Sunday school this morning. I'm sorry for my tardiness. It's not that I'm late. We had to move men's prayer room to the Bible Institute room because we had so much stuff. We had to move out of here, drum set, and a bunch of other things off the platform. So the prayer room back here was full. So we had to go to the Bible Institute. They still over prayin', praise God. Those of you men that don't join us for prayer room, you're missing out. Some of the Holy Ghost got up in there this morning. Folk got a testifying and a shouting. We've already had church over there for about 20 minutes this morning. And if you don't come to prayer room, I wish you'd join us, come help us pray. I think we're gonna have to start backing prayer room up to about 9.30. They get to testifying and shouting and having a good time. Time gets away from us, so what a blessing, what a blessing. I appreciate men that'll pray and seek the face of God this morning. All right, take your Bibles and go with us to the book of 2 Peter and chapter number two. 2 Peter and chapter number two this morning is where we'll draw our text. Sure do appreciate the Lord helping us. Why in the world God would ever mess around with people like us, I have no idea. If you think you're worthy of God messing around with you, then God bless you. You pray for the rest of us that know we sorry is the devil. And if you wonder why things look different, most of y'all probably already know what's going on. We've had our Christmas production Friday night. And then we're having another showing tonight at seven o'clock. So instead of moving everything back in just to move everything back out, I just told them, look, don't move everything back in. I can use a smaller pulpit. Same groceries gonna come out of it, whether it's a little pulpit or a big pulpit, amen. And we're just gonna let the choir stand up here this morning for a couple of songs instead of the choir loft. And so things are just a little bit different this morning, but that's okay, that's okay. And so, man, how many of y'all was here Friday night for the play? How many of you was here Friday night? Man, what a blessing. Praise God. Telling you, I thought I was gonna get raptured out a couple times there. And I'm excited to see it again. I really am. So it'll be shown again tonight at seven o'clock. Church tonight at seven, not at six. At seven. But I will encourage you with this much. There are a lot of guests coming tonight, not just visitors that some of y'all have invited and told me about, but I know Open Door is planning on having their church service early tonight. I think they're having communion. They're gonna do that early, like at 5, 530, just so they can come over. So I don't know how many they might be bringing. So all I'm saying is this, if you want a good seat, somewhere either closer to the front or kind of towards the aisles or something like that, be able to see the characters and cast as they're coming down back and forth, you might wanna get here a little bit earlier, okay? You might wanna be here 6, just a little after 6, something like that, 6.15, 6.30 at the latest to get a fairly good seat. It was full Friday night. It's full Friday night, so I appreciate that. So much work has gone into that. We appreciate what the Lord's done. All right, 2 Peter chapter number two. For the most part of this chapter, for the majority of it, I guess all the way to around verse 17, Yeah, about verse 17 or 18. We're just simply looking at the false prophets. We'll get to the people that the false prophets deceive in another few weeks. But the first thing we're gonna look at for the majority of this chapter are dealing with false prophets. False prophets in the past and the false teachers now in the present. Let's just begin in verse one, and we'll make it now where we left off last week, which was verse three. Verse number one of 2 Peter chapter two, but there were false prophets also among the people. Peter is going back, dealing with the false prophets back in the Old Testament, of which we looked at last week. He said, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privilege shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them. We talked about last week how Jesus didn't just die for the elect. Jesus didn't just die for those that would receive him. He even died for those he knew that would reject him this morning. He died for everyone. The Bible said he, by the grace of God, should taste death for every man this morning. Said that, deny the Lord the bottom and bring upon themselves swift destruction. Verse two. And many shall follow their pernicious ways by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. Now verse three is where we left off last week. And through covetousness. Notice part of the whole reason behind the false teaching, behind the deception. One of the roots behind deception, pernicious doctrine, the word pernicious means dangerous, means fatal, behind this doctrines that can kill your spiritual walk with God, that's dangerous to you spiritually. What's one of the main motives behind a lot of that? Well, you know what it is. First Timothy chapter six, verse number 10, ain't it? For the love of money. The reason behind a lot of this stuff is it's just about making money. It's about getting things. There's no other reason why you can figure why a so-called preacher would make up doctrines like prosperity gospel. Y'all, you've read your New Testament. Show me where Paul had a prosperity gospel. The dude didn't have two nickels to rub together. Paul's locked up in prison more often than not. He ain't got nothing. The Bible said about Jesus that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. Talk about rich spiritually, not necessarily rich with money. I'm not against the fact that you work a job and buy something and do whatever. I'm not necessarily against that. This idea that the gospel is centered around if you walk with God, you're gonna drive, you know, a Lexus, a Rolls Royce, a Mercedes, a BMW, or a Chrysler, a Ford, a Chevrolet. You're not guaranteed any of that. I get so sick with the idea that the gospel somehow is tied to possessions in any shape, form, or fashion. The gospel is simply this. You lost without God and going to hell, and you need to get born again. And the fact is, if you get born again and start walking with God, that does not necessarily mean that God's gonna give you stuff. We got this idea, we started looking at God like he's some sort of glorified Santa Claus. I sit on God's lap, I ask for this, I get this. It don't always work that way. Matter of fact, the Bible said the reason why we don't even see many of our prayers answered according to James is he said, you ask a mist that you might consume it on your lusts. And so anyway, why would a man make up a doctrine like prosperity gospel? Boy, if you'll walk with God and serve the Lord, if you'll tithe, God'll give it back to you tenfold. If you'll give to missions, you'll get it back twentyfold. If you'll walk with God, you'll have health and wealth. Where do you get that from? You don't find that in the New Testament. I mean, you find a bunch of persecution in the New Testament. Why would a man preach something like that? Because he's lining his pockets. Why would a man stand up on the TV and say, if you'll send me $50, I'll send you an anointed prayer cloth that I've prayed over, and I'll send this to you. You ain't no apostle. You ain't Simon Peter. You ain't the apostle Paul. What a prayer cloth you spit on or wipe, sweat and weep, ain't gonna do me no good. I'd wash it if I got it. You know, I mean, this idea, you know, you need to send me money. You need to send me money to keep this program on the air. And if you'll send me money, then God will bless you with money. Well, why don't you just pray God bless you with money and you won't have to worry about me sending you money to keep you on the air? You know, get what I'm saying? So why would people do this kind of stuff? Why they make this stuff up? It's about covetousness. It's money. But watch what it says. Through covetousness shall they with feigned words. The word feigned means counterfeit. In the text, I looked this word up and I thought this was awesome. The word feigned don't just mean counterfeit. In the text, it's an illustrative word. It's like a word with an illustration. And the illustration is clay or wax or stone that has been molded or formed. In other words, it is a it looks like the real thing, but it's not real. It doesn't have life in it. And it said these words are they look real, but they're not. And with these words, watch what they do. They make merchandise of you. Now, I mean, brother, if there's not another verse in the Bible, which there is a lot of verses in the Bible that deal with the modern day Bible version issue, but if there wasn't another one, that's a real good one. Why in the world since the late 1800s has there had to have been hundreds of new, updated, new, revised, more modern, easier to read Bible versions? Well, surely by now, after hundreds of times correcting this, you know, old outdated, archaic, hard to understand King James Bible, surely by now, one of you fellas smart enough to have got it right. Why come every other year they have to throw another version out, Brother John? Why come every year they throw a new one out? New, it's gotta be new, it's gotta be new. I don't trust nothing they claim is new. I don't trust it. Easier to understand, easier to read. They're not, that's a lie. What's the point? Money. It's just money. They're making money. You say, what about the King James Bible? Well, King James Bible doesn't have a copyright on it. It wasn't published to make money. It was published to help people. You say, well, my King James Bible says it's got a copyright. If it does, it's the notes in your Bible. Like if you've got a Schofield reference Bible, Schofield's notes are copyrighted, so you can't change them. So Schofield can make money off of selling his notes, which that's fine. Workman's Worthy was higher, whatever. But as far as the text, there's no copyright on the text. The crown was copyrighted, but that wasn't to keep people from printing it, just to tell you it had the crown seal on it from back in the 1600s. Anybody in this room can take the plain text of the King James Bible and print it off 10,000 times and give it to whoever they want to with absolutely no penalty or no worry about getting sued or taking the court or anything. It's not copyrighted. Are you telling me the greatest seller, the book that has traveled the world over and over and over, that saw all the great revivals, all the great awakenings, and millions upon millions upon millions of people will be in the kingdom of God because of that book and the preaching of that book. Are you telling me that that book wasn't made to make money? Absolutely, that's what I'm telling you. How do you explain that? It's God's book. It's God's book. Um, so anyways, we can say so much more about that. We'll not take the time to do it with covetousness. Shall they with feigned words? You know, well, I got a Bible too. Look, it says Bible on it. Yeah. It's a counterfeit molded shape to look like the real thing. Cause the Bible says this book is not dead. You know that, right? If you got a King James Bible in your lap, what you have ain't a dead book. It's not just dead words on paper. Jesus said, the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life. What I have is a living book. It's alive. It's like the author. In the beginning was the Word, capital W, and the Word was with God and the Word was God, same as in the beginning with God. Jesus is alive. His Word is alive. It's not a dead book. It's an inspired book. Breathe. Every time you open it, God's breathing. So, the problem with the counterfeits is this, it doesn't have the same breath on it that God's book has. It looks alive, like I told you last week about wax statues and, you know, a stone statue of an individual, a monument. Yeah, it looks like the person, but there's a difference between the stone statue, the wax statue, the clay statue. You know the difference between the stone statue of the person and the person? One's alive and one's dead. Well, I'm really smart on it this morning, ain't I? I mean, you know, you go to these places and see these monuments of these guys, and the real guy stands next to his monument. Nobody would think of running up to the stone statue and hugging it and say, oh, I love you, Daddy. I appreciate you, Daddy. Thank you for being good to me, Daddy. No, it's not real. You run to the real. It's just a representation. Brother, I've got the real. Why would I want to run to a counterfeit of the real? Anyways, he said they're going to make merchandise of you. And then it said this about these people whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. In other words, judgment's coming on this stuff. God's not going to hold people guiltless that have done what they've done to the people of God and the things of God. Judgment's coming. And then he's gonna go into a dissertation on judgment. Three different places in scripture. The angels, Noah's day, and Sodom and Gomorrah. We'll start in the angels, look at verse number four. There's some wild stuff to do with this business. And we may go down a little deep, just depending on how deep we feel like going here this morning. But we'll throw some stuff out at you for some of you Bible students. Verse four. For God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness to be reserved unto judgment, and spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly, and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them with an overthrow, making them an example unto those that after should live ungodly. And let's just start in verse four and unpack this. The angels that sin, now we know where they sinned at. Let's just hold our place there and let's get our barons here. Go back to Genesis chapter 6. We know where they sinned at. They sinned on earth and they sinned in the matter of carnal relations with the daughters of men. Now let me pause here, you know, and get some firm footing too. Because I've dealt with people that look at this text and say some really goofy stuff about the text to try and disprove what the Bible plainly says. You say, preacher, do you believe these people in Genesis 6 that we're fixing to look at these sons of God are literal angels that came down and cohabited with the daughters of men? Yes, I absolutely believe that. Plenty of Bible for that. You say, but preacher, the Bible says in the resurrection, people are neither married nor given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. Yep, that's what the Bible says. But do y'all notice something, a big difference about those angels that Jesus referenced in Matthew and these angels here? These ones ain't in heaven. Yeah, in the resurrection body in heaven, there ain't no marrying or giving in marriage. But these angels ain't in heaven. These ones is on earth. A little big difference there. All right, let's read now. Genesis 6-1, and it came to pass when men began to multiply upon the face of the earth and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God. Now we don't have time to run all the references and I'm not even gonna because we've done it before. You should be able to run if you've been in this class the length of time and wrote some cross references down. Or if you got a good study Bible, you should be able to locate the sons of God real easy. Job chapter 1 and Job chapter 2, you find them just like that. There was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves unto the Lord and Satan came also among them. That's not an earthly meeting, that's a meeting in heaven. All right. And it says, Job 38 says this, it says, where was thou when the morning stars sang together, this is talking about in the creation, and all the sons of God shouted for joy. Those aren't mortal men. They're celestial beings, angelic beings. All right, so we get our feet under us about that. The sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair, and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the Lord said, my spirit should not always strive with man. For that he also is flesh, yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years. Now let me pause right here and say this. What is the point of God getting so upset with this world that he's going to destroy it simply because some regular men start marrying some regular women? Regular men and regular women have been marrying each other for thousands of years. So what? Righteous men, unrighteous women. Unrighteous women, unrighteous men. There's something different. It's not just men marrying women. Something from another world that's come down leaving their first estate. We'll look at that in a minute to Jude says that What's what happened with these things they had mutants? verse 4 there were giants in the earth in those days and also after that I personally believe there was some messing around with these sons of God. Something happened where some of them after that was still messing around with some women. We'll talk about that in a minute. Also after that, when the sons of God came into the daughters of men and they bared children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old. men of renown, and God saw the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually, and it repented the Lord. He had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart, and he'll destroy it," so on and so forth. Now, go back to our text and watch what your Bible says about these angels that sin. Now that we got some footing, watch what it said in 2 Peter 2 about the angels that sinned. 2 Peter 2-4. For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell. Now that's clear. They sinned, God cast them down to hell. And delivered them into chains of darkness to be reserved unto judgment. Now Jude says something about this too. Go to the right, you'll go through 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, and then the little one chapter epistle of Jude. It's the book just before Revelation. Just go to the right through three books and you'll find little old Jude. And watch what your Bible said in verse six, Jude in verse six about these angels. Jude in verse six. And the angels, which kept not their first estate, they didn't stay where God put them. They left where they belonged. which kept not the first estate, but left their own habitation. He hath reserved, Jude saying the exact same thing Peter said. He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Now, here's what's clear about these two passages we just looked at in Peter and in Jude. These angels that sinned in Noah's day, they have been reserved in chains somewhere in the underworld down in hell. We clear on that? I mean, that's what they said. That's what Peter said. They sinned, they're reserved in chains. Jude, they sinned in this first estate, left it, come out, now they're reserved in chains. Now watch what the, go with me to Matthew and watch what these unclean spirits say when Jesus shows up. Matthew chapter number eight said, they're reserved unto the judgment. Peter said they're reserved unto judgment, and Jude says it's reserved unto judgment of the great day. Go to Matthew 8 with me. Matthew 8, Jesus is dealing with a demoniac. The Bible says in verse number 28 of Matthew 8, that when he was come to the other side of the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils. coming out of the tombs, exceeding fears so that no man might pass that way. Luke terms it, Matthew calls them devils. Luke terms it unclean spirits, if I'm not mistaken, yes. Luke says in Luke 8, 29, he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. So devils, unclean spirits, same thing. Now watch what they say. Verse 29, and behold, they cried out, saying, what have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? Now watch it. Art thou come hither to torment us? Before, said they, reserved in judgment unto the great day. Before the time. Now here's a question I got for you this morning. If the sons of God, fallen angels, These angels that fell and sin in the days of Noah, if they are locked up in hell, then what are devils, demons, and unclean spirits? See, now your mind's turning, ain't it? Because all your life, that's what you've been told all your life. You said devils, demons, and unclean spirits, those are fallen angels. I just read to you in the Bible where the fallen angels, they're locked up, right? You read that just like I read it. So what are these things? Now, I'm just going to be real honest with you. I'm not going to be able to give you a totally definitive answer, but I'm going to give you the Cody Zorn biblical view that I gave to our men and young men in Bible Institute probably a year ago when we did angelology and demonology. This is what I believe. I believe that unclean spirits, devils and demons, listen to what I'm fixing to say, listen to my wording. I didn't read this in a book. I've never read this in a book. This is what I personally believe and I'm going to give you scripture for it. I believe devils, demons and unclean spirits that inhabit people like this one inhabited people and there's a bunch of other unclean spirits Jesus cast out in the Bible. I believe they are the dispossessed spirits of the fallen angels. So what do you mean by that? I mean everywhere you see an angel show up in the Bible, they show up in a body. You've never read anywhere in the Bible where an angel possessed someone. Never. And everywhere in the Bible where an angel shows up, everywhere he shows up as a man. Now, I know in the play, and that's fine, it's fine, I got no problems with it. In the play, we got female angels. I got no problem with that, but let's just be, we're just doctrinal dealings here this morning. There ain't no such thing as female angels. There ain't one in the Bible. Everywhere an angel shows up, they ain't babies, and they don't got wings. Seraphim's got wings, cherubim's got wings. But you won't find me an angel in the Bible, Genesis to Revelation, that has wings or is a female. Every angel in the Bible shows up as a male, and they have their own body. And where they show up, they look like a man and they got their own body. Go with me to Psalms. Now your wheels are turning here and that's good. Psalm 82. Psalm 82. Now I'm gonna bring this back around and tie it together here for you. Psalm 82. I believe that when God flooded this world in Noah's day, he Locked them up judged their body in some sort of way the angelic body They had to be able to reproduce procreate the body they appear in He judged that and locked it up That's what's locked up and it's reserved for judgment, but the spirits See when Jesus showed up dealing with that demoniac. He said why art thou come hither to torment us before the time He knew there was a judgment coming for them How'd he know that? because he had unlocked some of them up. The spirit's still loose, but the body's locked up, where they can't procreate with women anymore. But the spirit's still loose to be able to mess with people anyway. Psalm 82. Psalm 82, five. Yeah, this is a wild book. The wildest book in the whole world is a book you hold in your lap. See, everybody think, you know, that book's just a little old kind, little cuddly stories about this, that, and the third, you know. There's a whole lot more in it than that, friend. Psalm 82, 5. They know not, neither will they understand. They walk on in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are out of course. Hmm. God done some of that in Noah's day. I have said ye are what? Little g, sons of God. Hey, let me pause right here. Ain't it something that when the devil showed up to talk to Eve in the Garden of Eden, he told her this. He said, God doth know that when you eat of that fruit, you shall be as what? Isn't it something that Eve doesn't even bat an eye? Eve doesn't even say, I don't know what that is. What's that? She knew exactly what gods were. Them sons of gods are already walking around then. She didn't say, what's God? I know who God is, but what's little g God? If I'm gonna be that, I need to know what it is. No, she had already seen that in work, in action. I have said, this is God talking, verse six, you're gods. And all of you are children of the most high, sons of God. But ye shall die like men and fall like one of the princes. Arise, oh God, judge the earth, for thou shalt inherit the nations. So you say preacher, if the sons of God have been locked up in chains, them fallen angels, what are these devils and demons? I believe the bodies of the sons of God, God judged them and locked them up, but their spirits are still running around and they know there's a judgment coming. That's why they need a bot. Isn't it something that unclean spirits, devils and demons, they got to have a host. Remember, Jesus cast out the legion of devils out of the demoniac, and he said, don't just run us out into the deep. Let us go into the swine. They need a host to get in. Why? They don't got a body no more. They're Casper the friendly ghost. Go with me to Luke. Watch what Luke says about this. Go with me to Luke chapter 11. See, I mean, you just run through the Bible and just automatically saying stuff like, yeah, yeah, unclean spirits, devil, demon, that's just an angel. Well, I mean, I'm not saying it ain't, but there's more to it than just saying it's an angel. You never read in your Bible where just a regular old angel possessed anyone. By that same token, every angel, like I said, that shows up is a male. How in the world, how in the world, somebody answer me this, how in the world did Mary Magdalene, a little old woman, get seven grown men inside her? How in the world did that demoniac get the legion, over a thousand devils inside of him if they're all full grown men? Unless they are spirits. Got no body no more. Watch this some wild stuff right here. Luke 11 verse 24. Luke 11 24. When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places seeking rest. There is a connection with devil's demons and warm and wet places. There's a connection with it. A devil needs a body. You know what your body's made up of? Like, what, 80, 90% water? 98 degrees? Devils and demons, their final resting place, unclean spirits is a lake of fire. The most wicked places in this world are warm places near the water. That demoniac, he was running around by the water when Jesus come to him and he was naked. So everybody runs to the beach and gets naked. Oh, that book's way ahead, friend, that book's way ahead. The most wicked place in this world, a place like New Orleans, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, you know, Miami. The most wicked cities in this world where the most decadent filth is going on are near the water in warm places. Look at it globally, worldwide, Cairo, Shanghai, any area where else you want to look at, they're all Most demonic activity in the world, why is that? There's something connected with them devils and demons and that water and that drought, anyways. Said he walks in dry places, but he don't like it. Seeking rest and finding none, verse 24. He saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. See a house, the Bible talks about a body being a house, a temple, a tabernacle. He doesn't have his own anymore, because his own has been reserved in chains. Verse 25, and when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. Then goeth he and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there, and the last state of that man is worse than the first. These unclean spirits got to have a body. They got to have a host. They got to get in something. They can get in people or they can get in animals like them swine. And we could show you that over and over and over. And when these people's judgment come, the Bible said they're reserved till judgment, 2 Peter and Jude. And that demoniac said, why's thou come to torment us before the time? And there are other references where they cry the same thing. When that judgment comes, do you know who does the judging? It ain't the Lord. It's you. Go to 1 Corinthians with me if you're saved. It's you. First Corinthians chapter six. We're going to tie all this together and then we're going to move on. First Corinthians six. Verse two. First Corinthians six, two. Do you not know that the saints shall judge the world? That's that over there in Timothy where it said, if we suffer with him, we shall also reign with him. When he comes back to rule and reign on this earth, we're going to help rule the world with him. Hot dog. And if the world shall be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Watch verse 3, 1 Corinthians 6, 3. Know you not that we, the church, the redeemed, the saved, we shall judge what? How about that? Reserved unto the judgment, it said. We shall judge angels. How much more things that pertain to this life? Why? That's interesting. Why? Why do we get to judge those angels that sin? Because look what we're called. First John. Go to first John. Chapter three. First John three. Verse number one. Why in the world am I going to get to judge an angel? Preacher, what do I have to do with them? I ain't got nothing to do with them fallen angels, them sons of God. Got nothing to do with that. Oh yeah, you do. You're connected to them a little bit. There's a connection and they don't like you. There's a reason why devils and demons and unclean spirits try and hinder the work of God and they don't like the people of God. You know why? You got their title. I ain't blowin' smoke, I'm tellin' you Bible. 1 John 3, 1. Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us that we should be called the what? How about that? Therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear we shall be. We know when he shall appear we shall be like him, we shall seem as he is. Do you know why the Bible says what you and I have, Paul said this, what you and I have? Angels desire to look into it. Do you know why angels desire to look into it? Because now are we the sons of God and we can't lose it. They were the sons of God and they could. Tell you what, if I was one of them angels, I'd want to look into how can I get that back and not lose it. Too late, too late. And they marvel looking at you and I, mortals, not celestials, mortals, terrestrials, that God would send heaven's best. They know what Jesus is. When Jesus come, they said, we know thee who thou art, the Son of God most high. They know. And they say, why would God send that for them? die for them and then make them a son of God? We need to look into this. Yeah, I reckon they would want to look into that. There's a reason why the Bible said, you wrestle not against flesh and blood, but your fight is against principalities, powers, rulers, and darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places, and those ain't people. Because he just said, we wrestle not against flesh and blood. So the principalities, the powers, the rulers and darkness of this world, the spiritual wickedness in high places, they're all things you can't see. Devils demons unclean spirits the dispossessed spirits of fallen angels ie the sons of God Who you now have their title and they hate you? So don't be ignorant of this stuff Don't be ignorant that on Sunday morning you get up and all of hell busts loose at your house to keep you from going to church Why? There's unseen things trying to keep you from getting where God's at They hate you Don't be mind-boggled by the fact that there's a constant war over the minds and hearts of your children, child of God, over your own heart, over your marriage, over your home. Why? You have a real enemy that hates you from way back and wants to see you fall. I mean, wants to see you just wipe out so that they can do the accuser of the brethren and point a finger at you. Because you got something they wish they had. All right, back to our text. Now that was long and that was slightly deep, but that'll help you in your studies right there. Just chew on that, mull on that. Anyways, he said he spared not the angels of sin, but he cast them down to hell, delivered them into chains of darkness to be reserved unto judgment. 2 Peter 2.5, let's move on. And spared not the old world, but saved Noah, the eighth person. The eighth person, in other words, you say he's the eighth person on the face? No, he's, when you go back and count after Adam, there's eight generations and then Noah. From Seth, when you start with Seth, you go all the way up to Noah's daddy. What was that, Lamech, I think, Noah's daddy? Eight generations there, and then you got Noah. He's the eighth person, the eighth generation from Adam. And that's an interesting thing, because eight in your Bible is the number for new beginnings. So Noah's the eighth generation from Adam. There are eight people saved on the ark. And in chapter eight of the book of Genesis is when they get off the ark and start new. So there's all kind of eights connected with Noah. And eight is the number for new beginnings in your Bible. And it says this about old Noah. It said, they spared not the old world, but saved Noah, the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness. There's a reason why they didn't like Noah. He wasn't just a preacher. He preached you need to be righteous. You know, it's one thing to be a preacher. It's another thing to tell people they need to quit sinning and live for God. You start preaching, it's one thing to preach, but you start preaching righteousness? You know, Noah hollering, y'all better leave them sons of God alone. Y'all better quit your fornicating. Y'all better quit committing adultery. You better quit getting drunk, drinking liquor, and you better quit doing all that trash. And you better get right with God and come get on this ark. I mean, that's, you know, I don't want to hear that. Now, you know, if you just get up and just say, God loves everybody, and the Lord loves you, and you can just do what you want to do, and God will just love you right on into the ark. Aww. Kumbaya, Noah, kumbaya. Alleluia, alleluia. Noah stood up and started preaching that righteousness. They said, shut your mouth. We don't like you. He's a preacher of righteousness. And it said, God judged them. Verse five, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly. He keeps using that word ungodly. Use it again in verse six. We're not going to get much of verse 6 in, but I wanted to this morning. Verse 6, and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. Watch, man, this is, this is rough. Turn the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes. I mean, just burn them up to a crisp, man. Condemned them with an overthrow Making them an ensample or an example unto those that after should live ungodly in other words if you live in ungodly and You ain't walking with God and you ain't been born again Here's your example. You're gonna burn just like they did over in Sodom and Gomorrah. I Mean, I'm just that's what he said. He made them an example. We burn them to ashes. Here's your example You got fire and brimstone waiting on you, too. I It's the example here. Isn't it amazing too, this was something, we talked about them angels, we talked about them angels that sinned, and in 2 Peter 2 here, and then in Jude 6, both places that Jude and Peter mention these angels, immediately he goes into a discourse on Sodom and Gomorrah. There's some fishy stuff going on down there in Sodom and Gomorrah, and I'm not just talking about with people. Go to Jude, look at Jude. We'll run a few of these references to deal some more with these angels and we'll have to quit. Jude, back to Jude, and he said this, and you know what he said in verse six, we just read it, about these angels that kept not the first to stay. He has reserved them under darkness, judgment the great day. Watch verse seven. Even as, there's your word as again, we've preached and taught on a lot. Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, And the cities about them in like manner. Like manner of what? Like the angels. Giving themselves over to fornication. Watch this. Watch the wording. And going after strange flesh. Or set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Now we're not take time to go over there. But you know something fishy? about when them angels, Genesis 19, come to Lot in Sodom. You remember what happened over there? Them Sodomites gathered around Lot's house and said this about them angels. Bring them out to us that we may know them. And that's not know them like, hey, we want to shake their hand. How do you do? My name's Cody. What's your name? That's a biblical knowing, a sexual term. Them sodomites down there, that's something to do, brother. You say, what do you believe was happening in Sodom and Gomorrah before them angels showed up and locked them? I don't know. I know it said in Genesis 6 that after the flood even, that the sons of God was doing some messing around. Some extra ones that didn't mess around before the flood and get condemned and reserved in chains. There was some after the flood doing some stuff. Where was they doing that at? Maybe it was in Sodom and Gomorrah. But when them angels come, them sodomites real quick said, we want something to do with them angels. Why? Maybe there's already some angels hanging around in there doing something. I mean, he puts Sodom and Gomorrah and the angels back to back in two different passages and says, even as the angels, in like manner like the angels, Sodom and Gomorrah. And then they went after strange flesh, he calls it. And then he says that they tried to know them angels in Genesis 19. There's a lot more happening there than meets the eye. It almost implies this, that the two biggest, don't miss this, it almost implies this, that the two biggest judgments that God has ever done on this world up to this point, the two biggest that he's done, the flood, Wiped out an entire countryside Sodom and Gomorrah wasn't just a town It was a bunch of neighboring towns to is a you go back over and read is a big section of land It almost implies that the two Times that God up to this point has really just wiped out a spot or a population and sent some real judgment It had to do with angelic beings messing around sexually with people So As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days to come of the Son of Man. As it was in the days of Lot, so shall it be also in the days to come of the Son of Man. And according to Daniel and Daniel's prophecy, when Jesus comes back to rule and reign, it said there will be something mingling themselves with the seed of men. Go read it for yourself, it's in Daniel 2. It said someone mingles themselves with the seed of men, but it ain't men, it's something else. What are you saying preacher that which hath been shall be and there's nothing new under the Sun When the church leaves out of here that Bible said men's heart will fail them for fear for looking after those things which are coming upon the earth and the power of the heaven shall be shaken and over there in Revelation 9 God opens up the bottomless pit and let some things out and I believe in the tribulation, there'll be stuff going on just like there was in Sodom and Gomorrah and just like there was in Noah's day. And I'm not just talking about homosexuality even though we'll deal with that next week and that's bad enough. I'm talking about there's some strange flesh stuff going on to where there's going to be intermingling with terrestrial beings and celestial beings. But they ain't going to come from out there, they're going to come from down there. They're going to get let out. Something something gets let loose read over there about them angels have been reserved in Revelation. That's gonna get let out They say you say well, I thought it wasn't until the judgment. Well, that's what God's doing in Revelation. He's judging the world And you read over there in Revelation chapter 12, there's coming another big fall of a bunch of angels Revelation 12 Satan's gonna draw a third part more of the angelic host and come down that ain't even happened yet That ain't past that's future She said, what are you talking about preacher? I'm saying this world's crazy and it's going to get crazier and you better cling to God. Amen. I'll tell you this, it's like the story I heard one time about a Christian Two Christian couples were sitting around one night, fellowshipping at their house. You know, they were sitting around talking about all this deep stuff and hashing out all these conspiracy theories and devils and demons and unclean spirits and the underworld and just talking about all this wild stuff in the Bible. You know, if you enjoy the Bible, you enjoy that stuff every once in a while. You can't live there, but you enjoy it. And they talked about all this wild stuff and all their little kids was kind of just hanging around and listening and getting wild eyed and spooked out. And after they was done talking that night, mama walked by the little girl's room, and she was down by her bed, and she was praying, and she said, Lord, take care of mommy, and God, take care of daddy, and Lord, please take care of yourself, because if anything happens to you, we're in a mess. So, yeah, if anything happens to the Lord, friend, we're in a mess. Because there's a lot of stuff against you. A lot of stuff against you. So I'm glad the Lord's going to take care of Hisself. You ain't got to worry about Him. He's going to be alright. And we ain't got to it yet, but it says later on in the text, the Lord knows how to reserve the godly. Even in the midst of a mess. He knows how to save the Noah's out and save the lots out He knows how to keep us from the danger that's coming. So don't be discouraged. God's got you God's got you. All right, Lord. We love you We thank you for your word Lord. Your word is an amazing book. Nothing like this book God I I've never got tired of reading it studying it because it just Lord I've read so many different books in my life and there's none like this one It's God's book It's a pure book. It's a holy book, spiritual book. Lord, you said this book deals into the joints and the marrow, and it's a discerner of the thoughts and the intents of the heart. Thank you for it. We love it. God, help your people now this morning. Save some sinner this morning for Jesus' sake. Deliver them from their wrath to come, and we'll give you the glory. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. All right, you're dismissed.
