Seattle Jewish Federation attacked
A man walked into a Jewish organization and opened fire, killing one person and injuring at least five others before he was arrested, officials said.

Three of the women who were wounded were in very serious condition, Israel Radio reported.

The gunman, who employees said claimed to be a Muslim angry at Israel, forced his way through the security door at the Jewish Federation after an employee had punched in her security code, said Marla Meislin-Dietrich, a co-worker who was not at the building at the time.

According to CNN, the man was of Pakistani descent. ...

Beyond this it's easy for us to offer armchair commentary because you and I do not have neighboring nations which eiher officially or de facto (here meaning Lebanon, whose Hizbullah is the tail that wags the dog) have as their stated goal the destruction of America and the murder of as many Americans as possible SIMPLY BECAUSE we're Americans.

Add to that Muslim practices such as clitorectomy, spousal abuse, and the honor killing whereby a man may legally kill his wife for any old reason he drums up.

I'm not whitewashing Israeli indiscretions, but simply pointing out there is absolutely no comparison to be made with the state of Israel and Muslim terrorists--none at all. Beyond that my statements were not about Israel at all, but about the uniquely Muslim habit of actively seeking out civilians of a given race or confession to kill, simply by association to, say, Israel, Christendom, America, etc.

And, not to beat the cliche 9/11 hammer, but seriously, is there any Jew in the world who would do such a thing? Actively seek to kill thousands of civilians when they could have flown the plane into a military base? Just think about 9/11 for a minute--there is absolutely no comparison with that and either any Jews or the state of Israel.

News Item7/31/06 6:04 PM
To that I would add that the Israelis have killed many civilians. That is clear. I think they are a tad indisriminate about these things, but there is nonetheless a crucial difference: when the Israelis kill civilians, it is an acident they made while trying to hit a military target. When the Muslim terrorists kill civilians they do it ON PURPOSE. A broader distinction has to made there as well--Israel, as a (basically) western nation has unerstood for the most part the foundational component that sets western civil society apart from barbarity: the civilian-military separation. For a western nation there's a difference between combatant and civilian. The one you want to kill is the combatant, and the one you wantto avoid killing is the civilian. The Islamic world simply has never understood this distinction, which is why a sophisticated militia like Hizbullah to this day in the war has barely targetted Israeli military targets, but mainly just civilians. Although it wold be more moral (as well as strategic) to focus on military strategic objectives, to the Islamic terrorist there IS NO DISTINCTION between military and civilian. A dead Jew is a dead Jew, and that's all they want.

Let's say porn is the Jews' fault. If I say Smith is bad and you say Jones is bad too, that doesn't mean Smith isn't bad. If the Jews are porn-mongers that doesn't mean the Muslims are suddenly less violent in religious terms as I have described. Though I speak of the faults of Muslims it seems as if you keep recurring to the faults of the Jews as if that either mitigates the faults of the Muslims or makes the Jews equal to them. And, again, if Y is as bd as X that doesn't mean X isn't bad.

As far as what Jesus would do, we all, if we're honest we know He'd never wage any war, other than the final one He is to wage at the Eschaton.

As far as Israel's actions in Lebanon and Christian support of them, I have already written extensively on another thread about why it is stupid and unbiblical for the Judaizing evangelicals to write a blank check to Israel as if it can do no wrong. On the oe hand I support Israel's right to defend itself. On the other hand you can't help but make the observation that it's pretty hard for innocents to escape when the entire infrastructure, roads, and gas stations have been bombed. That I don't go with.

However, as Jim from Nebraska says quite well below, porn is an equal-opportunity sin, while the Muslims have a near monopoly on terrorism.

How many of the children who have been killed in Lebanon knew much if anything about terrorism - the terrorism they know is Israeli Jets and Bombs - or there parents who are trying to just stay alive and take care of there families on a very meager subsistence - these are poor people who have no electricity, no runnung water, very little food and being bombed on top of it all. What would Jesus Christ do that is the question you need to ask yourself.

An interesting op-ed about this article in the Jerusalem Post about this news event.

Anon., your comment to Anon. is quite correct. There are plenty of non-Jews who peddle porn. It's an equal opportunity sin. Terrorism is almost an Islamic monopoly.

News Item7/31/06 1:10 PM
Furthermore regarding the analogy that Jewry at large is not to blame for Jews (allegedly) controlling the porn industry, and so Islam is not responsible for individual terrorists--consider also the fact that if Jews are in control of the porn industry, this is not something many people would know, so many Jews would not know this, but ALL Muslims know about Muslim terrorism, yet don't make a stink about it.

News Item7/31/06 12:55 PM
To Anonymous--

I have heard that suggested about the pornography business, but your analogy doesn't hold. The crucial difference is this: those Jews which allegedly control the pornography business are (a) not part of a worldwide system of terror bent on making actual physical war on individuals, (b) while responsible perhaps for much evil, they are not responsible for the fiery deaths of thousands or more of innocents, (c) the Jewish bible does not command throughout it the making of porn (whereas the Qur'an orders perpetual war until all the world is converted, and orders beheading of infidels, and (d) most importantly, I am sure not one of those Jews who profits from porn does so BECAUSE he is a Jew, nor I would think do any of them see themselves as making porn for religious reasons--they are doing what they are doing in SPITE of being Jews, not because of it, while the Muslim terrorists do what they do BECAUSE they are Muslims. So the analogy doesn't hold.

Your analogy of a lack of outrage from Muslims can be compared to the Jewish Pornography and Sex Trade. The Upper Echelon of the Pornography Business & Adult Films are controlled by Jews and has been for many years.A Google search will verify this there is no denying it.But you can't lable all Jews guilty because they don't come out against it.

News Item7/31/06 5:09 AM
Abdullah was talking about how he'd like to abolish honor killings, but he CAN'T--get this--because of the popular support it has among the people. He fears if he did so his regime would be toppled and replaced by Islamists. So again, such things have popular support among Muslims.

News Item7/31/06 5:06 AM
Granted the Hindus also have a history of occasional extreme violence against Muslims in India (though not to the extent of the Muslims) as well as persecution of Indian Christians, and granted that every twenty years or so some wacko bombs an abortion clinic in th name of Christianity, aside from peripheral cases, there is no religion on the Earth with so many violent practitioners as Islam. There is no other religion on Earth, nor has there ever been, which had networks of terror groups like Islam. There has never been on Earth another religion with practitioners carrying on a global war (against always CIVILIANS mind you, and civilians on purpose) like Islam. The reason of course is that, unlike, say the Jews, whose God conquered FOR them (they understood the Omnipotence of God vis-a-vis His not needing help), Islam's god has placed on Muslims a personal duty to wage war for him until the entire globe is Muslim. Democracy is also inconsistent with Islam, since democracy is basically a Christian invention and since democracy in Islam is considered idolatry.

Again nearly every Muslim country permits honor killings, even so-called "moderate" Muslim nations like Jordan. I once saw King Abdullah II on 60 Minutes talking about honor killings.

News Item7/31/06 4:57 AM
such actions as criminal and un-Biblical, and would furthermore demand punishment for the perpetrators. Just imagine if even ONE Christian somewhere in the world walked into a Muslim grocery, or what have you, and blew himself up along with civilians, imagine to what a broad extent all Christians would condemn such acts. But where are the analogous cases to be found in Islam? Where are the marches by this as yet hitherto unseen "silent majority" of Muslims who allegedly condemns Islamic terrorism? This alleged silent majority just is nowhere to be found. Almost every day some Muslim(s) somewhere in the world stage an attack against non-combatant innocent civilians, women, children, etc. and yet one can't find almost any Muslims who will publicly renounce such people. How would it be if every day or week some Christian somewhere killed innocents in the name of Jesus? Like I said we'd all be calling for his head and denouncing him as a devil and a perverter of the Gospel. But where are the Muslims who do this?

We are told it's just extremists, or in some cases bad gov'ts. in Muslim lands, but that's nonsense. The problem with Islam is MUSLIMS plain and simple. We hear things like "well there are Christian extremists too--there are extremists in every religion." This is absurd.

News Item7/31/06 4:48 AM
I've been watching the news coverage on this and it's striking the degree to which reporters repeatedly beef up the fact that this guy was a manic-depressive. To me, it doesn't matter--he went into a Jewish place, announced his hatred of Israel, and began opening fire on random Jews. When are the news media going to admit such things are a uniquely Muslim habit and drop the "Islam is a religion of peace with just a few extremists" nonsense?

"Well only some Muslims do this" they say, and "the majority of Muslims disagree with such acts," but I don't really buy that either and here's why: where are the Muslims to be found who roundly condemn this and other acts of Islamic terrorism? They just aren't to be found. You can bet that if a Christian, acting on what he thought were Biblical grounds, began bombing the ACLU or abortion clinics in the name of Jesus Christians would rise up and condemn such acts. Although the ACLU is a basically atheistic organization with communist roots which gets the lion's share of its funding from the so-called "sex industry," and although abortion is the new holocaust, if supposed Christians began acting in such a way against their enemies (e.g. killing innocents, suicide bombings, acts of terrorism), Christians accross the globe would denounce...

A few short months ago President Bush was praising Lebanon's fledgling democracy now he has turned his back on her and is encouraging Israels Assault as a matter of fact he encouraged them to continue the bombardment and not to stop for two days inspite of the slaughter of children at Qana yesterday.I encourage everyone to read a book recently released "Christian Words Unchristian Actions George Bush And The Desecration Of Christianity In America By John Klar" Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many powerful works? And then will

Tim, there is no mutual respect from many Muslems. The flow of arms for Syria and Iran have to be stopped as well as money from Iran. I suppose that will be the country that will have to be taught respect. This does show we have to be much active in screening the muslims that come to this country. There religion is as anti-democratic, if not more so, than Communism. I wish Western governments would realize that.

The front page of that website will lead to many interesting facts.

This is a good sermon on the subject,

Immigration controls have to be much tighter in this country. We use to ban Communists from entering this country.

Yes Abraham had two sons.
But only ONE counts towards the promise and the covenant.

Gen 17.19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

Gal 4.28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise

Gal 4.23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

It is also like the senseless slaughter of Women & Children taking place daily in the middle east - primarily in Lebanon & Iraq - Even if Israel is successful in reducing Hezbollah to nothing they will then withdraw and Hezbollah will begin to rebuild itself and in five years they will be stronger than they now are and much smarter. They will be inundated with 10s of 1000s of new recruits the money will pour in from all over the Arab World. The answer is not violence it only begets martyrs and the Muslim World loves its martyrs. The answer is mutual respect and not pounding someone into submission.Read the book of Genesis from Chapter 16 through 26 Abraham had two sons not one.Isaac received the birthright and the most desirable land for his twelve tribes and Ishmael received the wilderness and the desert lands for his twelve tribes.Isaac and Ishmael buried there father Abraham in peace together Genesis 25:7-9 And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years. Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people. And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre.

News Item7/29/06 8:55 AM
What a mindless cowardly thing to do. The typical "easy" target of the Muslim Terrorist, where nobody can shoot back. It's like the suicide bomber who picks the easy target rather than fight like a man.

I wonder if these one off terrorists feel vindicated later, when they come to their senses, (if indeed they ever do).
