Martin Luther King Jr.'s Niece Says Abortion is the New Civil Rights Cause
Memphis, TN (LifeNews.com) -- As Americans honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the fortieth anniversary of his assassination, his niece says abortion has become the civil rights cause of today. Dr. Alveda King , who has suffered from multiple abortions, says the destruction of human life is on par with the lack of civil rights of her uncle's generation.
In a speech at a church in downtown Memphis, King noted how her uncle was killed on this day in 1968.
But a short five years later the Supreme Court opened the floodgates to unlimited abortions in the Roe v. Wade decision -- one that King says has decimated the nation and the black community in particular....
I have heard that charge about Margaret Sanger from several independent sources, so I decided to check it out for myself. I'm about half-way through her autobiography, and I have yet to see a racist tendency. So far all I have read about is her fight for freedom of the press.
Did she develop her racist tendencies later in life, and I haven't come to that turning point yet?
Kudos to Ms. King! It's wonderful to have someone speaking for the black community who actually CARES about the black community.
Neil is exactly right. Abortion is nothing less than mass genocide and in its beginning was racially motivated. Darwin, evolution, survival of the fittest, get rid of the "unfit", social engineering, Nietsche, Nazi death camps, Stalin, etc., etc.
Ms. King is right about defending the weak. And if we're not doing that, we're not being obedient to the gospel of Jesus Christ and the very heart of God.
Martin Luther King Blvd & Niece: Planned Parenthood has a penchant for locating abortuaries in minority, especially African American, neighborhoods, which is one reason that Hispanics have surpassed blacks as America's most populous ethnic group, after 10 million black women have killed their children, with Planned Parenthood's cut of the business at a estimated $2,500 billion in 2008 dollars. Thus it is especially cruel to blacks that the proposed mill site is in Portland on NE Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Bill Diss has organized PreciousChildrenOfPortland. org, 503 334-6183, and in a pamphlet they quote MLK Jr.'s niece, Dr. Alveda King, speaking in Portland on April 20, 2007 saying, "My uncle would not want an abortion mill on a street named after him!"
Neil quote: "The church of the day must've been "out to lunch" on this issue."
Or, stealthily in cahoots with them.
If you are ever stunned and horrified by what kinds of wicked and evil thoughts your mind can produce (even as a christian) if you were to think through solving the world's problems, can you imagine what kind of sick perverted notions pastors and politicians can come up with in order to better society?
Just because we mean well, does not mean it is well.
At least she had the guts to say something against it, but it is not on par, it is FAR AND BEYOND greater in number of dead/abused.
Abortion is the greatest genocide in the history of all mankind. In the last 50 years worldwide there have been EASILY over 300,000,000 murdered by mechanical abortions. This number does not include the unknown number of already conceived embryos who were murdered chemically by use of the birth control pill which most people are totally unaware can kill already conceived embryos. See epm.org for info proving the birth control pill can cause death to already conceived embryos and should never be used by anyone who believe life begins at conception.
Great to hear someone with credibility in civil rights circles point out this gross inconsistency.
The ugly secret of the Am. birth control industry is that its founder & patron saint, Margaret Sanger, was (like many of her contemporaries) an unapologetic racist: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Sanger Even W. E. Du Bois, though not as far gone as Sanger, advocated eugenic methods to improve the black "race." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W._E._B._Du_Bois#On_scientific_racism_and_eugenics
It is disgusting to learn how pervasive pseudo-scientific racism seems to have been in early 20th century America. The church of the day must've been "out to lunch" on this issue.
