Well, anyway, 2 Timothy 2, verse number four says this. Let's talk about God now. Verse number three says, God, our Savior, who will have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. If you mark in your Bible, I'd like for you to underline, who will have all men to be saved and secondly, to come to the knowledge of the truth. How does a man get saved? It tells us there that God will have all men to be saved God, there's something everybody needs to know. God is not willing that any perish, but that all come to repentance. That's the will of God. Hey, by the way, we've got a lot of folks on vacation taking trips. I'm glad they are, but be in prayer for them as they're traveling in different places. The Bible said that Jesus tasted death for every man. The Bible does not teach that God foreordained or predestined anybody to go to hell. I don't believe that. The Bible said Jesus tasted death for every man. The Bible said, whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Whosoever encompasses everybody. Now I know the sovereignness of God and I know about predestine all that, but you've got to line that up also with God's word where he says that he tasted death for every man. And it says right here in this verse, he said, who will have all men, verse number four, who will have all men to be saved. God wants everybody to be saved. The Bible said, for God so loved the world, not just a few people in the world. So we need to get that down. But now it says there, how do you get saved? How do you get saved? By coming to a knowledge of the truth. Is everybody with me? Let's say amen. Alright, how do you get saved by coming? The Bible says right there in that verse now. I'm not preaching Reggie Kelly chapter 3 I'm preaching the Bible first Timothy chapter 2 and I'll tell you let's have a good time this morning We're preaching to people all over the United States and somewhere places in the world today and right here And we'll tell all you folks listening online that we're the worst sinners. You're next in line. Amen All right, but I'll tell you, we all needed to be saved. I was a sinner headed to hell. I needed to be saved. How did I get saved? I came to a knowledge of the truth that I was a sinner, that God is holy, that I was separated from God by my sin, that he sent his son to die in my place and shed his blood and pay the price of my sin debt in full, and I had to believe on him and trust him by faith in what Jesus Christ did. I had to receive Jesus Christ as my savior. It was a gift. It was not by merit. It was not by works. That's a knowledge of the truth. Now there's a lot more to it, even just things after you say, but it's all there. John 14, six says, Jesus said, I am the truth. The Bible said in John 17, 17, thy word is truth. And so if you're gonna have a knowledge of the truth to be saved, you're gonna have to get it from Christ and Christ in the word. Now I want you to take your Bible. Now keep in mind this phrase, to come into a knowledge of the truth. Go to 2 Timothy, just flip over there a couple of pages, three or four pages. 2 Timothy chapter two, And verse 25, now the Bible said here, he's talking to Timothy as a pastoral epistle, telling pastors how to pastor a church, how to proclaim the gospel, how to behave in the house of God and so forth. And he said in verse 25, in meekness, instructing those that oppose themselves. Did you know a lost man opposes his own saving? He'll fight his own saving. It's like a man drowning, fighting the rope, fighting the life, somebody trying to reach out and get him. And he says there in verse number 25, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves, if God peradventure will give them repentance, by the way, you've got to repent to get saved. I don't believe you can get saved without it. Bible says, except a man repent, you'll all perish. The times of this ignorance God winked at, but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent. Salvation without repentance is hell's trash. It just makes somebody a religious billy goat. And God requires repentance. But here's the thing. Repentance is a work of grace. See, this is where they try to get me. Some of these old boys out here don't like me too well. Here's where they try to get me. They'll say, Reggie, you say a man's got to repent and that's worse. No, it ain't worse. God gives you, it says right here, God gives them repentance. You don't just walk up one day and says, well, you know, I think I'll be a good old boy and repent. No, the Holy Ghost of God is going to work in your heart, convict you that you're a sinner. You're guilty. You're worthy of death and hell. And I'll tell you what, the Holy Ghost of God is going to come and say, listen, you need to repent. You need to repent. And God gives you the grace. God gives you the grace, that desire and power to say, oh God, I'm a sinner. Oh God, would you forgive me? Oh God, I want to turn from my sin and I want to turn to Jesus Christ. That's a gift. Even repentance, Brother Ralph, is a gift of God. There ain't no works of our righteousness. And then he said, repent us. Watch it, to the what? There it is. Acknowledging of the truth. He said, why can't they get saved back in 1 Timothy? He said, because they won't come to a knowledge of the truth. Now, as I said in 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy 2.25, God gives repentance to the acknowledging of the truth. It is a work of the Holy Ghost in the heart and the mind that leads a person to acknowledge that truth. Now here's the thing, watch me. You can be confronted with truth, But that don't mean you acknowledge it. Now, I'm gonna preach a message today entitled, The Danger of Resisting Truth. Now, I said that this Bible is truth. God says my word is truth. Jesus Christ said I am truth. And by the way, you ain't gonna find truth nowhere else in the entire world. It's the only place you'll ever find truth is right here. You ain't gonna find it out of Reg Kelly or anybody else you know or like. You sure ain't gonna find it out of Washington, D.C. You sure ain't gonna find it on the news. You're not going to find it in a history book. They're rewriting them things all the time. This is the only place in the world you're going to find truth. And God says there is a deep danger of resisting the truth. Now, God gives repentance. And so what he says is this. When you acknowledge that truth that God is holy, that you're a sinner, that Christ is the Son of God, that he's the substitute, the sacrifice, the acceptable sacrifice for our sin and the payment of our sin, that is through grace, by faith, that all of our righteousness is as filthy rags, that we have to have Christ's righteousness imputed to us by faith, and that it's by the mercy of God, and so forth, and that he's the only way to heaven. Now, that's the truth. There's not the Hindu way, the Muslim way, the Mormon way, and all that kind of way, and this way and that way. It's Christ. He said, I am the door by me. If any man enter in, he shall be saved. The Bible said, neither is there salvation in any other, Acts 4.12, for he said, there's none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. And it's all Christ. Amen. Now, watch. I want you to look at another verse. This is a theme through both 1 and 2 Timothy. 2 Timothy 3, verse 17. Now, we looked at 1, we looked at 1 Timothy 2, 4. We looked at 2 Timothy 2, 25. Now we're going to look at 2 Timothy 3 and verse number 7. And this is where we're going to take our text today. Amen. I like old-time Bible preaching. I don't care if any... You know why I like it? Because the devil hates it. I like it. I like it. I like it straight. I like it straight. I like it clean and sharp Amen, that's why that's what I'll do you some good verse number seven says what's this ever learning and Never able to come to the knowledge of truth. Whoa God said there's gonna be some people in this world. That'll never come to the truth He said all-time learning They're going to Bible studies They're going to church. They're listening to preachers here and there and yonder. And they're getting an education over here at this school, and they're getting an education at that school, and whatever. But they're never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Why? You know, we ought to ask the question, why on earth does God tell us? He says, listen, if you're going to be saved, you've got to come to acknowledging of the truth. And he says, but he gets on a second thing. He's talking about the latter days. You look at verse number one. He said, in the latter days, there's going to be people ever learning. They're going to get seminary degrees, go through Bible college, all kinds of stuff, and never come to a knowledge of the truth, and die and bust hell wide open. Now, the Bible is going to give the answer to this question in verse number 5, why they never come. It says in verse number 8, now, as Janus and Jambres withstood Moses. Now, watch this. So do these also. Now he gave you an Old Testament example of those who withstood Moses and the truth that God had given Moses. He said, so do these, who? These people in the latter days, verse number one, last days, so do these also do something. Do you know why people will never come to a knowledge of the truth, Dean? Because the Bible says right there in verse eight, they resist the truth. They resist it. They fight it. They hate it. They despise it. And they will not have it. And God says, I'm going to do something to you that's awful dangerous when you resist the truth. I'm going to preach a message, the danger of resisting the truth. Let's pray. Lord in heaven, we pray you help us preach today as a dying man to dying people, because we are. I pray God to help us today to lift up the Lamb of God, to lift up the cross of Calvary, the Lord Jesus Christ, the shed blood, salvation by grace through faith, plus nothing, minus nothing. Help us, God, to cut the legs off of religion and give them Christ. I pray, Heavenly Father, today you help me to preach in a way, Lord, that folks will think about where they're going to spend eternity and want to be saved. And I pray God in heaven that he'll preach a way to aggravate the devil. I pray Lord to stir up hell itself and make him mad. And Lord, we just thank you today that we're in a spiritual warfare, that our weapons are mighty and they're not carnal, but they're mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. We're glad today, God, that greater is he that's within us than is in the world. Lord, we're glad today that nothing's impossible, God, nothing too hard for God. We're glad, Lord, today that we're more than overcomers through him that died for us. And I pray God that you help us today to preach with the old-time unction and anointing to the Holy Ghost of God. Lord, you've been so faithful all these years of preaching, and Lord, I need again. Lord, I can't preach on my own. I've got to have the power of the Spirit working through me, and I've got to have the power of the Spirit, Lord, reaching those that are listening. And we pray, God, today, that you'll save people today. In Jesus' name, amen and amen. So the question is now, why do people resist the truth, don't preach on the danger of resisting the truth? You know, in America right now, there's a movement called the resistance. How many have seen it in the news? All right, get with me. How many's awake? How many's awake? Can you raise your hand? All right, everybody awake, all right. How many has noticed somewhere, it's an upraised fist. It's an upraised fist like it's a movement in America called resistance. And I want to take that and use it a little bit. Now, these resistance people are Marxists. Now, I'm telling you right now, they're communists, and they're in this nation. It's mostly defined through the liberal political movement that hates God Almighty, wants the Constitution shredded, don't want a Bible nowhere in the world, and they hate God. They're Marxist and you're socialist people. They are resisting the truth that founded, that this nation was founded upon. They resist the truth of God Almighty. They do not want God in our culture. They do not want God in our lives. They don't want God anywhere in this world. And they're a resistant movement. They're anarchists, by the way. Hillary Clinton and Bozo, what's his name? Obama, Bernie Sanders. All of those people are disciples of Saul Alinsky, who wrote the book Rules for Radicals. And in that book, Rules of Radicals, it is nothing but a condensed version of Das Kapital that Karl Marx wrote back in the 1850s that tell you how to overthrow a Christian nation, how to overthrow the authority of God in the governments of this world. Now, folks, that is flat out. That ain't fake news. That's real news. That's the truth about Sololensky. He is a Marxist that has designed a way to try to overthrow Peacefully, watch it now, if possible, violently, if need be, this nation. God, they're God haters. They're Christian haters. The other day when they found out that Trump was having a Bible study in the White House, they had a cow. I mean, they had a rank fit. That ought not be in the White House. He's an idiot. He's crazy. He's going to destroy this nation with a Bible study in the White House. And they're resisting the truth. They fight the truth. I want to tell you not only that, but most religious people resist the truth. Religious people resist the truth worse than anybody. When Jesus walked on this earth, who was it that resisted him more than anybody? It was those sorry, low-down Pharisees that had twisted the Word of God to where nothing affected anybody anymore, and they could get away with doing anything, and they hated his guts, and I'll talk to you a little bit more about that later. Most lost people resist the truth. I'll tell you what, you say, why don't they want to hear the gospel? Why don't they want to talk about the Lord? Why don't they want to go where God's been? Why don't they want to do it? They want to resist the truth. Self-righteous people resist the truth. Now, if you want to get somebody mad, just tear the legs out from underneath the self-righteous person. When he tells you, well, I got baptized in 1976, you tell him that, what, did you get saved first? And he'll say, well, nobody got baptized. And you say, you're still going to hell. He'll get mad at you. And he'll resist the truth that he's not saved by how good he is. He's saved by the grace, that he can get saved by the grace of God. Most people want to go to heaven based upon the fact that they're pretty good people and they're a good, great man. Somebody said to me, Reggie, I couldn't believe you got up and preached a message at your own dad's funeral entitled the greatest sin Garnet Kelly ever committed. There's a purpose in that. My dad knew that if he wasn't careful, my dad knew he had a lot of friends in country. My dad knew that a lot of people considered him to be a good man. My dad knew a lot of people considered him to be a great man. But my dad did not want people thinking that what took him to heaven. Amen. You know why I'm a happy son today? Because I preached my dad's funeral exactly like I thought he wanted it. And more than that, I preached like I thought God wanted it. And my dad did not want a Garland Kelly glorification service. He wanted Jesus Christ to be exalted because my dad knew that if it wasn't for the blood of Jesus Christ and the grace of God and the mercy of God, he'd have busted hell wide open the night he passed away. Amen. And I'm gonna tell you something, but you got a lot of people in this country thinks that because they went to church 42 years, because they haven't beat their wife in 16 years, because they pay their bills, because they're not, hadn't robbed a bank or done something, didn't do drugs, or they don't smoke, or they don't drink, or they wear their dress down their ankle, or they bun their hair up on top, or whatever it may be, they think that makes them righteous. That does not make anybody righteous, never has taken anybody to heaven, never will take nobody to heaven. You'll bust hell wide open with the dress down your ankles and your shirt bucked up to your collar. If you're not born again in the Spirit of God and saved by the blood of Christ, amen. Amen, amen. I'll tell you what, I'm so happy this morning to be saved. I'll tell you I'm so happy my dad's in glory. I can't hardly stand it. I'm telling you right now, the Bible said, now watch this, the devil will corrupt love. He'll make you, let me give you an example of corrupted love. Well, the sodomites, they just need us to love them. They don't need to be condemned. They don't need to be told that that's wrong. We need to love them. Oh, yeah? So you're going to love them right on down to hell. You're never going to tell them they don't repent and believe on Jesus Christ and turn from that wickedness. And you won't say a word to them? And you get mad when somebody preaches on it and your nephew's a queer? You don't love them, that's who don't love them. Let me give you another one. Oh, when your child does something stupid and he's mean as hell and goes out and robs and steals and gets drunk and wrecks somebody's car, does something like that, and you take up for him against the cops? You don't love your son. You're sending your son to hell. You see, we can corrupt love. We can corrupt truth. Now listen to me this morning, I'm going to give you about four or five things to let you out of here. Number one, what are the characteristics of a person who has rejected and resisted the truth? Number one, he'll have a rebellious spirit against the Word of God and the things of God. He'll have a disobedient attitude toward the Bible and God ordained authority. Preacher gets up and preaches. The Bible says thus and thus. The Bible says thus and thus. And when it hits him, he gets mad and sour, all puffed up, buns his arms up like that and said, bless God, I'll never come back here. It's not about what that person, it's about resisting the truth. I'll tell you the best thing that ever happened to you is saying, listen, Lord, I ain't going to just believe everything Reggie says, but if he's preaching that Bible, I'm going to believe it. I'm going to practice it. I'm going to go out by your grace and try to live by it. And I ain't going to get all soured up and puffed up and mad because he preached on what my kids did last week. I'll tell you what, in 35 years of pastor of this church, I wouldn't know how many mamas have left here mad and drug their little wimpy husbands out of here because I preached on their daughter wearing nothing. They prance their daughter in here with her little old short shirts up like that and tempting and seducing and defrauding everybody, every man from nine years old down to 15 in this church. And I get on preaching on nakedness and stuff. And I see mamas that go, pfft, pfft, pfft, pfft. And then she comes about six more Sundays, hiding back there like a squirrel. So nobody can see how mad she looks, but boy, she wastes the preaching time. I'm going to let you know I hate your guts. I can sit back here and hide in the church and give you the mean looks while you were preaching. Besides that, buddy, I'm taking my man and my kids out of here. I'll show you a thing or two. No, you know what the problem? She was resisting the truth that does not the Bible say you ought to dress modestly? Have we all done right? No. But my goodness, why would a man resist her? I'll tell you why. Because that mama's got rebellion in her heart. Rebellion, rebellion, and rebellion is as a sin of witchcraft straight out of the bowels of hell. We're having a good time this morning. We're having a good old time Hey, man, I won't tell you the Bible said in verse 1 and 2 a chapter 2nd in chapter 3 They'd be lovers of their own selves now watch me Selfie right? Hey! How stupid to picture yourself in a bathroom! That's perversion! And a preacher get up and preach on that and you get mad? You're crazy! You're full of rebellion! You're resisting the truth! You're gonna wind up in hell! I'll show you where, God's gonna show you exactly where it's gonna take you to. Bible said they're covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents. Get up, I'll tell you what, first real granddaddy experience I had as a preacher, when I started preaching, there was a family in the church who had some kids, and they thought everybody in the world ought to come and go to their kids. You bow to our kids, and them kids, hey Jim, you know what them kids do? When I was preaching or anybody was doing anything, They come up behind the public. How many have been in a church service like that? Oh, it's more thick than I thought it was. And so I started pastoring a church. Huh? You have now? Woo! Did anybody take any pictures? Well, so here I am. I'm trying to preach. Kids are crawling, like Brother Matt. You had a two-year-old. They'd come up through here right through everybody's legs. Do you think for one second the Holy Ghost of God is going to move in a church like that? Well, see, what you're supposed to do is go, oh, isn't that cute? Hustle one Sunday, the Lord said, don't you preach on that. You know what I told God the night I surrendered? I said, God, if you put it in me, I'll preach it. I cannot be a coward preacher. I ain't going to go after nobody, Lord. If you ever show me in the Word of God what to preach, you're going to have to do something with the Holy Ghost inside of me, because if I cannot overcome the fear of man, I won't be no preacher. And I get up on a Sunday morning, opened up the Bible, said, turn to the book of Jeremiah. Boy, I want to tell you what I went to preaching and you talk about steam coming out the ears. But you know what happened? Guess what happened? It stopped. Why don't you take your Bible? How many got a Bible with you? If you ain't got an authorized version, don't hold it up because you ain't got one. Hold her up in the air. All right. Now, I'm going to ask you an honest question. How many believes this is the Word of God? How many believes it is an authority? How many believes it's an authority over you? So when this book says something right, now watch this. There's a difference between going, yaza, yaza. I believes it, amen, yaza. and going out that door and saying, I'm gonna obey it. Resisting the truth does not mean we won't intellectually say that we believe the Bible. Resisting the truth is when it comes down to an area of my life and God says, that's not to be done, that's not pleasing to me, that is not what I want in your life, and I say, I don't care, I'm gonna do it anyway. It's rebellion. By the way, if you're resisting the truth, it is a dangerous thing to be in a church where the truth is preached and resist it and get into rebellion. Let me just give you an example. There's rebellion against police in our country. Bless God, I know there's Barney Fives. I know it. They're not all Barney Fives. Most of them good men. I pulled up the ramp here last night, and just before I got to the ramp, I'm looking, yeah, the ramp, just before I got to the ramp, had been coming back from Springfield, a highway patrol car zoomed around me and cut right in front of me and put the lights on the trailer in front of me. Because I was following him doing about 65 miles an hour. The guy wasn't speeding. Box trailer, goosenecks box trailer like you do your construction work. And that guy started to go on by the off-ramp and then he pulled back in, pulled up there. The cop stopped him. The cop jumped out real fast, had a big long deal like that. And I eased up there and I stopped. I didn't know where I should stop, go on by or whatever like that. And he goes, I thought, where's your attitude? Good grief, man. I just want to know what I should do. I'm not trying to get in your way. And I told Karen, I said, that kind of attitude is what causes people trouble sometimes. But watch this. I turned and went down the street here and got the four-way light. And the best we could tell, there were three more patrol cars sitting there, and they were zooming back up there. They knew something was going on Reggie Kelly didn't know nothing about. That guy wanted me out of the way in case trouble hit. Amen? But I could have went home and said, oh, that cop, he had a snotty attitude there. I'm going to tell you something right now. Just as much as your parent is an authority, policemen are authority, authorities are authority over our life, God wants us to submit unless it causes us to disobey the word of God. God wants to have a right attitude. If we're not, I'm going to tell you right now, I'm totally against this Black Lives Matter nonsense. That's out of hell. It's sorry, no doubt. I've watched them spit on cops. I'm sick and tired of it. They ought to knock them in the head with a billy club and drag them to jail. Throw away the key and say, when you can act right, we'll let you out of here. Don't you kids ever get an attitude toward cops? If he does wrong, you make an appeal. He's just a man like you. You sound like that. Well, I tell you what about spitting on your mom and daddy? You're going to spit on the cops. They're in authority. What about spitting on your mom and daddy? I'm telling you, when God says obey those that have the authority over you, and you don't do it, you are resisting the truth, you are rebelling against God, and you're going to bring judgment upon your life. That's all it is about it. Well, anyway, we're talking about rebellion. The first thing, the characteristic of a person who resists truth is rebellion. I'll tell you, there's rebellion against preachers in this country, it's unreal. I don't care whether you like it or not, as far as this church goes, I'm the human boss. Now, you may not like that, and I can't help it. And I tell you, bless God, I don't like being the boss. Bosses have to make decisions that a lot of people don't like. They have to show the responsibilities people don't like. We're not to be lords over God's heritage. I'm to be servant of all. But somebody's got to make the last shot, folks. That's just like your house. Well, what should we do? Well, let's have a committee meeting here at your house. I want counsel from everybody, but when it comes down to it, I got to call a shot. I ain't going to ask some board what I can preach. Amen. That's right. By the way, you can't find board members in the Bible. Amen. Let me give you another one, resisting truth in this country, sanctuary cities. That's lawlessness. They'd be glad I'm not president. I'd have sent the National Guard in there, arrested the mayor, the city council, and anybody else in authority that pulled that nonsense. I'd have put them in jail the first thing. I might have sent them across the Mexican border just to have fun. Sanctuary cities are lawlessness. Lawlessness. for a city to say, we're going to protect illegal immigration. Those are invaders. They're not immigrants. They're invaders. And they're violating the law. And now they're finding out how many millions of them have been voting. And when a mayor and a city council or a governor does not want people to check who's on the voting rolls, lawlessness, voter fraud, rebelling against righteousness, resistance to the truth. Well, let's just hang on there just a minute. Rebelling and resisting the Bible is not characteristics of a born-again person. The characteristics of a born-again person is to have a submissive, willing, joyful obedience to the Word of God. God says it, bless God that's right, now let's go for it. What about men wearing women's apparel? Abomination, what God says. What about women dressing like men? I heard the other day about a man who told his sons. He said, now sons, I'm going to tell you something. These boys out here putting these earrings in their ears and their snouts and their lips. He said, if you walk in the house, every walk in the house one, he said, I'll jerk it right out of your hide, and I won't undo it. I'll jerk it out. And both the boys, both the boys are big old boys, big boys. I'm talking about big. One of them got up to age. He's big. He walks in the house one day with a big ol' earring, left ear. One of them kind that really screws, he didn't get it pierced, it was one of them kind that you screw down hard. Shame it wasn't pierced. His dad's sittin' at the kitchen table. Boy walked around, sat down, started eatin'. Dad got up pretty soon, took his coffee cup over to the dim, got him a cup of coffee, walked around like he was gonna go off in the other living room and just circled around that side. Come up behind that boy's left ear and jerk that earring out of his ear. That's what kind of daddies we need in this country. You ain't sitting at my table with a hog. You know what my mama said? She said, they come in my house, I'm going to go. She said, they're going to pierce their nose like a hog. I'm going to snort at them like a hog. Amen. Let me tell you something. Listen, what your past is your past. Did you know the Bible says that we're not supposed to put marks on our body? Read your Bible. Of course, the Bible doesn't say anything about gossiping. I had a guy call me while back. He said, I don't know what state he's from. He said, I was listening to your message on the other day on something. He said, you said you'd rather have 10 men sitting on the front row, spitting, chewing tobacco in a, what do you call it, a spittoon, and missing every three or four licks than to have one old long-tongued lizard in the church house. I said, that's exactly right. I mean, it meant what it said. It said what it meant. He said, I just called to tell you. He said, if that would be in churches, we wouldn't have near as much trouble as we're having. Anyway. Preacher gets up and preach on the Bible. People get mad, sourly, then they demonize the preacher, demonize the church. I want to give you a little something God taught me not too long ago. They crucified our Lord. Anybody know what they did to him before they crucified him? Before they ever started beating him, before they ever had the trial, what did they have to do to justify their arrest? They demonized him. This is critical, watch this. Did you know that before your enemies crucify you, they will demonize you? They seem to like Jesus, Brother Terry, as long as he's feeding the bread and the fishes and the loaves, as long as he's healing everybody and making the blind see and making everybody walk and all that. Oh, he was the best thing that ever hit town. But when he walked in that temple that day and said, you're a bunch of vipers and serpents and so forth, and he preached the socks off of their feet, they got together in the huddle, the football huddle, and said, we're going to have to kill this guy. How are we going to go out doing that? We can't just arrest him without something going on. So you know what they begin to say? Well, listen to me. Listen to me good. They said, he does what he does by the power of Beelzebub, the prince of devils. He has the devil. What he does, brother Matt, it's the prince of power, the Beelzebub. He's doing this stuff by the power of hell. And what were they doing? They were demonizing. Did you know every person that's going to crucify somebody else, before they crucify them, they'll justify the crucifying by the demonizing? You better learn that. Everything you're gonna deal with in life's in the Bible. When somebody starts demonizing somebody, you know what they're wanting to do? They're wanting to crucify him. So in order to be able to go talk about it and run them down and say how sorry and low down and worthless they are, and they're of the devil. Here recently, I've been called a Pharisee. My folks who used to go to church here used to tell me they loved me. Used to hug me every Sunday morning, told me, I just love you, Reggie. Did I hug Glenn? Mercy. Sorry, Glenn. Sweat probably got all over him. He's going to be over there going, ah. No, I'm telling you, they'll demonize you before they ever crucify you. They got to. They got to. People say, well, what's wrong? Well, let me tell you, they're of the devil. What they're doing is of the devil. Let me tell you, let me tell you, I suppose many a way. You call a man a Pharisee, and I believe in preaching grace. You know what's funny to me? The people that believe you'd lose your salvation, call them me a Pharisee. And I believe all in grace. A Pharisee is a legalist who claims you go to heaven by how good you live. Anyway, let's go on to something else. The issue is with truth. To be honest, it's not with the preacher. This is why God demands and requires repentance to precede salvation. You have to throw down the shotgun of rebellion ever to get saved. You have to unconditionally surrender to God's authority of his word and say, Lord, you're right, I'm wrong. Everything you say is right, and everything I am probably corrupted, and I'm going to obey you and submit and surrender and quit rebelling. You gotta throw it down and you ain't never gonna get saved. You listen to me this morning, you're here in this building, I'm gonna tell you something right now. You will never get saved until you quit resisting truth. Because you can't come to the knowledge of salvation until you quit resisting the truth. Number two, we gotta go. So people resist the truth by number one, rebelling against the Bible. Number two, the second thing is they resist the truth by resenting holiness. Did you know that your Bible says without holiness, no man shall see the Lord? Now that does not mean that you will never sin. Holiness in its real deal is that it means you are distinct and separated from this world. You're not part of this world system. Holiness has the implication of being brought out of Egypt, separated from the world, unto God. And that'll scan people's hides. You say, Rachel, what are you talking about? The Bible said in verse number three, 2 Timothy three, that they'll be despised. One says, despisers of those that are good. They hate and despise those that submit to God and obey God and live holy and separated and yielded lives to God. How many ever noticed that the abortion crowd hates the pro-life movement? I mean, they hate. They spit on police, they mock modesty, they let the world educate their children, and they despise you if you don't. You go out and try to live clean, and somebody, you get your buddies, and they say, hey, let's go have a couple beers. You say, no, thank you, I don't do that. Why don't you do that? You're not wanting to get into an issue, and you just say, listen, I got saved. I'm trying to live for the Lord, and I just don't do that anymore. Oh, you're a holy roller, are you now? You girls, you're out there, and the girls, once you do something ain't right, and they go, oh, you're a little nun. Oh, look at your dress. You're a little nun now, aren't you? Have the ball team wear decent clothes? Oh, you're out there in your pajamas playing basketball, aren't you, Sid? Come over with us, Sid, and you won't look like an idiot. Yeah. All them women over at Liberty Faith, they all got them denim skirts on. I don't personally like them too well, but I don't care what, you know, I don't care as long as you're modest. I don't care. By the way, you know I don't care if you wear slacks as long as they ain't skin tight as a banjo string. They look like something a woman would wear, not the man would wear. I'm honest with you. There's places I don't want my wife going in the blackberry patch picking blackberries or fixing fence with me with a skirt on and nothing on her feet. I don't want her walking around where copperheads are, not dressed appropriately, okay? I'm not trying to be legalistic. I'm not being a Pharisee about stuff. I'm just saying that we ought to just say, Lord, the best we can, try to do right, be reasonable about it, and not try to be holy and look like we're holy when we're not, but just do it to please the Lord and forget it. It's not complicated! Amen. Oh, please love me while I'm preaching. Please love me. Say, oh, dear God, help him. But I'll tell you something. I always liked that verse, abstain from all appearance of evil. You say, why didn't you go watch that show? Because there's something in it wasn't right. Why don't you listen to that music? It ain't talking about the right stuff. It doesn't glorify God. Abhor evil, the Bible said. They'll mock you and ridicule you. They'll call you an old Pharisee. And they'll scorn you. Number three, the Bible says those that resist the truth will not only be because they rebelled against the Bible and resented holiness, but because they're ruined by the pleasures of this world. The Bible said in that verse four up there, said they'll love lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God. Didn't say they didn't love God, they just love pleasure more than God. So they made a God out of it, put a God above God. I want to tell you something, I love hunting, but I ain't going to hunt on Sunday morning, except before church. Brother Ralph, I always carry a rifle with me to church on deer season. Now listen, I'm not going to be no Pharisee. In my heart of hearts, I always kind of had little twins, Dean, about going hunting on Sunday morning real early, but boy, I tell you, I just wasn't that spiritual. The deer always moved good on Sunday mornings. But I'm saying this to you. What would you think about me if I said, listen, Ralph, would you take care of the servers this morning? I'm deer hunting. And Ralph gets up and says, Reggie said he couldn't be here this morning and said he saw a big old buck and he's chasing it. He says he's on his four-wheeler and that big old buck jumped and he knows it's back over in the backside of the farm somewhere and they're trying to get it. And you knew God would be all right with that. You'd say, something not quite right there. Right? I'm not against four-wheeling. I'm not against camping. But if camping gets to coming between you and the Lord, you ought to quit your camping. Boy, I tell you what. Hey, you're never preaching until they quit saying amen. When they quit saying amen, the preaching's on. I'm not against ball games. But if I've got to take my kids and do things with my kids, and it's going to keep me out of church, it's become I'm loving my pleasure. You know what's amazing to me? I've never seen anything like it. Folks across America will go to a stinking ball game on a concrete bench. I mean, I'm sorry. I'm not talking about wood. I'm talking about concrete. And the ball game starts. And they do this, and they do that, and they do this, and they do that before the ball game ever starts. Man, we're having a good time. They're bringing beer back. Hey, right over here. I wonder why they don't have church services before every ball game. And two hours and three hours later, it goes into overtime, and that concrete bench, yeah, get them, get them, get them. I mean, they don't even know they're sitting on the concrete bench. But they come into church, padded pew, air-conditioned. Is he ever going to get done? Something wrong. Something ain't right. Something ain't right. Anyway, I got to get going. 12, 15, and they're like, anyway. You know why I started preaching? There was an old boy sat back kind of like that. Then I had one lady, she'd go talk, the clock was in the back, in the back of the church. And then she'd turn around and look at me. And then about five minutes later, she'd go. Then she'd turn around and look at me. That makes preaching fun. Amen. Anyway, you say, Reggie, what's wrong? They've been ruined by the pleasure of this world and something, a four-wheeler or a fishing boat or a golf club or a shotgun gets in front of God and then the preacher gets up and preach on it. You ain't never going to come to knowledge of truth as long as you resist it. Number four, Those who resist the truth will do so by rebellion against this book. They'll resent holiness. They'll be ruined by the pleasure of this world, the Bible said in verse five there. But the next thing that, and final thing that will cause you to resist the truth and never come to the knowledge of Christ is religion. The Bible said in verse five they had a form of godliness. You know what a form is? That's a mannequin down at the store. It's a dead something with a suit on it. they'll have the appearance. Religion always resists the truth. You try to tell the gospel to a Mormon, Joseph Smith, Joseph Smith, Joseph Smith. He resists this Bible and embraces Joseph Smith. Talk to a Muslim, Mohammed, Mohammed, Mohammed, Mohammed, Mohammed. Religion always, let me tell you something, I ain't got no kind of religion. I have a savior. I ain't got religion. I have a savior. And I'm going to tell you something, religion always resists the truth of salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. You get a groove. Do you think the devil cares? I'm telling you, do you think the devil cares if you get baptized, come to church till you wore the seat out where you sit, and sing in the choir, and send your kids to a Christian school, and tithe, and come to church every Sunday? You think the devil cares about that? No. He'd love for you to do that and bust hell wide open. Religion will take you to hell. I want to ask you something. Have you been born again? If you don't, you're not going to heaven. Except a man be born again. He cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. Jesus didn't say it'd be a good idea. He said, you must be born again. He said, how do I get born again? Repentant toward God said, dear God, I'm a filthy, nasty, hell-deserving sinner. But I believe Jesus Christ, your son, died on the cross for my sin. And Lord, I'm going to trust that and that alone. I'm not going to trust whether I've been to church, been baptized, been catechized, welded iron soldered. Lord, I'm going to just trust Jesus. Do you know what God will do? God, the Holy Ghost, will birth a new person inside your soul. There'll be a new creature created, born again in the Spirit of God. There'll be a new man. You'll still have the old man, but the new man will be there created in true righteousness and true holiness, and you'll be born again in the Spirit of God. Then he will be your father. Then you will be his son, born again in the Spirit of God. The religion won't give that to you. Friday at the funeral, there were some folks saved. Two of them was a couple from Kansas I found out later. There's some people here, they were here on honor of some other people they knew. The man that's been to parochial school eight years, raised in Catholicism, did not know what the gospel was. Heard the gospel, didn't resist it. Prayed right there, where you're sitting, sister, you and your son. Boy, and quick as I, when I said, if you ask God to save your soul and you believe he did, raise your hand, ka-boom, they went up. Come talk to me down there outside the grave, down at your daddy's graveside, come talk to me about your salvation. Now they're getting fixed up with these folks that they know that was here, they're getting them some Bibles, and I wanna tell you something, because they didn't resist the truth. God saved them. You resist the truth, I'm telling you something that ain't gonna be left for you. You think the devil cares if you act religious? No. I'm gonna tell you something, that man had been to eight years of parochial school or whatever, parochial or whatever you call it. You know what, I'm talking about been to mass so many times he'd lost count. Religion. It causes you to resist the truth. Somebody was telling me the other day, said they talked to a man, I believe 60-some or 70-some years old, goes to mass every Tuesday. sits there every Tuesday and asks God to save him again. Does not read the Bible, takes it to the Mass, but never reads the Bible. Told him flat out, no, we do not read the Bible. Religion will cause you to resist the truth, the knowledge of the truth. these false churches and false clergies and people marrying sodomites and hiding, you've got these churches hiding. He said, oh man, the other day I got a call from down, I believe it's in Carolina. Yeah, it's one of the Carolinas. Preacher said, Reggie, I got a problem. I said, what is it? He said, Reggie, I got a Hispanic couple coming to my church. And he said, Reggie, they're the most enthused blessing. He said, they're such a blessing. They got saved, family got saved. He said, Reggie, they're just the greatest blessing you was ever about. He said, they come one day, said, want to know about joining the church? And he said, I said, well, now y'all legal, ain't you? And he said, boy, he said, I saw their faces go, he said, I knew the second I said it, there's trouble there. And they said, we're not legal, but our kids are, because they were born. He said, Reggie, I'll tell you what, I was like, I've never hit that before in my life. I said, what am I gonna do? I said, there ain't but one thing for you to do, and that's do right. I said, you need to tell them that you will help them to go try to get their immigration papers and become citizens of the United States. But if they don't, they need to leave the country. What are we going to do as preachers? Tell everybody else to obey God and we're going to violate the laws of the land. We're going to hide criminals. Well, who are we going to do? Hide the methamphetamine makers and hide the drug heads and hide all that stuff. Is that what we're going to do? Our kids got a meth lab over at his house and we know it. We're not telling God about it. We're not telling the cops about it. Huh? We know our kids got a marijuana patch on the backside of the farm over there and we're not going to tell the police about it. I said, love them. Put your arms around that couple. He said, I'll tell you what, I'll do everything I can to help you become legal and make you a citizen of this nation, but we're not going to sit here and lie against our government, lie against God, and be crooks and dishonest and claim to be a church. Things always ain't easy, are they, folks? They're not always easy. I'm going to tell you something. These false churches, these contemporary hell holes, I wanna tell you about what Jesus would do if he's come back again. He'd walk in the average church in America, and this is, honest to God, this is what I believe he'd do. I believe he'd walk up on the stage, he'd take them mic cords, braid them up into a whip, knock the first mic over he's seen up there, turn the drum set upside down, throw that electric piano off the pulpit, go back and turn the CD table and the trinket table over. Woo, ain't we having a good time today? Religion. Make not mine house a den of thieves. Make not my house a rock and roll concert hall. Make not my house a house of merchandise. Make not my house dark as a beer joint. I believe he went and turned the lights on too, some of these churches. I got so much to preach on, I gotta roll. It's 12.45, no, it's 1.45, I'm sorry. Let me tell you, preachers here and you boys that God may call to preach something, you listen to me. You expect it. From Abel to the end of the Bible, every person who stood on the blood and obeyed God's word, they wanted to kill. hate his guts. That's a whole nother thing. You say, Reggie, what happens to a man, the danger of resisting the truth? I'm going to tell this to you and you'll go home. Verse number eight will tell you. Look at it with me. Now as Janus and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth. Here it comes. They resist the truth. Men of corrupt minds. There it is. Reprobate. Reprobate. Is there any, what's reprobation? It's when you don't, you can't believe the truth. And if you want to read about it, we're not going to take time this morning, Romans chapter one, it says this, men working with men, that which is unseemly, women with women. going against nature, sodomite world, sodomite crowd, evolution crowd. You can read all about it in Romans chapter one. And God says that because they would not accept the truth, because they would acknowledge the truth, he said, I will turn them over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convenient. And he said, those people will stand flat footed and argue with you about solid revealed truth and say the Bible's wrong. Let me give you the greatest example of it. New Bibles. Anybody knows that somebody telling the truth cannot tell two stories. But you get up on your hind legs and say, I believe the authorized King James Bible, that old Bible our grandpas had as the Word of God, preserved and inspired of God, settled forever in heaven. And I'll tell you what they'll do. They'll start demonizing you, getting ready to crucify you. And what's bad about it is you'll go to hell thinking you're going to heaven. This country is full of reprobation. And it's full of reprobation because they've resisted the truth. And once you resisted the truth, I don't believe this is the Bible anymore. and you embrace those other Bibles, you're on your way to reprobation if God and His mercy don't turn you around. And if it doesn't get you, it's going to get your descendants. Because you're walking toward reprobation. Every time you and your family resist the truth, you're walking another step closer to reprobation. And I want to tell you right now, a reprobate man has gone to hell, and he ain't there yet. But he's already sentenced. You don't ever hear in the Bible of a reprobate ever getting saved. That's why people get after me about saying sodomites can't hardly get saved. Very rarely will a sodomite really get saved. Because most of them already reprobate. I believe they can if they're not reprobate. But if they've resisted the truth so long, God said, I will turn them over and I will give them out to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convenient. They'll think right's wrong, wrong's right. And they'll go to hell believing they were right. Let's stand. Now, I want everybody listening real good. I've been praying while I've been preaching. I'm not gonna give an invitation in the way that you might normally consider an invitation today, but I am giving an invitation. I'm not gonna have no piano playing, not gonna have you ask anybody to come forward. We're gonna pray and I'm gonna dismiss you. But I'm giving you an invitation to Jesus Christ and the cross. I'm giving you an invitation to acknowledge the truth that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven, that this Bible's right, this Bible's true, and whether Reg Kelly ever lives up to it or not, it's still truth. You know what, folks? Listen to me, listen to me. If Reg Kelly got up next Sunday morning and said, I don't believe nothing no more, and throwed the Bible over the trash can and walked out of the church, it's still the truth! What I want you to do right now. Now if you're lost here today and you're lost or you're listening via the internet or whatever, I'm telling you right now, God'll save you right where you stand. God'll save you right where you're sitting. What you need to do is right now and say, God, be merciful to me, a sinner. Lord, God of heaven, I'm going to hell. I'm tired of resisting the truth. I'm tired of fighting you. I'm tired of fighting the truth, rebelling. I'm tired of putting everything else toward God. Lord, I want you to save me today. I want you to wash me clean with the blood of Jesus Christ. I'm placing my faith in that shed blood that he died for me on the cross and rose in the grave. And Lord, I'm placing my faith in Christ, not in how good I'll ever be. God will save you right where you're at. Maybe you're wrestling. Maybe you're a fighting. Maybe you just need to go home and get along with God. Get back here in the bedroom somewhere, back out there in the yard. Sit down and say, Lord, it's time you had a talk. Lord, I've been resisting you for all these years, and I've wanted a religion that suited my way. I wanted a religion that let me do what I wanted to do, and I wanted to pick and choose, dear Lord. But God, I'm putting down the shotgun of rebellion today, and Lord, I'm gonna throw up the white flag of repentance. Lord, save me by the grace of God through the blood of Jesus Christ. Oh, I hope you'll do that today. Now, I'm going to tell you something. I've been the mailman, and I just came by your place. I'm shutting the door of the mailbox, and I'm moving on down the road. What you do with this message is between you and God Almighty. And may God bless you with the grace of God and the mercy of God not to resist the truth so that you don't become a reprobate and lay on your deathbed and say, don't talk to me about God. Because you've resisted the truth so long, God gave you up and over to a reprobate mind. My father in heaven, we love you. I thank you, Lord, for the truth. And Jesus, you said you should know the truth and the truth shall make you free. And though my body is tired and my soul is weary and my spirit is grieved over the loss of my daddy, I am happy in the Lord because God, the same spirit that lived in and worked in me while my daddy was here, he is still here this morning with me. And Lord, I praise your holy name. that I'm not in hell, and that there was a day when you came to me and convicted me that I was a hypocritical, wicked, low-down, hell-deserving sinner. And God, you told me, Jesus, your son died for you, for me, Lord. And I thank you, Lord, for that. And I praise you, God, that you brought me to acknowledge the truth that I was a sinner and I needed to be saved, that my righteousness would never do it. Oh, dear Lord, today, I want to thank you for that. Now, Lord, we pray that you'd bless these people. Bless the lost with salvation. Bless the saved with sanctification. Bless them, God, with joy and peace and gladness. Lord, we love you today. You've been so good.
