Postmodern US becoming polyamorous
Sometimes Nan Wise's in-laws pop round on Sunday afternoons. They settle down with Nan, a psychotherapist, her husband John, a lawyer, and their two children to watch American football on TV.

So far, so all-American: a slice of suburban life on the outskirts of New York. But sometimes John's long-term girlfriend drops by, as does Nan's boyfriend. The Wises are not divorced. In fact, Nan says her marriage to John is as strong as ever. 'We are very normal, well-adjusted people,' she said.

Well, sort of normal. Welcome to the world of the polyamorous, where the family is bigger than you might expect. Polyamorists do not limit themselves to one relationship but maintain numerous relationships, straight or gay. A key element is that they are all serious emotional commitments, not just casual sex.

And polyamorists are coming out of the closet across America. Several groups have sprung up. In New ...

33K I was not angry with you what so ever. I would like to say thank you to Greg for proving once again that what you meant for evil, God meant for good. God bless you KC, 33k, Jesica, and PLW for a totally awesome display of the love of Christ. It is very moving to see the forgiveness portrayed in the hearts of Gods elect. I too will pray for you Greg. PRAISE our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Praise The Lord for you KC! Yes indeed you are right, we should pray for Greg. Perhaps what the enemy has meant for harm to others, God has meant for good. In that he has been brought to our attention, that we may be a blessing unto him and pray for him. The Lord is good and His mercy is everlasting. God does not punish us as far as our sins deserve, praise The Lord! Maybe this whole occurence will turn out to be a beautiful part of his testimony some day. God bless!

News Item11/14/05 8:58 PM
I agree, Jessica. Thank you for reminding all of us to pray for Greg. I think he is mostly just lonely and is looking for some conversation. He says shocking and vulgar things because he doesn't think he'll get any attention from normal dialogue.

God bless you Greg! May The Lord Jesus convert your heart and mind, unto His truth and His righteousness! May The Lord edify you unto wholesome living and communication! May you taste and see, that The Lord is good and turn away from all ungodliness! Shalom

Hello Sermonaudio,

Thank you and forgive us if we were to harsh. I love your web site and guess it was just a bit overwhelmed to know it got through. Keep up the good work.

Jessica, you're right. Sermon Audio needs to do a better job of keeping crazies like myself from posting to this forum.

We appreciate the support and help of all who use the site. We are doing our best to keep the site running as smoothly as humanly possible. Having said that, it's somewhat of a challenge for us to be monitoring the site hour upon hour (let alone the complete 24-hours-a-day). This is why we rely on our visitors to help us with the "report abuse" link when absolutely applicable. Thank you for your patience.

I think that the words that were used on the person's post, should be added to the word filter. I am offended that I have been subjected to such disgusting language.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

1 Peter 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

Romans 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

May God transform us by the renewing of our minds!

RV, I do appreciate your comments, I did not mean it to come across as a correction of you. I apologise if it did. I just wanted to express my support for the people that run the website. On the whole they do a great job. I'm sure that they would also want to eliminate such postings as soon as possible, it's their reputation after all.

33K, alright being as you have been on this site longer then me, I will give you the benefit of the doubt. And I will take your word for it, that this is a better way to go. However it took them 48 minutes to remove it. I would think they could do a better job then that.

News Item11/14/05 6:12 PM
Sermonaudio is on autopilot, and my 2c worth is that is the best policy. Please don't change it.

Years ago, Sermonaudio had a time delay on messages for them to be vetted before they were published.
The current system is much better as it enables dialogue to be established between posters on a real time basis.

The editor has already removed the offending comment. I think that was quick enough! Good work guys!

TO the editor who ever you are, is there anyway you can remove this what ever you want to call him from entering this site? Or maybe you could do a better job of deleting Greg's comments before we have a chance to read his filth.

Quote from article:

"Many polyamorous people, who call themselves 'polys', liken their emergence to the struggle by gays and lesbians for equal rights, 'coming out' as poly in a society prejudiced against their lifestyle."

I find it interesting in our society; that sinful groups believe they are right, because they suffer persecution. This same society will rarely acknowledge the extreme persecution, of Christians in Counries where Christianity is forbidden. Christian's are being beaten, kidnaped, and murdered every day. Secular news will rarely report on the subject. Yet when people who want to have an openly sinful lifestyle and people are not accepting of it, they cry "persecution".

Both the person living in sin suffer and the person practicng righteousness. One will suffer as a result of their own sin, the other suffers for righteousness sake:

2 Timothy 2:8-10 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel: Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound. Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

Hello again, Greg. We're not going to debate you because we know you're just trolling here and lying about your pregnant girlfriends, your fish eating church and your entirely shaved body. And I know that posting to you is just going to light your fire, because you're horribly attention starved. But since you want attention, here it is.

Greg from CA, Do you think you can keep a clean dialog going this time? The last few times the editor of this site has had to remove your postings. It certainly appears that you are again starting something. What kind of a response to you think your going to get with a posting like that? If your God is OK with that type of life style then maybe you should search for another God. My God hates sin, and until I repented of it and put my full trust in Christ ALONE (and not my little self)I was on my way to Hell. Maybe your one of these people that feels that truth is subjective. Well Gods truth IS the whole TRUTH and nothing but the TRUTH. My guess is you have probably heard that saying before. If you don't want to spend eternity in Hell,I suggest you spend more time in Gods word and less time in front of your mirror.

God bless you KC! Very happy to know that you and Gabriella are on good terms, such a blessing. For God's people to live in unity, is such a wonderous thing.

Thank you for wishing me a good sleep. I am happy knowing that The Lord gives His beloved sleep.

Psalm 127:2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

God bless!

The article is quoted:

"Polys say that for many people, monogamy is unnatural. They point to spiralling divorce rates and widespread infidelity among monogamous couples. Polys, they say, are honest about the human condition. It is monogamists, they say, who live in a fantasy land."

God's Word says:

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1 Timothy 4:1-2 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
