Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. This is the Lamp and Light broadcast coming to you from Central Baptist Church in beautiful Ocala, Florida. Lamp and Light is a ministry that takes a book of the Bible, verse by verse, teaching it as it is to men as they are, without compromise or apology. while at the same time speaking the truth in love, giving the lamp and light to all. Today we're continuing our answer series with more of our listeners' questions. Please listen as Dr. Bloom answers these questions. And now, here's our teacher and radio pastor, Dr. Andy Bloom. And sometimes my friends out there that are listening, I might say something that doesn't seem quite right to you. And you might write for clarification and ask me, is that what you really meant? Because sometimes it is not what I meant or you just misunderstood or I didn't state it clearly. And listen, I can misstate things and I can say things in a way that are not clear. And I would love to clear those things up than rather mislead anyone. I don't want to mislead anyone or confuse anyone. Okay, let's go on to our next question, Mr. Announcer. A listener from the Tri-Cities, Washington area writes, I thank my Lord Jesus Christ full-heartedly for this. Knowing our Father and God, Lord Jesus Christ, will work through me. Keep living for our Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior. Okay, I've heard some people from the state of Washington and some other areas around, but this kind of a question, I think that this is one of the first ones that I've had from them and the question of this nature. So this is my answer to them. Thank you for your comment to Sermon Audio. I appreciate the fact that you not only listened to our broadcast, but you were kind enough to send a comment. I know that you would disagree with me on music that is holy and acceptable unto God, but at least you were so kind in your response. I appreciate your encouragement to renew my mind in the Lord Jesus Christ. I have been doing that each day since 1974. The more I do, the less I desire the world and what pleases my flesh. I have grown to love righteousness and true holiness all the more, putting off the old man with the affections and lusts. As Paul, I have not attained But I am pressing toward the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. The more one renews his mind in Christ Jesus, the more distinctive he becomes from world religion and styles of so-called worship. I found that in worship the audience is only one, God. I do not want to offend him in any way with anything that would be acceptable in the strip clubs and dance floors. Instead, I want to be sacred, holy, and acceptable unto Him. That's why I must daily renew my mind. So thank you once again for writing us and concerned in this area, and thank you for your kind encouragement. All right, Mr. Announcer, let's go on to another question, if you will, please, sir. Another listener writes, We listen to your program regularly in the Winter Haven area on Florida 90.3 FM. My husband and I are in our 70s and would like to begin a devotional time together each day. But we're not sure how to go about it, except to pick up the book of the Bible and the commentary and study from there. Do you have any suggestions? Okay, here's another listener in Winter Haven, Florida, and listen to us on 90.3. And again, we are encouraged by that, by our listeners from 90.3, as well as the Fundamental Broadcasting Network. We've had several that have heard us over these two areas particularly, and we'd love for you to write us with your questions, as well as your letters of encouragement. I hope that you'll continue to do that. So let me just go on into the answer I sent to these folks. Thank you for your kind email I received from you today. It is a real encouragement to know there are people who faithfully listen to Lamp and Light. They asked me that next time I'm in the Winter Haven area to let them know if I'm going to be preaching anywhere, they would love to come and hear me preach. And so I hope that they will. I do preach to college from time to time, and maybe they'll come up to the college to hear us preach. And so I even sent to them at that time a date that I would be preaching at the college, and so we went on from there. Well, as far as a family devotional time is concerned, it blesses my heart that you are going to be doing this together. Now, I get up around 5 o'clock a.m. most mornings, except Saturday. I spend the first hour after a shower and so forth and getting dressed, I spend the first hour with the Lord. This gives me time as I go through the day to think on what I've read. That evening I'm able to share with my wife a portion I read that morning and something God showed me through it. Now I suggest for you to start in the New Testament. Read a portion of the chapter and then discuss it together. As you stick to the same book of the Bible, you can read ahead in order to think on what you will share that evening. At prayer time, I normally ask my wife to pray for a specific request. When she finishes, I will pray for other requests. Make sure you schedule the time you read together as a couple. Failure to plan usually means you plan to fail. Have the time set aside. As your husband reads the Bible, listen closely, then share your hearts, one with another, about the reading and its application to one's life. You can read my Building Blocks booklet, of which, by the way, folks, I mailed that to them. It gives some ideas of how to study the Bible. And I would encourage you to maybe go through the booklet together for your devotions before getting started on a book of the Bible. I hope this is helpful for you. And thanks once again for listening to the Lamp and Light broadcast. Please ask your friends to listen because that's how the lamp and light grows. and so we thank these listeners again, another listener in the Haines City area and they're in Winter Haven, Florida, so I appreciate that. Okay, and praise God for the internet because this next question is from an internet listener, so let's have the question by our announcer. Pastor, an internet listener writes, Job 36 26 states the number of God's years are unsearchable. And again in Psalm 102.27 states the number of God's years are without end. And again in Isaiah 40.28 states that God's understanding is unsearchable. Psalm 107.5 states His understanding is infinite. Is it reasonable to say that in Psalm 145 verse 3 that says God's greatness is unsearchable is because it is infinite? Okay, good question. The Lord is the eternal God. All else, He created. Himself, He is not created. He always was. Now there is much we can know about Him and His greatness. But we cannot know all. We can only know what He allows us to know. We were created in His image, unlike angels. I believe throughout eternity we will examine, study, and rejoice as He allows us to discover more and more of His greatness. As He is all-powerful and all-knowing, He is also all-great. I believe, one million years into eternity, we will be studying His greatness. But because He is infinite and almighty, we'll never discover the greatness in full. To fully know the entirety of His greatness is unsearchable. So I hope that this answers this good man's question, and I trust that he'll be able to think on these things, and he'll continue to study the Word of God to get to know our precious Lord and Savior. Well, I'm going to turn this back over to our announcer to read the entire letter. of this next one, and it's a long one, but I want you to listen to this. And this is one where the person was very antagonistic in the way they wrote in the writing style. Normally, I just delete those. I don't mind people disagreeing with the way I preach and saying something. As many of these that I've read to you disagree or have questions about what I say, and one can disagree with me. When they become antagonistic, then I, a lot of times, don't take the time to answer those. But, for some reason or other, I just felt led that I should answer this one. And so, that's what I'm going to do. So, Mr. Announcer, if you'll read this next question. Pastor, another Internet listener who is questioning believers' tithing and is wrestling with the Scriptures, writes this. I was just returning to my home when I opened the door. I heard on the Christian radio you as a preacher of the gospel taking liberty that God has given us to preach grace dispensation tithing. Galatians 5.13 For brethren, ye have been called unto liberty, only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh. All teaching on dispensational grace tithing is of the flesh. a lack of faith in God. You preach to supply all your needs, not once, according to his riches and glory. If you claim to be a man of God, called of God to teach the truth, how can you and most independent preachers take your liberty and teach what the Scriptures do not teach, which you, nor your dad, nor Baptists of any preacher can back up from the Bible rightly divided? Surely you have been in your Bible long enough to know this truth. Can you not look back in your Bible studies and remember the first time you were challenged from the truth of the Word of God, and see how you had to lie to yourself, and then go a step further by accepting ungodly counsel on the subject, which to a hard heart towards the truth of Scriptures rightly divided? Proverbs 29.25, The fear of man bringeth a snare. If you would like to drop me a returning email so that we may let God be true and every man a liar, please do. I will be out of town for a couple of weeks and upon returning if you respond to my contending for the faith, then I will give you my phone number so you can call me that God may manifest His truth to your heart. Just as one can go to a conventional physical doctor, and lie to you because they refuse to accept the natural pathic doctor because of what they've been taught. So it is that when men who want to put a doctor in front of their name who teach the Word of God. The only difference is they do not have the Holy Spirit to teach them and will not stand before the one you call Lord and give an account. I was born from above on November 4th, 1992 in an independent fundamental Baptist church when I heard the truth of the gospel. having had repentance toward God and placed my trust in the blood of Jesus Christ. I was taught the lie of tithing along with a few others. But when, by being honest with myself, when I studied it out dispensationally, with the Bible rightly divided, I chose by deliberate will to accept the truth and to teach a clear conscience what the Scriptures teach.
