133. Page 133. My heavenly home is bright and fair. I feel like traveling on. can enter there. I feel like traveling home. Yes, I feel like traveling home. I feel like traveling home. My heavenly home is right here. It's glittering times, the sun out shine. I feel like traveling home. That heavenly mansion shall be mine. I feel like traveling home. Yes, I feel like traveling home. I feel like traveling on. My heavenly home is bright and fair. I feel like traveling on. Nonetheless, the Lord has been so good to me. I feel like traveling on. I feel that blessed home I see. I feel like traveling home. Yes, I feel like traveling home. I feel like traveling home. My heavenly home is bright and fair. I feel like traveling home. Anyway, I think I'll just keep on traveling on. I'll tell you what, I've been, good to see everybody here tonight. I've been listening to those couple of messages that Brother David Young preached at our Jubilee last year. And what's gonna happen with the rest, he preached on Thursday night, and he preached at our fire annual on Friday night. And man, it's just charged me up a little bit. So I just feel like, just keep serving the Lord. By the grace and help of God, I had that to it. But it's good to see everybody here tonight. I hope everybody's had a good week this week so far. And good to see you on this Wednesday night. And of course, come to worship the Lord tonight and hear what the Lord's got for us from the Word of God tonight. So pray for Brother Dustin. He's going to preach for us in just a little bit. And of course, keep him in prayer. And he's dealing with this heart the heart situation here and just pray the Lord will just touch him and be his will. And if not, then the Lord will give him grace either way, so. But good to see everybody here tonight. Of course, keep praying for the Loudoun Mountain Youth Camps. And from what I understand, the services have been good. From what I understand, there were two that were saved last night. And I understand there was one saved this morning in the morning service. And Preacher Melton preached this morning in the morning service. And as far as I know, this is the first time that he's probably, I guess, officially preached at the youth camp. I mean, I wish I'd have been up there for it, but maybe he'll get to preach at the second camp. He's preached many a time up there, but not officially, though. But they say there was one saved in the morning service. I thank the Lord for that. And of course, usually by this about midweek, we're, you know, we're looking for a breakthrough and praying for a breakthrough. And a lot of times I've seen it happen a lot of times up there on Wednesday night, Wednesday night, Thursday night, the Lord do something, something big. So that's what we're going to believe God for tonight. Just pray for that. Pray for Brother Ledbetter tonight. He'll be preaching tonight and tomorrow night. And just pray the Lord will touch him. And keep praying for preachers. He's laboring in prayer down there in the prayer house. And I know that it's a battle, so keep him in your prayers. And we're going to, by way of announcements tonight, don't have a whole lot this week. We've got birthday dinner this Sunday. So make you a couple dishes up and bring them in, and we'll celebrate some birthday. We had a lot of birthdays in June. And so we're going to celebrate some birthdays and have a good time of fellowship. So let's do that Sunday morning. Brother Chris, keep Brother Chris in your prayers. He's been in the Drowning Creek Baptist Church here in Hickory. Remind me never to go near that creek. But anyway, wherever that creek's at. And I sure don't want to be baptized in it either. He's been, they've been having VBS this week, and Brother Miller asked him if he'd come this week, and he's preaching every night, and during the VBS, and I texted him earlier, and he said that it's been going good, and he said that they seem like they've been receptive to, he's been preaching on a different Bible character every night, and been mixing some salvation in there with it, and he said they seem like they've been receptive, so let's pray for him as he's up there preaching. to use him up there. And of course, we've got some other things coming up. Just a little while, I got back to Bethel coming up. It won't be long. Just a few weeks time, and we'll be going over to the campground. And be much in prayer for that. I know, I think they got Tim Fallure preaching on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, the first week. And he's a good preacher. I've heard him a few times on the I heard him over on the internet and stuff, and he'll help you. And Brother Mark Stroud's gonna preach on Thursday and Friday that week, I think. And I love Brother Mark. And then the second, James Jones is gonna preach on the weekend, and I think Brother Barry Rackley's gonna preach the second week, Monday through Friday. So let's pray for these men. And Brother Moss will be moderating this year. And I think Brother Tucker's gonna be his assistant, so let's pray for them. and pray for the meeting. And then Jubilee. Jubilee's gonna be here before we know it too. So September the 25th, 26th, and 27th. And there'll be much in prayer for that. And I do know that Brother Shiflett is gonna be coming to preach. He's gonna be preaching the night services on Thursday and Friday night. And I know, I think the preacher mentioned Brother Terry Simpson's gonna preach one day. I can't remember. He mentioned a few. Chad Bailey's gonna be preaching, and I know he's gonna call some preachers from the floor, but so let's be much in prayer for the Jubilee, and of course, we prayin' about, of course, we still got the Jubilee fund and everything, so we're gonna need some money for the Jubilee, and the Lord's gonna meet the needs, and he has met the needs, and we had, last year, I think we had more, we had a little more hotel rooms than we had the first year, But the Lord met the needs and of course a lot of the preachers that come they live pretty close by but they'll drive But we're gonna need some hotel rooms. I know for sure this year, but so let's pray for the Jubilee and I Think that's about it as far as I got for any kind of announcements And we'll take a few prayer requests here tonight. Anybody's got any requests you want to make known? We'll Write it down and we'll try to pray for these need Yes. Andy Simpson. Perfect. Well, Andy Simpson. Yes. Let's be praying for Jonah and Jackson, all these little ones. I just don't want them to get saved. I'm believing the Lord to save them. And I just don't want them to be in church. I want them to serve God. I mean, the Lord so worked that in their heart. They just want to serve God. Not just be in church, but I want them to grow up, all of them to be saved. I want them to be pillars in the church. And I think Brother Barry Rackley preached a message. It's been quite a few years ago up at the camp on one of the morning services. And he preached about that, about the pillar, being pillars of the church. Man, it was great. I think about that a lot. But that's what my desire is for them, to see them get saved and be pillars in a local church. Anybody else tonight? Yes. Mhm. Mhm. Yeah, let's pray for that youth meeting. John Westerfield heard him up at brother Frazier's jubilee. And he's a good preacher. He's got a message he preaches about the trapper. It's a trapper message. And they say it's real good. I've not heard it myself, but I think preachers specifically asking people to come to preach this youth meeting and to preach that message. So let's pray for that youth meeting. I think it's going to be on Friday night. It's Friday night. All right, anybody else? OK. All right, anybody? Yes sir. They don't know it yet. I understand. I need to go to the dentist myself and I hate it. I hate going to the dentist. I just, I don't know why when I was younger I had braces and stuff and I, I mean I went regular and said orthodontist and, but I still, I don't know, I don't, I despise a dentist, but. I'd almost rather, I'd almost rather have to deal with kidney stones, I think, than to go to the dentist. I think so. Britney knows a little bit about. Oh, my word, they were all still. No, no, I had a date. They've wrenched mine down every month. I know all about it. I used to have to put them rubber bands on there too and all that stuff. Zane, we're praying for you, son. All right, any other prayer requests? Yes. Went on a little cruise. We got these weddings coming up. What, a couple weeks? You got about, what, about five weeks over here, maybe? Something like that? I don't, I lost, that's about as far as my math's going on. I also said you're gonna see how these first two go. Brooke, Todd? Amen. Now y'all just follow the Lord. All right, any more? All right, I'm glad the Lord said, call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not. So whatsoever shall ask in prayer, believe and you shall receive. And all we do is we just go to them and we're leaving. They say we're receiving, we're receiving. So let's, anybody who wants to, wants to, and physically able, let's get around the altar and let's have a word of prayer. You would show up and show out. Oh, God, thank you for another day of water. Oh, thank you for our salvation. Thank you for the call to the Lord. Oh, Lord, thank you for everything you've done for us, Lord. You've been so good to us, Lord. You've been so good to our church, Lord. I pray, Lord, you come to this school and have a good time. Oh, Lord, may we calm ourselves down, Lord, so we don't have to worry about problems. All right, we'll take it. We'll take it with your change there tonight, Jax. Get in there, son. I just want to thank you, Lord, for every time you've heard me pray. I just want to thank you, Lord, for always being there. When I was turned down and out, you came along and made me want to shout. I just want to thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. If I had a million lives to live, I'd live them all for my Lord. He's been so good to me. It's the least I could afford. He's made the bad times nothing but glad. He's the best friend I've ever had. I just want to thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. When I was so deep in sin, having no hope, no peace within, I just called on your name. You took all my sin and my shame. Now I am free from doubt. You came along and made me want to shout. I just want to thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. I just want to thank you, Lord, for every time you've heard me pray. I just want to thank you, Lord, for always being there. When I was so down and out, you came along and made me want to shout. I just want to thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. I just want to thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, sir. I was lost but now I'm found. I was blind but now I see. My heart is filled with joy that the Lord gave me. I've been changed from the old My life was changed forever when the Lord found me. He didn't leave me the way that He found me. He didn't leave me to die in my sin. But He left me His sweet Holy Spirit to live within, and He gave me a new life. From my sin, He gave me freedom. From my chains, He set me free. He took out the old things that I didn't need. I've a new heart and a new mind and a new song to sing. All because He didn't leave me the way He didn't leave me the way that he found me. He didn't leave me to die in my sin. But He left me His sweet Holy Spirit to live within, and He gave me a new life in Him. Yes it is. Amen. Amen. Good to be in the Lord's house. Amen. That was a little weak, but we'll roll with it. We'll roll with it. Amen. Good to be in the Lord's house. Hey, look at y'all. Amen. Y'all right. You all right. All right. Mark chapter number five. Mark chapter number five. Good. Good to see y'all tonight. And I hope this will be a blessing to you. Let's all stand for the reading of God's word. We're going to go down to verse number 21. Of course, these verses have been preached through and parceled and they've pulled everything out that you could possibly think of. But just to be reminded of what God can do in our lives, let's look at verse number 21. And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him and was nigh unto the sea. And behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name. And when he saw him, he fell at his feet and besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death. I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed, and she shall live. And Jesus went with him, and much people followed him and thronged him. If you go on down, I believe it is to verse number 35, and while he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead. Why troublest thou the master any further? As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he said unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid. only believe. And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John, the brother of James. And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth a toll-mall, and them that wept and wailed greatly. And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? The damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. And they left him to scorn. But when they had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha, come, which is being interpreted, damsel, I say unto thee, arise. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked. For she was of the age of twelve years, and they were astonished with a great astonishment. And he charged them straightly that no man should know it, and commanded that something should be given her to eat." Lord, thank you so much for this day and this opportunity. Help us to glean some spiritual truths from your word, and I pray that you give us liberty as only you can. We ask these things in Christ's name and all God's people said. Amen, you may be seated. I'm focusing in on the phrase, or at least we'll bring our title from the phrase, where Jairus came to Christ and he fell at his feet, and in verse 23, and saw him greatly saying, my little daughter lieth at the point of death. And I'm thinking on that little thought tonight, at the point of death. And you'll find that phrase one other time in John chapter number four, concerning the nobleman and his little son. I was looking at these verses and I was thinking about that phrase, point of death. What is the point of death? When you think about the point of death, you think about the moment where there's little hope. You ever heard the doctor say of your loved one, Nothing else we can do. I think it was testified tonight of an individual where the doctors came in and said, I'm sorry, no human factor, no medicine, no surgery can heal this individual. They just simply come to the point of death. And apparently this gentleman here had been sitting beside his daughter. She's come down with an illness and the doctors have done everything that they possibly could do. And the dad got worried, but apparently he heard of the Lord Jesus Christ. And when he heard of the Lord Jesus Christ, how many of you has heard of anybody that has had a terminal illness and the doctor said, well, we've got this one thing that we do. It's experimental. It's experimental, but you don't have any other opportunity anyhow. Would you like to try it? I mean, what's the worst that can happen? And so I think this gentleman might be in the same position here to where the doctors washed their hands Walked out the door and said we're going to make her rest as easy as she possibly can But there's no hope and the dad was just worrying himself sick to death and he heard that Jesus was on his way and he said, you know, I have nothing left and There's nothing else I can do. I'm gonna give Jesus a try and I feel like so often in our lives when we think about prayer and we think about things we're wanting and things that we desire and prayer requests that are made That it seems as if some of these Have a slimmer of hope Just a very slimmer of hope. Not much to go off of. I mean, to the naked eye and to all human faculties, it seems impossible. You ever felt that way? People that you love, people that you care of, and you're thinking, how can the Lord work this out? Maybe situations in your finances or situations with your health and you're thinking Lord I don't see no physical way that this could possibly be I've said everything I could say I've done everything I could do I've brought them to church they sat under preaching I've invited so-and-so to come talk to him and they've listened to tapes and CDs and I've done everything that I can do and And we think, man, this prayer right here is at the point of death. And you know what? Even hope dies in our heart towards that particular thing. You know, Jairus, he had a problem here. His problem was that his daughter was dying. And many of you can raise your hand tonight, maybe all of us, and say, I have a problem. I have something that agitates my heart and my soul. I've brought it before the Lord many, many, many times. I've begged of Him. I've pleaded with Him. But yet, it's still a problem. Just like Paul, he had a thorn in the flesh. How many of you got a thorn in your flesh? Now, don't look at your wife or husband. Amen. Come on. Brittany, stop staring. Stop staring. Amen. Stop staring up here. I'm not even looking. I know she's looking. Jairus had a problem, and it wasn't his wife, amen. Well, she wasn't mentioned, so maybe she could have been. Amen. But his daughter was ill unto death, and she was going to die. And so many of you can relate with this, that you have a problem in your life. Maybe even something where you can say, Lord, I don't know what else to do. but to bring this to you. Now, as Jairus had this issue and this problem, he said, you know what? I'm gonna bring it to Jesus. He came to where he knew Jesus was coming. The boat was coming in. It's like being at the airport and you see the times. The plane's gonna land at such and such time. And I can imagine Jairus getting there. Hey, when's the ship carrying Jesus supposed to arrive? When's the ship that's carrying the disciples, when are they going to arrive? And he's sitting there and he's watching his son die. his Rolex sundial, and maybe his G-shot. And he's just looking at this thing, and he's like, man, it's half past 12, where's Jesus at? And of course, he's caught up in traffic out on the sea, and he is just tore up out of his frame, and he's needing to do business with the Lord. And you know what that taught Jairus? He had to have a little patience. And you know what we need? We need patience with the Lord. We want to rush the Lord. We want to hurry the Lord. When we're thinking about our dying daughter, it's like this is at the point of death. She's about to take her last breath. I don't have time to be patient. But the Lord has His ways, and He has His elements that He brings into factor that oftentimes goes against our human concept of what it should be. So Jairus had to have patience. And then we see Jairus' position. He says here in verse number 23, I'm sorry, verse number 22, And behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, which means the enlightened one. And when he saw him, he fell at his feet. Jairus had the right idea. He didn't go for his wallet. He didn't go for his skills. He didn't go for his, the way his pomp and his pride from his position. But Jairus said, I have nothing else to give. I'm just going to fall down at his feet. And you know, that's a good place to be is at Jesus's feet. That's the best place to be. And you know how we are as humans sometimes? It takes God a long time to get us there. Now, we might physically bow. We know the posture. We know the program. But when our heart begins to bow to the Lord and submit to His will and His power and His position, when that happens, business begins to pick up. These people were thronging the Lord. But there was one man that said, I'm going to fall down before him. This was a position of humility. We need that. Our old flesh needs to be humble. We need to come with a sober heart before the Lord when considering these prayer requests. Instead of, Lord, why? Lord, how? Lord, who? How? How is this going to work? But I trust you. Amen? So, Jairus fell down before his face. Then we see Jairus' prayer. Now, I want you to get a hold of this. Look at verse 23. The Bible says, and he besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death. I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed, and she shall live. I was in a church service one time. Some of y'all were there. I get tired of getting rigged about this, okay? I can't help the man called me to preach, okay? But this church was a mess. And it's the craziest circus I've ever stepped foot in. And it's humorous. And I remember outside of the guy meeting me at my car, rebuking me for preaching eternal security, Elvis as the pastor, the drum set going off during the altar call. I mean, just insanity. people playing on their cell phones the whole service, and it just got bizarre, you know what I mean? And I remember standing at the back of the church after the service one night, and this heavyset gentleman came walking up to me, of course in his matching jogging breeches and jogging sweatshirt outfit, right? And I was like, oh, Walmart material. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that. But the man was wearing jogging breeches, come on. Okay, maybe that's all he had. We'll go with that. And he said, sir, and he held my hands like this, can I ask you a question? I said, shoot. He said, will you lay hands on my daughter? I said, well, probably not a good idea. And I said, have you talked to your pastor? And he grabbed my hands again and he said, no. the powers in your hands." I said, praise God. Nobody ever told me that. I felt like Iron Man, you know. And he's like, you just got to lay hands on her and she'll be healed. I said, you need to talk to your pastor. And then I just kind of. moseyed along. But yeah, this gentleman was a trip. But here he said, but Lord, if you'll just lay hands on her, she'll be healed. His prayer was fourfold. It was one of invoking and entreating. He says, and be sought, which means to entreat. So he entreated the Lord, but not only did he entreat him, but he entreated him greatly, broadly, bigly. He said, it was a spectacle. He said, Lord, He cried out real loud. Everybody could have heard it. It was a great prayer. Invoking, intriguing. It caught Jesus' attention. I wonder if our prayers are catching Jesus' attention. Because he was desperate. His daughter's at the point of death. He said, Lord. He besought him greatly. My little daughter lieth. One of increased intensity. He increased it. He besought him greatly. One of emotion and emergency. I like what he says here. He says, my little daughter, life at the point of death. He was pulling out all the tricks. He didn't say just his daughter, but his little daughter. Man, that changes things. If it was an 80 year old man talking about his 60 year old daughter, I mean, yeah, she needs help too. But when you're talking about a five-year-old, what dad, what man would be so cold and indifferent as to not just snap in line and say, let's get this done? He did that on purpose. He said, Lord, this is my little daughter, helpless little daughter. And she's at the point of death. You know, in sales, we call them power words. If you use power words, it invokes a certain emotion. If you don't fix this belt on your car during these 100 degree days on your way to the ball game, it might break and you don't want to be sitting out in the heat with your little daughter. But for $59.99, of course that was back in 2000, for $159.99, we'll replace this belt for you. But that's up to you. I'll leave it in. And she's sitting there going, mm. And then I'm doing the quiet wait. Just don't say nothing. Let her stew on it for just a little bit. Let her stew. And then she's going to buy into the logic. You know he's right. I don't want to be sitting in 100 degree weather on my way to the soccer game. And then inevitably, every single time, but you gotta use the power words. But here, this gentleman used a similar pattern of words. My little daughter is at the point of death. Jesus ain't buying any of that anyhow. He already knows what's going on. But this was a prayer nonetheless, one of confidence and certainty. He said, Lord, you know That if you lay hands on her, she will be healed. She may be healed and she shall live. And so he had confidence and certainty. You know what our prayers need? They need invoking and entreaty. They need increased intensity. They need emotion and emergency. They need confidence and certainty. We need to put these things into practice when we come before the Lord. Would you agree? Amen. That'll help our prayer life. And Jairus had a procurement. Look at verse number 24. And Jesus went with him. He won. Jairus won right there. Jairus had a prayer. He had an entreaty and Jesus said, didn't even say nothing. He just said, the Bible says he went with him. Jairus turned around, went walking. Jesus said, I'm gonna go with you. Jesus, right to his house. Amen. You know, I love when we pray and God procures our answered prayer and he goes with us along the way. There's nothing like it. There's nothing like it knowing that God hears and he answers our prayer. He hears the prayers of desperate people. He hears the prayer of hurting people. He hears the prayer of his children, the cries of his children. I heard the other day someone said, you know, I feel bad that I fall asleep at night while I'm praying. And the other person said, well, is it so bad that when your child falls asleep in your lap? Amen. And that gives us some comfort. God hears the prayers of his children while they're lying in his lap. Jairus procured the ear of Christ. But then we see verses 25 through 34, Jesus paused for a moment. Jairus said, my little daughter, she lied at that death. Jesus starts walking, and then a lady falls down and touches the hem of his garment, and Jesus stops. And Jairus is like, hey, what? Wait a minute, let's rewind this. Did I save my little daughter and point of death? What part of that didn't he get? I mean, this is desperate. And Jairus is over there looking at a sundial, His Rolex sundial, Todd, he was rich. And he's looking at this $5,000 sundial. And he's like, Lord, we gotta get going here. My daughter's dying. And the Lord's like, hang on, somebody touch me. Immediately Jesus knew that the virtue had left him and the woman's issue of blood was healed But it seems like that the whole procession just came to a halt you ever been praying over something and God said You're going to wait You're just going to have to hold out just a minute. It feels like that anyhow. It feels like he just put a pause on that prayer quest. And I'm going to tell you, that is one of the most difficult positions in prayer that you could possibly be in. In the modern day of impatience, and I need it now. You've seen where McDonald's is coming out with the $5 menu again, right? Thank God. I ain't eating that horse meat. Amen, they ain't feeding me that. For $5, you can get a whole meal. Man, what's wrong with that food? That's what I wanna know. Inject and poison that mess. Anyhow. Y'all know I'm telling it. My kids like it, amen. But Jesus paused. And Jesus was doing this on purpose, amen. You know Jesus can do two things at one time? Does anybody know that? Seven billion people on planet earth, he can do seven billion things at one time. And not even blink an eye. He's working in everybody's lives, amen. What a mighty, powerful God that we serve. As a matter of fact, right before Jairus' eyes, he performs a miracle. He demonstrates his power in front of this multitude, right then and right there. And I'm sure Jairus is just chomping at the bits to get Jesus to his house. And in the middle of it, or towards the tail end of this, a messenger comes running up. In verse 35, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house, certain which said, Jairus, thy daughter is dead. Why troublest thou the master any further? Can you imagine in that moment what went through Jairus' head? Had the Lord not stopped in this procession, my daughter would not have died. Now, the Bible doesn't teach us this. I'm just thinking as a dad and as a father and someone, I would be thinking, had the Lord not stopped The ambulance, right? Had he not stopped the ambulance, my daughter would be alive and well right now. And I no doubt Jairus as a earthly father was probably having doubts with God. We don't know. The Bible doesn't tell us. I know I would. But through this experience, This is an important spiritual lesson that we must all understand, that through it all, Jesus has a purpose. In verse 35 and 36, in verse 36, and as soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, be not afraid, only believe. And he suffered no man to follow him save Peter and James and John, the brother of James. Jesus said, be not afraid, only believe. That's not real comforting to a human mindset. Jesus is like, listen, I got this. I mean, those of us that's been saved for any length of time, we're like, oh yeah, we down. We got you. We understand what you're saying right there. But we're talking about Jairus here, a ruler of a synagogue. Someone that may even be questioning who Jesus really is. And Jesus said, be not afraid. Jairus, only believe. And I can imagine Jairus just, what else can I do? Well, it doesn't say that Jairus necessarily believed. But Jesus told him, be not afraid. only believed, and he suffered no man. And the Bible says in verse 38, And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tomb, and them that wept and wailed greatly. Of course, these were actors, right? Hypocrites that were doing that. And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? The damned was not dead, but sleepeth. Just like a modern-day crowd would do, they laughed him to scorn. You know that's what they're doing today. They're laughing Jesus to scorn. They're mocking and they're poking and they're like, why do you pray? Why do you go to church? Why do you worship? Why do you serve this Jesus? And they're laughing the Lord to scorn. But can I encourage you that through that, just stay with the Lord. Just stay by his side that Jesus has a plan through it all. I know it doesn't seem like it sometimes, and sometimes it seems hard and dark, and it seems like time is just dragging by. But through it all, Jesus is working. I was talking with a gentleman today that even in the shadows, we'll find Jesus. Amen. But when he had put them all out, and they deserved to be put out, didn't they? Get out of here, you don't get to see this. I wonder what was going through that dad's head right there. And straightway the damsel rose and walked. For she was the age of 12 years, and they were astonished with a great astonishment. And he charged them straightly that no man should know it, and commanded that something should be given her to eat. Jesus' power was on full display. Full display right here. You know what's better than healing a sick girl? Raising a dead girl. There's a lot you can say about doing something for the sick. But buddy, when the heartbeat's gone, and the last breath left the body, and the lungs aren't inflating anymore, brother, I'm here to tell you, a man walks up and says, arise, and she pops up. WHAT A MIGHTY MIRACLE THAT WAS. JESUS KNEW EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS DOING. HIS PAUSE WAS TO DEMONSTRATE FURTHER HIS GREAT AND MIGHTY POWER. SO WHEN WE CONSIDER HIM PAUSING IN OUR LIVES, LET US REMEMBER THESE VERSES THAT JESUS KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT HE'S DOING AND THAT HE'S GOING TO WORK IN YOUR LIFE FOR HIS GLORY AND FOR YOUR GOOD. Ain't that a blessing? Jesus performs in our life, but we need to make sure that he gets maximum glory for it. So consider that next time when you get down to pray. Just like with Lazarus, I like that song. I heard it today from Karen Peck in New River, that Jesus was four days late, but he was still on time. Amen. Ain't that good? Four days late. He wasn't late. Jesus said, according to my sundial, Jesus didn't have a Rolex, citizen, but he was on time, amen. All right, every head bowed and every eye closed. Maybe there's something you're praying about this morning, this evening.
