Pastor Hagee apologizes for anti-Catholic remarks
WASHINGTON (AP) - John Hagee, an influential Texas televangelist who endorsed John McCain, apologized to Catholics Tuesday for his stinging criticism of the Roman Catholic Church and for having "emphasized the darkest chapters in the history of Catholic and Protestant relations with the Jews."

Hagee's support for McCain has drawn cries of outrage from some Catholic leaders who have called on McCain to reject Hagee's endorsement. The likely Republican nominee has said he does not agree with some of Hagee's past comments, but did not reject his support.

In a letter to William Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Civil and Religious Rights, Hagee wrote: "Out of a desire to advance a greater unity among Catholics and evangelicals in promoting the common good, I want to express my deep regret for any comments that Catholics have found hurtful." ...

"Tony, the KKK, never bothered the Roman Catholic Church in the South..."

This is patently false, the Klan, being a Fundamentalist organization of the highest order, a defender of the Reformation and a bulwark (Bull is the key word here!) against minority rights vis a vie the rights of 'White America', was and still is as full of men of Jim's stripe as it ever was. People who beat up defenseless black people are not likely to tolerate religious diversity. Not so strangely, neither can Jim.

In the article about Lincoln there was an error. It stated that John Wilkes Booth was Catholic. That is patently false. Booth was Baptized and Confirmed in the Episcopal Church.

I personally do not listen to John Hagee. However, I do have a couple of friends who do and are clearly listening to him about the dangers of islam. Where is this information about Hagee stating, 'Jesus never claimed to be the Messiah' They need to know this and I need to show them the truth.

What's bad is, his recanting of his statements is probably a lie. He still believes that Rome is the whore of Babylon, but is "to entangled with the affairs of this life" to stand strong.
Hagee does not believe that the RCC is the Whore Of Babylon mentioned in the Book Of Revelation. On his web site Hagee mentions that he does not believe that the RCC is the Whore Of Babylon mentioned in the Book Of Revelation but is individuals from all denominations who have gone into apostasy. Also Hagee mentions that for over 10 years he sponsored a convent and its nuns and that when those nuns retired he had a celebration at his church celebrating as he stated "those nuns lifelong service to God".

I never liked Hagee. He was another of those stand-up comedians, at least in his younger days. This is the church age, and there is only one way to salvation, and that is believing in Jesus Christ as He is manifested in the Church--Does God Have a Future for Israel?: A Study of Romans 11, and of course he does.

Gil Rugh wrote:
we must understand that some of God's purposes are
established and unchanging. This is certainly true of His plans for
Israel. This is important because the age we live in, the Church age,
is characterized by Gentile salvation. Though some Jews have come
to Christ, it is mostly Gentiles who are being saved. This era of Gentile
salvation, however, does not mean God is done with Israel. As
Romans 11 will show, after God has completed His program with
the Gentiles, He will resume and complete His program with Israel.
Rarely is there a reason to apologize to the RCC all that Hagee is doing is, Reversing the Reformation.

Hagee is a sell out, I use to like him too. Not only is he wrong about things he also supports benny h. I also know that catholic's need to hear the truth no matter how harsh of a reality it is, Jesus wasn't apologizing for what He said about or to lost religious people. People, we live in the last church age where you can't say any truth without offending people. I love the harsh truths of the bible, even when they are pointed right at me. We are compromising the Word of GOD, so that we don't get hurt or hurt anyone else. I would rather be hated then to sit around pleasing everyone and letting them burn in hell, now isn't that reality.

Presidents Bush (1&2) were/are NOT Real Christians:

They are Political & Religious Fascists/NAZI Descendants of One of the BIGGEST Financiers to Hitler's Third Reich: U.S. Republican (Seig-Heil) Senator Prescott Bush!

What gets me is How Stupidly BJU fell for the BUSH-Skull&Bones-Republican Bait in 1988 & 2000!

I guess this is what happens to a Christian Bible University that doesn't properly weed-out it's Overt/Covert Masonic members!

Old Methodist-Revivalist Bob Jones Sr. (The Founder of BJU) once Kicked-Out Ku-Klux-Klansmen who came, in hooded-regalia, to disrupt one of his "Brush-Arbor" Evangelistic Meetings; by
Shouting something like: "Either take off those stupid hoods, sit down, shut-up & Listen to The Word Of GOD: or GET OUT !

It's reported the Whole Congregation, numbering in the Thousands, began Shouting to The Klansmen something like: "Take of Your Hoods and Show Yourselves In The Light!"

The Ku-Klux-Klansmen left in a huff; threatening that they would come back later.......they never did!

Would to Almighty GOD that Bob Jones Jr. & Bob Jones III would've said The Same Thing to Bush 1 & 2:

"...Sit Down, Shut up & Listen to The Word of God: or Get Out!"

And Stephen Jones would say to McCain:

"Shut Up & GET OUT" !

I used to like John Hagee too. And this is just another thing that saddens me about the man.

Anyway to hear it in his own words check out Hagee's advertisement for his advertisement for his latest book on Youtube. If it is still the latest he will tell you how 'Jesus never claimed to be the Messiah' and sufficient for Christians to know he has seriously erred.

One must realize somewhere along the line that Pres. Bush is not a real Christian.Hagee is a confused Dispensationalist who just needs to sit down and shut up. The Catholic system is so embedded with idolatry that no Christian would or should be involved with it.Lastly, Israel has no business giving away its birthright.

Which Bush are you speaking of: GHW Bush (Bush#1) or GW Bush (Bush#2)?

BJU's BIGGEST Mistake in the 1980s was supporting, endorsing, voting-for & associating with "Skull and Bones" Bush#1 (& Bush#2 for that matter!) in the First Place.

Back in the early 1980s--1982/1983 to be exact--BJU lost its Federal tax-exempt status on account of its former policy on inter-racial marriage & dating. That is, its faculty & students were forbidden to inter-racially date and/or marry.

It was about this time that it was commonly reported/rumored that a Gorgonic Devil, Demon or Satan Himself physically appeared to BJU's President, Bob Jones III, telling him that BJU was going to be Destroyed--or something along that line.

The University ultimately being SAVED as A Private Instutuion of Higher Learning through the generosity of an Orthodox Jewish Philanthopist from California; who Bailed-Out BJU with a Million Dollars or so.

So, BJU retained their marriage/dating policy as a Private Institution; UNTIL it was LATER revoked during the 2000 Republican Presidential Campaign of GW BUSH (whom BJU endorsed).

Actually, Tony, you're correct about Hagee, The Other Gospel of John Hagee, and while one does have to ask, What Will Become of Israel?, Hagee, lacks that understanding and much about Christianity.

Mark M.: With all due respect sir, Mr. Hagee does not believe that Jews must come to God through Jesus Christ, and has made that position clear several times. As far as the Roman church having a history of anti-Semitism, I once again remind this forum of the history of Fundamentalist anti-Semitism in the USA prior to the rise of Dispensationalism as the preeminent flavor of American Fundamentalism. Being from Georgia, you might have heard of the Leo Frank lynching? Check the religious affiliation of the perpetrators. You won't find a Papist among them. But you'll find many "Bible believing, Fundamentalist Christians" with rope burns on their hands from their night of showing how "America should deal with Jew libertines", as the newspaper headlines of the time called it.

I like Hagee, and until now it always seemed to me that he was a real straight shooter. We don't have to agree with each other 100% of the time; as long as we do agree that there is no other way to God except through Jesus. Hagee believes that fact as we all should. I am not convinced that the Catholic Church will be the false church or that the Pope will be the anti-christ. I personally look at a combination of the new age movement and the Unitarian Church (your Oprahs, tree huggers, homosexuals and what not). In my pesonal view Catholics are just as Christian as any other denomanation with just as many silly man made rules as the Protestants. This does not give Hagee a pass however, he should stick to his guns. The statements that he made were of the anti-semetic history of the Roman Catholic Church. History does not change just because it is unpopular. The Roman Catholics throughout time have been against the Jews (WWII is just one glaring example). I still respect Hagee. I think he is an excellent Bible teacher. I even think that the modern Catholic Church can be a positive influence for Christ and that we should try to unite with real Chritians be they Catholic or Protestant, but we can never whitewash history and expect any good to come from it.

It just seems to me that if one is working so diligently to make a Palestinian state, and is pressuring Israel to give up the Golan Heights, and such, that in principal, he is aiding the Palestininans to gain land that is not theirs, hence giving Israels land away.
It's like Canadians squatting on Noth Dakota, and France coming in and telling us to give them the land. France would be giving our land away, in essence.

Either way, President Bush does not have a Biblical world view. BUT,"the Kings heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water, and he moveth it withersoever he wills."

God's people get the leaders they deserve.

Bush is technically a United Methodist, like Hillary Clinton.
George W. Bush
I haven't heard anything from him that is distinctively Reformed.

And Israel isn't *ours* to give away. It is a sovereign nation, not a colony, and should be treated like any other.
