Jewish Leader Calls Hagee 'Extremist'
NEW YORK (AP) - The leader of the largest branch of American Judaism said Wednesday that synagogues in the movement shouldn't work with the Rev. John Hagee, a Christian Zionist, calling him an "extremist" on Israeli policy who disparages other faiths.

Rabbi Eric Yoffie, president of the liberal Union for Reform Judaism, said Hagee and his group, Christians United For Israel, reject any Israeli land concessions to achieve peace with the Palestinians.

Reform Judaism supports creating a Palestinian state; Hagee sees a biblical mandate for the territory so End Times prophecy can be fulfilled. ...

Well! I suppose it is good in that the Catholic Church is not the Whore of Babylon, to be certain. After that, though, speaking of judgement, I am holding in reserve to not judge before the time: but that could be at any time for all I know. It is that time for a great many who are perishing in these earthquakes and such.

In a way, that's good news; for he would tend to bring discredit upon genuine critics of Catholicism.

Hagee has now apologized to the Roman Catholic Church:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080513/ap_on_el_pr/hagee_letter;_ylt=AqbZE45FcEX.YDfCx1DjuMCs0NUE

To the men and brethren in the Lord, we should not play the harlot by letting men to be ignorant of the antichristian papacy, when it is in our power to inform, even if in a mystery.

John Hagee suited himself in declaring that the Catholic Church was somehow the Whore of Babylon: now they say case closed, don't mention it, no problem.

Luke 16:9
"And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations."

The word of Jesus Christ here is rebuking the hypocrites who refuse to come out of the harlot form of practice: yet still, praise to the name of the Son of God when brothers do convert, and actually fully come out of it.

Which will it be?

Put Hagee in there with Ken Copeland, Ben Hinn, and Oral and Rich Roberts. They swing the their own sword (which is no Morning Star), and tag along with expansionist Zionism until they are able to spoil and conquer for themselves.

I recall a video series in '03 when Rich and Oral Roberts sat with Ken Copeland, and "prophesied" that the Iraq war invasion was for the cause of spreading the Gospel: I do not think that provoking men to sin is what the Lord mandates as a means of breaking up fallow ground.

As they cleave to a vain vision to rule over Jerusalem, let the saints abstain from bloodguilt, and be not burdened with the carnal means, and partakers of the divided end........

Walt, I have pointed out now, that Hagee, no matter of couple of good points that he has, is still not preaching the gospel accurately (you might say not at all), The Other Gospel of John Hagee. I have to agree with others about Christ's mission,
Matthew 10
34 Think not that I came to send peace on the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law:
36 and a man's foes [shall be] they of his own household.

Our mission as Christians is to teach and preach the light of God's Word. "You will know the truth and the truth will set you free." We are to reach out to a lost and dying world. The Holy Spirit will reveal the truth to people's hearts. I believe in speaking the truth in love.

Walt, if you agree with the statement that Christian Zionism is tranforming the "Prince of Peace" into a "Vengeful Warrior God," you need to read your Bible a little more. Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace and the Vengeful Warrior God that He is described as in Scripture. Read the Old Testament prophets (especially Isaiah and Zechariah) and just about any mention of the return of Christ in the New Testament (don't forget Revelation chapters 19 & 20!)Wrath is being stored up, and the God who said, "Vengence is Mine! I will repay!" will pour His wrath out at His appointed time. Christian Zionism did not invent this picture of God. God revealed Himself in this way in Scripture.

I'm afraid you think "Prince of Peace" means something other than the Biblical picture of our Lord and Savior.

I suspect Christian Zionism is founded on one of the biggest errors present among professing Christians today -- the idea that Christians are to bring about the Kingdom of God. We are only called to proclaim it and live as citizens of it. We are nowhere commanded to bring it into being. That is GOD'S work! And He will bring it to pass at the appointed time.

It be the married wife syndrome. By reason of many children (adherents), the married wife (of her sort) boasts herself against the woman destitute of children (though justified of God in her wisdom, she is). But we know what the Lord did speak concerning this thing:

Isaiah 54:1
"Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD."

These men put their trust in uncertain riches, and make flesh their armstrength, and trust in multitudes to appear just outwardly. Errors are bound in the system, and it will soon be impossible to tow the line of hypocrisy, for, the time will be upon us, and the children of unjustified wisdom will be dashed and overtaken as by a raging bear robbed of her whelps.

Michael see my message before
Michael Hranek's. The Other Gospel of John Hagee, Also did you mean White or Wright? If you meant Wright, one can serious doubt his Christianity, Obama's Minister of Hate. The United Church of Christ which minister Wright belongs to is such a liberal church, one could seriously doubt that this church or minister could be Christian.

Actually, TrueBlueJew you should have referenced this article, Middle Israel: Reform Judaism comes of age. The Reformed Jew is like mainline Christianity, completely separated from its biblical roots by secular culture. No wonder it is so marginalized in Israel.

Like Hagee, they are dabbling too much into politics, and Hagee has a want of knowledge in politics and Christianity.

Traditional Judaism has a saying for the three major branches of Judaism;

1. The Ultra-Orthodox (The Hasidim/Hasidic-Jews)

2. The Conservative (The Moderate Jews)

3. The Reformed (The Liberal Jews):

"The Crazy, The Hazy and The Lazy !"

In the case of the Reformed Jewish Leader, Rabbi Eric Yoffie, calling Rev. John Hagee an "Extremist"--

Traditional Judaism would say that the "Lazy" Rabbi Yoffie is calling the Rev. Hagee "Crazy".

But then, that's like Socialist/Communist Josef Stalin calling Capitalist/Conservative Sir. Winston Churchill "Crazy".............

The classical "Pot Calling The Kettle Black"!

But then again, What business does (a) Jewish "Pot" have in calling a Christian Kettle "Black"?--

Unless it's (a) Liberal/Hippie Jewish "Pot" wanting to get "Dried", "Rolled" and "Smoked" by a so-called "Crazy" "Black-'Christian'-Kettle". (No Obama Jokes appended please !)

[The above comment is strickly posted for purposes of humor: and is not intended to defame, disrespect or offend the religious sensabilities of Jews, Christians or Judeo-Christians--let alone Judaism, Christianity or Judeo-Christianity.]

You're getting off topic. Did you by any chance watch the clip on youtube.com? where John Hagee in his own words denies what God Himself has said in Scripture.

btw Is there something wrong with desiring for Jewish people to be treated right and especially for Jewish people hear of Jesus Christ and to repent of their rejection of their Messiah and come to faith in Him that they might be saved? The reason I say this is that none of us should ever allow the error of such a man as John Hagee justify anti-Semitism.

Romans 10
1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.

btw you might take notice that is was written by a formerly zealous anti-Christian who went so far as approving of the death of Christians such as Stephen who also wrote

1 Tim 1
15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

16 However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.

And further I believe it is wrong and sin against God for anyone to mistreat, lie about, murder, etc. the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Pray for them. Do all we can rightfully do for them to hear of their Messiah the Lord Jesus Christ that they might repent and be saved. Absolutely.

A friend recently sent me this link to youtube.com of an advertisement of John Hagee's latest book.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=ldmM8pCZkQM&feature=related

Hopefully I've enter this correctly.

Anyway, I am for Israel having their own state on the land God Himself promised to them. That said having seen the video clip of John Hagee in his own words pedaling his latest book and having phoned his ministry regarding the matter must conclude he is in serious error and 'treat' him as a false teacher to be avoided and warned of.

I see Mr. Hagee made a comment to this "Jewish Leader" he in effect is a leader in a group, that would be called "mainline" Christianity, if they were Christian. Hagee: We don't tell Israelis what to do

It some what like asking a United Church of Christ member to evaluate someone to the right of them in religion. Considering many Jews in Israel reject Reformed Judaism as being Jewish, does support Neil's comments.

With Hagee as a friend, though, you don't need too many enemies! THE OTHER GOSPEL OF JOHN HAGEE

What needs to be added, What Will Become of Israel?

I have trouble believing that even a "modernist" like Yoffie here is as intellectually shallow as this article's excerpts suggest. Maybe the AP reporter was on Valium or something.

To use a baseball analogy, only fair balls are worth trying to catch.
