And 1 Samuel chapter number 10, we'll start reading if you'll stand together with me. The Bible said in verse 1, Then Samuel took a vial of oil and poured it upon his head and kissed him and said, Is it not because the Lord hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance? We're talking, no doubt, about Saul. Saul. Everybody can remember something bad about Saul. I can. I could give you, I could give you maybe a couple of hours of stuff that's negative, so to speak, about Saul. But can I ask you this? Why, why, why focus on the negative? We're negative people. All you got to do is ask somebody how they're doing, and they're alive, and they're walking, and they're eating, but they're doing so bad. Negative. Negative. I like the positives. But then I just like, I like positive notes, don't you? Sister Tiffany was up here a little bit discouraged this morning, a little bit, just a little bit. But she was doing a great job on the organ. I think it's set for organ stage now. And I didn't know Jaleel's up here. Good to see him up here on the platform. And I said, did your game win yesterday? And he said, they did. I said, who is your team? He said, the Gators. And when he said that, I heard somebody go, grr. I said, you see what you've just done to her? No, I'm kidding. She didn't do that. She does really good. I appreciate everything that everybody does. You know what I really appreciate this one? You smiling. That ain't negative. Amen. Brother Leo's sister passed away the night before last, I believe it was. yesterday morning. And be real hard if she wasn't a Christian and she was. Be real hard to say good things about that. But on a good note. As Brother Ray said, she was heaven bound with a hammer down. And that's a positive. Amen? Positive. The Bible says that The Lord hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance. Verse 2, When thou art departed from me today, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel's sepulcher in the border of Benjamin at Zelzal. And they will say unto thee, The assets which thou wentest to seek are found, and, lo, thy father hath left the care of the assets, and sorroweth for you, saying, What shall I do for my son? Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids, another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine. And they will salute thee, and give thee two loaves of bread, which thou shalt receive of their hands. After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines, and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high places, with a psaltery and a tabret, and a pipe and a heart before them, and they shall prophesy. And the Spirit of the Lord will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man. And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as occasion serve thee, For God is with thee. Father, I pray this morning that you'd help us touch our hearts, Lord. Give us what you'd have us to have. Bless these good folks that's turned out this morning. Lord, there may be some that would like to be here and they're not able. God, they're maybe homesick or going through something or maybe just live a long way from here. They'd like to be here, but God, they've used technology to be with us through watching online. And I thank you, Lord, for them. I ask you to have your way now. Bless everything that's said, everything that's done. May it glorify the Lamb of God. In Jesus' name, I do pray. Amen and amen. You can be seated. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. just for being here. 1 Samuel chapter 10. Saul has got a job to do. And the job that Saul has is much more intense than he starts out thinking it is. Have you ever started a job before and got on that job and you thought, well, I wasn't expecting all this. I didn't know they wanted expecting this out of me. A lot of times we feel like we're raising our children in an hour in a society to make them think that they're worth a whole lot more than what they really are. I'm talking about in the workforce. Now in our hearts, they're worth more than silver and gold. But I think it's real fair, mom and dad, that you remind them that you ain't all that. They've been easily replaced. There's somebody else that's studying to take their job as we speak. Brother David just got a new job here a while back, and I'm thankful for it because he's married to my daughter, and I want him to take good care of her and their babies. Amen. And he does, and I'm thankful. But while he's at work, somebody else is at school studying. Thinking, how can I get Dave's job? I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll just wait for him to mess up. And I'll, I mean, he'll, he'll just call in sick one day when he's not really sick and the boss man will see him laying out somewhere. Boy got my quiet right there, didn't he? I know you wouldn't do nothing like that, for sure. Sure to goodness. Sure to goodness. Is Rick Velez watching this morning? They told me they watching. Are they watching? I had to say to them, I hadn't either. I hadn't either. I'm watching to see if they're watching. And then I'm watching to see if you're watching. And we're all watching each other to see if we're watching each other. Amen. Samuel. Samuel has received orders from the Lord. And the orders that he's received involve Saul. Saul has the job to do now because Israel wanted a king. Now, what Israel didn't know is how a king responds to different circumstances. All they've heard is other countries say, we love our king. Boy, we got a good king. We got one of the best. And I'm telling you, if anybody in our country gets hungry, our king makes sure he's fed. It was over in Africa, in Kenya. They was having one year, was over there, they was getting ready for the election. I don't know if you remember that or not, getting ready for the election. And they were talking about, there was one man running for office. They said he was good. Another man running for office, they said he was a crook. Sound familiar? Well, I don't know how it turned out. I don't know how it turned out, but I know this. They're probably going to end up having greater liberties than what we have. They do know this. I was telling him, I said, Brother Joseph, let me ask you something. Now, listen, let me go on record. If you need to write this in your Bible and put my name beside it, it's OK to do this. It's OK to do this. I'm for the police. I do not want to defund the police. That don't mean take their joy away. That means that there ain't going to be no money to pay them with. And out of a crowd this size, they're going to be somebody, if you hadn't already, you're going to have to call them because you're going to need them. You're going to need them. And I might not like it if they're hiding in the bushes waiting to give me a ticket. But I like it real good if somebody broke in my house and stole all my stuff and I got to call them and they can track them down. I appreciate that. I asked Brother Joseph, I said, Brother, I saw a video over here back several months back where a police officer was standing there and a woman was standing in his face. I mean just, just, I don't know if she was swearing or, but it looked like she's really yelling because her mouth's open really wide. And only just a couple of inches from his face, I said, in Kenya, how would they handle that? He says, oh my. He said, she'd have got a bullet in the face. No questions asked. This country may have wanted something, but they've got it now. And you say, what do you think I ought to do, Brother Edward? I think you ought to keep reading your Bible. I think you ought to keep praying. I think you ought to keep coming to church. I think you ought to tell your neighbors that they need to keep reading the Bible. That they need to keep praying. They need to keep coming to church. Don't quit. Don't quit. Don't quit. Keep on serving God. Quit looking for problems. Quit looking for flaws. Quit looking for reasons. There may be over just the county of Camden County, I wonder how many people this morning woke up looking for a reason not to go to church. But it's not good enough reason to miss work. I'm going to let y'all think over that. Get me a drink of water. And y'all think over it. And get with me a little bit, because it probably ain't getting any better than what's that right now. Amen. Amen. Thank you, Brother Carl. Amen. Speaking of which, our cousin Carl Davis went home from the hospital yesterday. Wasn't that right? Yesterday he went home? So I appreciate everybody praying for him. And if you know anybody else that's sick, I appreciate you praying for them, too. Amen. Amen. And so let's go back. Let's go back to the scripture. Samuel has given Saul direction concerning, number one, Saul's personal self. Some requirements that is expected of him from God. That number one, he must be anointed. I've met a lot of people. I've met a lot of people that they wanted to be Christians. They wanted to be a preacher. They wanted to be on fire for God. But they literally do love the world more than they love God. In the Old Testament, during that regime, they would anoint a man of God. They'd pour that oil over his head, if it was a prophet of the lineage of Aaron, they would pour that oil until that oil would run down through their beards. And a lot of people say, well, I wouldn't want nobody doing me like that. You're no different than anybody else, because a lot of people don't want to go through what a real suffering Christian would go through. A real marked Christian, a real identified Christian would go through But can I say this? The Lord has set Saul aside for this. And I know, I know, don't get way ahead of me on this, because if you get way ahead of me, you'll see nothing but Saul in his jealousy. You'll see Saul in his anger. Saul in his bitterness towards David. Saul in his lack of desire to want to live. Saul, I believe this with all my heart, Brother Glenn, I believe in the beginning Saul was excited about serving God. And Brother Gary, in the beginning, they didn't nobody tie him up and stand him there. They didn't nobody say, you better serve God or we're fixing to kill you. They didn't nobody put stipulations about if you don't serve the Lord like we're telling you now, I'm telling you, we're going to go to your house and we're going to take your wife captive and your children captive and hold them ransom. And no, no. I believe he started out with a desire in his heart to want to do right. Doesn't that sound kind of like us? We started out. Hey, how many of us are here this morning? You started out running wide open for the Lord. started out doing everything you could. Hey, listen to me, you started out serving God with all your heart. You wanted to hide the word in your heart that you might not stand against the Lord. You started out supporting missionaries and having a part of all of that, everything, that ministry. And slowly, surely but slowly, the devil has taken one item after another away from us. And here we are sometimes in this hour, in this day, in this time that we're living in. And the missionaries that you used to support don't get no help no more. Thank God for folk that are still supporting them, amen. Thank God for people that have been laying by the wayside. And I understand there's sometimes that they might do something. They may have come off the field, Brother Gary. I know some that have come off the field, and I let people know when a missionary comes off the field. They're not doing that no more. You need to get another missionary to support another one. The Bible says whenever that Samuel has told him, he said, the Lord hath anointed thee to be captain over His inheritance. Can I tell you something? That's exactly what they wanted. Back over in chapter number 8, in verse number 20, the Bible says this, verse 19 says, Nevertheless, for people refused to obey the voice of Samuel. And they said, Nay, but we will have a king over us, that we also may be like all the nations, and that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles. In the life of a Christian, there's always going to be battles. That don't mean that I'm supposed to fight you. That don't mean that you're supposed to fight me. That means that the devil's going to be getting on our backs. Somebody say amen right there. That means that there's always, every day, there's going to be a storm. There's going to be a situation. Listen, we're living in an hour when the devil does not mind laying dormant. He don't mind laying there for a week, a month, a year, two years, three years, whatever it takes. Hey, can I say this? We're talking to Brother Ruby, Brother Rick and Sister Ruby this week and talking about Eliana. And boy, we had such a good time visiting with them and everything. It was a wonderful time of fellowship. And I told Eliana, she's talking about me praying for her that God would send her a good man. I said, maybe it'd be good just to wait, just wait a little while. And people that are kind of hasty in that area, sometimes they get what they didn't ask for. And I said, listen, I said, that fella, that fella might just, that you think is so handsome, that you think is so wise, that you think is so number one, he might be just a snake. Amen. He might be a wolf in sheep's clothing, and he might be just laying there waiting years after years to really pour his heart out to be what you didn't think he was. I said, it'd be better for you to wait and marry a man when you're older. I said, hey, there's a benefit to that. I know most girls don't want to wait past. If they wait past 23 or 24, they're wanting to wear a shirt that says I'm an old maid. Am I right? And I said, at least if you wait until you're older, you have the option then of marrying an older man or a younger man. But if you're still real young, you will marry only older. And he don't think he's bossy. Sometimes. I didn't mean to get into all that. I don't know why I did. Amen. Let's go back to Samuel and Saul. Samuel has given Saul direction. Do you know most of the Christians in the day and hour we live in, they refuse? They refuse. They refuse to be instructed. They refuse to receive help. I've heard this brother Bradley more times than I could ever remember. people say, that might work down at your house. That might work for you. But what Samuel is giving Saul would work for Saul because God gave it to Samuel. And I know sometimes we think, well, Brother Edward, you're preaching against stuff or for stuff that I've already done. You know, listen, listen, let me say something. I'm going to throw this up there. because I don't want nobody to misunderstand me on my stance on some things. I mentioned a few weeks back one morning I just so happened to mention some tattoos. Do you know how hard it is in the hour we live in not to mention tattoos? I wouldn't be surprised if somebody had a baby in this hour we lived in that they didn't name them Tattoo. I wouldn't be surprised. I don't have none. I value a dollar a lot more than that. Just my thoughts. I value the scripture more than that. I know you say, well, I don't see it like that. See, that's what we're talking about before we go. But one thing I do know that whatever you do before your children They're going to do the same and more than what you did. I've seen a guy on TV one day that he had tattoos wanting to be the Leopard Man. Oh my goodness. How many spots all over his face and then had his teeth filed so that they were sharp on the corners. I don't know if that's Leopard Man or Dracula hiding up under a knitted If you have that stuff, you can't do nothing about it. The reason the preacher preaches on stuff like that, that does not mark you as a Christian, is so that you'll not do more of it. You used to be a thief. But Darnell, I'm going to get somebody to lead you up here and you sit here on the platform and help me. Because it looks like I'm all alone this morning. You used to be a thief. And you may still be one if you're stealing from God in your tithes and offerings. But you used to be a thief. Now I'm not preaching at you because you was a thief. I'm just preaching to you so that you'll quit stealing. You used to be a dope head. We might as well just pour it all out there this morning, haven't we? I woke up feeling kind of gloomy, looked outside, and it was raining, and man, just, you know, you know, I talked to Brother Joe, I said, I said, how you feeling this morning? He said, kind of blah. I said, me too, brother. You used to be a dope head, or if you wasn't a dope head, praise the Lord, but you sure wasn't drunk. God bless you, Brother John. Get on up here. Get on up here. Boy, have you forgot what God's delivered us from? Hey man, you used to hang out at the club all night long, they turned the lights on about 1.30 and you used to think what kind of a rat hole you was in and thought, what in the world am I doing here? Isn't it amazing how the light will sever you up? I knew I'd get somewhere pretty quick where everybody's been at. And I'm seeing the faces going, Amen. Samuel said, here's the direction for your life. When thou art departed from me today, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel's sepulcher in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah. And they will say unto thee, Now, before I say this, let me just clarify something. Sometimes when God speaks to us, we don't get the big instructions that we think we should get. As a young Christian, the Lord ain't going to speak to you and say, I just want you to know, I want you to go down to Jacksonville and pastor that church down there, First Baptist. They got a pastor, Lord, but if you want me to go, I'll tell them to leave. Sometimes God gives us such small, insignificant jobs in our eyes. When all alone, all He wants is for us to have an opportunity to obey. When all alone, all He wants is for us to see we couldn't even do the small jobs. Because in our eyes, we're looking for the big jobs. Because the big jobs get big pats on the back. The Bible says, when you go by there, He said, they will say unto thee the assets which thou wentest to seek are found. And lo, thy father hath left the care of the assets, and soweth for you, saying, what shall I do for my son? It might seem like Saul had gotten to the place now, Bud Jeff, where he could forget his family, and he could forget his father's instruction, and he could forget the things that he knew he was supposed to do in life. But Samuel said, there'll be people to remind you. There'll be folk to say, hey, don't forget about that job. Don't forget about that job your father gave you. Hey, well, y'all must have all been Georgia fans yesterday or Clemson fans or whatever. Don't forget about the instruction that Jesus gave you. Don't forget about the encouragement that your pastor gave you. Just go on and do. Go on and do what you're supposed to do. We're talking about the Sunday school, getting Sunday school started back. I don't know about y'all, but I've been walking around here. I walk around and look at them vans and look at the bus. And I'm thinking, I know we're going to have to buy new batteries, they haven't been run, or either just buy some of them little trickle chargers and hook them up and get them charged back up and take them and have them checked out and oil changed and everything done to them. And all these things got to be done in preparation for the real service. For the real job, for the bringing folk in, for the letting people get in church and come to the house of God. I mean, before we can have folks sitting in a church house that the Holy Spirit of God can preach to them and teach to them and speak to them. There's other things that has to be done. But the little things, the little jobs are just as important. We'll never get them here. We'll never get them here. Saul's father, he said, what shall I do for my son? Man, I tell you, if there's ever been somebody that had a son that was worthy of doing something for, I'd say it was the Son of God. If there was ever somebody that had a son that was worthy of being recognized and glorified This week, while we were doing the devotion, one woman out there, I tell you, that was talking about when Lazarus died, John chapter 11, and we got to talking about that. And I'm telling you, God just moved out there, Brother Bradley, and that thing. And God showed me, God showed me, are you listening to me? God showed me that morning that God's willing, are you listening to me? God's willing to do whatever it takes, even if it takes letting someone die, that the Son of God might be glorified. Now, if we want to serve Him, we've got to buckle down. Listen, if we want to serve Him, you've got to buckle down and just know this, God might just pick you and your family to glorify Him, Son. I'm not saying He will, but He could just as easily with you as He could with another family. I've seen it over and over. I've seen it, by the way, over and over. God can do what He wants to. He's God. He ain't got to ask me nothing. Never has asked me nothing. Just what He wants to do. Amen. The Bible says this in verse 3, Then shalt thou go on forward, and thence shalt thou come to the plan of the table, and there shalt meet thee three men going up to Bethel, one carrying three kids, another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine. I'm thankful. I'm thankful for M-E-A-T. Anybody? Besides me? I just like meat. I can eat meat with anything. But sometimes I have a problem eating anything without meat. I can do it. I'm just not as happy about it. I like meat. You know, I was looking at this text and I'm thinking about how God provided what we need Bible provided meat for this situation. He provided bread for this situation. And he provided wine for this situation. Now, don't get excited. It wasn't Mad Dog 2020. For all you social drinkers, if there be any present this morning, I pray there's not. And I pray God would do for you like he done for me and just turn me totally against that stuff. He didn't just turn me against it where I didn't desire it no more. He made me hate it. He made me not want it. I'm telling you, brother Lee, boy, I just didn't want to be around it. Amen. I quit. I quit hanging around with the folk that did it because I didn't want to be around it. But I see this. I see that there's meat provided and bread. That wine, that wine is the type of the Holy Ghost. type of the Spirit of God. Listen, listen, there's only one Spirit of God that's present. That's all we need. But I'm telling you every day when I get up and before I do a morning devotion, I've looked through my Bible and I'm looking for some meat. I'm looking for something to give God's people. I'm looking for something that will help us and strengthen us. and get us on the right road for that day to help us to go out and be the kind of Christian, the kind of child of God that God wants us to be. I'm just wanting to be what God... I'm wanting to give somebody some meat from God's Word. And the only way to give them some meat from God's Word is to take them to the Bread of Life. Jesus said, I am the bread of life. Listen, you want something that will satisfy you? It ain't going to be Bible doctrine that's going to change your life. It ain't going to be you arguing over whether the earth was flat or the earth was round. It ain't going to be you arguing over if Adam had a belly button. It ain't going to be you arguing over who Adam married or nothing like that or who Cain married or nothing like that. What's going to really help you is to get along somewhere with the Lord Jesus Christ To get along somewhere with the Lord Jesus Christ, to get along with God the Son, whether it's in your Bible or by yourself in your prayer life, in your meditation, just get along with God and say, Lord, I need you. My family needs you. My wife needs you. My husband needs you. My children need you. God, listen, listen, I asked someone the other day, I said, when was the last time that you talked to your children about Jesus Christ? And some folk tell me they've never. Had their family talk to them about Jesus? I mean, just be good for them. When was the last time? Hey, young person, when was the last time? When was the last time the Lord showed you something? When was the last time you read your Bible and you got a real blessing from heaven out of it? I'm not talking to kids that's three years old right here. When was the last time that you just prayed and said, God, I know that you're just as much God for me as you are for my mom and daddy. But darn it, we need that, don't we? Don't we need that? The Bible said this in verse 4, And they will salute thee, and give thee two loaves of bread, which thou shalt receive of their hands. And he says, And thou shalt come to the hill of God. person of the Philippines. And can I tell you, can I tell you, somebody's coming down the hill. Somebody's coming down the hill. They're coming down the hill and they've been up there worshiping David. They've been up there with their instruments. They've been praising God. They've been singing, I never shall forget the day. They've been singing, nothing but the blood. They've been, I mean, they've been worshiping God. They got their instruments. They got their sculpture, their tavern, the pipe, the harp. And they got so close to God. Now they got, God has just blessed them so much, now they're prophesying. I mean, they've been up there on the mountain worshiping God. And I know every day we can't live by the dust and we can't live on the mountaintop every day. But thank God on them good days when we can get up there. Thank God on them good days when we can climb up there and just meet with God. Hey, listen to me. It don't bother me to say I'm going to find God. It don't bother me to say I'm going to church. Listen, hey, hey, I'm glad to be able to come to the house of the Lord. I'm glad to be in God's house on Sunday morning and Sunday night and Wednesday night and any other night if we're down there on times like that. And if you don't, if your heart is not fixed like that, there's something wrong in your spiritual walk. Got real quiet right there. Got real quiet right there because nobody likes to be told that they're wrong. Nobody likes to be told, brother Darnell, that they're wrong. But I'm telling you, if you don't want to serve us as God, if you don't want to worship the Lord Jesus Christ, if you don't want to thank Him and praise Him for rescuing you. Hey, we said a while ago, you might have been an old drunk. You might have been an old dope addict. You might have been a wicked, vile sinner. Some things you just hate to even talk about in the church house. But I mean, you might have been nothing. You didn't think nothing about partying and going out on Friday night and ended up somewhere different on Sunday morning. I mean, your life might have consisted of nothing but sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, lying to mom and daddy, cheating, hiding behind their back. And God, God, God, God had mercy on you. God gave you compassion and God gave you mercy and grace that you'd never thought you'd ever receive. My goodness. My goodness. He said, In the Spirit of the Lord will come upon thee. Thou shalt prophesy with them and shalt be turned into another man. Now he's going to be a king, Brother Alex. The Bible said he's going to be a different man, another man. Different than what he was. Well, is there anybody here that went through that? My life, my life changed. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. He is a new creature. Amen. Amen. I mean, just different, different, but a lot different than what we used to be. Don't talk like we used to talk. Don't go where we used to go. Don't hang out where we used to hang out. I'm just talking about different. Thank God. And happy. And listen, God didn't make me different and make me mad. God made me different and made me glad. I'm happy about the Lord making a difference in my life. I'm happy about God giving me a home with a wife that loves me and a family that loves me. I'm glad, I'm happy this morning that God gave me the things that I never thought I'd ever have. Children and grandchildren that want to live and go to church and serve the Lord. I wasn't expecting all of that. He said there shall be another man. And here's the verse that we want to preach on today. Verse number 7. He said, And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do. That thou do. Do you know as a Christian you've got some jobs to do? Brother Donny, as a child of God, you've got some jobs you've got to do as a husband, as a father. Brother David, you've got some jobs to do as a Christian. Brother Caleb, as a Christian, as an example before your wife and your baby. Brother Daniel, he's told me over and over how they start the day off right. And he's an example before his girls and with his wife. There's a job that we have to do as a Christian. He said if you walk in the light, if He is in the light, we'll have fellowship one with another. We're going to have one of the jobs we're going to have to do is we're going to have to walk in the light of the Lord Jesus Christ. We're going to have to do it. He said that thou do. Do it. Do it. If there's ever been anything that's I hate to use the word discouraging because a preacher can get discouraged and drop the hat, and sometimes he'll drop the hat. But if there's ever been anything that kind of just brings you down, it's when you go to church and folk just sit there and look at you like a cow staring at a new gate. How many has ever seen a cow looking at a new gate? If you ain't, you've missed a treat. They don't quit eating. They'll just get them another bite of hay or green grass. Like they're waiting on that gate to perform a miracle. Like it could open on its own. They may be even thinking, why'd they put a gate there? That's where I used to walk for you. Sometimes people will look at you while you're preaching your liver out, like... Samuel said this, he said, Do, as occasion serves thee. That means, Brother Bradley, be ready. Be ready, because you don't never know. Tomorrow, tomorrow, for all you good folk that's got businesses, somebody might knock on y'all's door and say, I need a job. That's a wonderful opportunity, if you've got a business, to ask them about the Lord. I made a little stipulation. I remember going to Sister Cassie's place, which no longer belongs to her, but going to Sister Cassie's place and a sign up there. And it's still there, I think. It says, thank you for not swearing. I appreciate that. You don't have to cuss in front of me. I don't require it. That'll usually open the door for another conversation. Or if you're working Looking for work, it's a good opportunity to get to ask them what it's like there. Does everybody swear around here? Does everybody drink around here? I mean, it's just a little thing to let you know you probably won't fit in. Don't even be concerned with the money yet. Wow, I really felt like this was going to help somebody. He said that thou do as the occasion serve thee, for God is with thee. Whatever, whatever, brother Danny, whatever you go through, whatever job God gives you, He's with you. Whatever you're facing in life today, God's with you. Whatever tomorrow holds, God's with you. Wherever you end up next year, God will be with you. I mean, it may seem, it might seem to you, it may be a little discouraging over the thought of all this stuff. Can I encourage you over the presidential election? Can I encourage you? Is there anybody who would like to get some encouragement out of all that? You're probably thinking there is none. Oh, I got something encouraging to say. I can encourage you. I finally got your attention. Took me 45 minutes, but I finally got your attention. I thought, dear Lord, they got one of the busiest checkbooks I've ever seen in my life right there. Had Mr. Biden not won the election, this country would be burned to the ground. Do you want your city burned? That's the only way out. Did you think for just a moment that Mr. Biden is not in control of what God wants? Do you still believe that God is in control? Did you think he forgot about us? No. But I did think about this brother Larry. As men wax worse and worse, so must leadership. It just so happens we're living in this hour. But I'm still going to sing, My Jesus, I love Thee. I'm still going to lift up my hands and praise the Lord. I'm still going to shout Hallelujah. I'm still going to thank God for His mercy that's endured forever. I am still going to go to church every Sunday if I'm not laid up in the hospital or dying with a round two of Corona. But I'm fully persuaded it's gone. And I'm just saying, our God is still God. And the job, the job, listen, it don't matter if you change your mind about what you want to do for God. The job God gave you to do in the beginning is still your job. And Saul might have, it might have looked real good, brother Andrew. Samuel anoints him. Samuel, God is going to use him. He's giving him instruction. He's telling him what to do. He said, do it. He said, when the occasion comes, do it and be reminded that God's with you. But in the end, It was Saul that his heart changed. In the end, Samuel's broken over the whole thing, this whole situation. Samuel's one of the greatest men in the Bible. But Saul changes his heart. And now, whereas he used to be, are you listening? Whereas he used to be a faithful servant, ready, willing to go whatever God wanted, Now he's mad at God's man. Now he's mad at the people of God. Now, in the open, he's willing to stick a spear through the heart of David. A man after God's own heart. You say, David did wrong too. That's what's wrong with us today. We're looking for all the negative in everybody. You and I, listen, you and I should pray every day and ask God to make us like David and to make us like Peter. He said, but he cussed. Yeah, well, God let him be a preacher before 5,000 got saved. God let him write two books in the Bible. I'd say God thought something really good about him. Left him in control. Listen, let's do this. Let's just serve the Lord with gladness. Let's start out right. Let's end up right. Let's stay on track. Let's do what God's given us to do. Let's serve God like God wants us to serve Him. And please, please understand me. I'm not preaching against Baldwin. I watched two yesterday. I mean, had it not been for Maxwell House, I wouldn't have made through one of them. But Mother Glenn, it kept me pretty wide awake, quarter to eleven. I'm still looking like a hoot-owl sitting up there in the bed. I mean, I mean, listen, I think Christians can have a good time in life and enjoy themselves. And fellowship one with another. But not out there in that world. Not out there with them godless people. Not out there with them people that don't like our Savior. He said that the glory of God, that God the Son might be glorified. That's why He let Lazarus die. He let him die. He let him die. And Mary, nor Martha, knew that He was going to resurrect Him. He just let Him die. And people got saved from what she said and what He did. Thank God. Let's glorify our Savior. Amen.
