Good afternoon everyone. It's a little after 2.30 in the afternoon. It's the 21st of July, Monday. We've been reading through the book of Hebrews. Today we're going to read through Hebrews, the 5th chapter. And we find in the 5th chapter, the 9th verse, in being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. starts out, for every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men and things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins. Who can have compassion on the ignorant, on them that are out of the way, for that he himself also is tempest with the firmament? And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself to offer for sins. No man taketh honour to himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron. So also Christ glorified not himself to made a high priest, but he said unto them, Thou art my son, today have I begotten thee, and as he saith unto another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek, who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications for strong crying and tears unto them, him that was able to save him with breath, and was heard in that, he appeared. Though he were a son, yet learned the obedience by the things which he suffered, and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation, and of all them that obey him, called of God a high priest, after the order of Melchizedek, of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing your dull appearing. For when for time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again, which be the first principles of the oracles of God, and ought to become such as have made milk, and not of strong meat. For everyone that uses milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness, for he is of age. But strong meat belongs to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. So Melchizedek was Christ, priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. I'm going to turn this over to Mark and have him read this. I hope you all have a blessed afternoon. chapter 5 of Hebrews. Well, I hope you all have a good afternoon, and we'll continue tomorrow on the sixth chapter of Hebrews. The good Lord being in the matter, of course, the Lord's in all matters. He works all things out for the counsel of his own will. All things, not some things.
