Ministers say hate crimes act could muzzle them
Jackson, pastor of the Hope Christian Church in Lanham, Md., leads a movement against what gay activists say is their civil rights act: the Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007.

Jackson and more than 30 ministers say the law could prevent clergy from doing what their civil rights forebears did: preach against immoral acts. "We believe there is an anti-Christian muzzle-the-pastor kind of feeling behind this kind of law," Jackson says. "I need to be able to preach that adultery, fornication, straying from the way of the Lord is wrong." ...

"How about the homosexual agenda --- does that affect you or others in your church and our children?

How about the lust of the eyes, Heart and flesh?

How about the Love of money, Greed, the Love of this world, Lying and Cheeting (sic) your fellow man in business deals --- Doing Whatever it TAKES to make that next DOLLAR."

AMEN AND AMEN -- KK

People want to hear non-convicting sermons. They want to hear what is called deep things of the Spirit -- things about God that are hard to grasp. But hearing things about themselves that need correction, things that call for moral change -- they don't want to hear.

"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after thier own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." (II Tim 4:3-4)

Mike said, "I'm not saying no one is affected by those things, just not many should be in a Bible preaching church."

What kind of Church do they need to be in? If it is not a Bible preaching church, it is a false church.

I'm much more concerned in church about my own state before Christ and where I need to have work in my own heart then going to church to hear a preacher preach about the moral ills that probably aren't affecting a good number of people in my church... ???

Hmmm

How about the homosexual agenda --- does that affect you or others in your Church and our children ???

How about the lust of the eyes, Heart and flesh ???

How about the Love of money, Greed, the Love of this world, Lying and Cheeting your fellow man in Business Deals --- Doing Whatever IT TAKES To Make That Next DOLLAR ???

GRANTED, there are no PERFECT Churches but sooner or later you would think men would move to SOLID MEAT AND TEACH IT ***WITH BOLDNESS*** !!!

***MADCAP ReLiGiOn*** HAS Dumbed Down GOD AND HIS WORD

That's why people are SO CONFUSED about so many issues today and that explains why "We" HAVE SO MANY *DECEIVERS* in public office

In this day and time ITCHING EARS Will Not ENDURE SOUND DOCTRINE --- YES, WHOLESOME ***DOCTRINAL REPROOF*** they Will Not **HEAR**.

ReLiGiOn with all its Denominational Divides CATERING TO SO MANY ITCHING EARS -- WHAT MADNESS...

"We" Have Become That Which "We" Once Despised And PERCEIVE IT NOT !!!

WOE TO this people who Will Not ***HEAR*** !!!

Abigail,
To get the context of the conversation:
"KK, you said, "In many cases --- just as it is at the Church I attend --- Pastors NEVER preach against THE MORAL ILLS that are tearing This Country apart..."

I said, "If that's your beef and if that's why you go to church, why do you still go to THAT church?"

I chose my words carefully. If that's why someone goes to church, they should be able to find that somewhere. If they go to church to truly worship the Triune God of Heaven, they probably won't find that in a Billy Sunday type of service. I'm much more concerned in church about my own state before Christ and where I need to have work in my own heart then going to church to hear a preacher preach about the moral ills that probably aren't affecting a good number of people in my church--i'm thinking drunkenness, homosexuality, abortion, etc. It's easy to preach hard on those in church, when it doesn't affect too many in the church. (I'm not saying no one is affected by those things, just not many should be in a Bible preaching church.)

Mike

You asked KK why he attends a church that does not address the moral ills that are tearing this country apart.

Tell me where there is a church that the pastor preaches against the moral ills that are pervading this society.

This article states that the "hate laws" are muzzling the message of the bible.

Nothing can muzzle the message of the true messengers, for they will endure suffering, scoffing, mockery, prison, flame, and sword to carry forth the Words of Life.

The modern preachers are being muzzled by their own inability to endure persecution to follow in the steps of our blessed Savior, shedding their blood, if need be, to be a light to the world that lies in darkness.

Jesus spoke of being hated for His Namesake, of being treated as He was treated. He said the disciple if not above His Master, but it is enough to be as the Master. If they persecuted Him, they will persecute His followers.

The entire time of Christ's ministry, the religious leaders were seeking to put Him to death. The same is true of worldly governments--they are trying to put true Christianity to death.

Church leaders want to have nice socially accepted organizations with ornate portals that are museums with relics of yesterday's Christianity.

Shame

Get them imprisoned or fired by the wicked sure, okay. But silence them from preaching the Truth?

In prison wouldn't they have a wonderful opportunity to preach to sinners? Maybe just as many or more as in our local churchs?

And if they are fired in favor of a hireling? Ouch! They might have to actually live by faith and not what the adoring fans of religious celebrities would pay them. How bad could that be? They might just have to get back to living by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God and not by the latest best seller in our so called "Christian Bookstores"?

When it comes to preaching it would be wise for all of us to take seriously who calls one to preach, where our authority to preach lies and that we must obey God rather than man.

Preach against immoral acts ???

Hmmm

In many cases --- just as it is at the Church I attend --- Pastors NEVER preach against THE MORAL ILLS that are tearing This Country apart...

It's a sad day when men have become SO DUMBED DOWN in their ReLiGiOn that they have *CEASED* TO BE VOICES FOR TRUTH -- picking and choose THE SCRIPTURES they want to emphasize and INSISTENTLY NEGLECT ***THE MANY WARNINGS TO BELIEVERS*** *IN* Christ

Didn't John The Baptist rebuked Herod for stealing another man's wife (Herodias) ??? She had been married to Herod's half-brother (Phillip). Herodias was OUTRAGED that John The Baptist would dare speak out WITH SUCH CANDOR CONFRONTING them in their SIN. John ***DIDN'T HESITATE*** he spoke THE TRUTH even to the Highest Authority in the land and so Herodias convinced Herod to arrest John.

Hmmm

All of you Baptists BEST BE SPEAKING THE TRUTH come what may !!!

........................................ Veritas Vincit !!!

.................................... TRUTH CONQUERS !!!

SALT AND LIGHT ??? --- THESE OPERATE IN *THE TRUTH*
--- NOT JUST The User-friendly/Convenient TRUTHS !!!

ONLY DUMBED DOWN ReLiGiOn Could Be SO WRONG !!!

All you boys BEST WAKE UP !!!

Can't you smell the funk men are shoveling ???

With Love *IN* Christ, KK
