--doubt God chose this man to carry out His Good work, more likely a punishment if anything for all of our sins against him as a nation.

GOD'S WORD Says:

"Wherefore of these (two) men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

And they appointed TWO, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these TWO THOU HAST CHOSEN,

That HE may TAKE PART IN THIS MINISTRY and APOSTLESHIP, from which JUDAS by TRANSGRESSION fell, that HE might go to HIS OWN PLACE.

And THEY gave forth THEIR LOTS; and The LOT Fell Upon MATTHIAS; and HE was NUMBERED with The ELEVEN APOSTLES. Acts 1:21-26

Undecided? Inexcusable!

"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."

Someone on another thread said something to the effect that, "How can you trust a man who has no sympathy for an aborted child?" You'll find no compassion there!

HOW ON EARTH can a true believer not know who to vote for...a baby murderer? SICK!! God will judge you!
The result of this election is the fault of the Church - end of story!
What part didn't you understand? God has spoken. This man could not have been elected outside of the control of God.

The Baby killer label is old. How many babies have been spared under Bush? How many would have been spared under McCain. Was gay marriage halted under Bush? The vice-president openly welcomed gays into the administration, including his daughtor.
How about caring for the poor, not shedding innocent blood, greed. God is against those things as well.

Prayer for your leaders as God has instructed to do.

“When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, “just men who will rule in the fear of God.” The preservation of government depends on the faithful discharge of this duty; if the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the laws; the public revenues will be sqandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizens will be violated or disregarded. If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws.” — Noah Webster, History of the United States (New Haven: Durrie & Peck, 1832), pp. 336-337, 49.
