BBC boss: Yes we are biased towards Islam
Mark Thompson claimed that because Muslims are a religious minority in Britain and also often from ethnic minorities, their faith should be given different coverage to that of more established groups.

His comments come after the comedian Ben Elton accused the BBC of being scared of making jokes about Islam, while Hindus have claimed it favours Muslims over other religions.

"However Thompson's admission was met with derision by Christian and media groups.
Stephen Green, director of Christian Voice, said: 'Mr Thompson seems to be saying that because Islam is a minority religion it should be treated with kid gloves.
'This is ridiculous. All religions should be treated with equally and with the same approach. I think the reality is that the BBC treats coverage of Islam and Muslims differently because it is terrified of offending them. It is political correctness. The BBC is simply not bothered about offending Christians despite the majority of this country being of that faith.'"
(Dail Mail)

Thus if one is to be treated differently (and Thompson admits to that much) is this not a symptom of bias in the BBC?

Pikestaff,

You miss the point entirely.

Let the actual evidence for BBC bias in favour of, and promoting, Islam be examined without falsely putting words into the mouth of Mark Thompson.

If Mark Thompson wished to state what Sermonaudio are claiming he stated he is more than capable of expressing that for himself.

My concern is for, i.e. towards and in support of, Sermonaudio and Steven Lee. Not the BBC. Mark Thompson can speak for himself.

I think my original message pointed out that the BBC and many in Britain may be biased towards Islam, but even more importantly many in the news and education fields, use this and other subtle techniques to be antisemitic.

1] By your logic you also are therefore biased "towards" Islam?

2] It may also very well be that the BBC actually is biased towards Islam.

3] In the light of the 9th commandment I again ask Sermonaudio where they have found express support for the statement that they have put into the mouth of Mark Thompson?

I'm still worried about your "bias" towards Liberalism and its exponents.

1] Nope!!

2] It is blatantly obvious where the BBC's bias lies. Can't you see that?

3] The info you seek is in the article and in the Daily Mail's report on what the BBC's own words make manifest.

You may not accept they are bias towards Islam and anti-Christian, BUT apparently the BBC itself does.

Illustrates a bias towards a different treatment to the muslims.
Pikestaff,

"Different" does not mean "towards" but I note your very careful rephrase.

Sermonaudio treat Islam differently than they do Christianity.
By SA's logic they also are therefore biased "towards" Islam?

Now, it may very well be your opinion, the Daily Mail's opinion and Steven Lee's opinion that the BBC is biased towards Islam.
It may also very well be that the BBC actually is biased towards Islam.
That is not the matter in dispute here.
Let the actual evidence for that be examined without falsely putting words into the mouth of Mark Thompson.

It is simply NOT TRUE that Mark Thompson has said any such thing as:-
"BBC boss: Yes we are biased towards Islam".

The Bible says:
"Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour"

In the light of the 9th commandment I again ask Sermonaudio where they have found express support for the statement that they have put into the mouth of Mark Thompson?

Illustrates a bias towards a different treatment to the muslims.

But the BBC run by homosexuals, by its own admission, is bias towards atheism, alternative lifestyles and anything that is against Christian teachings. Which we must expect and acknowledge in worldly organisations like the media.

"At the secret meeting in London last month, which was hosted by veteran broadcaster Sue Lawley, BBC executives admitted the corporation is dominated by homosexuals and people from ethnic minorities, deliberately promotes multiculturalism, is anti-American, anti-countryside and more sensitive to the feelings of Muslims than Christians." That is utterly shocking. These people should read Matthew 10:28

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

The media in general know that Christianity is a soft target that can be attacked with impunity. One preposterous BBC drama production (Bonekickers) recently portrayed a Christian fanatic beheading a peaceful Muslim, generating a multitude of complaints from the public. The BBC defiantly defended their decision to show it

Dear Sermonaudio.com

"BBC boss: Yes we are biased towards Islam"

I have read the article that is cross-referenced and see that either you have made an editorial change to the headline for your piece or the title of the original Telegtaph piece has now been corrected.

In the light of the 9th commandment, please may I ask where - precisely - you found express support for your assertion "BBC boss: Yes we are biased towards Islam"?
