is the significance of the blood. And I think it's something that we can't We can't belittle it, we can't go without it. There's a lot of things out there where they know the name Jesus. I was not raised in a home where I even knew the name of Jesus, nor definitely did not know about the blood of Jesus. But there's a lot of people out there that know the name, and they know the person, Jesus, they know of God, but they have denied the blood that was shed. And on the day when the Lord comes to take home the bride, they're going to be sadly disappointed that they didn't have something that they needed. And that's the thought that the Lord's put on my heart here this evening, is the significance of it. So we're going to start in the Old Testament. We're going to go over to the New Testament. This Old Testament, we can stay seated this evening. We do have a lot of Scripture to cover over. And I don't think, don't really need to get the point across. I was thinking on the way here, there's a lot of things that I'm not 100% sure of. And there's a lot of things that... You can talk to somebody and they might be able to persuade you, but one thing that I am absolutely 100% sure of in my heart is that we need to have the blood of Jesus Christ. And I would not move on that. Nobody can talk me out of that. They can try all day long, and I will stand on that, that unless you've applied His blood, that you will be rejected. So we'll start reading here this evening in Exodus chapter number 12. And this is the Passover. And we're going to read here about it. This isn't where the message is coming from. We're just going to start here and get a little bit of significance, and then we're going to go over to the New Testament. In Exodus chapter number 12, in verse number 1, and it said, And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, This month shall be unto you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you. Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for a house. And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls. Every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. You shall take it out from the sheep or from the goats, and you shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month, and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. And they shall take the blood and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire and unleavened bread, and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire, his head with his legs, and with the puritance thereof. And you shall let nothing of it remain until the morning, and that which remaineth of it until the morning you shall burn with fire. And thus shall you eat, with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand, and you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord's Passover. For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and I will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast, and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment. I am the Lord, and the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you when I smite the land of Egypt. And this day shall be unto you for a memorial, and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations. Ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance forever." And we'll stop reading there in the book of Exodus, and I'll go to the Lord in prayer, and I ask that you pray for me. It is my desire that the truth go forth. from the scripture, and that's what I ask that you pray for me, is that I would deliver the truth. Dear Lord, we are thankful for this opportunity, Lord, you've given us to come to church again. Lord, on this day, Lord, I thank you for, Lord, the day that you have given us and the service this morning. I thank you for the message that went forth. And Lord, I pray that you would help me today. Lord, this evening, Lord, I ask that you would just preach through me tonight. Lord, I do pray, Lord, that you would have the gospel to go forth. Lord, I pray that it would land on fertile ground. And Lord, I pray, Lord, that it would be a reminder to us, Lord, that our saved, and Lord, that it would be a conviction for those that are not. Lord, I just ask that you would help us this evening. In your name, in the name of Jesus, I pray, Lord. Amen. All right. Like I said, that's not where the message is coming from, but what I was thinking today is, you know, I got to thinking about, and my heart hurts for the people that are in false doctrine churches, that they will play, and if you talk to them, they will acknowledge Jesus, and they will acknowledge that He is the Savior of the world, But what they don't acknowledge is that you don't have to have the blood and to be born again. They acknowledge that He was a good person, but then they also acknowledge that they can do something, that as long as they acknowledge that, that they can work their way and they can work out the rest of the details, and that is salvation. But that's false, and we know that. from where we're going to go in the Scripture, that unless, as we read here this evening, what do you suppose would have happened had they not have put the blood on the doorpost? There was a direct commandment from the Lord to put the blood of that lamb on the doorpost, and He would pass over them. That was to be a sign for the Lord to pass over. Now, they didn't have to do that. They could have killed the lamb. and they could have ate it, and they could have denied the fact that they had to put the blood on there, and somebody would have had a lost life in that household if we kept reading that the Lord would have, that the destroyer would have taken a life out of that house, one of the firstborn. So, as we start thinking about salvation of the Lord, You know, if we were just to acknowledge that Jesus was here, and that He was a good person, and then that was it, and then we just went about life, and we said, well, this is just what the Scripture says, as long as we acknowledge it, and He was just a good person, then that's false. We have got to have, very important, like I said before, I would not waver on the fact that we have to have the blood of Jesus Christ on our souls in order to be saved. And I believe that anyone that's been born again is not going to back down from that. A born-again Christian is going to stand on the fact that the blood of Jesus Christ is very important. So flip over with me, if you would, to the book of Hebrews, and this is where we'll be taking the message from, Hebrews chapter number 9. And there is a whole lot of Scripture in here that we're going to be just going over, To get to the other end of the point, we're going to read it all the way through. We're not going to be going through and preaching the whole thing, but there's some very good points on both ends of it, not to do damage to the Lord, but with what the Lord's put on my heart, we're going to be covering quite a lot of Scripture. So, in Hebrews chapter number 9, In verse number 11, it says, But Christ, being come in high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building, neither the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. We shouldn't have to read a whole lot farther than that this evening for you to know that you've got to believe on the blood of Jesus Christ. For if the blood of bulls and of goats and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean sanctifyeth the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the New Testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the First Testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of a testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead, otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood, for when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats with water, and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book and all the people, saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you. Moreover, he sprinkled the blood, both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood, and without shedding of blood is no remission. So we see in verse number 22 that if Jesus had come to this earth and lived that perfect sinful life, had He not shed His blood, we would not be able to have that remission of sin. But once we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, once we believe on His blood, we have that full remission. We have that full redemption. He has completely forgiven us from the time the world began until the time the world has ended. He has completely wiped away sin by His blood. So we see that if He had just come and lived that life, was not crucified, we would not be able to have that redemption. Now let's keep reading in verse number 23. It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ is not entered into the figures of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us. Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entered into the holy place every year with blood of others. For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world. But now, once in the end of the world, he hath appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many, and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." I heard here a while back a man was commenting and saying that basically what he said was he had to be born again, Every single day. That every day you had to wake up, and that's what He said. Every day you had to receive salvation from the Lord. Every morning you woke up. He said that that was a new day. And every day you had to die to self, you had to put on Christ anew every single day. And it didn't, it was actually, it was on the radio and it didn't take me long to go ahead and just turn that right on off. But Christ only one time. One time He suffered for all sin. So when we get born again, it is one time. When we repent one time and we believe on Him one time, we receive eternal life. And like I said, you can go to a lot of different places that don't believe on the blood. And it's sad that they are so close. People are really trying, they want to be born again. They have a desire to go to heaven, but they don't have the truth that you have to have the blood. What a horrible place. I'd rather be where I was, a drunkard, bound to hell, than to be sitting there thinking what I was doing was good. I knew that there was nothing that was going to get me nowhere. But I have a heart for people that are in false doctrine. But how are they going to get out of that? There's got to be a way for the Gospels got to go forth. There's got to be a way for those people to see that what they're almost getting is not too far. If they could just get a hold of the precept of the blood. In chapter number 10, we're going to keep reading on here for a little bit more. It says, You read too much scripture, sometimes people's minds start wondering. There's a very good point not too far down the scripture from here, so just stay with me if you would. "...For the law, having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers therein too perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered, because that the worshipers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins." But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore, when he cometh into the world, he sayeth, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldst not, but a body that hast prepared me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come in the volume of the book it is written of me, to do thy will, O God. Above, when he said, Sacrifice and offering, and burnt offerings, and offering for sin, thou wouldst not, neither hadst any pleasure therein, which are offered by the law. Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. But the witch will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily, ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this man after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God, from henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified, whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us. For after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord. I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them, and their sins and inequities will I remember no more." Now, where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. Now, go back up with me, if you would, to verse number 9. It says, "...then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the witch will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." So, once and for all, we are sanctified through the offering of the body. We're not sanctified by going to church. It's a good thing. We're not sanctified because I went out and never committed a sin. We're not sanctified because mom and dad was raised in the church, and they were saved, and I believe that the Lord saved the whole house. It is a personal, absolute personal relationship between each individual person and the Lord. So if you're... If you've been going to church for 60 years, say you thought you got saved when you were six, but you didn't. And now, you come to a spot where you're maybe too prideful, and you say, well, there is absolutely no way that I could ever stand in front of a congregation and tell them that what I said was a lie. You see, God doesn't play games. So, what some people might do, they might hide the fact, They know in their heart, but then somehow they think that they're going to hide from the Lord Jesus Christ until He comes. They're going to think, well, I'll just get through one day. And when I was a lost person, I remember it was absolutely day by day. It was a struggle to get from one day to the next day, being balled up in sins. You couldn't, just that feeling, just the bondage that you couldn't get out of. Just like you're packing around a backpack with a lot more weight than you can handle. It just wears you down. And about the time you think you're getting going again, you just come along and you get whipped down again. But then the gospel gets preached. And you believe the gospel. And you apply the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ upon your soul. And that, my dear friend, that is when you can have a purpose. Every single day you wake up, You have something, the Lord gives you something that you can be joyful for, thankful for. So we have something that we can work for, and that something is eternal life. We know, hey, today doesn't really matter, because the Lord might return tomorrow. And once the Lord returns, all this dust is going to be... It ain't going to matter. Not one bit of it that's going to matter. So we need to proclaim the blood We need to not back down from the blood. When people argue it, they say, well, I think there's a different way. Or they say, well, I think you've got to put it on every day. You can go to a whole lot of scriptures and say no. Once and for all, it was once. So tonight, let's look back. This has been definitely a reminder to me, to look back as I read in the Old Testament, about the token, that that was a token for them. And as we think, you know, fast forward into the New Testament, that day is a token for us to look back on and say, hey, the blood was applied. The blood, not that it was, it still is. But the blood has been applied. So we have that token. We don't have to... I don't know about you, but I've never once, never once since I've been saved, have I felt the desire, I've never felt the Lord tell me, but I had to get born again, again, not one time. There's been some times along the way where I said, sheesh, I don't know if I'm doing 100% right, but never once has the Lord said that, not one time. And I think if you look back, you remember what that day of conviction was, what that hour, what the months of conviction was, and it's a good place to be. But I'm thankful that the Lord has saved my soul. I hope you're there tonight. If not, if you're a young person and maybe you grew up in a home and Jesus has been a part of it, you've heard about Him, but you've never came to the part where you have to believe. You've never realized that there actually is a day when you have to apply the shed blood of Jesus Christ on Calvary to your soul. You say, well, how serious is that? Well, so if you don't, I'm not trying to scare anybody, if you don't, if you reject it, and let's say the Lord returns tomorrow, and the Lord comes back, and you rejected Him today, the Lord comes back tomorrow, what do you think is going to happen if you ain't got the blood of Jesus Christ put on your soul? Do you think that you're going to be able to look at the Lord and say, I heard it, but I was waiting until today. He might have come a little bit early, you know, maybe, why don't you go eat lunch or something and come back? The Lord might come before we're done. It is that serious, my friend. You have got, when you hear the gospel, you have got to obey. And it is simple enough that if you confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, you say, I know that your blood that you shed on Calvary is all I need. And I believe that you're sitting in heaven on the right hand of God making intercession for me. And I ask that you save my unworthy soul. My dear friend, that's as easy as it gets. A lot of times the flesh gets in the way. A lot of times you sit down. Preachers will do it. You'll sit down, you'll think of every single word that you need to say in a message. It ain't going to be there. You sit down, you think of exactly what you're going to say, you might scheme something up in your mind for a week. And I did it. Come up with the words I needed to say, came up with the place I needed to pray. I tried it two or three times and the Lord wouldn't be found. Until one day I was out riding my old four-wheeler and the Lord said, hey, I ain't going to save you until you look to me. You quit trying it and I'll save you. And it was that simple. I said, all right. I stopped that forerunner right there. I got off of it. I repented. I called upon the Lord. And that is where I got born again. Once and for all. And I thank Him for it. If you can't thank Him for it today, I pray that you would, my dear friend, get born again. You are not promised another day. You are not promised another breath. We're not promised another year. All that we are promised is right now. We've been promised this breath. But we're breathing, and we need to be thankful for that. So in closing, I'd just like to ask you, have you applied the blood to search your hearts? You know. You think you're going to hide? There's absolutely no hiding from the Lord. He knows the hairs on our head. He knows more about us than we do. But we can try. We can pretend. But the Lord knows. He knows the truth. So in closing, we'll have an altar of prayer this evening. It might have been a little short, but that's all right. We'll have an altar of prayer if you would come put a song together. And I ask the old, the young, man knows no heart, but God does. And if you're here and you're up in age, and you say, I've been living a lie, maybe there's none here. But if you have been, I beg you dear friend, you better get it straight. You had better go do some business with the Lord. And she plays, let's all stand, heads bowed, eyes closed.
