TV Promotes Promiscuity in Children
CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina, March 23, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Movies, television, music and magazines are fuelling promiscuity in children aged 12-15 according to a new study recently released.

As reported by the Journal of Adolescent Heath, researchers evaluated the effect of the media on the sexual behaviors and intentions of 1,011 12 to 15 year-olds they surveyed.

University of North Carolina scientists Kelly Ladin L’Engle, Jane Brown and Kristin Kenneavy concluded that children who are exposed to more sexual content through the media and who “perceive greater support from the media for teen sexual behavior, report greater intentions to engage in sexual intercourse and more sexual activity.” ...

All i have to say is that I am heavily involved with teens everyday of my life at the local YMCA. I know that my young people are challenged everyday with filth on television. In fact some of their wardrobe is heavily influenced by the very minimal clothing of the movie stars today. If you want to control sexual activity among the youth, control the way that they dress. As my mama always told me as a young lady...

"Don't advertise if you don't wan't to sell the product!"

Hopefully as a mama one day, I will teach my girls and boys to have the right heroes like pastors, missionaries, and pastor's wives, and then they'd want to dress right and act right.
I'm not telling America to totally throw out their televisions, but I AM saying that you should monitor what goes into your young people's minds by maybe having a time where y'all as a family watch television together. May i suggest...ANDY GRIFFITH?!

It's not hard to toss the tube. Ending the TV in my life only helped me grow in many ways---intellectually, spiritually, and financially.

Bringing Children to Jesus

Television, media, printed material, internet use- all influence kids TREMENDOUSLY: the Godly parent will attempt to control access to anything that is a powerful influence-to make sure it doesn't HARM them.

Mark 10:13-16
"And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them. "

Sixty million kids with web access and their own websites! The dynamics of growing up, communication, and child crimes are changing. Perverts used to pick up children on street corners. Now they do it in chat rooms.

Fortunately Christians are already well aware of this - I mean it has been obvious for a long time - which is why they don't have Television.
