Separated by faith, clergy bond over Israel
They disagree on a multitude of core beliefs, but not this one: the preservation of Israel.

A group of Nashville rabbis and evangelical Christian pastors have somewhat different motivations for their budding alliance, which this week has taken them on an unusual joint tour of Christian and Jewish holy sites in Israel.

Though we have huge differences in theology and how we perceive one another, the one thing we agree on — albeit for very different reasons — is this love for the state of Israel."

The local alliance of a dozen clergy — half of them rabbis, half evangelical Christian pastors — mirrors growing support on the part of evangelical Christians for Israel and Jewish acceptance of their new allies. Such alliances have been solidifying for the past decade but have seen renewed growth since the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. ...

It's good to note, that God always keeps his promises, including the Jews, no matter what they have done in the past.

Does God have a future for Israel?

If God lied to the Jews, He could just as very well have lied to the Christians!

Also a couple of sermons on the matter.

We can disagree that right thinking Christians have been a big support for Israel for around 200 years, even more so than many Jews! As a Jew himself says.

Luke 13:34, 35 (and Matthew) O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Rev. 11:8 (speaking of the two witnesses who are killed and left to rot in the streets of Jerusalem): And their dead bodies shall like in the street of the great city, which SPIRITUALLY IS CALLED SODOM AND EGYPT, where also our Lord was crucified.

Matthew 27:25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

Matthew 28:13 ...they gave large money unto the soldiers, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you. So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

Romans 11:25 "For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that BLINDNESS IN PART is HAPPENED to Israel, UNTIL the fulness of the Gentiles be come in."

Rom 11:20 "Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, THAT I MIGHT be graffed in.
20. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. BE NOT HIGHMINDED, but FEAR:
21. For if God spared not the natural branches, TAKE HEED lest he also spare not thee."

I think 911 has made some important points. Uniting for Israel at the expense of sound Bible doctrine could just be another ecumenical compromise in the making.

Christians need to unite for Christ -- not Israel.

Israel, as referred to in Revelation, is Sodom and Egypt.

Israel hates Christ and hates Christians.

So why do we need to unite for Israel?

If that's how people really feel, why don't they just become Jews?

Are these "Christians" also in favor of nuking Iran, blasting Lebanon (which is half Christian), and destroying Syria as well?

IOW, are these "Christians" also in favor of eliminating over half the population from Planet Earth?

Didn't Jesus say, blessed are the peacemakers and blessed are the meek and merciful? What is peaceful, blessed or meek and merciful about nuking people who have done us no harm -- just because we think it might make Israel happy?

Will Israel like Christians any more if we annhilate half the Planet? Answer-- no, they won't.

"I think 9/11 accelerated a pre-existing trend in both communities to see each other as allies," said David Brog, executive director of Christians United for Israel. Brog is Jewish. "As the nature of the threat has been more clear and more immediate, we see this trend accelerating. All of a sudden, the theological differences that may exist don't loom as large as they used to."

You See.!
Theological differences can be overcome.

God's people should stick together.
After all the end is nigh.
