Well, good morning, everyone. Welcome to Wheat Among the Tares. This live broadcast brought to you from Gethsemane Baptist Church in Lexington, South Carolina. Thank you so much for joining us here this morning and pastor. Welcome to you, my brother. Yes, sir. Good morning to you, my brother and all that are listening this morning. Thank you for being on. Amen. Blessing to have everybody listening in this morning. And I appreciate the fact that you take the time every Wednesday morning to come and visit with us and listen to us. And I want to go ahead and go straight, Pastor, to our guest this morning because of the fact that we had a conversation a little bit earlier with him, and he is going through some COVID situation right now. And so I want to go ahead and get him, number one, on the air, and then, number two, get him off because of the fact I know he is feeling fairly poorly. But I appreciate Bill Watcott being with us. Mr. Watcott, welcome to Wheat Among the Tares this morning, my brother. Good morning. Thank you for having me on. Bill, it's a blessing to have you on, and I want to first of all introduce this story that I found probably about two weeks ago in Round Figures. And it dealt with your long-term situation with regard to prosecution against you as a result of your attendance to a pride parade back in Toronto, I believe it was, in 2016. So this happened about five, almost six years ago now. And what had happened, and I want to fill, first of all, our listeners in with the background on this, but you were at a pride parade, and you were handing out pamphlets that dealt with the, and I'm quoting the article here now, scientific warnings about the dangers of homosexual situation along with scripture. And you were warning those that were involved in that type of lifestyle. And as a result of that, the Attorney General of Ottawa, Canada charged that the pamphlet that you were handing out consisted of criminal hate speech and he was seeking an 18-month prison term against you. Now I want to first of all ask just Bill if you would just go back in your mind and just that particular day and Kind of what you, and maybe, I don't know if anybody else was with you at the time, but kind of give us a background on what was going on that particular day with regard to you just handing out the tracks. Okay. Yeah, it was, it's a little more, a little more complicated than that. We actually, I applied to march in the parade as an openly Christian man. And I didn't expect them to accept that on my application. I said I wanted to share the gospel and the health risks of homosexual sex and the good news that Jesus Christ can set people free of those types of behaviors. Not surprisingly, they turned me down. So, you know, and you got to keep in mind in Canada, I don't know about the U.S., but up here it is funded by the government. So it is taxpayer funded. and taxpayers have an interest in this thing. So anyways, then I applied as a gay zombie cannabis consumer, and I had an idea that they would take me as that, and indeed they did. And they put our contingent in with the Leathermen and the Conservative Party of Canada, which is, if you could imagine like Donald Trump marching with a bunch of naked guys, it's just surreal that you got these politicians and this other stuff going on all within eyesight. So once, you know, we were in the parade, I used, you know, as St. Paul said, be all things to all people that you can save some. Well, once I was in, I had this $19 million apparatus that indeed communicates information, and I used it to bring the gospel. We got out 3,500, I think, or was it 3,000? zombie safe sex packages, that's actually what I called them, with the testimony of Walt Hare, a former transgender who came to Christ, statistical information on different diseases inherent to the homosexual lifestyle, and then the good news that Jesus Christ can set you free. Now it didn't start with a criminal hate speech, it started in Ottawa at Parliament Hill, uh... the lgbt lawyers and politicians and what not got up on the uh... in the parliament hill press gallery so that'd be like your congress if you could imagine there were seven of us by the way you asked there were seven christians and they thought we had a multi-million dollar megachurch backing us as you're probably aware most most megachurches don't want to be involved in this kind of evangelism they don't uh... no no no they don't Uh, we, we pretty much did it on a budget of $4,000. Uh, you know, people who aren't very rich giving me 50 bucks here and there. And then at the time I was working for Teamsters in the movie industry and they actually put me on this, uh, parking lot security for a homosexual propaganda piece. So I just used all the money for, for the parade. So when they were doing discovery, they were going to have to sue their own movie producer, uh, because he actually funded half of my ministry. Uh, they, they, they just simply didn't, didn't know it until after the fact. But, um, anyways, um, anyways, this, uh, they, they actually launched $104 million lawsuit that went for two years. They, they discovered us flat broke. They told me they'd put me in jail indefinitely if I didn't give up the names of my supporters. And I pretty much said, I'd rather stay in jail indefinitely than do that. So after two years, when they discovered I really had nothing to seize, and they spent a ton of money accomplishing very little, they dropped it. And then one of the last acts of the provincial government, it wasn't actually the Canadian Attorney General, it was the Ontario Attorney General. Yeah, they put out a Canada-wide arrest warrant, had me arrested in Alberta and flew me back to Toronto. And this is two years after my ministry. uh... they were still that matter but with the flyer i guess and then yeah it went for over three years this trial and finally concluded with a loss uh... on their side uh... but they died uh... i just learned before christmas they don't want to drop it they want to appeal it to the court of the appeal to try to get another trial in order to get me convicted of a hate crime but the flyer was not hateful and even even the judge said he didn't really agree with it but it was not criminal hate speech in any sense. Bill, I want to read some excerpts from the tract here, and I have it in my hand. And for those who are just joining us, we're talking with Bill Watkot. Bill is a president who lives in Alberta, Canada, and he was arrested in 2016 for being part of pride parade in Toronto and as a result of this was arrested and and pastor I want to say it is overwhelming for me to even think about to what lengths they have gone thus far in just what he's described to us. Now, we've been in jail before for preaching and whatnot, and thankfully that God delivered us from the hand of those that were oppressing us. It took a while, but God did that. And I'm thinking, before I read this, I'm just thinking of what Brother Watcott has been through, number one, and to the length that these people are going to try to silence his, and again, really it's not anything that he's saying per se, it is really what the scriptures are saying concerning this particular sin against God, and that's exactly what it is, Pastor. Let me read to you just a bit of this, and then Bill, I'll get your comments on it. But in the pamphlet, this is what you wrote. You said, Canada has embarked on a destructive journey toward sexual anarchy and homosexual inspired oppression. The fruit of sexual anarchy is the rejection of God's plan of lifelong heterosexual matrimony and replacing the virtues of chastity, fidelity, unconditional love, and lifelong commitment to one's spouse, with all kinds of pornography and sin, etc. I'll just describe it as that. The clear evidence contained in this pamphlet shows Canada's new sexual ethic is contrary to number one natural law, and no good will come of it. Now, Pastor, we can read Romans chapter 1 and clearly see what that is. And Bill, I know you went on to state some things out of Romans chapter 1, talking about just the rejection of God's direction as a whole. And we understand those things, but the world does not, and they become more and more enamored, and I want to use that word, with this whole situation with what is being pushed and enforced upon the American public here, the Canadian public, and the world as a whole when it comes to this whole thing. And brother, I want to get your mind just concerning what's going on as far as right now. You say they have, they're appealing this thing. And now the next step, and I want our listeners to understand how better to pray for you. So give us an idea right now where things are at and what you are foreseeing and what your lawyer is dealing with. Well, I really never thought they were going to appeal it. And in fact, they were throwing so many cases out of court in the name of keeping us safe from COVID. that my lawyer thought there's a real chance my case would get thrown out. But like you said, they probably put over a million dollars worth of resources into this. So between the Canada-wide arrest warrant and the court time and trial prep, and I think they've had two prosecutors generally working on my case. So it's very expensive, and I guess they don't want to let that investment go to the wayside. Because of COVID, our courts are quite clogged up, so I probably won't actually get in front of the Ontario Court of Appeals until maybe September or October or November, somewhere there next year, according to my lawyer, John Rosen. He's a very competent man, and not actually a Christian, but a very smart, Uh, man, he actually had the place in Wikipedia as Canada's, uh, most experienced and best, uh, trial lawyer. So it was a miracle that I got him. Um, you know, I'm fairly confident that if things go normally, uh, this thing should get thrown out or should die in the court of appeal. But who knows when it comes to LGBT, um, that, that, that new God, has really skewed things in our courts, and a lot of lawyers who've never dealt with these issues are kind of shocked at the way judges go and rulings go when it's LGBT versus just a good old-fashioned drug charge or something. Brother, again, just having been through not a similar situation as far as what we faced, from a prosecution, say, from the homosexual crowd, but rather just from pastor, from merchants, people that just absolutely did not want to hear the gospel. Just pass her by. Exactly. And again, we know what that's like for those court cases just to, and I'll use the word, just hang over your head for years going until you finally get some kind of answer some kind of rendering concerning them. And I'll, excuse me, I want our listeners specifically to pray for Brother Watcott here as far as this thing continuing to drag on. Certainly that God would strengthen him much when it comes to just the grace of day-by-day situations, Pastor. Sure, and to the, you know, and then the element of the unknown. hopefully it goes that way by the grace of God, you know. But the truth of the matter is, the other side, they're the ones that are driven by hate. You know, they're so blind to it, they can't see it. But all of this, that kind of money, that kind of agenda, it really is because of a hatred of righteousness and a hatred of the truth. Bill, I don't want to keep you long, because again, I know you're fighting some sickness and illness, and again, I want to say thank you, first of all, for taking the time to call in and inform us of this, because I want our listeners to know that this is a story that most people would have never, ever heard about. And when I saw it, it immediately pricked my mind in saying, you know, I want our listeners to understand this. I want them to know better how to pray for you because, you know, honestly, Pastor and Brother Watcott, I'll say it to both of you. There's probably things similar going on here in the United States right now that we don't necessarily know about, but it's happening and certainly the nation of Canada has greatly degraded when it comes to just the social and moral ethics that is going on. And you think about Canada being under the crown of England for so long, that's where we got our King James Bible from and all that. But yet it is just so quickly gone downhill. Bill, what in the western part of Canada right now, probably, I want to hope, at least a little more conservative out in that area, As far as the spiritual temperature, how is it out there? Specifically in the rural, there is still some Christian influence, but no, the big western cities are not much better than San Francisco. The mayors of both Calgary and Edmonton march in the homosexual ungodly pride parade. That's what I call it. They march every year. Yes. And then, uh, I don't, I don't know if you guys follow much here, your energy situation. Um, for some strange reason, Biden and Fruto, your, your, your president and our prime minister, uh, conspired to, uh, destroy the pipeline. And that was the very left wing thing because now you're, you're dependent on Saudi oil and our mayor of Calgary, which, uh, oil is the number one industry there. She declared a so-called climate emergency about two months ago, and this is when unemployment's at about 9% And our our oil industry is on life support, so it seems that the left is very Self-destructive would be the word yes, and they really do want to self-destruct our Western economies and Western freedoms So no freedom is very anemic aside from my case they had over a 200 police that shut down a church in Edmonton because they dared to hold church services during COVID. Yeah, they keep marijuana shops open so you can go medicate yourself on drugs and alcohol. You know, we can do that, but we can't work at that church because that would be spreading COVID. No, it's a real problem. And I've seen a huge change. And I think our freedom was in trouble a couple of years ago. It was probably in trouble for the last 50 years. But I've seen a very marked, discernible oppression come upon this country that even people who don't share my views are starting to notice. Things that you took for granted, freedom of speech, freedom to travel, freedom to associate, property rights, all those things are gone. The right to go to church, which was almost unquestioned. Some of our churches have been closed for over two years now. Brother, and again, we have followed here, we through this whole COVID situation for the last couple of years, we've followed that very closely, and both here in the United States and Canada. But we are thankful that the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is still powerful and can save, and for anyone who will come in repentance to God, he will save them. Well, Brother Watkow, I do want to take just a moment to, we want to pray with you. It's our custom here to pray for those that are, you know, going through some things, Pastor. And so we want to pray for Brother Watkow, excuse me, we want to pray for this whole situation. and that God would give the victory, and that it looks like at least a temporary victory here based on the appeal situation and whatnot. So, pastor, I want you to, let's definitely pray for Brother Watkin here, if you will. Yes, Father, we do pray for our dear brother now, all that he's been through. Thank you for the victories that you have given through this. And Lord, the gospel that has been spread and even gone forth because of this. And many times when the world tries to squelch out the gospel, it reaches even more people. And I do pray for the future as Lord, the left with their wicked agenda is trying to take our dear brother back to court and appeal this. And I pray that it will go away, that it'll be thrown away. that, Lord, that they will, if they wanna, Lord, you break them through spending more money, just like throwing it to the wind. And, Lord, thank you how you did that in even our own situation years ago. And I pray that you'll give victory. I pray that you'll give him wisdom in days ahead. I pray for Canada, Lord. I pray for, Lord, religious liberty too. take hold again, and for those that are other preachers and Christians that are being oppressed there, that you'll bring deliverance in their situations. Again, we thank you for the gospel, and we know that, Lord, the gospel will never be put out. that you will send forth your word, that it will do forth and go forth and do what you please. And so I pray, Lord, and I thank you for the lawyer our dear brother has. We pray for him, that you give him wisdom, and we pray for his soul, Lord. We pray for him to be saved and to know Christ as a savior. and Jesus Christ's name we ask it, amen. Amen. Bill Whatcott, it's been a pleasure to have you this morning, sir. Certainly it is a subject that a lot of people don't like to talk about, but it is one that needs to be talked about. And we trust that God's blessings be upon you during the fight that you have there. And we're trusting that God would deliver many as a result of your witness for the Lord Jesus Christ. May God bless you, my brother, and thank you for being on weed among the tears this morning. Thank you. Thank you for having me. God bless you guys as well. Take care. Bye bye. Bye bye. Pastor, certainly a fight. And I can't help but think of just the hours that he has gone through of wondering, you know, what is going to happen. Well, I mean, to me, you think, you know, what we faced was really more because of street preaching, which is very much in your face in a way. Yeah. You know, it's there. You're not going to avoid, you're going to hear it until you pass and go away. And this is not, I mean, their agenda is so full of hatred. This is just because of a gospel track. Exactly. A little, a piece of paper put in their hands or the words on it, you know, and, um, just shows you the, the depravity of their heart and the hatred for the truth. And, you know, this is not, they could have rejected it. They could have said, I don't even want it. Don't want to hear it and just passed on by. And so it just shows you the depth of, of the darkness that is attached to this. And of course the Apostle Paul said for us to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather to reprove them. And I read an interesting statement yesterday in our closing here this morning, but it says, darkness never dispels itself. and it will not. Light has to come in order for darkness to be dispelled. And I'm certainly thankful for Brother Watcott and his stand there, his concern, number one, about souls. That was his purpose, as you can read in this tract. And certainly we desire that God's blessings be upon him. One other thing that I did want to mention this morning, I just recently saw, and for you that are listening, I did want to bring this to your attention. We interview missionaries from around the world periodically, and we have a missionary couple in Burkina Faso, the Brown family. And I was reading an article here just this morning, and they are dealing with predicting, if you would, just the hotspots of persecution for the coming year. Nigeria is number one, and of course they are constantly in the news. We talked about that just in our previous broadcast. and Burkina Faso is number two. And so we need to pray for the Browns. They are there in the midst of this. So folks, again, Wheat Among the Tares is here for that purpose, to let you know how better to pray for those, number one, that we do interviews with, that we do conversations with. and that we can convey this information to you every week here on the broadcast. We trust that you will pray for us here, that God would lead Pastor and myself as we bring these stories to you, and that you would remember to pray for those that we interview here. I appreciate you joining us this morning. Trust that you'll join us every Wednesday morning at nine o'clock Eastern time here for Weed Among the Tares. God bless you, and trust that you'll have a blessed day in the Lord.

This episode provides a detailed history of Mr. Wattcott's arrest and 5-year court case involving his involvement in handing out pamphlets in Toronto CA at a Pride Parade in 2016. Brother Wattcott provides some very interesting facts about the prosecution of his case, and the depth to which the Canadian government has pursued this situation, and the initial victory he has won through the Lord's intervention. Be reminded to pray for this brother as you listen...
