Alright, now that includes more than just one area. And so, I'm not even going to try to cover it all tonight. There's enough to dwell on tonight without getting into different areas. But there's at least three we're going to deal with. Modest apparel, and then just modesty in, we're going to talk about makeup. Yep, y'all looking forward to that? We're going to talk about cross-dressing, mixing up the genders, but not tonight. Tonight we're going to talk about the attire of a harlot. And let me just say this before we get started. The sermon that you are about to hear is going to contain material that may be offensive to some people, surely will. And that's a disclaimer if you want to call it, but I claim it. I am not, I don't belong in this age. I guess I should have been born 150 years ago, but I wasn't. I'm here. But I do not go along with this age of whoredom. And it's wrong. I've got a Bible here that shows me clearly what the attire of a harlot is. And so I'm going to tell you tonight, and I'm going to shoot real straight, and it's going to embarrass you. Some of the things I'm going to say is going to embarrass you. So get ready to cover your face or whatever. There ain't no way to deal with people anymore except just straight up. There ain't no way. They can skirt around it. They can wiggle and squirm. They can excuse themselves, justify themselves, deny that they're any part of it, but you ain't going to be able to do that tonight because I ain't going to let you. We're going to name it. You need to understand, you girls and you ladies, you need to understand what you are and what you're worth. You need to understand why God made you like you are and what He expects from you and what is right. How many of you girls and women really want to do what's right and you want to be pleasing in God's sight tonight? Well, then you listen to me tonight. This is not an attack on women. This is an attack on evil. It's an attack on the deceit of the devil, this deceitful age that we live in. This is an attack that I'm making with the Word of God on all this fashion and this worldly influence that has got everybody's heart and mind and everything all tangled up. Got a lot of people deceived. and blinded, blinded, blinded to it all. You know, women and girls, they participate in it and they conform to it. in ignorance a lot. I'm gonna be real generous and say that most of the time what I think is that they're just acting in ignorance. They're deceived. I don't believe that's always the case. And I believe even in those who are ignorant, I think there is a portion of it that is just plain old wicked in themselves. It ain't just ignorance. It's the lust of their own heart. The Bible talks about silly women led about with divers' lust in the church. Now that's in the church that he's talking about. That's offensive right there, ain't it? I didn't say that. That's what the Bible says. It's talking about false prophets coming in and the silly women who are led about. That's how the churches get ruined. They're led about with divers lust. Women lust too. And that's why they dress like a harlot. That's why. Okay. That's the prefix. Now, 1 Timothy chapter 2 verse 9, this is the verse, And like manner also that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety, not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array. Now, I touched on this a while back and I said that, and I tried to make it clear that the Bible right here is not forbidding fixing your hair or wearing any kind of jewelry. It's talking about that's not how you adorn yourself. You adorn yourself in modest apparel. Okay, let's pray. Father, I need your help. Pray you'd bless this. Lord, as it goes out, I know it's truth and I pray it be received. And I don't know who in the world might hear this, but surely there'll be hundreds of people who will hear this besides the ones who are sitting here tonight. And I just pray you'd speak to their hearts too. I pray out there and amongst all these people, these women, these young women and girls, there would be some of them who would wake up and realize that they are being duped by the devil, by their own deceitful heart, and by the pressure of those around them and the bad examples that are set before them by other women, older women, their mothers maybe. and grandmothers, I pray you to wake them up and realize they need to live to please you and they need to live to honor their own self in this world. In Jesus' name, amen. Now, modesty is misunderstood by most people when it comes to the apparel of a woman or a female. The word has to do with being moderate. I hear that around our bunch a lot, you know, be moderate and moderation in all things. That's the thing they say. Well, that's in the Bible. Well, the Bible doesn't say that, but the Bible teaches that, that we're to be moderate. Right here is a place where it teaches that. Modesty is moderation. Modesty is properly, according to the dictionary, properly. I mean, it means properly, be proper. What's the word I'm looking for here? Appropriate. Appropriate. Dress appropriately for a woman. A woman's different than a man. A woman needs to dress appropriately because she is a woman. She needs to dress for that. There's things that need to be covered up. that don't need to be covered up in a man necessarily. And I'm talking about the shape and all of that and other things. Amen. We're just getting off to a good start, ain't we? It means restrained by a sense of propriety. Now, do you know what that means? Propriety means property. It means peculiar or exclusive right of possession, ownership. You dress in a way to honor who you belong to. Now, if you're married and you're a woman, you belong to your husband. The Bible says so. Your body is his, not yours. And it ain't ever whoremonger down the street and in the store and everywhere else. It ain't for him. It ain't his to ogle on. It ain't his to lust after. It's your husband's. And you ought to dress to protect his right to you. Amen. That's what modesty means. It means to have a sense of propriety when you dress. You dress to please your husband. If you're not married, you dress to please a father who's looking after you. And if you ain't got a father that'll look after you, you need to dress to please the Lord. You can do that. Now it means, on with the definition, it means not forward or bold. Not flashy, not to catch attention. You don't dress in a way that when you walk in a room it just turns heads and it says, look at me. You don't dress in such a way that you draw attention to yourself. Y'all understand that? Modest apparel does not draw attention to yourself. Not presumptuous or arrogant, not boastful as a modest youth, a modest man. It means not loose, not lewd. To dress in modest apparel means that a woman is restrained by her sense of who she belongs to. And I've already went through that. But she has no right to put thoughts in the minds of other men about her that only her husband has a right to. Amen. And if you're a young girl and you're not married, you've got no right to go around putting thoughts in men's minds towards you. I mean, what in the world are you thinking? What are you wanting? What is your desire? What's your motive behind that? Why do you want to show yourself? Why do you want their eyes on you? What kind of thrill do you get in your heart about that? What kind of heart you got? If that's what you got in there, why do you do that? What kind of heart you got? You got a black heart, I'll tell you right now. If she's not married and she's a Christian, she belongs to God and has no right to be in sight and lust and evil thoughts in the minds of other men. And if she's not married, she should have enough self-respect to restrain herself from showing her nakedness to anyone who wants to look. Amen. You know, we ain't even getting started. Now you better just hunker down because we ain't even got there yet. Now let me tell you something. God has so designed a female that she doesn't need much adornment. Say amen. She don't. The fact is she attracts attention naturally. She doesn't need all that stuff. She doesn't need to show her nakedness. She doesn't need to flash it. She gets enough attention just by being a female. That's without the help of all those adornments that defile the minds of those whose attention she attracts. And we're going to talk about that. And I cannot talk about them all tonight. But, I mean, that includes all the other stuff. Not with broided hair, gold, pearls, or costly array. And this here is not even touching this modest apparel, what we're talking about here. That's extra stuff, see? Woman does all that extra stuff to draw attention. the gaudy jewelry, the overdone makeup. I mean, that's just as bad as the nakedness. Yes, because it's saying the same thing. It's sending the same message, and I can prove it with the Bible. Yes, sir, and I'm going to, but not tonight on that. That's another time. We're talking about the attire of a harlot tonight. God designed a woman to be attractive to a man, so everything about her is attractive to a man. Y'all listening? You ain't going to hear this much and you ain't going to hear it like this very often, I'll tell you, so you better listen. Now I ain't going to preach this over and over and over and over and over, but it's needful and we're going to hit it. Let me tell you something, God designed a woman. When He brought Eve to Adam, when He took that rib and made that woman, God knew Adam because God made Adam in His own image and likeness. And God is with the woman, He is completing the image of God here. And it's a round and a round thing. God created man to be the object of His love. He made him in his own image. He made the woman in the image of the man, but it's like an opposite. When you look in the mirror, it's like you see the opposite, see? And He made her to please Him. Amen. You know, yes sir, I guess what the world defines now, I'm a sexist. Just write it on your list there, Mike Miller is a sexist, if you want to. If that's what it is, then yes sir, that's what I am. I believe in men and women. I don't believe in all this cross gender, cross dressing, cross... perverted world that we live in and their ways and their stupid ideas. I think it's wicked and wrong and I think it's wicked and wrong for people to sit in church and mix it all up like that too and claim to be a Christian. I believe in God's ways and I believe they ought to be honored. God made the woman for the man, not the man for the woman. He made her and he made her to be the object of his love and his attention. But not like the world and this wicked sinful world has turned it into. Not at all. Everything about her, he made to be attractive to the man. See, God made us. God made man, God made woman. Male, female. Everything about her, her hair. You know, women, they want to chop it off. I talk about it all the time. I just can't keep scissors out of their hair. It's your glory, the Bible says. Yeah. Moderation. Be modest. Does that mean you can't touch it? You just got to let it grow and drag the floor and let the split ends just split all the way up and it looks like a haystack and all of that? Is that what that means? No! But why do you want to buzz it off like a man? Why would a woman want to do that? And why do you want to wear it, cut plum off above your ears? You see these women, these old women, and they're fat and they've lost, they're shaped like a big old balloon and they cut their hair off, plum up above their ears. Now how does that look? How's that for glory? Ain't no glory at all. Why do they want to do it? I'm off on another, see it's hard for me to stay focused here. I gotta stick to my notes. We're not gonna get through this. We're talking about the tire of a harlot. Her hair is attractive to a man. And you women know that. I remember, and you know, you kids have heard me tell it before, but back about 41 years ago, we worked in this factory up in Piedmont, and that was the deal, you know. She would sit in the break room where I was out here working, and I could see through the door of the break room, and she would sit at the end of the table and brush her long hair. Why'd you do that? I can tell you, but you won't believe me. Oh, you knew I was looking. Yes, you did. See how hard it is to get them to be honest? You know it is. You know that the hair is attractive. You know that her feminine face, nobody likes a woman with a manly face. It scares you. And you don't want, you know, a feminine, a woman with a feminine face, it's, You know, it's attractive. And I'm not talking about sexually attractive. I'm talking about it's just beauty to look at. It brings pleasure to a man and not unholy pleasure. God made it that way. He admires the beauty in a woman's face, in her hands. Her hands are different. I can look at a little baby and see the difference in the hands. God made men masculine. Now the college are teaching about toxic masculinity. They want to emasculate and they've just about done it, all the men. They hate manhood, but they hate feminine too. They hate femininity. They hate womanhood. They don't want women to be feminine. They want them to be masculine, but they don't want men to be masculine. Explain that to me. They admire strength and stamina in a woman, but they despise it in a man. They're wicked. Man admires the feminine woman. That everything about her is attractive, her shape, her hands, her voice. We can all tell the difference between the voice of a man and a woman. Have you ever thought about it? It's just something that's there. You can hear a man with a high-pitched voice, but you can still tell it's a man somehow. I've thought about that a lot. How do you do that? What is there about that? But you can always tell. Now there's some women that talk, you know, like that. But you can still, if you listen to them for a few minutes, you say, that's a woman. Can't you? Don't sound very good. Anyway, but you identified everything feminine is appealing to a man. So you don't need all that. You don't need to show your nakedness. You don't need to dress like a harlot and a whore. And you don't need to act like one to get attention. You got everything in the world going for you if you're just a woman. And you'll just act like a woman. And the attraction is not all about sex. It's about much more than that. You know, it's the woman who turns the attention to sexual lust by the way she dresses, the way she adorns herself, and the way she carries herself. She says it with her actions, with her looks, with the way she dresses, and the way she walks. She says it. She tells you what she is. And that's the attire of a harlot. That's part of it. The attraction, it's not all about sex. And the woman who turns the attention to sexual lust by the way she dresses and adorns and carries herself, she cheapens herself down to that alone. And she has sold herself way too cheap. My goodness, girls! Why do you want to lower your value down to that? You're worth way more than that. You got much more going for you than that. Why do you want to give away, throw away, trash the thing you've got that makes you desirable? Why do you want to do that? A fair woman that is without discretion It's like a jewel of gold in a swine's snout. That's what the Bible says in Proverbs. Now that's a fair woman. One that's fair to look upon. A pretty woman. An attractive woman. With no discretion. She has no discernment. She does these things. She cheapens herself. And it doesn't really appeal. All you're getting is lust from men. You're not getting love. You're getting lust! God created the woman for the man, for the man to love and cherish and protect and provide for, not as an object of lust, but as an object of love. Now that's God's design. And that's the way God meant for it to be. That's why God made a woman and gave her to the man. And that's the way God wants it to be. If we live according to His will, that's the way it'll be with us. Woman who is living in the place God designed for is exactly what the man needs to make him more like God instead of more like an animal. And a woman who rebels and rejects God's divine design for her will make a man act more like an animal than the God who created him. You ought to listen to that and you ought to think about that because that is absolute truth. A woman who will be a woman is just what the man needs to make him more like God. more civilized, more tame, if you will, and not because he's henpecked, but because he loves her. She fulfills him. She completes him. She is what he needs. Man's made so that he has to have things in his life. He has to, oh man, there's some things I want to say, but I just can't hardly say them. Man is a man, and a woman is a woman. They need one another. A man don't need a partner that's like a man, you know. Woman, she can work, she can be tough, she can do all kinds of things, but that's not fulfilling to a man. What is fulfilling to a man is a woman that will submit and be his. I don't mean be his slave. I don't mean be his puppy dog or his sidekick or his toy to play with. It means be his. His to provide for, His to protect, His to love and cherish and possess. See, people don't like that anymore. They don't like to have somebody, you can't claim me. I don't belong to you. That's this modern women's lib that come out of hell. That's their philosophy and that's what they preach. And it's right out of hell. I told you that before. That's Satan's first line of attack. And get it through the women. Because he gets them to believe in all that junk. And they lose completely out. And we turn into a generation of whores and whoremongers. And that's the way we live. And it's all dishonorable and evil and wicked and there's no peace like I was talking about this morning. Marriages don't last. Marriage becomes meaningless like it is in the time we live in. See? Men marrying men, women marrying women, men marrying computers and everything else. Oh, there's just so much more. The idea of modest apparel is not to hide the attractiveness of a woman. Now get that out of your mind. You girls, you women, you get it out of your mind that the idea in the Bible of modest apparel is to hide your attractiveness. That's what the Muslims do. They cover her up from head to toe with a black veil so she can't be seen at all. That is not modesty. That's fanaticism and craziness. God didn't make women to be put under a black veil so nobody can see. Yes, you're right, Jacob. It's just bad, probably evil. I mean, it's evil. It's wrong. The idea of modest apparel is that she dresses and adorns herself to look as feminine as possible without crossing that line that caused men to think she's fishing and hunting and excites unholy desires. Modesty. Do you see? Modesty is... She's a woman. She's supposed to be attractive. She is attractive. But what are you wanting to attract? You want to attract lust? Or are you wanting to be honored? You want people to look at you as a person? As a soul? And as somebody that matters? Or do you want them to look at you as a piece of meat? Huh? a thing. That's just exactly the way it is, girls. It doesn't mean that she's to do nothing to adorn herself and just go plain Jane. It doesn't mean that she's not to dress and fix herself so that it hides or reduces her attractiveness. But there's some women that need to watch certain things more than other women. You get me? Some women need to be a little more careful about things because they've got more to show. I told you I'm going to shoot straight. If you ain't got it yet, I'll just stick the shovel in a little deeper. You can cover it up. I don't care how big it is. And you can make it so that it ain't the prominent feature of your presence no matter how big it is. You just got to buy more material. We're not talking about making women into these plain Jane Homely looking, you know, if they're pretty, make them, ugly them up a little bit. No, that ain't what we're talking about. But there's a line somewhere where the apparel and the makeup and the jewelry goes beyond and starts sending a message to other people, especially men. There's a point, there's a line there somewhere where you're fixing up, you're painting up, your apparel crosses this line and it starts getting the attention and sending a message. I'm for sale or I'm for free. I was reading Ezekiel last night and God, boy, did God, man, you think I'm being plain? God's plainer than I am. He's talking to Israel and he said, you played the harlot with the stones and the rocks, with the Chaldeans and with the Syrians and you just, that's what you've done. And said, you ain't been like a regular harlot. They get paid for it. You pay them. That's what God said. So you're different. You're backwards. You're reversed to everything else. You're some kind of harlot. How weak is your heart? Yeah, you women, how weak is your heart? How weak are you? You want to brag about being strong and you want everybody to respect you, you got to do better than this. You got to do better than this. You got to dress in modest apparel. But there is a line there. And she may not realize, now you listening to me? She may not realize that she's sending this message. She may just be following the fashions of those around her. But if that message is being received by the men who are looking at her, then she's gonna be held accountable for their thoughts of fornication. Now these women's libbers and these smart aleck big shots better wake up and listen to this. Jesus said, I say unto you that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." Now, a man's not going to be lusting after a woman if she's dressed in modest apparel. Now, that's just the way it is. If she is dressed like a harlot, he will be. And she is not innocent. They, he committed adultery with her. She is guilty too. You girls and you women, you're going to give account to God for every lustful thought that you put in the minds of men. You can say, he's a pervert. He ain't no pervert. God made him to want that. God made him so that that excites him to see that. And you show it to him. And then you say, oh, you're a pervert. No, you the pervert, gal, going around showing your nakedness and your shape and flashing and leaving nothing to the imagination, dressing like a harlot. You're guilty. Yes, sir. Thus the necessity of preaching a message like this. I hear it so much, you know, women want to run around naked and then blame men, curse men and down men and say, what a pervert. I've heard that so much. That ain't perverted for men to lust after women. It's wrong for men to lust after women. But that's our problem. That's a whole other deal. We've got to deal with that. We've got to look every day of our life. We don't get through a day without seeing uncounted naked women. On ads, you can't go nowhere. You can get rid of your computer, you can get rid of your TV, but we can't go to the store. We can't drive down the street. We can't look at any kind of written material. It is everywhere. We're faced with it all the time. Don't tell me that I'm a pervert. It's the perverts who run naked. Yes sir. Amen. Female perverts. That's what they are. And if you dress in the attire of a harlot, that's what you are too. You're messed up in your heart, in your mind, and with God. The Bible clearly shows that there's a way for a woman to dress that identifies her as a harlot or a woman who is making herself available for immorality. Now the Bible is very plain and I'm fixing to show you. I could go to all kinds of verses here, but I want to just say that the Bible speaks of the attire of a harlot. The Bible states clearly that the precise things about a woman's way of walking jewelry, makeup, hairdos, and clothing that show that she is looking for more than just attention from men. It's in the Bible. Plainly. It's condemned by God and revealed for what it really is. Now, in Proverbs 7, verse 10. And behold, there met him a woman with the attire of a harlot. There it is. And subtle of heart. You better mark her down, boys. The girl that wears the attire of a harlot has got a subtle heart. You better be wise enough to hear that warning. You ain't dealing with a pure-hearted girl. You ain't dealing with somebody that's got a pure heart and good intentions. You're not dealing with somebody that's going to make you a good wife and a good mother to your children. You're dealing with a harlot at heart. If she's dressed on the outside like a harlot, that's what she is in her heart. You say, boy, that is rough. Yes, that's rough, but I'm telling you the truth. I know that's right. The clothes you wear and the way you wear them send a message to others. Now listen to this passage of scripture here in Genesis chapter 38, verse 14 and 15. This is Judah. You know what happened, don't you? He kind of did her dirty. She married his son. He died. He gave her to the next son. He didn't want her, so he did something awful. God killed him. And then he said, well, if you'll wait around, I've got one more son. But he was young. So the boy grew up and went on, and here she is still desolate. She wasn't given to him. She wasn't given to him like he promised. He didn't keep his word. So here's what she did. She put her widow's garments off from her. So she was wearing clothes that showed that she was a widow, clearly. She got rid of them, changed her wardrobe, changed her uniform, put off the uniform of a widow, and covered her with a veil and wrapped herself and sat in an open place. Now you see what she did. She covered herself with a veil and wrapped herself. Covered what? Her face. Why'd they do that? So people wouldn't recognize who she was. Judah comes by, sees a woman with the attire of a harlot. He knew she was a harlot by the way she was dressed. That's what it says here. And said in an open place, which is by the way to Timnah, for she saw that Shelah was grown and she was not given unto him to wife. When Judah saw her, he thought her to be a harlot because she'd covered her face. He looked at her, one glance, harlot. Is that what you want people to think of you girls? You want them to look at you and say, whore, harlot, or these other words that people use for that, that's not very nice. And them words you're using, not nice, they're in the Bible. That's the very words God uses to describe you. What other words are there? What is there to call them? It's ugly, ain't it? Because it's an ugly thing to be. To wrap herself. That's not, now to wrap yourself is not the same thing as putting on clothes. Y'all listening to me? Wrapping yourself. What does that mean? Well, you wrap something around you. Wrapping yourself. It's like the slits in the dresses that come way up to here. She's wrapped, she's not dressed. She's got a wrap around, so that way she can give you a peek real easy and quick. That's the attire of a harlot. That's why they wear it that way. That's how they do their fishing, their hunting, their advertising. Set by the wayside and a man comes by and glances over there and she'll just give him a little peek. She ain't got nothing else on. Under there, it's the attire of a harlot. Same thing. You want to wear dresses and skirts slit like that so you can give a flash? People call them peek-a-boo dresses. You women know exactly what you're doing if you wear one of them and you do that. We went to church one time and I think I was preaching there and had a woman get up to sing or something. But when she come up, the steps right here. When she did like this, her dress come apart all the way up to here, bare leg. All the way up to here. Tire of a harlot. She knew exactly what she was doing. And she positioned herself exactly so that everybody would see it. She did it on purpose. Now you can call that innocent if you want. You're crazy. That ain't innocent. That is deliberate. It's from a heart that is hunting. Yes, sir, buddy. Throwing the bait out there. She's a fishing. She's a throwing a line in the water. See if anybody bites. Oh, they bite. Yes, sir. Church is the best place to go fishing. And they know that. Men know that. Because there's women there that are fishing. And you can tell by the way they're dressed. You can tell by the way they got their faces painted. You can tell by the way they carry themselves. You can tell by the way they look around with those eyes. The attire of a harlot included wrapping herself so it'd be easy to show a little nakedness easily and quickly. Do you all get that? She wrapped herself and sat down there. That makes it real easy. When you're wrapped, you can just... I mean, you don't have to pull it over your head. You don't have to do no buttons, no zippers, no nothing like that. Real easy, quick, nobody else can see. I mean, you can aim it right at the one you're wanting to see. I've seen young girls do that in church. I've seen them do it on purpose. To a certain boy. Tell me there ain't no wickedness there. Somebody needs to get up and cry aloud and spare not. Somebody needs to uncover them. Say, hey, what are you doing? A little peek-a-boo sent a clear message that she was available and ready for that. Now, back in the Bible days, you know, a woman sitting there beside the road, what did the man understand? When she's sitting there with her face covered up, that says he perceived she was a harlot because she had her face covered. She didn't want nobody to know who she was. She could go home, she could do all this and then take the veil off and go down to market and nobody knew who she was. It's kind of like Facebook now, you know, where everybody does. Yes, sir. It still works the same way now, a little peekaboo. The attire of a harlot, still the same deal, works the same way. That's the way women dress, like a harlot, so they can show a little when they want to. Little short skirts. And women that wear pants all the time don't know how to wear a dress. They get used to just going around with their legs spread open all the time. Very uncomely. I can tell a woman that wears pants because she may try to hide it and everything, but she'll come in and sit around. I can tell by the way she sits, because she done got used to sitting different than a lady sits. Amen, brother of mine. We ain't even got on that yet. That's a whole message by itself, and it's coming. We need it. Other people need it out there. So the attire of a harlot is such that she can show the parts of her body to incite lust in those she wants to entice. Here, let me just say this. Clothing that shows cleavage or the full shape of a woman's breast is not modest clothing. That's the attire of a harlot. You're showing your nakedness. Amen. Clothing that outlines or reveals the shape of a woman from her neck down is not modest apparel. It's not comely. But it's the attire of a harlot. If it shows her shape from her neck down, it's not modest apparel. Y'all listening to me? That's right! Clothing that uncovers her legs, that's not modest apparel. It's the attire of a harlot, showing neckiness, peek-a-boo. Clothing that shows too much skin is not modest clothing. It's the attire of a harlot. A woman can adorn herself in modest apparel without being plain and without being sexy. Are y'all listening? Modest apparel? You can't show yourself, girls. Ain't you got any more self-respect than that? to reveal yourself to everybody that comes by. A woman can adorn herself in modest apparel without being plain and without being sexy. A woman who feels that she has to dress sexy or wear the attire of a harlot in order to be attractive, she's very deceived and she has a lot lower opinion of herself than she should have. Amen. You don't have to be sexy to be attractive. Told you from the beginning, you're a female, you're attractive enough already. You got everything going for you to get more attention than you need just because you're a female. Amen. You need to understand that. Boy, that is the truth right there. Women used to be more concerned about their face and their nails. Now, I've thought about this. You know, women, when I grew up, as I think about in the past, women were concerned about their face and their nails. They'd paint their nails and do their nails, and they were concerned about their face. Yeah. What are they concerned about now? I'm fixing to tell you. You better duck. They have mirrors. Now they're more concerned about their rear end and their bosom than their face. They got mirrors in the stores and cameras where you can look at the screen and you can stand in front of it and see what the jeans look like on your rear end. That's how they buy their clothes, yeah, because they want to look sexy. They're more concerned about what that looks like than what this looks like. That's, you know, why? What is it in a woman's heart that makes her want to do that? That makes her think that way? What do you want in a man? Huh? What do you think of men? Huh? What do you think of men? Listen to me. Do you ever consider that? What is in the heart and mind of a woman who does that? Or a teenage girl who does that? Who dresses in a way to attract attention to her rear end? I remember Brother Norm talking to me one time and he was telling me about some guy he was talking to up at Walmart or somewhere. But anyway, he brought out the fact, he said, when you look at a woman walking away from you and she's got on a pair of tight jeans, he said, what do you look at? What do you women think that men look at? You got on your tight pants and you're walking and showing it? I mean, and most of them are so tight that if they had a dime in their back pocket, you'd see if it was heads or tails. There ain't nothing left to the imagination. You can see everything. I mean, they might as well be naked completely. What do you think men are looking at when you're walking away from them? You know that, don't you? You know that when you stretch them on, don't you? Don't you? If you don't, you are one dumb blonde or brunette, whatever you are. I mean, I'd be ashamed to be so dumb if you want to claim you don't know what they're doing and what you're doing when you put them on. And if you know what you're doing when you put them on, then you've got a black wicked heart. And don't you be a blaming and a condemning and a bad-mouthing men who lust after you when you wiggle it right in front of them and show it to them. Amen. Is this all plain enough? Women have been deceived into thinking that in order to be attractive they have to be sexy and dress like a harlot. You're deceived if you think that's the way it is. But most women do think that's the way it is, don't they? What kind of clothes are selling? Women don't want this, I hear all this junk about being objectified and all of this and what a crock! Makes me so mad to hear women talk like that and then they go down there and buy that harlot clothes and put them on and prance around. They've been, they're deceived. Now, men look at women completely differently according to how they dress. You women need to understand this. And I've told my wife this, I've told some of you guys this, this is the way it is and you know it's the way it is. A woman who dresses sexy will get more ogling from men and more attention as far as dirty remarks and propositions. But a woman who dresses modestly will get more respect from men. I've had a lot of women tell me that when they quit dressing like a man, quit dressing in the attire of a harlot, that they noticed the drastic difference in the way that men, strangers, treated them. The way they looked at them, the way they spoke to them, the way they opened doors for them and spoke to them with respect. It's absolute truth. You little old sexy hot thing, you're going to get treated just like a piece of junk. You're a thing. Men look at women completely differently according to how they dress. When the attention is drawn to a woman's face by the way she's dressed, men look at her as a person. And that's the way you ought to dress. If you want to dress modestly, you girls all listening to me, if you want to dress modestly, you dress in a way that when a man looks at you, the first thing he looks at is your face. Not your cleavage. Not your big old breast that you've got stretched under plastic wrap. And not your rear end that you've got stretched out there for them to look at. That's the only way I know to put it. Ain't no need of beating around the bush. Dress so they'll look at your face. They'll respect you. They'll treat you with respect and honor. Much more than they will the other way. When the attention is drawn to your body, your hips, your cleavage, you're just an object. Let me tell you this. When men look at you, they don't even look at your face. They wouldn't know you if they seen you some... You dress like that, that's what they're looking at. They don't even notice your face. They don't even think of you as a person. You're a thing. You're just another body, another thing to lust after. That's the truth. Men in here will tell you that's the way it is. Now, do you want to be thought of like that? Is that what you want? You want men to just look at you as a thing, a doll, an inanimate doll? That's where we're at now. I see this all the time. I guess it's a big deal. You know, they're making these robots and sex dolls now, and men would rather have them. In Japan, that's what they've done. The men over there, they give up on the women. They'd rather just have a doll to play with at the house, just like a child or something. Sounds pretty bad, don't it? You women are losing the battle. I mean, it's getting to where men don't even want you anymore. No man wants a whore for a wife. He wants a whore for one time. That's it. Amen? Is that right, guys? Man wants a wife. He wants somebody that's chased and not chased by everybody around. pure, that's got some honor about her, that's got something that she ain't let everybody else in the country have. Something she saved for you. Boy, that's getting mighty, mighty rare nowadays. Let me go on here. I'm going to be done in a minute. She becomes just a thing that a man wants to devour in his lust when she's dressed like a harlot. Why would a woman in her right mind want to draw that kind of attention? The thing that women don't understand is that not only do they get the attention of the men they're aiming at, but they also get the attention of men that they're not aiming at. You like them dirty, scroungy-looking perverts that are wandering around in Walmart and everywhere else? You want them lusting after you? You want them lusting after your teenage daughter? Well, you must if you dress them that way and prance them through the store and out in public and everywhere in front of them. You think only the good-looking guys look at them? Do you? No, the weirdos do, probably more than the good guys do. So that's what you're advertising to, the low class. That's what you're fishing in, the swamp and the sewer. That's what you're fishing in, girls. You want to show what you got? Man, you're putting your hook in dirty water. Better realize that. Mothers that dress their young daughters like a harlot are causing wicked men to lust after them and putting them in great danger in this evil day that we live in. That's just another peeve of mine. That makes me very angry. They'd sex up these young girls and prance them around in front of everybody and then they act like it's something they just can't understand when one of them gets carried off and all that happens. Don't you realize that there's men everywhere, and I've tried to teach my girls, and my wife, and every other woman that'll listen to me, you have no idea how easily a man can handle you. I know all these women, and boy, they're tough, and boy, they'll fight, they'll fight, fight. You ain't nothing but a rag doll to a man, and a weak man. is way more than what you are. If you don't like it, you can lump it because you ain't right. I guarantee you, you won't even know what it's like for somebody who's a man who's lust crazed because you or somebody else has done him that way with their dress and their ungodly attire. You don't know what it'd feel like for him to get a hold of you. I'm telling you, I ain't met a woman yet that was that tough. Now, you say, well, they're out there. Well, bring one, let me see. I'd like to know how tough they are. It's more of your deceived heart. You are the rabbit, and he is the hunter. Men hunt. Now, the adulterous hunts. That's what these women are doing. They're fishing, but man, they are playing with dynamite, and they don't even know what they're doing. Men are stronger than women, physically stronger. The Bible talks about her being the weaker vessel. She's weaker in every way. You say, well, I know some women that are stronger than you. Well, bring them on, bring them on. Yeah, show them to me. I've lived 60 years. I ain't seen too many. I've known some pretty tough women. Dad had a girl whoop him when he was a boy, but her name was Bertha, so that ought to tell you something right there. She pitched hay. But I'm telling you this is the truth now and you women need to listen. You need to have some fear in you. Some fear that'll restrain you and make you realize what danger you're in. I don't like it for her to go somewhere by herself. I don't like it when you girls are off by yourself shopping and driving all over the country. You are so vulnerable and you don't even know how vulnerable you are. You are easy prey and easy picking. and you're in more danger than you can imagine. Modest apparel is really very simple. A woman can dress nicely and have some class without using sex appeal to get attention. Yes, you can. You can be classy, not trashy. Remember we preached about that some months ago? Classy. These are rules you can just think of. I mean, that you can remember and it'll guide you in your way of dressing. Please listen to me. You can dress so that when he looks at you, he'll look at your face and not your body. You can wear clothes that don't reveal the outline of your figure. You may have a wonderful figure. Why do you want to show it to everybody? Why do you want people to see it? You know, we read a thing here, it's been a year or two ago, but it was the bikini came out back in the 40s, I guess, after World War II and it was in France, of course. And they couldn't get a model to model them in France because the women all said, no, it's naked. I mean, I'm not getting out there naked. They finally got a woman that would do it. And now it's, man, you don't wear a bikini? What's wrong with a bikini? Yeah, she was a stripper, by the way. That's why it didn't bother her too bad. I mean, if you're a stripper, why would it bother you to wear a bikini? You'd feel clothed in a bikini, I guess. And that's what's happened, see? Women have went so near naked for so long, they don't even feel it anymore. They've got used to it. They've got used to the dark. And all the rest of us have too. Well, the women have. The men haven't. It still incites as much lust in men as it ever did. Oh yeah. Women know it and that's why they keep doing it. And why do these celebrities feel like that the way to climb the ladder of success is to get more and more naked until you get completely naked and then everybody in the world sees you naked. That's their ultimate thing. Why? Because you're living in a world that's full of whoredom and ungodliness. Dress so that men will look at your face, not your body. Wear clothes that don't reveal the outline of your figure. To cover it up doesn't mean to shrink wrap it in leggings or pants or a close-fitting dress or skirt. Our Pentecostal friends, you know, they dress, boy, they dress in them dresses, but they're usually so tight, and they always got a big slit up them. That's not modest apparel. You can put your hair in a bun, you can dress, have your dress to the floor, and be as sensual and sexual and immodestly dressed as a woman in a bikini. Amen, amen. I've seen a lot of girls in the Baptist church. I've seen it all through the years. Same thing, same thing. Well, I'm wearing a dress. Yes, a dress. It's so tight you can see every detail of your anatomy. I've seen them wear dresses so tight you can see their crotch. and say, I'm wearing a dress. Or wear it so short that they can't sit down without showing clear up to their crotch. It ain't modest. It's the attire of a harlot. You're giving a peekaboo. That's what you're doing. Boy, they just make me popular. I wonder how many will listen to this. I'm going to title it, The Attire of a Harlot. That ought to get the attention. I found that out, boy, the way you title them messages really makes a difference in who listens to them, how many listen to them. We had almost 600 last week on Sermon Audio alone. 598 in one week. So somebody will hear this. It may go way down after this, but that's okay. It's the truth. It needs to be said. You girls need to hear this, and you boys need to hear this too. You need to have some wisdom about girls. Boy, why'd I hope that you learn enough sitting here in church that you don't grow up and marry one of these girls that does like that. Better not look at these. Just read Proverbs 6, 7, long in there, 8, about that strange woman. That's the verse I read. A woman with the attire of a harlot. She got his attention. He was wandering around down there near her corner. And there she was. And she got him. She got him. She threw the bait out and he took it. And it's the way to hell, the Bible says. And everybody, every man that goes there, he never returns. That's what the Bible says. You go the way to her house, he never comes back. He never makes it back. Scary. You boys better listen to this. You better learn to recognize the attire of a harlot. You better learn to discern and think and consider this woman, girl, you're looking at and what she is in her heart by the way she dresses and what she shows you. You boys listening? If she'll show it to you, she'll show it to somebody else. If she'll fornicate with you, she'll fornicate, she'll adulterate on you after you get married. Yep. I read a thing of a marriage counselor and that's what he said. He said in over 30 years he had never dealt with a couple that was having trouble in their marriage because of adultery in their marriage. He had never dealt with one single couple in over 30 years that didn't have fornication in their history before they got married. Think about that. You need to consider that because that's a fact and that's the way it is. You need to learn to watch. Why would you be attracted to some little old girl that'll just show you everything, and play with you, and toy with you, and tease you, and peekaboo, and try to attract you with that? If there's any kind of righteousness in you, any kind of honor, any kind of wisdom at all in you, boys, that'd be a turn off, boy. Fast. Why you want some old tainted, defiled person who's defiled in her heart and body? Why would you want that? Man, that's rough. It's the truth. We're talking about your life. You're gonna have children. She's gonna be their mother. What if you have a daughter? As the mother is, so is her daughter. Mercy. Okay, let me get back to it here. I'm about done. Hang on. She can wear dresses that are loose and layered and look elegant and feminine and attractive. You girls can do that. You can wear a dress, you can wear a skirt, you can wear clothes that make you look classy and nice without making you look sexy. without causing that kind of thought in anybody. They look at you and think, wow, beautiful, pretty, without the bad thoughts. Now guys, am I telling the truth? Yes, sir. That's exactly the way it is. Dresses that do not come up to their thighs when they sit down or bend down, that's not modest. Those kinds of dresses and skirts are peek-a-boo clothes, and they're the attire of a harlot. It's revealing your nakedness, and it's wrong in the sight of God, and it causes others to sin. The Bible says in Isaiah chapter 47, verses 2 and 3, I'm just going to jump in in the middle of this, God's talking. He said, take the millstones and grind meal. All right. What's the position you're in when you're grinding meal with a stone? You're bent over or squatted sitting down. Got it? Alright, you got that picture in your mind. Uncover thy locks. Well, what's locks? Hair. Make bare the leg. Uncover the thigh. Pass over the rivers. Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea thy shame shall be seen. I will take vengeance and I will not meet thee as a man. That is too rough for me to get real plain about, but hopefully you can understand. It's the progression of taking it off. Be naked. Your legs uncovered, you're naked. You might as well uncover it all. That's what he's saying. How's that strike you? Now that's God's definition of neckiness. You gonna uncover your legs? Might as well uncover it all. Men understand that. Men understand that. A woman's legs are attractive to men, but not in a holy way. No. Women know that. That's why they show them. They use them to attract the attention of men. And all of us are not ignorant about it, girls. Women, when I see some young girl or some woman doing that, I know exactly what she's doing. I ain't ignorant about it. I know what's in her heart. I know what she's thinking. You boys better wise up and learn that lesson. One of them will get you. She'll get you with that junk. All right, it's revealing your nakedness. All right, let me move on. I've got just a little bit more here that I want to say tonight. She can wear blouses or dresses that cover her bosom and upper arms. Sleeveless blouses reveal too much skin, girls. Ladies, say amen. You men ought to say amen. You know they do. What's a sleeveless blouse? It's a peekaboo. You ever see them wear sleeveless blouses where they're tied around their arm here, where all you can see is their arm? You ever see them wearing like that? No! They're loose, and they're way down here. And they reach around. Look! Boy, it's quiet. You need to think. Why do you do that? Why do you want to do that? It's comfortable. Well, that's most important, is you're comfortable. That's the big excuse women give nowadays. They've got to get naked in the summer because it's too hot. All the pictures I see from time past, they didn't seem to have that problem back before they had air conditioning, before they had cold drinks or refrigerators or anything. They didn't have that problem. Women wore long dresses in layers and layers and they worked through the summer in a hot kitchen, in a hot house, and they didn't have to get naked. Their peek-a-boo clothes, they achieve the same thing that the attire of that harlot does that we read about a while ago. Flash, give you a peek. Give you a peek. Is that what you girls want to do? It doesn't matter if you take my advice or not. I mean, I do care, but it's not going to change what I think one bit. I know what I'm saying is right. I mean, it is right on the bullseye. And whether you take it or not, that's up to you. You'll answer to God for it. I'm giving you good counsel tonight to you women and it's helpful to the men also if they'll listen. Mercy. If a woman doesn't care about this matter and is not careful about how she dresses herself and won't consider all these things when she's made aware of them and shown from the Word of God, then she hasn't an ounce of godliness in her heart. Amen. That's what I believe. If you can hear all this and you can just reject it and spit on it, I don't believe there's an ounce of godliness in you. I believe you're a wicked-hearted woman. That's what I believe. Amen. You ought to consider it. You ought to think about it. You ought to consider it coming from a man who cares about you and who's looking out for you and wants the best for you and wants you to be protected and don't want all this trash in your life. Man, ain't nothing makes me madder. We go to the store. When we come around, you know how you go through Walmart and you check out and you go down the front and there's all them old men ogling the women as they go by. I watch them. I watch them as the women go by in front of us and watch their eyes. You ever do that stuff? Pay attention, people. See how the world works. You women ought to pay attention. You ought to take a look at that sometime. Just suddenly turn around and see where they're looking at you. You like it? You like to feel their eyes on you? You wouldn't if you knew what they were thinking about while they were ogling you up and down. And you're providing the entertainment for them. You say, man, her heart is defiled and she's full of lust herself. And she's dressing like a harlot because that's what's in her heart. And one day it will be revealed for everybody to see. That's the way it is. Titus 2 and verse 4 and 5. Talking about the older women that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed. That's the way it's supposed to be. Jeremiah chapter 4 and verse 30. And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair. Thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life. You women better listen to me. It ain't no attack on women. It's just things that need to be said. Now, have I been fair to you? Have I said you got to dress like a plain Jane and be a homely little thing and just make everybody think, well, poor little homely girl. You got to make yourself ugly so that men don't lust after you? Is that what I've said? No. And when we get on the rest of this, you'll see the same thing. Modest means not overboard. You know, Christianity is the only religion that honors women in the world, really. Do the Muslims treat their women? No, they treat them like trash. Yes. So do all the other countries, religions, cultures. The only place where women are treated with honor and respect is where there is biblical, real biblical Christianity and real godliness. in the men. That's the only place where women are treated with honor and respect. Women do have a high place. Man, you ought to take it and not cheapen yourself down and throw yourself away with such base, lewd junk. You think a man's ugly? It's ugly for a man to be full of lust and lusting after women all the time? Well, it is. It's just as or more ugly for a woman to go around dressed like a harlot, lusting after the men and causing them to lust after her. It may just be a game with her for a while, but it won't end as a game. It'll end with the real thing. Think about it, won't you? Moreover, because the Lord saith, because the daughters of Zion are haughty and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go and making a tinkling with their feet. God pronounced judgment on the country. Got a lot more to say about this subject. I hope you'll look forward to it and I hope you'll patiently listen and consider it. But there's a whole other realm when we go to talking about your face. Men will look at your face, but you need to have that shame face in this there and not a clown face with paint and all that. I don't want to talk about that now. Let's stand. Now, I know how it is here. A lot of you are my family and stuff, and we're just a small church, and I don't get a salary, so I've got freedom to preach stuff like this that other preachers just can't without throwing it all to the wind. So, it's something that's rare. We ain't the only church, and this ain't the only place you can hear the truth, but I'm telling you what you heard tonight, you ain't gonna hear it in very many other places, and you know that's the truth. Because we live in a society and a culture that has demonized all of that I've said. All that I have preached against and called whoredom and harlotry, they glorify it and worship it. And so, you know, I'm really going against the current. But it's the truth. and I've read it to you from the Bible. And when we get to the next part, I've got a whole lot more scripture to use in that area too. And it's clear to me, very clear to me, what God's mind is in this matter. Amen. Alright, let's bow our heads. And we're going to have a word of prayer. And before we do, I want to know, everybody keep your heads bowed. I want to know, you girls, you women in here, are you going to resolve to watch the way you dress and the way you carry yourself and the way you present yourself in public and especially in the presence of men? Are you? Raise your hand, tell me if you are. I hope you learned something tonight. Amen. I appreciate it girls, everybody. You know, I'm just trying to protect you. Really, I am. We're not downing nobody here. I'm downing evil and what's wrong. And I'm against it, and I hate it, and I'm going to fight it till the day I die. And as long as I've got enough strength to speak or write it or do whatever, I'm going to keep on saying it. Right's right. And if we want to have peace this morning, what do you got to have? Righteousness. We got to do right. There ain't no peace to the wicked, and that's wickedness. Let's do right. You need to consider the men around you, the men that you put yourself in front of. You need to consider them when you put on your clothes, when you buy your clothes. When you dress yourself in the morning, you need to consider who's going to see you today, and what they're going to think, and what they're going to see that they shouldn't be seeing. Amen. Do it. Do it. Father, thank you for the Word of God. Thank you for the opportunity and the privilege to be able to preach this message. I pray, Lord, that it would help these ladies and these girls. Lord, I don't want to see their lives messed up. I don't want to see no more troubles in the future. Because of these kind of things, we can avoid a lot by just obeying your word and taking our counsel from your word about these matters, these practical matters in life. We live in a world and a society that mocks this. They make fun of it. They despise it and hate it and act like we're crazy for thinking that There's anything wrong with anything about the way people dress. Your word has a lot to say about it. And we saw here tonight that there's a way that a woman, a girl, can dress that identifies her as one of these kind of people. And I pray these girls and ladies would realize that. And if they've done it in ignorance, I pray they'd repent of it and resolve not to do it anymore. And Lord, I pray you'd help them to be aware as going forward here and that they'd buy their clothes and make their clothes and plan and dress themselves in a way that would honor you, honor their father, honor their husband, and not bring reproach upon themselves, their family, the church, your kingdom. Help them, Lord. I pray you'd give understanding where I just muddled it up here tonight. Pray you'd help us to do your will in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen.
