Christian pastors embrace Scientology
TAMPA, Florida (CNN) -- Some Christian congregations, particularly in lower income, urban areas, are turning to an unlikely source for help -- the Church of Scientology.

Scientologists do not worship God, much less Jesus Christ. The church has seen plenty of controversy and critics consider it a cult. So why are observant Christians embracing some of its teachings?

Two pastors who spoke recently with CNN explained that when it comes to religion, they still preach the core beliefs of Christianity. But when it comes to practicing what they preach in a modern world, borrowing from Scientology helps.

The Rev. Charles Kennedy, of the Glorious Church of God in Christ, a Pentecostal church in Tampa, Florida, and the Rev. James McLaughlin, of the Wayman Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas, are among the theological hybrids. ...

Church organizations are manmade frameworks and we can’t (and should never) put our faith in them.

I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus’ Name

Amen Terry Evans.

Salvation is not in a church but in Christ Alone! NO church is safe from apostacy. The Swiss Reformed Church is for the most part as apostate as you can get. The word "reformed" doesn't mean anything to most people here nowadays. I know this is true for other reformed churches as well...like in the Netherlands, Scotland etc.

Simply put they are not Christians. Christians only worship the triune God.

When asked whether Scientology's values contradict the religion of Jesus Christ, Kennedy replies, "Sometimes yes. Sometimes no." But he says his congregation can relate to "The Way to Happiness."
= Happiness in this world is precisely what Satan wants you to find. That brings you to seek outside the True Church and Biblical Doctrines. Classic cultology.
(And of course social gospel)
The fact that we see here "Pentecostal" and "Episcopalian" preachers, speaks volumes to the error of their ways.
If you require the Bible to be read and taught properly then you have to attend a Reformed Church.
Right on, if only you would have left out the last line, pride is everywhere, even in the "Reformed church", but not in the true church of Christ. Someone in the Bible said are you of Paul...
You know the story. Amen to the rest.

I shy away from scientology, after all I made a B in earth science, a C in Biology, and a D in Chemistry; and even if this includes the social sciences I was bored in pyschology and sociology; don't they have a system for music lovers instead. jkiding.

Information on Scientology,

http://www.xenu.net/

as I have pointed out to a Catholic visitor to our forum,"WebstersDict [1913 with example] (SYNCRETISM)

Syncretism /Syn?creútism/ (?), n. [Gr. ?, fr. ? to make two parties join against a third: cf. F. syncr‚tisme.] Attempted union of principles or parties irreconcilably at variance with each other.

He is plotting a carnal syncretism, and attempting the reconcilement of Christ and Belial. ---Baxter."

The Word of God is being adulterated and ideas and concepts and doctrines are being tolerated and accepted which we would not have dreamed of accepting before.
The great threat to the Evangelical Church today is from within, those masquerading as servants of the living God. Claiming to be proclaiming truth or a variation of truth and in reality it is Satan masquerading as an angel of light.

Trying to use Scientology as a means of reinforcing Christian
practice reminds me of ancient Israel's attempts to qualify
their faith by worshipping on the high places rather than in
the temple.
