And he also has read through The Lies of Free Will. So, by the way, if you would like any of those books, I'd be happy to send them to you. Send them to your PDF format. I'll turn this over to Mark and he will conclude with reading chapter 23 of the book. Final chapter 23, Phil's versus State of Missouri. Chapter 23, Christ's Manifestation, Resurrection, and Elections, Justification. This is probably one of the most significant chapters in this book. previous chapter preceded this chapter for obvious reasons. Christ chose us and him before the foundation of the world and it is grounded in election, predestination, and effectual calling. Christ was manifested in the flesh in time. Jesus Christ walked on this earth for 33 years and he was crucified. His death, his burial, and his resurrection is the single most important event in the history of man. Through His death we were justified by His blood, and as a result of this justification we received the impurity rights of Jesus Christ. The fact that Christ was manifested in time is a very important truth. Many people have no problem with saying that Christ was a good man and that He was a good moral teacher. Christ made certain assertions about Himself. One of those assertions was, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man cometh unto the Father but by Me. Remember when Christ was at his trial to ask him if he was the Son of God, Christ manifested in the flesh was the very Son of God. There are no questions as to the authenticity of that believer or faith that part of the believer holds to. Claims Jesus Christ the Son of God manifested beings to make known or to reveal in John 2.11. We see that Christ reveals Himself and states, This beginning of miracles to Jesus came of Galilee and manifested forth His glory. His disciples believed on Him. So Christ was not only manifest Himself, Himself in man's flesh, but He also manifested Himself as the new. He was by the miracles that He did. Christ prayed to his father in John 17, 6, pray and I have manifested thy name unto the men. Thou gavest me out of the world, thine they were, and thou gavest them me. They have kept thy word. The Bible tells us that the word became flesh and dwelt among us. Another important passage is 1 Timothy 3, 16 which is absolute truth that Jesus Christ has manifested the flesh. It reads, And without controversy, praise, or mystery, or gallivance, God was manifest in the flesh, yet divided in spirit. A scene of angels preached unto the Gentiles, believed on the world, and received unto the glory. Here in one verse, what we see is a complete summation of the Gospel, i.e. Christ manifesting Himself in the flesh on the account of His death and resurrection. With ascension back to heaven, the death of Jesus Christ is so important that it can never be overstated. If Christ did not die, we would yet be in our sins. If Christ did not risen from the dead, we would yet be in our sins. So the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is what secured our eternal life. His precious blood is what paid the ransom for our sins, just like any old testament for animal sacrifices. remain looking forward to the coming of the one perfect sacrifice, the substitutionary atonement of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ became our sin bearer for God's people whom Christ died for. Because of that, their sins are no longer imputed to them, but they have the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ. So we have discussed the fact that Christ is manifest in the flesh. We as believers know that his death on the cross secure the victory for us. Christ said while hanging on the cross was finished. The veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom. So now we as believers of Christ have access to the Holy of Holies. We can go directly to our high priest. We do not have to go to a Roman Catholic priest, a Pope or Bishop or a pastor to confess our sins. We can go directly to our Lord and say Jesus Christ. We are not going to talk about the resurrection. We think about the resurrection and it gives us great hope for our imminent eternal fellowship and communion with Jesus Christ in heaven. It's hard for us to conceive how that the soul when we die leaves the body and goes back to God. How that we receive the glorified body we cannot even fathom or comprehend. This absolute miracle we know is true. How do we know this is true? Because Christ himself was raised from the dead, because Christ was raised from the dead. We know that we likewise will be raised to be corrupt and we will be given a new glorified body. We know the story of the disciples going to the tomb, finding the stone rolled away and seeing the grave closed lying there. We also know the accounts of multiple times that Christ appeared to the disciples as well as to 500 people after his resurrection. There was an ongoing controversy between the religious leaders of the day, which were the Pharisees and the Sadducees. The Pharisees believed in the resurrection, and the Sadducees said that there was no resurrection. All the way through the book of Acts, Paul and Peter preached the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and Peter had witnesses of the resurrection firsthand. In Acts 1-22, we read the beginning of the baptism of John after that same day. that he was taken up from us must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. Jesus Christ told the disciples beforehand that the third day he would rise again. So he had foretold then what was going to happen. The resurrection is the proof of the absolute power over death. Jesus Christ, go to Philippians 3.10. You find Paul affirming that I may know him and the power of his resurrection. fellowship with suffering to be made conformal unto his death. Lets go back over to 1 Corinthians 15.13 and see that Paul says, But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen? It is very important to understand in the Bible this affirmation of the resurrection of Jesus Christ for many of the New Age religions of today are going to be reincarnation. We, as believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, affirm with all that is within us the power of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1.3 Peter says, Blessed be the God and the Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, who is in glory, for the praise and the glory and the mercy of the Lord. We have begotten us again into the life and the hope by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Acts 23.6-5, we follow him. But when Paul perceived guilt for one part of the sanctity of the Pharisees, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee, in the hope and resurrection of the dead, I am called in question. To summarize, this chapter has dealt with Christ to be manifest in the flesh. In fact, if Christ is the Son of God, He died and paid the sin debt for all those who were who were chosen before the foundation of the world, who we came to die for, how he was raised from the dead the third day, how he was sent back to heaven, the believer also realizes the importance of the freedom of Jesus Christ, that Calvary, his precious blood that was shed for us, that we were chosen in before the foundation of the world, who would be eternally lost, we have been predestinated, adopted, affectionately called, elected, justified and glorified that we have the pewter righteousness given to us by God, and through His Son Jesus Christ, apart from these facts, we would have no hope. Apart from the fact that Christ was resurrected from the dead, and is seated at the right hand of God, we would yet be in our sense out of communion and out of fellowship with our Creator. Paul of Colossians says, for by Him were all things created. that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions, principalities, or powers, all things are created by him before him. He is before all things, and by him all things consist. And for God's elect we know that he is the head of the body, the church, the firstborn, and the dead, and all things by him are pre-eminent. He has reconciled us of himself who now have been given the mystery of reconciliation. To wit, that Jesus Christ paid the price for his people's sins on the cruel and wretched cross of Calvary. Two of my favorite verses of the entire Bible are found in 24th and 25th verses of the Eucharist, which state, Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you false before the presence of his glory to exceed the joys of the only wise God our Savior. Be glory and majesty and dominion and power both now and ever. Amen. God bless. Thank you. Well, thank you Mark for doing that. Go to our email and I'll be happy to send you a copy. God bless.
