when your back's against the wall and your mountain seems so tall and you realize life's not always here you can run away and hide let the old man decide or you can change your circumstances with a prayer when everything falls apart. Grace is made when you have a broken heart. Just raise your hands and say, Lord, you're all I need. You're everything to me. And you'll take the pain away. when it seems you're all alone. Raise this name when you feel you can't go on. Just raise your hands and say, Great Jehovah's King. You'll just praise His name. Oh, you can overcome by the blood of the Lamb, by the word of your testimony. You see the darkness fall As your faith begins to grow You're not alone So how can you be lovely? I trust that song has prepared your heart for the Word. And so today, if we'd like to take our Bibles and turn to Jeremiah chapter 8. verse 18 unto verse 22. That is Jeremiah chapter 8 verse 18 unto 22. Shall we all stand as we honor God by the reading of his word. And verse 18 it reads When I would comfort myself against sorrow, my heart is faint in me. Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people, because of them that dwell in a far country. Is not the Lord in Zion? Is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images and with strange vanities. The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved. For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt. I am Black. Astonishment hath taken hold on me. Is there an Obama in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered? May the Lord bless the reading of his word to our hearts as we send our thoughts on a phrase, the balm of Gilead. Is there no balm in Gilead? Father, oh God, we give you thanks for your healing power. your divine healing touch upon our lives and for keeping us in good health and strength and for touching us and healing us when we are sick. Lord, we pray for those who are sick, we pray that for their speedy recovery. God, we pray for those who are sin sick and need to be saved, that they might be saved. And if there were one here tonight without Jesus Christ, that this one would be healed of his sin sickness. Oh Father and God, we ask that your word would take hold of each heart and especially those who are still outside of the family of God. They see the need for being ready. And oh God, that they realize that the balm is still available. And the physician, Jesus Christ, is here and ready to heal. to this message that which is necessary to make it complete to take over my thoughts those things are not necessary for this occasion this message reacts arise oh lord amen you may be seated the bomb of gilead i first of all wish to thank pastor wayne for giving me this opportunity to address you this final Sunday or Sunday night of 2020. This has been a very strange difficulty for all. It has left many emotional, social, moral, and spiritual wounds We could go on and we could talk about the psychological, mental, political, and financial wounds that need to be addressed in the days, and weeks, and months, and years to come. As we look around the world, We see continued suffering, pain, and hurts in the lives of so many people. People who need a miracle for the healing that can only come from God himself. Healing for rejection, abuse, pain, torment, I therefore recommend the Balm of Gilead for their healing. The Balm of Gilead is a metaphor or a figure of speech with tremendous spiritual values. The Balm of Gilead was an ointment which came from a particular tree which was common to that part of the world in the time of, on the days of Jeremiah. It was like a cure-all. It was good for everything. It is likened to the word of God. And the physician mentioned here, Jesus Christ. There is a song that we used to sing And some of you probably have never heard it, and you're not even aware of it. But it says, there is a balm in Gilead to make the wounded whole. There is a balm in Gilead to heal the sin sick soul. Perhaps some of the young people, children, have never heard that. We need to revive them. There is another one which says, the great physician now is near. The sympathizing Jesus. He speaks the drooping heart to cheer or hear the voice of Jesus and it goes on. Jeremiah was weeping over the spiritual condition of Israel and the godless state of affairs in Judah at that time. Because of the severe condition, Jeremiah saw that and he cried, literally cried out, is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wounds of my people? Does this sound familiar in our times? As it was back then, so it is right now. The leaders back then were not interested in the people. They were interested in material and political gain. They lacked interest in the spiritual condition in their times. Same here today. He noticed the lack of caring leaders both politically and religiously. Jeremiah saw the hurt, the frustration, the anger, and the fear of the people. He saw the wounds of the people and how that they were broken and needed healing. He pleaded with the leaders of the land and the people to turn to God, turn to God for guidance, for help. But they refused to listen to him. You are well acquainted with the story how that they put him down in a pit and hoped that he would die. But God kept him safe, and God laid it upon the heart of someone to cry to the king and say, come on, that man is going to die in that place. Take him out of there. Situation remains the same. People have no respect for the leaders, men of God. People are more concerned about politicians They're hoping that politicians could provide for all their needs. And politicians give people the impression that they could. So people look to them for everything. They have themselves to blame. They need to encourage people to look to God. Especially in these times, as we see the wells are running dry, the money wells. Really going to get money from to continue this thing of always handing out money. Is there a bomb in Gilead? In keeping with our topic here tonight, very briefly, I wanted to look at a few things about the bomb of Gilead. Number one, the bomb of Gilead was needed. Or in other words, it was necessary. God knew way in advance that they were going to need this bomb. And so he created this tree way back in the beginning. And it was a tree, as I mentioned, was sort of limited to that particular area. And it is said that it took time, as we shall see in a little while, for them to get that sap out of that tree. but it was definitely necessary and needed and God knew that and so he provided it. It was needed because the people were desperately sick. God put the wisdom there that they go there and get the thing and that they would be healed. And we only have to read these chapters of prophecy by Jeremiah to discover that the people in question were out of touch with God and they did not even know what God wanted them to do and what they were supposed to do. If ever a time that people were out of touch with God, it is right now. And this virus is creating an environment to get people farther away from God. And after people have not been in church for almost one year, it's going to become very easy for them to stay at home. You have ungodly leaders who are telling people that it is not necessary to go to church to worship, you can stay at home. Where they get that authority from? And people are going to think that, oh they're concerned about us. They're not concerned about you. All this is a trick and leading up to something. To get people to turn away from God. Instead of telling you about how bad it is. Today for you to stay home and don't go out. Because of corona. And don't go to church. And I don't understand why they think that. church people, people who go to church are so silly that they don't know how to follow protocol. At the same time, they're saying that churches must be closed. But in the United States, the abortion clinics never closed. And people were prohibited from going there to protest. People were going to protest to say, how come the abortion clinic is open and the churches are closed? and some pastors and preachers could not see that and they are overlooking the fact that they are murdering over a million babies per year through abortion a million people have not died yet from corona in the United States so it's payback time now You kill out the babies and Corona kill out the old people. Common sense should have told them, well, let's stop the abortion because since the old people are dying off, this is affecting the old people. If we kill out the babies and the old people die, pretty soon there'll be nobody here. And so, We have to be careful and listen to the voice of God. Stop listening to politicians, what they're telling you and misleading you. They were living in disobedience to God. Here was the bomb and they were spiritually sick, needed to be healed. The healing here, really and truly, that Jeremiah is talking about, is not necessarily the physical, but the spiritual. True, the balm was literal, and it was good for healing people's physical sickness. But he was lightening it here onto the spiritual. And just as there was a balm, for the physical ailments. There was a bomb for the spiritual, but they just couldn't see it. We only have to listen to the news to be convinced of this. For all the terrible things which are happening and what is going on in the world is evidence that man is spiritually sick and need healing. Presley, even religious leaders are going along with the nonsense that politicians are talking. And I'm not going through that again. But you know some of the things that they're talking about. To avoid talking about it, I just want you to turn to Romans chapter 1, and read a few verses here in Romans chapter 1, which you should be well acquainted with. Romans chapter 1, and it's kind of lengthy, I don't think I'm going to take the time to read all of it, but I want you to read it for yourself. And everybody should be acquainted with Romans chapter 1, verse 18 to verse 32, but I'll just read part of it. It's difficult to read just a part of it, but it says here, For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them, for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world clearly seen being understood by the things which are made even his eternal power and Godhead so that they are without excuse creation the handiwork of God is seen in creation and this could not have popped up itself Somebody had to be working and putting things together. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were they thankful, but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing themselves to be wives, they became fools. and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man and to birds and four-footed beasts and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lust of their own hearts to dishonor their own bodies between themselves, changing the truth of God into a lie, and worship and serve the creature more than the creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. And it goes on to talk about some of the things that they will do. And I think I need to read verse 26. For this cause, God gave them up unto vile affection, for even their women did change their natural use into that which is against nature. And likewise, also the men, leaving the natural use of women, burning in themselves, lusting after one another, men with men, working that which is unreasonable, unthinkable, unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their own error, which was not me, it was not good. So the bomb was definitely necessary, and as it was then, so it is now, more than ever before, because the eyes of man, or men, have been blinded. Number two, not only the bomb was needed, but the bomb was very precious. In that, this bomb was known for its fragrance. And it was precious, very precious. After much care, we are told that those who set out to extract it from the tree could At most, get only a few drops each time. But they patiently got it. And it was very, very costly. But it had that healing power to all those who used it. And as that thing was precious, so it is with the blood of Christ. that the blood of Christ we are told according to Peter and John and the others that we are redeemed not with corruptible things such as silver and gold but with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. So as this balm was precious and good for the physical healing, so is the blood of Christ is precious and is absolutely necessary for the spiritual healing that is needed in our times. 1 Peter 1, 18 and 19. And then we have John 3, 16. For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten son. Then we have John 3 and 37. And it goes on and on and on and on. and they've given us an invitation to the gospel of Christ and come and take the blood of Christ which is so precious. He shed his precious blood for man's sin that man might be made whole. Not only that this balm was desperately needed and God provided and the balm was precious, but brethren, the balm was easily applied. The mom of Gilead, you are told that it was so easily applied that a child could have used it and if a child had a wound, you just wipe the thing with that ointment and anybody could have done that. So it is with the gospel of Christ, brethren. Very easy to be applied. And a lot of times, we allow our children to slip through our hands because of our ignorance. Talk about that. These children don't know what they might do. They know what they're doing. You don't know what you're doing. If you don't believe me, ask Ariana. Right, Ariana? Amen, Ariana. Well, maybe all of you know the story about Arianna, but Arianna wanted to know, how much longer am I going to wait? I'm saved. When am I going to be baptized? That's good, man. Breathing. You know that I've been one to advocate that children need to be saved and baptized by the time they're five years old. The communists want your children for just five years, and then they give them back to you. There is one thing you can do about them. Breathing. You see the people of, you probably have seen pictures. You have all kind of modern equipment. You know what I've seen? The people of South, sorry, North Korea. All of them look like they're ready to die from malnutrition. And the leader look like a pupil. I hear they do whatever he say. And they're in an army. And listen, you try to cross the border and get to South Korea, they'll kill you. Man, instead all of them join together and run over South Korea and go get some food to eat. People look starved. But what? They have been brainwashed. I've seen pictures, and this is no fake stuff, where the people they are eating, literally eating grass. And this is no exaggeration. But yet, they worship their leader, who had them in starvation. Why? Because they've been brainwashed from their children, from their young. No, I'm not saying that we brainwash these children. We give them the word of God. Teach them in Sunday school that there is a balm and Gilead and a balm that could save them and heal them. Save their sin sick souls. And it is very easily applied. Even if when they get older, they're straight, they'll come back. Some of them may say they don't remember when they get to be teenagers. They don't remember much about it and they want to do it over. Let them do it over. Nothing is wrong with that. Can one not believe? And I've done it here at Shiloh. Where one particular person said that she, you know, well, I don't want to say too much about it that you don't know who I'm talking about, but the person was saved and baptized, young child, went away to a foreign country. and came back and said, she don't remember. And therefore, she wanted to do it over. Although I show her pictures, I say, listen, you remember when we had the, you know, you were in the, your conference over. The nominee says, don't have any memory. I don't know what happened. And she wanted to do it over. So I mean, I argue, do it over. I don't know what went wrong, but whatever went wrong, do it over. But get these children saved when they're young. Parents, please. Don't raise your children for the devil. But you've got to be careful. The bomb is easily applied. But we are careless. But not only that, number four, see how simple it is. It is easy applied. It's very easy to be applied. But the bomb had to be applied. It must be applied. If you don't apply it, it's not going to work. If you don't get these children active in Bible club and Sunday school and youth fellowship, we are going to lose them. Not me. You are going to lose them. I was not going to sit back and watch the devil come and take my children out. I had to sweat to raise them for the devil. No way. And I let them know that they have to make a contribution to Shiloh. God bless you. Brought you from where you were down there. You know, God brought you up, make a contribution to his work and not to the work of the devil. Many people don't want to see their children active in church work. No, I'm not saying everybody's going to be active in full-time fellowship, full-time service, but at least be active in the work of God. God gave them to you. Give them back to God. Amen. Well, I left out Matthew 28 verses, uh, sorry, Matthew 11, uh, 28 and 30. That's how easy it is. Come on to me and I have you later and I will No matter what age you are, maybe you didn't have the opportunity to do it when you were young, you do it when you are older. I was not born and raised in a Christian family, you know, as such, born in a safe-souled church or safe-souled home, but those of you who have the opportunity to be born in a family where your parents are Christians, come on, follow your parents' example, and I hope they lead you in a good example, and parents, I hope you lead your children by a good example. Ibrahim is very easily applied. If you take your children, especially mothers who have more time, and you read Bible stories to them, Books becoming extinct. Well, you got phone and thing. Go ahead and use it. I prefer my hard copy. And if I live to be another 100 years, well, not really. I don't want to. Give me my hard copy. I know they say it's on. I'm not reading an e-book. I want my physical book, the hard copy. Finally here, I mentioned to you, the bomb had to be applied. very easy to be applied, and brethren, you know, at times, what happens? The bomb is in abundance, it's available, but it's not being applied. People come to church. Sometimes I pass by and I see the children, they come to church, and they back their head down. What do you think they might do? You think they're reading a book? They're on their phone. Maybe WhatsApp or now, what else they have? Whatever they have, Facebook or whatever. I trust, when you come to church, I make sure that I leave my phone in the car. Nobody call me, don't disturb me. I am not available. You know how many times I call people and they don't answer their phone? What happened? They're busy. I'm out working, you know? They don't answer their phone. When I'm in church, I think I mentioned to you, I am not a doctor. Don't call me. You know what I'm in church on Sunday morning? You know what I'm in church on Sunday night? If anything happen, you wait until I get home. And so if anybody send me a message, anybody call me, the phone could stay down. It could ring till it fall off on the floor or anything. Some people, you see them, they've done the phone, they've gone out the door. When you come back, what do you think is going to happen? You're not focused. You're not concentrated. You can't. The people break up your concentration. Let me ask you something. If you go to the bank and you're sitting there with the bank manager, and you phone me, you hear you are either looking at a job or you're borrowing some money. What are you going to tell him? Hold on a minute, I got to call you. And you go on outside, go answer your call. But when you come back, the man don't... He gone! Listen! You think he's going to study you? They do? Oh, OK. Well, this must be the new thing. Let's move on here, because I'm not with the... But if I was a bank manager, you come to look at job, or you come to look at loan, and you talk about, excuse me, I answer my phone, I just said, hey, get the hell out of here. You're not ready yet. You come to church to worship, tell people, don't bother me, don't bother me. I'm not a doctor. Brethren, cancer is a horrible disease. Coronavirus It's a horrible disease. And I venture to say that, no doubt, every one of us here tonight has had somebody in our family impacted either by cancer or corona. Very terrible diseases. Some have fought it and some beat it. Some did not. Some are still fighting corona. Well, not necessarily here, but family members overseas. Family members, as a result of cancer, suffered tremendously and lost the battle. And he said that Many physicians, scientists, and laboratories all over the world are trying hard to find a cure for cancer, a vaccine, a tablet. You know how hard they've been trying to get this vaccine for this coronavirus. And the sooner they get the vaccine and they start, I think it was even before, We hear there's another strain of the virus. So what happened? The vaccine that they're making now not going to be good for the next strain of virus? Does that say anything to you? But one thing I understand that they're trying hard to get either a tablet, a pill, or a vaccine for cancer. But let us just imagine that they find a pill or they have a vaccine. that could wipe out cancer and there will be no more cancer. But there is somebody who is sick and you tell them about this vaccine and you tell them about this tablet and they say that I am not going to risk taking a tablet and I'm not going to risk taking any uh vaccine. I'm going to take my chances. What would you say? You you're not a thing that a person is crazy. Here's a pill. Take the pill and we cure your cancer. Here's the vaccine. Take it and we'll cure But sadly, there are many people who are terminally ill spiritually. And here we have a bomb, the bomb in Chile. The cure for the disease. And they're saying, I'm not ready yet. Not now. Probably next, maybe next year. And like the pastor said this morning, I was thinking the same thing. I thought that this coronavirus would have caused people to rush. And I thought that there would be a revival and this would be you when you go and see people turning to God. But it seems that this coronavirus is driving people further away from God. I don't understand it. And here we have the cure for the sin sickness. People are not studying it. People don't care. People don't mind dying without Jesus Christ. But one thing I want to say to you, it's amazing really and astonishing that people prefer to go ahead and some of them as a result of this sin sickness, they're addicted to all kind of things and they don't believe that Jesus Christ is the cure for the addiction. Sometimes they come and in a little while they're back again and no, they can't stop drinking. I don't believe it. If they want to, they can. You put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ. No matter what kind of addiction that you have, the balm of Gilead, Jesus Christ, is able to cure you of that addiction. It may be that some of you tonight need healing physically, spiritually. The cure is the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There is healing in this balm tonight. There is healing in this place, in this house here at Shiloh. There is healing for your body. There is healing for your mind. There is healing for your soul. Hey, there's even healing for your marriage. There's healing for your spirit. Whatever need that you have, you may sound, you may think that all this is being frivolous. It is not! Jesus Christ is able. And again, as the pastor said this morning, with God, all things are possible. There isn't anything too hard for God. The question was asked, is there anything too hard for the Lord? No matter what your situation is, no matter what your addiction is, God is able. The balm of Gilead is here. And here Jehovah was crying, look at the condition of my people, the heart of the daughter of my people and my heart. And it's very hurtful to see our young people turning their backs upon God and don't want to have anything to do with God. They just continue to move away from God, drift away, drift away. You better be careful. I want to believe that next year is going to be very difficult. They're going to be tough times. There are wounds that are being created right now that are going to take years to heal. Give you one example and I'll close. The financial damage that is being caused by this virus will take years to heal. The amount of businesses that are going out of business. We heard him talking about the new normal. Be careful with that talk. You notice the change now to the great reset, as I mentioned to you Sunday school class this morning. Perhaps some of you have seen the Time Magazine talking about welcoming the new reset. Be careful with that talk. God has a reset that they don't know about. You know what this new reset is? The one world government taking control over the world. And I've heard some of the men said, don't ever let a good crisis go to waste. They feel as though that this crisis of this corona, it's time for us now to have the one world currency, the one world government, and a one world church. And the Pope is all embracing it because he thinks that he's going to be in control. One world government, one world currency, and a one world church. They have been fighting to get it for the last 40 years. And every time they thought that they had it, something happened and they break up. Just the other day they thought that they had the one world currency, but then what you had, Brexit. And so it's setting them back. You see, they're trying to run ahead of God's program. As I mentioned, that I really thought that the world was coming to an end in 2000. But here we are, 20 years later, and we're still going. Matthew, there could be another 20 years, I don't know. But there might just be another 20 days or 20 hours or 20 minutes. We don't know. But God has his program. They think that their program is ahead of God. For the last 40 years, they've been trying to get this one world government, one world church, and the one world currency. And they think they have it now. Let everybody stay at home. Don't let them come out. And you put everybody talking about everybody on the same level, but it can't happen. You're going to always have the poor with you. But what are they going to do? They're going to destroy the middle class. And so you're going to have the rich, rich, rich, and the poor, poor, poor. I've been told and I've heard. A cruise business will never be the same again. It's not coming back as it was. So those of you who have not had your cruises yet, it just might be over. I don't want to dampen your spirit, but I said that most of the cruise liners will not be coming back after being out of business for almost a year, and you don't know how long it's going to be. Let's think about cruising to heaven. Amen? Amen? There's a bomb in Gilead. You need to get your soul saved. If you're not saved as yet. If you're not close to God. Parents get your children saved. We don't know. Jesus Christ could come before the end of the year. I hope that he does. But if he doesn't, we'll go on. But he's going to keep us safe. Amen. Amen. Apply the balm to your life. Is there no balm in Gilead? Yes, there is. But it must be applied.
