Good afternoon everyone. Today is the 16th of May. We're going to be working through the fourth chapter of Galatians today. And Paul is setting forth the contrast between Isaac and Ishmael. He starts out by saying that the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from the servant, though he be lord of all. But he is under tutors and governors, and at this time appointed a father. Even so, when we were children, we were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law. to redeem them that were under the law that we might receive the adoption of sons. We also see this in Ephesians chapter 1 where it says we were predestinated unto adoption. And because ye are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son in your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Which it had been revealed to me that was one of his favorite verses in the Bible, where it cried out, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant but a son, and a descendant and heir of God through Christ. Albeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now after they have known God, or rather are known of God, I like the way he said that, or rather are known of God, I'll turn you again to the weak and beggarly elements, for whom you desire again to be in bondage. You observe days and months and times and years. I've often said that if I were to write another book, I would entitle it, Monkey See, Monkey Do. We're shown what we're supposed to do in grade school. You know, we're supposed to embrace the globe. We're supposed to embrace a lot of lives. We just go along with it, monkey see, monkey do. And then we get in junior high and we're supposed to endorse sports and all these million-dollar sports figures, monkey see, monkey do. And then we get in high school and we want to follow along with the crowd and we go along with microbiology and heliocentric cosmology and Darwinian evolutionary theory. Observe days, months, times, and years. I am afraid of you lest I have bestowed upon you labor and vain. Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am, for I am as you are. You have not injured me at all. You know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first. and my temptation which was in my flesh was devised not, nor rejected, but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus were. It is then the blessedness she spake of I bear you record, that if it had been possible you would have plucked out your own eyes and have given them to me. I believe that was his thorn in the flesh, because he refers to his eyes there. I think he had problems with his eyes. Am I therefore become your enemy? Because I tell you the truth, they jealously affect you, but well not lest they would exclude you that you might affect them. It is good to jealously affect always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you, my little chimer, when I prevail in birth again and Christ be formed in you. I desire to be present with you now and change my voice for I stand in doubt. You tell me that you desire to be under the law. Do you hear the law? Monkey see, monkey do. When you're in Rome, do as the Romans do. When you're in the Armenian churches, do as the Armenians do. When you're in university, do as the university does. Find all their philosophy and humanistic psychology and sociology and cultural anthropology and abnormal psychology and psychiatric garblegook. It is written that Abraham had two sons, one by a bondwoman and the other by a free woman. But he of the bondwoman was born after the flesh, but he of the free woman was by the promise. Which things are in allegory? These are the two covenants. The one from Mount Sinai, which generates the bondage, which is Agar. For this Agar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, in answer to Jerusalem, and now is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free. Notice he's talking about the spiritual Jerusalem, not the physical Jerusalem. Because he says that Jerusalem which is above is the mother of us all. The mother of all God's elect is the Jerusalem from above. For as written, Rejoice thou barren, that barrest not, break forth, and cry thou that trade with us not, for the desolate hath many more children. than she which hath a husband. Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise, but as then as I was born after flesh, he that was born after flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. And we see that, don't we? Those who are trying to put everybody under the law of service are persecuting those who are walking in the faith of Christ. Nevertheless, what saith the Scriptures cast out the bond woman and her son. with the son of the bond woman shall not be heir with the son of the free woman. Those who are walking in Arminianism and in the law service, Judaism, Roman Catholicism are children of the bond woman. So brethren we are not children of the bond woman but of the free. If I wrote a book that would be monkey see, monkey do. I may write a book called that. I'll turn this over to Mark. Galatians chapter 4. Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child and nothing but a servant, so he be Lord of all. He was under tutors and governors until the time of the appointing of the Father. Even so, we, when we were children, were embodied in the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son. man and woman made under the law to redeem them that were way under the law. You might receive the adoption of so many sons. Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, I am His Father, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. How seeth thou when we knew that we did service unto them which by nature are now no gods, but now after that he have known God, or rather have known of him. Now, turning against the weak and barely elements, weren't you, Desire, going to be in bondage? You deserve days and months and times and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labor and vain. Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am, for I am as you are. You have not entered me at all. You know how, through infirmity of the flesh, I preached the gospel unto you at first, and my temptation was in my flesh. You despised not, and rejected but received me as an angel of God, even as Jesus Christ. Where is then the blessedness you spake of, for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, you would have plucked out your own eyes and have given them to me? Am I therefore becoming your enemy because I tell you the truth? They zealously affect you, but not well. Yea, they would exclude you that you might affect them. It is good to be jealously affected. Always a good thing, and a good thing not only when I am present with you, my little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be reformed in you. I desire to be present with you now and to change my voice for I stand in doubt of you. Tell me if it is there to be under the law, or do not be under the law. For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by a bondman, the other by a free woman. But he who was the bondman was born after the flesh, but he the free woman was born by promise. These things are an allegory for these two covenants. The one for the mount Sinai was Shinarat Abadiz, which is Hagar. This is Aegoras from Mount Sinai, an Arabian answer to her children Jerusalem, which now is in the bondage with her Jerusalem. But Jerusalem, which is above, is free, which is the mother of us all. It was written, Rejoice, thou barren, that bearest not. Break forth and cry, Thou that travailest not. The desolation hath many more children than she which men have stored. Now we brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. But it is then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him, that was born after the spirit, even so it is now. Nevertheless, sayeth the scripture, cast out the bottom one and her son. The son of the bottom one shall not be an heir of the son of the free woman. So then, brethren, we are not children of the bottom one, but of the free. Thank you, Mark. Yep. A lot of people just go along, get along, whatever any, well that guy knows better than me, he's a theologian. If he's preaching law service, he's a child of the bond woman. Monkey see, monkey do. May you have a good day. God bless.
