Homosexual content prominent on primetime TV, study says
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--When it comes to homosexual characters and themes on primetime television, ABC and the CW lead the pack, a new study says, although all five major broadcast networks have enough such programming to cause Christian families concern.

The study of one year's worth of programming found that 15 percent of all of ABC's primetime programming hours during that span contained either homosexual characters or the discussion of homosexuality. The CW was second at 12 percent, followed by CBS (9 percent), NBC (7 percent) and Fox (6 percent).

The first-of-its-kind study was conducted by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD). The organization also gave the networks grades: ABC was rated "good," the CW, CBS and NBC "fair" and Fox "poor." No network received the highest grade of "excellent." The study, dubbed the "Network Responsibility Index," examined programming between ...

Xander, you make good interesting observations! I was convicted to get rid of my BBC TV license 10 years go due to the deceiving wicked perverted holywood and blasphemous content of their provision (other stations are no better!). I have a TV and watch DVD's instead. Recently it has come to light that even factual documentaries and wildlife progs are set up and deceiving the viewer with their 'reality' and even the news is distorted. The christian will defend his right to watch TV by saying he only watches the news and documentries and he has control of the off button. I found I had no control as the sins are commited BEFORE I used to get my finger on the button! BBC BOLDLY BLASPHEMING CHRIST. The evidence is manifold BUT it doesn't stop believers funding the BBC with their money and thus providing the means for such filth. Try explaining how God has convicted you to get rid of the TV (until something better is provided and honours God) and you will be laughed to scorn. I hadn't seen TV for a number of years until visiting a relative and was shocked that afternoon children's TV contained what was once ONLY after the 900pm watershed. TV watching can certainly decieve the christian-I am sure a godly man should have something much better to do instead

II work with individuals with profound learning disabilities, and at work the last Sunday and one of the people I was helping to support wanted to watch the tv. So I put it on channel 4 and this show called Hollyoaks was on and it was around 11am I think. But anyways this whole episode was about a young guy cheating on his girlfriend with another young man. The whole thing was addressed in a really horrible and shamefull manner. With parts of it showiung the young guys fantisizing over one and other, carressing one and other etc... It was Early in the day and the service user I was working with was very clearly unsuyre of what to make of the program. So I turned it over to the BBc to watch heaven and earth. Which I thought would be bb1's version of songs of praise only to discover it completely inter faith viewing. with islam, atheism, hindu, pagan & witchcraft,(gloryfying it) And a small article on Christians who were standing up against homosexuals rights. I do not own a tv and havent really watched one for a couple of years, but I was so seriously shocked that this sort of things are occurring right under Christians noses and nothing is being done about it. What is the Lord going to ask His Holy representatives on this earth for not coming against these abominable matters?

In 1977 a fellow high school student told me
his father was even then contending with gay
and gay-supporting elders and fellow parishoners
in the bay area Lutherin Church his family attended
and he grew up in.

Still, I had no idea of the extent of homosexuality's
advancement within the church and its increased
advocacy by contemporary "Christians" until I
read your link.

Thanks, Jim from Nebraska

Clearly we need to keep praying for our churches
and especially their leaders.

The networks will do better. They are only laying the groundwork of their indoctrination of society.

"Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed [them] all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed."(Luke 17:28-30)

I still remember the tipping point, or at least one of them,
occurring on "Hill Street Blues" back in the 1980's where
the undercover officer on the show went from being hostile
to being sympathetic toward homosexuals, one of which was
an informant used by this undercover cop on a number of
episodes to gain information. This is my earliest memory
of anything other than negative portrayal of homosexuality
on network TV.

Of course, homosexual portrayal today is much more prevalent,
causing people like myself to seek other forms of entertainment
than watching network TV. Oh well!

I guess this means that the Bible would rate very, very poor in their estimation.
