1 Peter 5, verse number 1. The elders, and we're preaching through the book of Peter, and we said that Peter was told by the Lord Jesus Christ, He said, When thou art converted, strengthen the brethren. And that's what Peter's doing. He is strengthening the brethren. And I want to tell you, he's going to fix it and tell you something that really, really strengthened you during this time in history. He said, The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and here it is, a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed." You know, I don't think it takes a Philadelphia lawyer to understand that America, they're even out right now, they took a poll this week that Americans believe that this nation is in decline. And it is in decline, there's no question about it. You can't take God out of your sight in your culture without a declining nation. And American people become very aware of that. And you know, I don't understand all about prophecy. I just know that God is going to do what He said in His Word. I don't know the time sequence of it. I know there can be revival and renewal and so forth. But I also really believe that that irregardless of what situation things may look like and what we don't know God will do, we need to have hope in the midst of it all and can have hope and can have assurance and can have peace and can have rest in the midst of whatever may be going on in our life. And I really believe that. I mean, I get shook up and I'm probably the world's worst about it, but there's something here what Peter's telling them. You see, in the book of Peter, if you'll start out there, it was said the stranger scattered. Peter was addressing a church, a group of believers that had been literally scattered. They'd scattered so bad, in other words, it would be like you and I here, how'd you like to talk about this time next week, everybody here scattered, couldn't meet for fear of being shot or persecuted or arrested or so forth and scattered. He wrote this letter to Christians that are going through suffering, they're going through some hard times, they're going through terrible times, far worse than you and I have ever had. And He's given him some truth to encourage him to see beyond. Listen to it. Here's the strengthening. The ability that God gives the believer to see beyond the present trials and troubles and problems to what's in the future for the child of God. And if you want to get lifted up from this, oh my goodness, oh my goodness, oh my goodness, can you believe that? If you want to get past that, get in this Bible, amen? And take the Word of God and see beyond the present trouble. Because the truth about it is, our hope is not in human governments. Our hope is not in human solutions. Our ultimate hope is in the God of glory. Now, Peter says something. Now, hold that passage of Scripture and flip back to the first chapter of the same book, 1 Peter chapter 1. And I want to show you something here. It's a great doctrine. Verse number 11 of chapter 1. 1 Peter chapter 1 verse 11. Remember what he said in the last part of that verse number 1 chapter 5? Now I want you to have chapter 1 verse number 11 and chapter 5 verse number 1. And I want you to look again at chapter 5, the last part of that verse. A witness of the sufferings of Christ. Now what's Peter saying? Peter is saying, I was a witness when Jesus Christ died on the cross. I was a witness of the sufferings of Christ. But he said this, and also a partaker. Peter's two things here. He's a witness and a partaker. Peter's taking these people beyond the suffering. And he said, I'm also a partaker of the what? Glory. There's two things the book of Peter teaches you. It teaches you the sufferings of Christ and the glory of Christ. Go back to chapter 1, verse number 11. Searching what or what manner of time. Now it's talking about the salvation, verse number 10, that the prophets prophesied. The prophecy of the grace of God. The salvation by grace through faith. Then it gets to verse 11, it says, Searching what or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ, which was in them, did signify, when it testified beforehand, here it is, two things, the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow. Now he's moving back over in chapter 5 and hits it again. He said, I'm a witness of the sufferings of Christ and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed. I want to submit to you this morning that if you're saved today, you're a partaker of the glory that is to come. in the Lord Jesus Christ. And God doesn't want you focusing on all the sin and the wickedness and the curse of this old nasty world and all the problems of this life. Jesus told us to lay up our treasures in heaven, didn't He? Jesus said to set our affections on things above, not on things of the earth. If there's anything this Bible teaches, it teaches us to look beyond this life, to look into eternity, and to be prepared to meet the Lord. I want to say to you here this morning that if you're here lost today, you're unsaved. I mean, you're on your way to hell, and you reject the Lord Jesus Christ, or maybe you don't know how to be saved. I want to tell you, first of all, you need to witness the sufferings of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ died on that cross for your sin. He suffered for your sin. He took your sin upon Him and His own body on that tree. All of your lying, all of your rebellion, all of your cheating, all of your stealing, all of your lust, all of your adultery, fornication, all that filth and garbage that you commit, God put it on His Son, the Lord Jesus, on the cross of Calvary. And He died there in your place for your sin. He was buried and on the third day He rose again victorious over death, hell and the grave. Now, that's part of the glory. The sufferings, but then there's the glory. Now, in the Old Testament, the prophets in the Old Testament prophesied two lines of Messianic prophecy. In other words, prophecy of the coming Messiah. One of the lines that they prophesied was the suffering Messiah. You find that in Isaiah chapter 53, where it says, He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, and the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we were healed. All we like sheep have gone astray, we've turned everyone to his own way, and the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all. That's the gospel in the Old Testament and it's the prophecy of the coming Messiah. Psalms 22 tells us of the suffering. They looked upon Him and various passages of the Old Testament tells us of the prophecies of this line of the suffering Messiah. But most of the prophecy of the Messiah in the Old Testament was about the kingly Messianic, the sovereign, not the suffering Messiah, but the sovereign Messiah who would reign and rule upon this earth in victory and power, reclaiming What Adam lost, the second Adam who would reclaim what the first Adam lost in the Garden of Eden and restore. In fact, the Old Testament teaches the lamb will lay down by the lion, the ox shall eat grass and so forth, and the wolf and the kid and so forth. And so you have these two messianic lines. Most of them never paid any attention to the suffering line. It didn't sound good to them. They loved to read about the sovereign messianic and the prophecies concerning the kingdom. But the Bible teaches us that we know exactly that the suffering Messiah had to come first, and then will come the sovereign Messiah. Now, the Bible speaks of glory here, and I want to preach this morning on the subject that, by the way, Brother Elvin and his family is back with us today. They're back for a little while from Pennsylvania, and was I ever glad to see them this morning. I think we ought to welcome them back, amen? Wasn't good to see you. I tell you what I told him I was going to do, get a rope and chain and tie him up to a tree, amen? I might do like that old boy, tie his axle of his old pickup to a tree, an oak tree, so he don't go nowhere. But anyway, we're good to see you. I want to preach this morning real quick on the glory that shall be revealed. The glory that shall be revealed. You know, I tell you what, I turn on Fox News, and there's Sean, I don't turn it on, actually, I don't, my TV won't work, but I hear all about it every once in a while in the office. I turn on Fox News on the Internet, and I'll tell you what, Glenn Beck and they're telling us how it is, and I thank God for those guys that are doing it. I'll tell you what's bad, they may not get worse all the time, and pretty soon I'm just like, I'm gonna cut down the groundhog hole! I mean, I can't see anything good anywhere about anybody, any time, any way. And all of a sudden, the Holy Ghost comes whispering and says, why don't you quit looking at all this mess and all this rot? Didn't I tell you things are going to wax worse and worse? And if you get your eyes on glory, it'll change your whole attitude and change the way you're thinking. And so that's one of the reasons I'm going to preach this to try to help my attitude to be better. Amen? But I like this word glory. You know we need glory in our churches. We need glory in our own hearts. And glory only comes from God. And Peter said, we have been made partakers of the glory of God. Well, why don't we just claim that this morning? Amen? Why don't we talk about the grime and the grit and the gutter and talk about the glory this morning of God? I'm glad that I've not only been made a partaker of Christ's sufferings, but I've been made a partaker of the glory that is to come. Now, there's six ways that glory is used in Scripture. The first is, it's used as a method of praise. to the Lord. In Luke chapter 2 and verse 14, the angels said, Glory to God in the heights. In Luke 17, 15, Jesus had healed ten lepers, and one of the lepers turned around and with a loud voice glorified God. You know I wasn't nothing but an old leper, amen, full of sin, couldn't heal myself, couldn't be fixed. And I tell you why I believe that passage the Scripture teaches, is that every once in a while, you ought to with a loud voice glorify God, amen, for saving my old wretched soul. And then in Acts chapter 12, verse 23, whenever Herod got up and made that big speech, and the people said, oh, it's the voice of a God, not of a man. God didn't like that very well. And God said, he's trying to steal my glory. And the angel of the Lord smote Herod, because he gave not God the glory. I wanted to ask you this question this morning. How good has God been to you? And has God had to smite your life because you wouldn't give God the glory? I'll tell you what, we ought to give God the glory, amen, for everything that's right and good. Hey, I give God the glory that I was born in America. I was down there looking at that world map, and I see countries' names I can't even pronounce, but it don't sound good to me. I'm so glad I was born in America, amen. I'm giving God glory because I got a Bible this morning. I want to give God glory because He loved me while I was yet a sinner. I give God the glory because I've got a good church to go to. I give God the glory I've had some decent health. There's all kinds of reasons I want to give God glory and God's praise this morning. Amen? I'm sick to death of griping about stuff. I want us to get into the glory room this morning. Amen? Now listen this morning, the second thing is that glory refers to God's holiness and His exalted magnificence, His divine perfection. In John chapter 1 verse number 14, And the Word, Jesus Christ, was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. In Romans chapter 1 verse 23, the Bible said about wicked nations, and this is exactly what America has done, It said they changed the glory of God, of the uncorruptible God, into an image made like unto corruptible man. I read a deal this morning where I don't know much about it, but some woman wrote a bunch of books on vampires. Anybody heard anything about it? I just heard she wrote a bunch of books on vampires. And they got kids going around high schools in America, you know, wearing vampire teeth and biting each other and playing out the vampire junk. That's what I understand. And come to find out that 10 years ago, supposedly, she was converted to Christianity from being an atheist. But this week, she decided she's done with Christianity. She got done with atheism. Now she's done with Christianity. Well, that old sister, she never did get saved. Amen. That old sow went back to the waller. Never was saved. Amen. And what I'm going to tell you this morning is this, that she got talking about, you know why she abandoned Christianity? She said, I'm tired of being equated with a group that's anti-gay and anti-feminist. Well, she never was with us, amen? God! Hey, I can tell you this, God's anti-sodomite. And God's anti-feminist movement. And there's a lot of things, you know what, she had carved out, listen to me, she had carved out, and she never didn't know the God of glory, she carved out a God that was a corruptible God in her mind, and I'm gonna tell you something, when you carve out a God in your mind that's not the God of glory, you'll always get disappointed. But when you worship the God of glory, the God of the Bible, and you submit yourself and align yourself with this book, I'll tell you what, he'll become more and more glorious to you as you get older. In Exodus 16, verse 10, let me get back on this thing. Thirdly, glory refers not only to praise of God and to the magnificent splendor and divine perfection of God, but it refers to the wealth of a king and his kingdom. In Matthew 6, verse 29, Jesus said, Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Matthew 19, verse 28, when the Son of Man shall sit in the throne of His glory. God says that glory is respective to a king that sits upon His throne. Then the Bible teaches Matthew 25, verse 31, when the Son of Man shall come in His glory and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory. And the fourth reason, the fourth way that it refers to glory in the Bible is a brilliant light which surrounds the presence of God. In the book of Exodus, chapter 16, verse number 10, the Bible said the glory of God appeared in a cloud. In Exodus, chapter 40, verse 35, the Bible said then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. And three times like this Moses was not able to enter because of the glory of God. Did you know something I really believe? We don't know much about the glory of God. We don't have much of the glory of God. in our country in recent years. I'll tell you what I do believe. I've read about the old revivals, and I've read about the old movies of God. I'll tell you what, when the Spirit of God and the glory of God would sweep through communities, and they was lined up on the creek banks to be baptized, 50, 60, and 80 people on a Sunday getting baptized because the glory of God swept through. You know what we really need this morning? We need the glory of God in our homes, our hearts, and our families again, and get our minds on that which is precious and that which is good. But the Bible said in Mark chapter 13 verse 26, Then shall they see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And aren't you looking forward to that day? I mean the Bible teaches in Isaiah chapter 28 verse 1 that glory is often referred to as beauty. And the Bible teaches that the spiritual condition of a nation can be referred to as its glory whether it has the glory of God upon it or whether it doesn't. And it said that the nation of Israel had the crown of pride And therefore her glory faded away. And I will submit to you this morning that the glory of the United States of America is fading away in the eyes of the people of this world. It's fading away in its own citizens because we have left God out of this country. And I want to tell you something, the only fix Now until you're not going to get fixed by the, sure ain't going to get fixed by the Democrat Party, and ain't going to get fixed by the Republican Party, and you're not going to get fixed by the Tea Party, you're going to get fixed by the glory of God returning to the hearts of this people, this nation. That's what's going to fix this country. Hey, said number six, the sixth reference to glory, by the way, I'm about to become a Tea Party member. I don't know where they're at, if I can find them. They say they're everywhere. I'm going to tell you something. I'll tell you what we need to be, lined up with the Word of God. If I find out the Tea Party's not lined up with the Word of God, I won't be with them either. But I'm saying I'm for anything that'll get us back to the Constitution and get rid of this big old centralized monster called the federal government that's eating the lung, liver, and the guts and the heart out of people in this country. Anyway, I better not get off on that. Anyway. Boasting. The sixth thing that glory is referred to in the Bible is boasting. I Corinthians chapter 1 and verse number 31 says, Let him that glorieth glory in the Lord. The Bible says in I Corinthians chapter 3 verse 21, Let no man glory in men. 1 Corinthians chapter 4, verse number 7, Why dost thou glory as if thou hadst not received? The Bible said that you don't have anything that you hadn't received. And why do you glory as if you had, as if God hadn't given it to you? It's said in verse chapter number 5, 2 Corinthians verse number 6, that your glorying is not good. In 2 Corinthians chapter 5, verse number 12, God warns us about those who glory in appearance, but not in heart. In Galatians chapter 6 and verse 13 it talks about glorying in your flesh. You know isn't that amazing that we glory in all rotten, stinking, filthy, nasty, hell bound, I mean sorry wicked flesh, but we glory in it. We walk up that mirror and go glory. How many of you walked up to the mirror this morning and went glory? Here's my favorite verse about this subject. In Galatians chapter 6 and verse 14, the Apostle Paul said, God forbid that I should glory save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ by whom the world is crucified unto me and I unto the world. Paul said, I ain't got nothing. I ain't got nothing to glory in except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. You know what's wrong with a lot of churches in America? They're glorying in their denominational. mechanism rather than glorying in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Now, in 1 Peter chapter 1 and 1 Peter chapter 5, verse 1, Peter is referring to primarily the coming glory of the king and his kingdom. That's what he's primarily talking about. He also is generally talking to all the glory following Jesus' suffering and death. In the Old Testament, I said, there's a messianic prophecy that runs in two strings, the suffering Messiah and the sovereign Messiah. I want you to listen to a prophecy out of the book of Isaiah concerning the sovereign Messiah and his prophecy. And I want to encourage you this morning that we're headed, boy, I want to tell you something, we're headed to good times. How many knows that? We are headed to good times. I want you to listen to this here this morning. I want you to listen to this glory. Isaiah 9, verse 6 and 7. For unto us a child is born. That was the first, that was his first coming. Unto us a son is given. Watch this. Here comes the sovereign line of prophecy. And the government shall be upon his shoulder. There's going to come a time when the government of the entire world, I got news for George Bush Senior, there is going to be a one world government someday. And it ain't the one he's thinking about, amen. It's going to be a one world government where the Lord Jesus Christ rules and reigns, amen. But, said there, the government shall be upon his shoulders and his name shall be called Wonderful, amen. When's the last time you called the leader Wonderful? With the heavens next to me counselor and it says the mighty God the everlasting father the prince of peace and of the increase of his government and Peace I wish all these peaceniks and these tree huggers understood Jesus Christ They're trying to bring peace in by man. I wish the United Nations, you know, ain't that a hellhole That is the cage of every foul spirit. I It says the increase of His government and peace, there shall be no end. It's like the old black preacher said, nobody going to vote him out. And he ain't resigning. That's not when Jesus Christ reigns, when He comes in His glory. There will be no end to his government nor to his peace. The Bible said upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom to order it and to establishment with judgment and justice from henceforth forevermore the zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. I'm talking about Peter said, hey, you may be suffering today. It may be tough. It may be rough. And everything you can see, humanly speaking, is wicked and sorry, low down and going to get worse. But he said, you're a partaker of the glory that shall come. Look beyond today. Look beyond the situation like it is right now. Look to when Jesus is coming back. When He sets up His kingdom, brother, it'll be right. Amen? There's not going to be any stupid judges making rules like this one did out here about the Arizona law. Whoever that judge is ought to be impeached and thrown across the water somewhere. Amen! I'm going to tell you something, I'm wound up like an eight-day clock. I'm going to tell you right now, I prayed and said, God, take every bit of fear out of me. I don't care whether, listen to me, I love you all. I'm glad you're all here. But I'll tell you what I wouldn't do. I'm not going to compromise the truth for one of you. How many of you all say, I ain't coming back next Sunday? I'm just saying, I love you. I'd like you to be here. But I'm going to tell you, there's one I want to honor more than I want your blessing and your friendship. Now listen to me, one of the major doctrines that the Holy Ghost used in Peter and his work is to strengthen the brethren. And this is what I want to get to this morning. I want to talk about the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. The glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. I tell you what, in fact, I said in verse one, I said, Lord, there ain't no way I can do this very good. I said, I'm going to give you my best shot. Amen. How in the world can anybody really preach and teach and out of your soul give the glory that God deserves? Amen. How can an old fleshly encased, I mean, redeemed sinner like me give the glory to God that he honestly deserves? But I want to tell you, first of all, the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ is seen in His resurrection. Amen? Oh, my goodness, I'm glad to come up out of the grave this morning. I'm glad, brother, that when I've buried Brother Forrest Lovelace, and when I've buried many of the loved ones and the saints of God, and Sister Marilyn, and I've seen the saints of God go down in their casket laid here, and we lowered them six feet in the ground, I'm glad I've got a glorious Savior this morning to come up out of the ground on the third day into life forevermore. Amen? who overcame death, held the grave. And let me tell you something about every other false religion in the world. There is nobody who has come up out of the grave like the Lord Jesus Christ did. He is the King of kings, and He is the Lord of lords. And I'm telling you, He is declared to be the Son of God, and by the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, God said. Romans chapter 1, verse number 4. Philippians chapter 3, verse 21. Verse 21 says this, For our conversation is in heaven, Woo! God said, you're not citizens. Watch this. You're pilgrims and strangers down here. You're real abiding places in heaven with the Lord. When are we ever going to get that? When are we really going to get a hold of the fact that as a child of God, we're just pilgrims and strangers of passing through? Our citizenship, our conversation is in heaven. Listen to it. From which also we look for the Savior. The Lord Jesus Christ. Watch this. Who shall change our vile body? He said, well, my body is not vile. Lift up your armpit, sour head. Your body is just as vile as mine, amen. Hey, it's rotten and stinking. I tried to tell my wife the first four or five years we were married, I tried my best to tell my wife I didn't need to use deodorant. I never did convince her, amen. She said, you need deodorant, whether you understand it or not. Amen. We live in a vile body. It's been cursed by sin. It's going back to the dust. But Jesus rose from the dead, and he's coming back. And the Bible said this. The Bible said this. He shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body. Someday, I'm going to have a glorious body from a glorious Savior. Amen. 1 John 3, verse 2 says, Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that we shall see Him, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. I'm going to have a new, glorified, resurrected body because of my glorious Savior who was gloriously resurrected from the dead. Nobody else in the world has got that, folks. And if you don't have Christ, you're sunk. You're gone. I'll tell you something, listen. Jesus Christ, when He came up from the dead, His disciples could touch Him. He was seen of over 500 brethren at once. He could feel. It was an incorruptible body. It was not constrained to gravity. It was not constrained to the material world. He could appear anywhere, move anywhere, go anywhere. Didn't need 747s. Didn't need helicopters. Didn't need a jeep, amen. Didn't need a pickup truck. He could just go, amen. I'm going to have new views from now on. Listen, you know what you'll do? You'll watch some stupid fantasy movie out of Hollywood and put half a month, you know, that's pretty neat. And Hollywood ain't even started on the thing. We are going to have a new glorified body like the Lord Jesus Christ. Well, I know that ain't much, but you know. You know what he did? He's on the Mount of Olives. And if there wasn't disciples, all of a sudden he just went up. So I don't know whether I believe that. I was like that and said this morning, that's your problem. You don't believe nothing. You better believe that. Because he ascended back to heaven. He's seated right here. And the Father ever lived to make intercession for us. The second thing I want to give glory to him about this morning, that's the glory. By the way, these are all, I don't get many messages like this. You know these real smart guys that go to seminary, they get these illiterated deals. Is that what they call them? And they all rhyme and match and everything. I just, I got one this week. And it all starts in ours. Now remember the first one is resurrection. The second one is His return. The glory of His return. The Bible tells us in 1 Thessalonians chapter 4, there's two phases of His return. How many knows that? There's two phases of the Christ's return. Turn to 1 Thessalonians chapter 4. The Bible said, But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that you saw not as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, there's the gospel, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. Amen, amen. And the Bible says, well somebody says, oh, I got there, we'll forget one time, I walked out from underneath the tent and this guy says, you sat in there and lied to them people while you was preaching. You told him that he was in heaven and that all that was in his grave was his body. I said, that's exactly right. How can Jesus bring them with Him if they ain't with Him? And what happens to the person to be absent from the body to be present with the Lord? Amen, well anyway when the Lord Jesus come back for the church for this we say in you by the word of the Lord that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them that means we won't go out before them with our sleep for the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangel and the trump with the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first then we which are alive remain shall be caught up together with him in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord wherefore comfort one another with these words I'm telling you something, that the return of the Lord Jesus Christ will be returning in glory, and the first part of His return, we meet Him in the air. He comes back first to meet the church in the air. Up comes the dead saints, and the living saints are translated, and we meet the Lord in the air. You say, I don't believe that. I'm sorry to you, but it's the truth. You're going to find out someday. It will happen. Amen. That the glory of the return is the glory of His rapture. I know the word rapture is not in the Bible, but the doctrine is. Let me give you a little something. There's first Thessalonians and second Thessalonians. And every chapter has the mention of the second coming of Jesus Christ. First Thessalonians is about the rapture. Second Thessalonians is about the glory of His revelation. Now you listen to me. What does it mean when we say the rapture? We're talking about the rapture. We're talking about when Christ comes back for His bride, the church, and takes them to heaven and has the marriage set for the Lamb. That tribulation, the time of Jacob's trouble. Get that down your brain. The first teaching about the tribulation in the Bible is about Israel in the land of Egypt as a picture of the tribulation. And I'll tell you something, when Daniel talks about it, he talks about the time of Jacob's trouble. It's not the time of the church's trouble. Unless you get that right, you'll never have it right. I said, I know my wife probably thinks she's been drunk through the tribulation, but I didn't mean to. Let me tell you something. The heavenly bridegroom, the Lord Jesus Christ, is not dragging his bride through the tribulation. Enoch is a picture of the church taken out. Noah, his family type of Israel going through the tribulation, the time of Jacob's trouble. The tribulation is all about Israel. All about Israel. But there's the glory of the rapture. Amen. Boy, I want to tell you, think about when the dead come up out of the graves. You talk about being translated. You're standing somewhere. The other day, I was standing by the hall of the Lord, and it came the next two seconds. Boom, out of here. The glory. Folks, that's the glory. There's a song we heard Sister Downing sings in this news up in Man Alive. She said, Gabriel, blow your trumpet loud. And here's what she says. And I will dance and leave the ground. Amen. I like that. I'd just like to do a jig with Brother Ralph and boom out of here. Amen. That's glory. That's good news. Amen. Then there's the glory of His revelation. The glory of His revelation. Go to Revelation chapter 19. Revelation chapter 19. Now if you come by McDonald's church for a snack, drive-thru snack, you've missed the deal today. We're closed. You've got to come in for the full deck meal. Amen. Here we go. Revelation chapter 19. Get in your Bible. Everybody there say Amen. Now we have the glory of the rapture, that's when he takes the bride out. We just read about it. Now we're talking about the glory of the revelation. That's at the end of Jacob's troubles. That's at the end of the tribulation period. And the Lord Jesus Christ comes back on a white horse. Listen to it. Verse 11. I saw heaven open, and behold, a white horse. And he that sat upon him was called Faithful, and Truant, and Righteousness, that he would judge and make war. His eyes was a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns. And he had a name written that no man knew but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word of God. And if you know your Bible, you know who it's talking about, the Lord Jesus Christ. And the armies, which were in heaven, what's armies do? They conquer and plight, kill and slay, conquer and they occupy. The armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he may smite the nations. And he shall rule them with a rod of iron. And he troth a winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written the King of kings and Lord of lords. Go to Matthew chapter 24. There is another account of this same situation in Matthew chapter 24. We get into verse number 27. We'll pick it up at verse number 27. For as the lightning cometh out of the east and shineth even unto the west, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. For wheresoever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together. I believe the carcass, they're speaking of the nation Israel. It looks like they're nothing but a dead carcass and the eagles are going to gather around and finally think they're going to devour the nation Israel. And gathered together immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be dark, And the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken, and then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn. And here it is, they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. You listen to me, folks, this world is accelerated its push of Jesus Christ in the Bible and God Almighty out of its existence. They are literally right now wanting to push all substance of Christianity out of all society. And as they do that, darkness is creeping in upon this world. Brother, let me tell you something. When the Lord in His glory comes after the church and takes the church out, there's not going to be any salt and there's not going to be any light. I believe Thessalonians teaches that the restraining and convicting power of the Holy Ghost will be removed from this earth, and God is going to give this earth what it wanted. It wanted the prince of the darkness, and they're going to get darkness. And the Bible says the sun's not going to give us light, the moon's not going to give us light, the stars will fall, and there will be total darkness upon the face of this earth. But the Bible says all of a sudden there will be a light and the glory of God shall shine and the Lord Jesus Christ will be revealed from heaven and will come back to rule and reign and conquer this earth. If you look, I'm talking about the glory of His resurrection. I'm talking about the glory of His rapture. I'm talking about the glory of His revelation. Then I want to talk about the glory of His rule. Turn to Psalms chapter 2. Psalms chapter 2 is a prophetic psalms concerning the coming back, the revelation and rule of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the book of Psalms, chapter 2, the Bible says this, Why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth have set themselves and rulers take counsel together against the Lord and against His anointed. Did you get that? The kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord. Now you listen to me real good. United Nations is repeatedly put themselves against God. When you put yourself against the people of Israel, you're putting yourself against God. This passage of scripture is a prophecy concerning that time and against the Lord and against His anointing. They don't want Jesus. They will say, verse number three, let us break their bands of sin and cast their courts from us. You know what they're saying? Don't you bring your Bible and all of its rules and regulations and all of its absolutes into our world. You get rid of all that stuff. We don't want anything about God in our lives. Verse number four, I love it. Verse number four. Mark it in your Bible. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh. God just laughs, amen. He says all these countries and all these rulers think that they're going to push me out of the earth I created and designed and it belongs to me and they think they're going to push me out. God's going to laugh about it. The Lord shall have him in derision. You know what that means? Bad mixed up. Amen? Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath and vex them in his sword pleasure. Yet, look at verse number six, have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. You know what this world doesn't want? It does not want Jesus Christ reigning in Zion. It does not want a government upon his shoulders that rules in justice and judgment, and they want to cast him out. It says right here, Yet I have set my king upon my holy hero Zion. I will declare the decree. The Lord has said unto me, Thou art my son this day. I have begotten thee. Ask of me and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Look at verse number 9. It is a reference directly to Revelation chapter 19. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron. Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. You listen to me this morning. The Jesus that this world is carving out is another Jesus. There is in our Lord Jesus Christ the greatest amount of compassion and mercy and grace that this world has ever known. The greatest amount of kindness, but let me tell you something, the individual or the country that rejects him will get his wrath. If you don't come to Jesus Christ and bow at His feet and acknowledge Him as King of kings and Lord of lords, there'll be a day when He'll take His rod after you. And it's a rod, not a stick rod. It's a rod of iron. And buddy, let me tell you something. Can you imagine somebody coming into this congregation with a rod of iron right now and just go slinging that rod of iron? Can you imagine when the Lord Jesus Christ comes back in glory with a rod of iron and dashes them in pieces like a potter's vessel? These nations are going to get busted so fast and so furious. He is going to conquer and rule and reign. It's going to be amazing. I have glory in it. I'll be glad when he knocks Moscow down. I'll be glad when he takes Washington, D.C. down. I'll be glad when he takes Tokyo down. You're listening. You've got to get your mind in this book. You've got to get your mind that we are not trusted in human governments. We are trusted in the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. God said he'll do it. He will do it. You better line up with him. You better line up with Him. He said in verse number 10, Be wise now therefore, O ye kings. Be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and ye perish from the way. When His wrath is kindled but a little, blessed are all they that put their trust in Him. I'm talking about the glory of His rule. And then fourthly, I want to say the glory of His rod. And I've really already preached on that. But I want to tell you something about His rod. You can read about it in Joel and Zechariah in Revelation chapter 19. I'm telling you something. Did you ever realize this, that in 2 Samuel chapter 24, verses 18 through 25, when David purchased the threshing floor upon which the temple mount was set, did you know that it was a threshing floor he purchased? Do you know what a threshing floor is? It's a place where things are beat out. And did you know that's exactly where Jesus Christ... Did you know what God's going to do? There's a mosque. Listen to me. There's a mosque. Omar setting on the Temple Mount today I've been there and walked up its steps Darkness satanic religion of Muslims is Residing in defiance. Did you know they've even done this they even bricked up the Eastern Gate? Plant and caused a cemetery to be put down the slope from the Eastern Gate and in defiance against the very passages of Scripture I just read you. Because the Muslims know that Jesus Christ in Scripture was a priest. And they also know that in the Bible that a priest is not to be contaminated with dead men. And he's not to be in a dead man's... And what they're doing, they put the cemetery there saying we'll keep Jesus out because it's dead. And we're also going to... I always laughed at this. The stupid things, they think that wall being walled up with brick, the door is going to keep the Lord Jesus Christ out of Jerusalem. That's how darkened and derisioned their mind is. That the Lord of glory who spoke this world into existence, that you can keep him out with a few bricks and mortar? And do they think they can keep him out because of a cemetery? He who every time he came near a dead person, they came up? Good grief of life. Amen. He who conquered death, they can keep him out of the cemetery? That's stupid! But that's how stupid you'll get when you don't believe the Bible. I'm talking about the glory of His rod. But that Temple Mount where that all sits was originally a threshing floor. And get this, five times in 2 Samuel 24 it says the word threshing. You know what the message is? You know where Jesus, did you know that number five is the number of grace? Did you know Jesus Christ took your threshing on the threshing floor enabling you to have grace of God to be saved? Brother, let me tell you something. Jesus is coming back to that threshing floor. And the next time he comes back to the threshing floor, it ain't him who's going to get the threshing. He's going to do the threshing. I remember one time Daddy talking about somebody down there where he lived when he was young. And old boy, Daddy, why wasn't he? He had come up, an old steam engine up the road. An old boy's coming up, an old steam engine up the road. And the old boy stopped and said something about, said, what'd he say to him? Where you going to thresh at? Yeah, he said, where you going to thresh at? The old boy jumped off the threshing machine and said, start right here, and started whooping on him. He was making fun. Well, his old tractor was kind of making fun of his statement, see? He said, where you going to go thrash at? And the old boy put her in park and said, start right here. I'm going to tell you something. You know where Jesus is going to start? When that sky, when that, it's going to be total darkness upon this earth. The Bible, I mean, the Bible talks about over in Revelation, they'll gnaw their tongue for the darkness. That sky splits in the glory of God. Did you know how God's going to whoop him with light? Do you know God can whoop you with light right now? I'll tell you what, if you don't think He can whoop you with light, take a welder. I can whoop you with a welder, with the light of a welder. You ain't never seen the light that God can put on. And when God comes back in glory and that light hits this earth, all they're going to be doing is wondering. Now watch this, watch this. In Genesis 19, there were a bunch of Sodomites trying to break the door of Lot down. And what did God get him with? Light. And they begin to just wonder, and this is what the whole world is going to be doing. They're just going to be staggering around, and He's just going to beat them like a potter's dash, a potter's vessel or two. Now, folks, let me tell you something. You listen to me. You don't let this world frame Jesus Christ for you. Because if you're not careful, they'll frame Him into somebody's picture up on the wall with long hair down to here, looking like a sodomite queer. with three little deals in his hands and feet. And that's not the Jesus of the Bible. I'm going to tell you what, if there's any picture we ever had of Christ in here, I'd want Him coming back in power and glory. You see, these people were saying, is this it? Are we going to die in persecution? They were being thrown to the lions. They were being burned at the stake. They were seeing their children captured. And they were saying to the Apostle Peter, is there no hope? Will He come back? And sometimes you think, is this what's going to happen to our children? What's going to happen to our grandchildren? I'll tell you what's going to happen to them. If you raise them for God, put Jesus Christ into them, God's coming back in great power and great glory, and he'll give them grace for what they got to go through. I've caught myself in recent days being afraid for my grandkids. But I'm going to tell you something. God has told me, he said, you don't be afraid for your grandkids. You prepare your grandkids. I'm coming back, Reggie. Do you think I'm just lying? Do you think this is just a joke? It's the truth. The Lord Jesus Christ and Peter's giving him this hope and he's giving him this strength. The Lord will come back in his glory. And I'm telling you something, that rod, our glory in his rod, amen? I want to see him whip him. I want to see him whip him. One time I had a dog, a three-legged dog named Rastus. And my friend down the road had a four-legged dog. And his four-legged dog and my three-legged dog Got into it. Now Rastus had his third, his old one leg was stout. Boy, I mean, he had a muscle. But that old dog figured out in just a half a minute that if he'd come on that leg or side of Rastus, he could take him down. I didn't like that, Donny. I didn't like that boy's dog whooping my dog. So you know what I did, John? I whooped that boy. I know that wasn't spiritual. But I didn't like his dog whooping my dog. And you know what I believe? I don't believe our Heavenly Father likes the devil whooping up on his children. And I believe it's going to come a day when God says, well, it may be whooping up on you, but I'm going to go whoop up on him. God, I tell you, that's just the best illustration I know to give you. I know it ain't right. You all know you ain't listening to a very saintly person. So don't get excited. By glory in His rule, by glory in His rod, and by glory in His reign. Do you know what the Bible teaches in Revelation 20 verse number 6? That He's going to reign in righteousness. There won't be no crooked lawyers to get you off on that. He's going to rule in holiness. He's going to reign in truth and in justice. And for a thousand years on this earth, that millennial reign, He's going to rule in righteousness and justice. There won't be no crooked stuff. Nobody's going to get by with it. Rule with a rod of iron. You'll walk straight, buddy, or he'll put you out. They won't be up for a vote. I mean, can you imagine being a preacher in the Presbyterian or Episcopal or whatever they are and having to face God with the fact that you had a vote on whether queers could occupy your pulpits or not? Can you imagine that? Can you imagine? I'll tell you what, you can tell them I said so. God's going to take a round of iron. I believe he'll cock them dudes right up like that and take them to hell. You say, well, surely God's not like that. Let me tell you something. You just read it. He's coming back in power and glory with a rod of iron. Dash him in pieces like a potter's wheel. I want to tell you something, folks. That's an affront to the holiness and the righteous reign of our Lord Jesus Christ. Now, I don't like it because our kids have been grown up and taught that Jesus is some kind of measly somebody walking along, can't hardly hold himself up. I don't like that. He's God Almighty. Amen? You better know the real Jesus of this Bible. I glory in his reign and I glory sexually in his retribution. And I know I've preached on these things, but Revelation chapter 19 says he's going to take the devil and the beast and the false prophet and cast them into the lake of fire forever and ever. I like that, amen? I like it. Glory to God, that makes me feel good. I'll do it again. God, drag him out of there and throw him again. I want to see it one more time. Amen! I'll tell you, the devil, you ought to hate the devil for what he's done to your life and your family and what he's done to this world. You ought to be glad to see God retribute him and throw him in the lake of fire forever. Amen. Amen. I'm going to tell you something. You may be a nice person out there, but you never received the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior. I'm going to tell you something. You have rejected God. God will throw you in the lake of fire. He'll bring retribution against you. Revelation chapter 20 verse number 10 tells us so. He said, I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God. And the books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. He said, the dead were judged out of those things. And whosoever's name was not found in the ram's book of life was cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. That's retribution, amen. You know what's wrong with our churches? 95% to 98% of American Christians in churches never hear a message on the retribution of God. They think somehow or another they're going to crawl through. They think they will slick into heaven somehow or another after it's all done. I mean, just cuss and drink and live godless and never go to church and never do this. I mean, just, oh. But somehow or another, we all just, he got in there somehow or another. You, you listen to me. You don't love the people you tell that garbage to. Why don't you get enough guts in you to tell somebody the truth? Why don't preachers have enough guts to tell people if they're not born again, they're not going to heaven, amen? They're going to hell. But the glory of his retribution, we've got to run. Then there's the glory of his restoration. I like this. The glory of his restoration. I'm talking about Romans chapter 10 and Romans chapter 11. Jesus said, have God cast off his people for which he foreknew, God forbid. The Bible teaches in Romans chapter 10 and chapter 11, those two chapters, against a satanic doctrine. of the replacement of the church, of the replacement of Israel by the church. The church is not replacing Israel. God's not done with Israel. He ain't even hardly started good with them. I'm going to tell you something. There'll be one of the Twelve Tribes sitting on the throne with him. I'm going to tell you, listen to me, Israel is going to be their nation. It'll be the king nation that rules the world. You won't like it. You read your Bible. He will be ruling in Jerusalem with the nation of Israel. They'll be the head of the nations. He's preserved Israel forever. Did you know what he said? I'm going to restore them. And the Bible teaches there is numerous passages of scripture where God talks about, hey, one of the greatest that you've ever heard is Ezekiel chapter 37, 38, what the valley of dry bones. And he said, what are all these dry bones? He said, they're the tribes of Israel. They're the people of Israel. And those little dry bones come up and they come together. And God said, this is Israel. I'm going to bring them up out of their graves. I'm going to bring them up out of all the nations that they've been scattered into. And I'm going to reestablish them again in the land. And that land, He's going to restore that land. It'll blossom like a rose. Folks, things are coming together right now. Amen? The glory of His restoration of Israel to Himself. And then there's the glory of His renewal. I enjoy this. How many had a garden this year? All right. I didn't get any corn from it. No, no, listen to me. How many enjoy good old roasting ears? Boy, them taters out of your own ground is good, ain't they? The ones you cultivate taste better. I feel sorry for folks who are living off the government. The food don't even taste good to them. Amen. You work for your food, it'll taste better. I love them big old tomatoes, don't you? Oh, and them cucumbers. Slice them cucumbers up and get them tomatoes out in a salt shaker. I'll tell you, you're almost in glory land, amen? But I'm going to tell you something God's going to do. But you know, we go out there, and if you ain't careful, there's a big old stinking nasty worm. Cut that thing off. Eat your tomatoes up. Worms up there at the top of your sweet corn. Awful creatures. Did you know I glory in the renewal of this earth? Because when Jesus Christ gets done, he's going to renew and take away the curse off the face of this earth. Did you know I'm going to tell you something? There might be watermelons growing on oak trees. I don't know. If there is, don't sleep underneath one. Amen? But here's what I'm telling you. God's going to renew this earth. There'll be no more curse. That's what the Bible said. There ain't going to be no thorns. You know what? You won't have to go out there. I mean, I can remember being a kid walking across the field in that old poor Joe and thinking, why don't alfalfa grow here instead of poor Joe? It's the curse. There won't be no more sin. There'll be no more curse. There'll be no more tears, the Bible said. There'll be no more death. Brother, I'm going to tell you something. He's going to renew this thing. And I'm honest with you. I'm telling you, this thing is cranking down. This thing is cranking down. I know you boys want to grow up and get married and have kids and you know and I'm all for you but you know what you just well do it in the millennial reign. Amen. Hey I want to give you kids something. My wife said this one time to me I'll never forget it. She said Reggie I can remember thinking I hope the Lord didn't come until I was able to get married and have a family. That's just a normal thing. You know when God puts that in his heart. And I got thinking about it. You know what? Well there's no problem. You say well Lord come back you can raise that family during the millennial reign. They won't have to pull weeds. Amen. I mean, tell you what, big ol' apples grow up there and no worms on them. There won't be no copperheads sitting there under the board. There won't be no spiders crawling up on your pillow at night going, oh! Amen. There won't be no more ticks biting on you. Chiggers. He's going to renew this earth. Amen. Then that's glory. Amen. You say, I don't know if I believe that. Oh, I feel sorry for you. You ought to start believing something. Thorns gone, sin gone, the eternal kingdom of God. I'll give you one more and we're out of here. How many knows how many I got so far? Lost track three hours ago, didn't you? This is my favorite and we're out of here. The glory, let's go down through it, of his resurrection, the glory of his return, the rapture and the revelation, the glory of his rule, the glory of his rod, the glory of his reign, the glory of his retribution, The glory of his restoration of Israel, and the glory of his renewal of the earth. Before I move to this last one, I just wish that the earth firsters would get a hold of this thing of Jesus restoring the earth. They wouldn't have to set up the top of them trees for several weeks. Isn't that stupid? This is my favorite. The glory of his redemption. The glory of His redemption. I don't know why this happened. I guess God just kept wanting you folks to get some good food this morning or something. But I went all the way through this message and thought, boy, I'm done. And God said, no, you ain't done. I said, what about, Reggie, the glory of the redemption that I gave you? Can I tell you something? In all honesty, of all the things I've preached so far, none of it would amount to anything for me if it wasn't for the glory of His redemption. If He hadn't redeemed me with His blood. And I'm going to tell you something. Oh, that will be glory for me. Glory for me. Glory for me. When by His grace I look on His face. That will be glory. Glory for me. Redeemed by His grace. Donnie got up here this morning. I don't like it when he does like that. Amen. I don't want him talking about my sin. Amen. I'm telling you, Donnie, half of us aren't going to come to church time if you don't quit teaching like that. No, you could tell. You could tell God's been dealing with him before we ever got here. God's been convicting him. And when I think about the glory of his redemption, I'm telling you something I know as I get older. I am so wicked. But, Terry, I'm not a godly man. The things I've thought and the things I've said between the time I was at this pulpit last week and here is enough to send anybody to hell. But I glory in His redemption. And my only hope, and no wonder the Apostle Paul said, God forbid that I should glory save in the cross. I can't glory to Him in how good I've been this week. I can't glory in how good a daddy I've been or how good a husband I've been or a good preacher I ain't been. But I can glory in that cross. And I can glory in His redemption. And it's no wonder. You see down there in 1 Peter chapter 5, it talks about a crown. You know, when we get to heaven, we'll take our crowns and we'll throw them at the feet of Jesus Christ. And man, I want to tell you something. If you want to know glory, you know the glory of redemption. When God forgave you and saved you and redeemed your soul and took you out of the bondage of sin and the power of Satan and delivered you into His glorious kingdom, that is glory. And I'll tell you one thing, I've never gotten over As I live and grow older, I realize the more I treasure the glory of that night when God saved my soul. The glory that He didn't let me die and go to hell. And I want you to know something here this morning, if you're here today and you're lost, if you want to know glory, you let God redeem you. You let God redeem you. Let's stand together. As our heads are bowed this morning, our eyes are closed together. The old apostle Peter said, a witness of His sufferings and a partaker of the glory. I wonder this morning this, are you a partaker of His glory? Are you a witness of His sufferings? Have you seen through the eye of faith that Jesus Christ died for you on that cross? By putting your faith and trust in Him in repentance of sin, Have you become a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed? How many people in this building say, Reggie, there was a time through the eye of faith I saw a dying Savior. I saw the Lamb of God suffering for me on the cross. I saw a Savior who died for me. I saw Him buried and risen from the dead, and I placed my faith in Him. Because of that, I'm a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed. I'm a partaker. of the glory of redemption. Would you raise your hand high this morning? I'm a partaker of the glory of redemption by His grace. God bless you this morning. You may put them down. I wonder if you're here today and you say, I'm not a partaker of the glory of redemption, but I'd like to be. I'm going to let these folks go in just a little bit, but I'm going to stick around in front of this church only for this reason. Is there somebody here today who'd say, I'd like to be redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, too. I'd like for you to show me how to be saved today. Is there anybody in this building who'd say, Pastor, I'm lost without God, and I need Him today. I need His glory. I'd like to visit with you right after you dismiss. Would you slip your hand up so I would know and be able to see? I want to visit with you after church today about receiving Christ as my Savior. Would you slip your hand up right high where I can see it? And I'll be glad to wait for you. after this service. Anybody anywhere? Father in heaven, I don't see a hand. And Lord, that's Your business. But Lord, what I pray now is for all those that could raise their hand and did raise their hand, that You'd help them to see beyond the bills that's hard to pay, to help them see beyond the aggravations of daily life, to help them see beyond the dismal condition of this nation, to help them see beyond the opposition to God in our country, a God that they would see the glory. I pray, God, make this people see thy glory that shall appear. And may, Lord, as we see that glory that shall appear, we will be a people with joy, vibrance and hope and gladness a people of anticipation to the future for the glory that shall appear in our Lord Jesus Christ. And it's in his glorious name I pray. God, thank you so much. Amen and amen.
The Glory that Shall be Revealed
In these days of bad news everywhere, if we would just get our eyes on glory, our attitude will be changed - for the better.
