I see some college students here tonight. I see some high school folks here tonight and all of you. I want you to tune in tonight. I will tell you, I have more material probably than I can preach and teach. And if you notice me, I've done a lot of typing and I've had some people help me and Josh has helped me with some stuff, some PowerPoints. I will give you this outline next week. I meant to give it to you tonight, but I've been covered up. this week, so go to Genesis chapter number one. We are in the series in the book of Genesis. Now, Josh, we can label this like Genesis, Genesis first sermon, second sermon, third sermon, fourth sermon, and if you wanna put the title of the week, you can do that too, okay? All right, Genesis chapter number one, and let's look at verses one through five. I'll read these. Then I'm gonna make a few introductory statements and then just get into all of this tonight. And I'm gonna be straight now. I'm gonna be straight from the word of God. And I may, there are gonna be some liberal scientists. And by the way, there's some real scientists that believe exactly what I'm preaching. Just as smart as the liberal scientists. And they out-debate them, by the way. Amen. I went to three evolution versus creation debates, and it wasn't even a contest. They got wiped out, because they just cannot defend their position if you know what you're trying to do and know the Word of God. Amen. Good preaching, Reverend. In the beginning, God, that was last week's sermon, created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void. And darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, let there be light. And there was light. And God saw the light that it was good. And God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light day. And the darkness he called night. And the evening, boy, this important phrase that is mentioned 10 times. Listen, and the evening and the morning were the first day. Now, there is four unscriptural theories concerning creation. Now, I've got a slide on the first one, but I'm not gonna use that slide. I'm gonna use the second slide, but I do want you to put that up. That's first slide up just quickly. Number one, we'll be talking about the Genesis record versus the theory of evolution. Now, I have a chart. I had a chart. Bring that chart up. Okay, I brought that chart, I'm gonna give it to you next week. Then go to the second chart, here's where I wanna spend a little bit of time. Then there's a second theory, because I'm gonna get into evolution a lot as I preach tonight, I'll cover that instead of the first chart. Then second theory is this, the day age theory. How many's heard of that? Here's what it is, it's the sixth day of creation, But those liberal, skeptic, atheistic scientists believe those days are ages, geological ages. I'm gonna prove that's wrong tonight. Then secondly, or thirdly, there's the revelation theory. Now they say, we agree, that those days were 24 hours there in Genesis, but that wasn't talking about the 26 actual creative days of creation. Actually, that was just talking about days in the life of Moses. Absolutely crazy. But here's the one that I want you to listen to. It's one that has been dubbed, and there's folks in this church that believe it. Okay, and I'm not preaching against them tonight. I don't, I think they're in error, but I, you know, it's not going to send nobody to hell. You can believe that if you want to. I mean, and it's called the gap theory. I want to say this to you tonight. When I first got saved and I was a Christian for about five years, I believed in the gap theory. So I'm not speaking from a thing I've never believed the gap theory. I believed it, then I had to admit that I was wrong. And then I believed the Genesis record of creation. But because, and I want all y'all to understand what I mean by the gap theory in a moment, is this, between Genesis 1 and 1 and 1-2, the gap theorists believe Satan fell, Satan fell there, he didn't fall in the garden. They say he fell there. And it calls, and by the way, they believe in a pre-endemic race. And they believe those bodies of that pre-endemic race are the demons today. That's what they believe. And I wanna say this to you. That's so far-fetched. Cause my Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15, 45, that Adam was called the first man. And Eve, her name means the mother of all living. And by the way, you gotta, and I can prove, if you go read, I believe it's Ezekiel 26, I can prove that Satan fell in the garden, and he was in perfection in the Bible said, in the garden of God, and he fell. He did not follow between Genesis 1.1 and 1.2, he fell in the garden. That's enough to upend that whole teaching, but I'll, let me tell you what they believe and what the Bible says. And they use verses. First of all, their argument is the verb in Genesis 1, 2, it says, and the earth was without form. They said it should be translated became. Wait a minute. So their premise is to start off changing the Bible right off. but I want to give you the facts. The argument against that fact is this, the Hebrew word, hayatha, is almost always translated was, and is translated was 258 out of the 264 times in the Pentateuch. Number two, that word without form and void, they say that the fall of Satan happened, and judgment happened, and they said always indicates judgment. I want you to know this, these words can, and many times, and most of the times, refer to lifelessness and empty space. Thirdly, they say, there is a difference between the word created, bera, and the word made. Now, listen to this. Are y'all with me? Look at your Bible with me. Just go to some, look at some verses. I wanna show you something. Look at verse number 15. When you get there, say amen. I believe verse 15. Let me make sure I'm right. I messed up. No, verse 16. And God made two lights. And man, where am I? I'm messing up here. I'm sorry. And God made two lives. Now, in verse 15, he said he made it. In verse 21, look at verse 21. And by the way, look at verse 21. And God created great whales. Now, one place he said he made it, and one place he said he created. Both the same. Y'all with me? And again, he says the same thing. Let us make man in our image. And then verse 27 says, God created man in his own image. Are y'all with me? Now, let me say, give you something interesting. Do y'all, anybody in here knows who was the founders of the gap theory? Who were the ones that brought it up? Anybody here know? Well, let me tell you. First of all, I want to tell you something interesting. The theory of evolution, you know, was by Charles Darwin. He wrote his book, Alison, in 1859, The Origin of the Species. That's his book. And by the way, he said, not me, that at the end of his life, when he got saved, he said, I reject and I regret I threw it out as a theory and men gobbled it up as a fact. But the two men that believed in the gap theory that made it famous for today is a man named Clarence Larkin, who I respect and who is smart. And the other one is C.I. Scofield, the writer of the Scofield Bible. Listen to this, this is interesting. Larkin, guess when he was born? 1850. and he died in 1924. Guess when C.I. Scofield was born? 1843, and he died in 1921. Guess what? These two Christian men got startled by the teaching of Darwin, so they came up with a theory to try to explain millions of years, billions of years, this, that, and everything else. And I want you to know something. We don't have to have a gap theory. We've got in the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. Now, let me go on, let me go on. By the way, in Genesis 1-2, it said the word darkness. They say it carries judgment. Well, the word darkness means simply the absence of light. And at times it's spoken as even good. Here's the big one. Here's the big, look at Genesis 1-28. This is the big one. And I want to give it to you. Are y'all in Genesis 1, 28? Somebody say amen. And God blessed him and God said unto them, be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth. Now here's what they say. They say replenish shows a recreation of the original creation and it indicates the world was once filled and now they're refilled. But I want to give you, oh listen, that word replenish in the Hebrew word male, M-A-L-E, it always means to fill or to be filled. Amen, Allison, you're nodding your head. I think you're on my wavelength tonight. And by the way, that's what we are, is replenishing or filling in this earth since Adam. Somebody help me. And by the way, they use a verse. One of their key verses is Jeremiah 4, 23. And this verse is quoted in context of divine judgment tied to Genesis 1, 2. But this verse has nothing to do with Genesis. It has similar words, but what it's talking about is judgment that comes on the land of Egypt. So here's the problem. We do not have to compromise scripture and come up with our own theory to battle the theory of evolution where there's enough fact in the Bible to do away with evolution and you believe the truth. Amen anyhow. Now, y'all with me? As I say it. Charles Darwin wrote his famous book in 1859. I'm gonna give y'all some good stuff tonight. I mean that, I don't know if I can, but I'm gonna try. Now, if I depend a little on notes, you'll understand why, because I'm gonna give you some quotes and some facts. And I can't remember all of them, okay? but he wrote the book, Origin of the Species. And I want you to know something. I am concerned about when, where we come from, but I'm more concerned, Lois, about the destiny of the species. If the word of God is true, there is a destiny that you're gonna go to, a heaven or hell. And evolution is biased against God. It's anti-God and anti-Christ. Somebody help me. And I wanna say this to you. I'm gonna teach you tonight, I believe this very clearly, that God created this world in six days. I believe it. Now, here's the outline. If you wanna note it down, I promise I'll, Copy it for you. Let's look at the first point. Number one tonight, I wanna preach on this. A specific definition of a day. Let's look at that. How about that? I said, hey Lois, what did I say? God created the world in six 24 hour days or six days, right? I believe that. Now, let's talk about the definition of a day. And boy, when I started studying this, did that open up a can of worms. In verse number five, notice this, it says the evening and the morning was called what? First day. In verse eight, it said the evening and the morning was called the second day. Verse 13 said the evening and the morning were called what? The third day. That's repeated six times there. And it happened six times. The evening and the morning was the first day, second day, third day, fourth day, fifth day, and sixth day. And on the seventh day, God rested. Now, let's delve into that a little deeper, if we might. Now, what is the meaning of these days? because the word day is used in the Bible in many ways. By the way, it's mentioned, Zach, 1,400 times in the Bible. And it's translated 44 different ways in your King James Bible, the word day. So we'll know. You say, well, preacher, is that talking about a 24-hour day? Well, we'll talk about that. Hey, Tim, you're a good guy on numbers. Do you know actually, here's what it is. It's actually 23 hours and 56 minutes and four seconds. Go check pre-trial on that. But we call it 24 hour day. But it's actually 23 hours, 56 minutes and four seconds. Now, in Genesis 1-5, it said, then God called the light day and the darkness night. The word day, other than the 24 hour day, we're talking about the evening and the morning being day. Now, here's an interesting verse. Look, Isaiah 4 once says this, and in that day, boy, y'all like this, listen to this, you single men might like this. In that day, seven women shall take hold of one man saying, we shall eat our own bread and wear our own apparel, only let us be called by thy name. How you like that one? That's a wild verse, isn't it? Here's what it says, is this. Fellas, there's coming a day when seven women will come after you and they want to have their own way, but they want to use your name. Now, some of you men like to have seven women after you. You really don't. Chapter number two of Genesis and four says this, these are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created in the day that the Lord God had made them. So what was he meaning there? The day God created, the six days. The Bible even teaches how many has ever heard the phrase the day of the Lord? That's not talking about a creative day, it's talking about the day the Lord Jesus comes back after us. Now, let me move. You all okay? I'm gonna give you some good stuff tonight if I can get to it. Now, let me give you three things about this definition of a day. Number one, the normal usage of that word is a 24-hour day. Now, I was nitpicking and giving you an actual number, but it's a 24-hour day. And that's, the Bible said the evening and the morning were the second day. The evening and the morning were the third day. In plain language, it's talking about one 24-hour day, not a geological age of a billion years. The different, now listen to this, listen to this. Now, Sheldon, I see you back there. You'll probably hear this in Marshall. I want you to listen to this. This is pretty good stuff I'm gonna give you next. The difficulty of geological ages. Now, we have people believe in these geological ages, right? Let me give you some difficulty. The third thing is these geological ages. Now, listen carefully. If you have on the third day, plant life created, right? And it was. And then on the fourth day, Lois, sun was created. But if you believe in geological days, here's what you believe, Josh. Plants were created, but the sun wasn't created for another 100 million years. So how's the plants gonna survive without the sun? Somebody help me here. Adam, I know you're a doctor. Are you tuning in tonight? I'm trying to get some good stuff here tonight. Let me go a little further with this thought. So, if you make the geological state, you've got to have hundreds of thousands of years, millions of years with plant life and no sunlight. You see the problem? The sun gives energy and life to the plants, and all the plants operate by a process that we call photosynthesis, which literally means put together with light. Mm, and then you find out that on the fifth day, the sun's not made, you see, until the fourth day. Then on the fifth day, you have animal life. Are y'all listening? Now these geological years or ages, you have hundreds of thousands of years of plant life and no sunlight, and finally you have animal life. And everybody knows that animal life and plant life are independent. They need each other. God have mercy. I think I'm preaching good. Y'all with me? Now then, the third reason I believe, give you a definition, is the language of rest of the Bible. Exodus 20 and verse 11 says this. Are you with me? In six days, the Lord made heaven and earth and the sea and all that is in them and rested on the seventh day. Six literal days. Now it said God rested on the Sabbath day. Genesis 2, 2. You know what, Adam, have you heard of this? Have you heard of this? The Sabbath age? Have you heard that term Sabbath age? You never heard that term? They have the geological ages, then they got the Sabbath age. Hello? Now the Sabbath is from six o'clock Friday evening to six o'clock Saturday evening. Hello? Now let me go. Let me go do a second thing. Everybody okay? This next point, next point I really want you to listen to. Y'all got y'alls antenna up? How many of you got your antenna up? Y'all all right? You might want to go back and listen to this because it's... It takes that. Then I want you to talk about number two, a supernatural demonstration of the days. Not only a definition of the days, but a supernatural demonstration of the days. Let's move on and talk about the meaning and the supernatural demonstration of the days. See, I believe God created the heaven and the earth in six days and he'd done it through a miracle. Now, I'm slowing down. Can I read a little bit? Is that okay? You say, Brother Smith, doesn't that bring conflict with science? No. True science and true Bible never conflict. Let me say it again. True science and true Bible never conflicts. See, the Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant word of God. And God made two books. He made the book, God's Bible, and he made the book of nature. See, day unto day are their speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge. There's books and there're books. There're sermons and there're stones. You know what 1 Timothy 6.20 says? It talks about science falsely called. There's true science. And you know, a lot of people think, well, scientists don't believe like you believe. You're wrong, and I'll show you that in a minute. You're wrong. There's scientists that actually do believe what we believe. I want y'all to know that. Now, I got this, and this is a quote. Can I give you a quote? I might as well just preach it all tonight, Sean. We don't check the Bible by science. We do not check the Bible by science. We check science by the Bible. Oh no, no, you didn't get it. We don't check the Bible by science. We check science with the Bible. And if science doesn't match up with the Bible, then it's false science. As first Timothy 6.20 said, hmm. And you need to understand this thing called evolution just doesn't work. That's why I reject it. It doesn't work. Amen. Are y'all with me? In Darwin's book on the origin of species in 523, I think that's the page, he said, analogy would lead me to the belief that animals and plants, all of them now are descended from the same prototype. All organisms started from a common origin and from low intermediate forms, both animals and plants have been developed. That's what he said. You know, we got a little microorganism, a little scum. We had a big blow up called the big bang. I want y'all to know something. I don't want to be vicious tonight, but it takes me more faith to believe in evolution than it does the Bible. That's the craziest thing I ever said. If you really study it. Now, let me give you three reasons I don't believe in evolution. Number one, I don't believe it just logically. Amen? Now, I want y'all to know something. Don't think just Baptist preachers don't believe in evolution. Scientists don't believe it. And by the way, you can jump on one side or the other, but let me quote a couple of scientists. Dr. Newton Telmesen, who is a physiologist for the Atomic Energy Commission said this, scientists who go about teaching evolution as a fact of life are con men. And the story they are telling may be the greatest hoax ever. In explaining evolution, we do not have one iota of fact. That's what that prominent sign. Let me quote somebody else. Dr. Etheridge of the British Museum. Listen to this. Nine-tenths of the talk of evolution is sheer nonsense. It's founded as an observation wholly unsupported by fact. The museum is full of proofs of utterly false falsicity of their view, the evolutions. I'm talking now about that museum, and then Sir Ambrose Fleming says this, who was the president of the Philosophical Society of Great Britain, explained and said, the evolution theory is purely the product of imagination. And we will not bore you by many, many quotes Not because we're religious men, because we have the truth. Now, y'all, how many still with me? Y'all ain't, don't lose me, because this is a good part right now. Now, I'm gonna slow, you see, you're, you're, you're, you're trying to lost, I can't remember all this, I'm not Houdini, but first of all, Adam, let's think about this. Evolutionists don't have any explanation for the origin of life. Think about it. Let me think about it. They have no explanation at all. Here's what they think, it just happened. Now they have a lot of theories and they have a lot of guesses. I mean, one of them said that a germ hitched like a meter. Am I right, Adam? Nod at me if I'm telling the truth, Adam. A germ is like a meteor. You can't make this up. And the meteor came from outer space somewhere. You say, how'd it get to the earth? Well, the germ of life on the meteor came. And when the meteor struck the earth, somehow the life is deposited on the earth. And now the germ of life piggybacking on a meteor We get us. Let God be true in every man and a liar. Let me go on. Now listen to this. How many has heard of MIT in Massachusetts? Come on, raise your hand if you've heard of it. Big time, big time, big time. Let me tell you what a professor from MIT said. Here's what he said. He said, I'm talking, we're getting high up. Let me tell you what he suggested with a straight face. Oh, I won't tell you. And he wasn't trying to be funny. He suggested that life may have come to the earth by a prehistoric space traveler from another galaxy or another dimension or some other part of the solar system, landed on the earth, lived here a while, went away and left his garbage behind. Now seriously, this is MIT. Now what he means is by the garbage or refuse that was left behind and the germs of life blossom from that garbage and here you are. And we got people in our ranks that don't understand the truth. Let me go on. Let me give you a second reason. Adam, help me here. You're with me. How many of y'all still with me? Second reason I don't believe it is the fixity of the species. Now, back in Genesis 1 verse 11, look in your Bible. It said, God said, let the earth bring forth grass, right? The herb yielding seed and the fruit tree yielding, what's it say? Fruit after what? And that's repeated 10 times after it's kind. Now here's what the evolutionists believe. They believe this. One thing of one kind would become another kind, which would have to be another. Now, let me give you all an example. A worm would become a fish, a fish would become an amphibian, an amphibian would become a reptile, a reptile would become a bird, a bird would become a mammal, and a mammal would become a man. God have mercy. Now, I want y'all to know something. Adam, do y'all, you know the difference. I wanna see if you know. There's a difference between mutation and transmutation. I believe in mutation, but I don't believe in transmutation. What I mean by that is I can't get you from a fish. Hey, Shalyn, I can't get you from a mule, right? That's not your kind. That's what the Bible said. Good preaching, Reverend. And by the way, the people always are talking about the missing link. You know that? There ain't a missing link. There's a missing chain. The whole thing's a mess. Boy, that's good preaching. Number three, evolution has no answer for the non-physical qualities in man's life. Amen. Listen to me, listen to me. What I mean by that, for example, they believe in the survival of the fittest. Where did music come from, Lois? Did it evolve or did somebody Invented, hello? And love for music. See, remember that evolutionists believe that it all started with nothing. By the way, nothing times nobody equals everything. That's what they say. Hold on a minute. Can you really believe that? I wish I had another 40 minutes, I need it bad. Now, second thing I wanna say to you, I don't believe in evolution for theological reasons. Amen? By the way, H.G. Wells, y'all know him. What he said, if all the animals and man evolved, then there was no first parents, Then there was no Adam and no Eve, no paradise. That means there was no Garden of Eden and no fall. Nobody disobeyed God. Hello? But that ain't the way it happened. See, I want y'all to know there was a fall, man. And we're in the mess with today is because sin. Y'all with me? By the way, you just gotta choose between the two. You can't say, oh, but I'm a theistic evolutionist. Here's what I believe. I believe God caused the bang and then everything evolved. You're either an evolutionist or creationist and there ain't no in between. Good preaching. And by the way, I don't believe in evolution for moral reasons. I need to tell y'all this. I could say a lot more, but I wanna try to get most of this done. I think evolution is morally wrong. Now, let me give you a name or two. By the way, evolution is nothing but a philosophical idea. That's what it is. Have any of y'all, and I may not pronounce this right, so I'll spell it, N-I-E-T-Z-S-C-H-E, Nietzsche, that's a German. He responded to evolution, took it to Nazi Germany, and he is the founder of Nazism. There's another man who loved and embraced evolution from Russia. You know him. His name is Karl Marx, the father of communism, who done unspeakable atrocities. Now you see, now you say, preach this to me. I believe men sprang from animals. You know why people believe men sprang from animals? Because they have no morality. That's why our society is turning into a bunch of animals. They act like animals. Am I preaching? People act like animals, sexual idiots. Why? Because they're evolutionists. And there's no moral code. They're anti-Christ and anti-God. You say, but I went to school. I went to biology class. Well, I did too. But I went to Bible class and I studied the word of God. And I also studied scientists who believe in creationism, such as Henry Morse and Ken Ham and others. And by the way, they're bringing men. Good preaching, Reverend. Then lastly, there's a message in those days or a decoration of those days. By the way, how many of y'all believe if he may have been Christ, he's what? new creature. I make all things new. He said, in the spirit of God, let's look at the creation, moved upon the waters, on the darkness, the space. That's the way we were, empty, lost, undone. And that spirit of God moved upon the waters. And God said, let there be light. And there was light, but hold a minute. Can I ask y'all a question? Rich, this is good preaching even if I'm doing it. What was that light? He said, and let there be light. Sister, he didn't make the sun, the moon to the fourth day. One day we're going to go to heaven. What does the Bible say? And the land shall be the light of thereof. Let me give you an illustration. Dear God, Lord, I'm getting happy. When Jesus was on the cross from the third hour to the ninth hour, at 12 o'clock noon, it got dark. You know why it got dark? It's not because the sun didn't shine, it's because God, who is the light, turned his back on his son and everything become black. One day I was in blackness and darkness and void and the spirit of God moved upon my waters and convicted me of my sin and I got saved by the grace of God and God turned the light on. Phew. Oh, oh, happy day. I'm about filled with the Holy Ghost right now. Listen to me. You say, I don't agree with everything you said tonight. Well, you better do some more studying. I'm not calling you ignorant, but the Bible does say they ignorantly, by their ignorance, they turn from God. See, just go back to Romans 1. They don't want to retain the knowledge of God, so they change them to vain things, such as creeping things. Could you think that a little microorganism is where you came from? And it became a tadpole, and then it become a fish, then a bird, And now here you are. You don't listen to me. Shaylin, you're gonna be taught that in college. And by the way, they're active down there. And every one of these secular colleges are active in evolution. Amen. You know where your daughter went to school? One of the number ones colleges in West Virginia for fight and creationism. I went to a debate there. I want you to know something. Do you believe in God? By faith, I know the worlds were created by the Word of God. And I got evidence of it. Just look around. Look at yourself, Rich. You're fearfully and wonderfully made. One trillion cells are in your body. Who put them there? God did. Well, everybody okay? Did I do all right? By the way, this is a harsh sermon I'll preach of the whole series. So, that do, okay? All right, stand with me. Let me see some, you may not go, stand with me. How many of you know you're saved for sure? Raise your hand. Hold them up high. Let me see. Okay, if you don't know you're saved, God created you in his image, but you wanna be saved, will you raise your hand and say, pray for me? I need to be saved. All right, let's dismiss. I love y'all. I have been studying on this series for months. Will y'all pray for me? Some of you probably say, he needs prayer. I do. Father, we love you. Our Lord, there's a lot more I wanted to say. Time wouldn't let me. I hope I got enough out to give enough understanding that Lord, You spoke it all into existence. See, nobody can create anything but you. But as you do it through a miracle. Now bless our people, Isaiah. Leave and help them be careful. In Jesus' name, amen. God bless you.
