For church times, the next Sunday is going to be a little different. We are going to have our sunrise service. It says 730. But we'll tell you 7 o'clock, so that you're not here at 8.45. Okay? We will start probably at 7.30, but if you want to get here at 7 o'clock, you know, get set up or whatever, that would be good. Rain or shine, but you know, if it's raining, I have the insight. If it's cold, we're still going to have it outside, just wearing a jacket. And there will be no Sunday school for next Sunday. Our morning worship will be at 11 a.m. And we will be doing the Colossal Cross. And community. And community. It will be the community and the Council of Cross. And you can pick up your black bags either in a bag up here or in the foyer. And what that is, is that money will be going to Samaritan's Purse. And as Sister Cheryl said, whenever these storms hit Cartersville, Samaritan's Purse was one of the first ones out there to help. So that's money going to a good cause. It's 30 pieces of silver, which represents our sins and what Judas Iscariot sold Jesus out for. So, and as you hang those on the cross, those bags on the cross, it's amazing how we see the cross turned off for our sins. So that's something we do every Easter and that money is going to a good cause. And of course we will not be having services Sunday night, or tonight, or next Sunday. Monday night, our corporate prayer time will be at 7 o'clock, wherever you are, whatever you're doing, just take a couple minutes out. And we have much to be praying for in our country, our church, our families, our communities. And we just have so much to be praying for. And so just join in. You know, God here is more than a prayer dispenser. But he hears a whole bunch of prayers. A whole lot of prayers. Amen. He loves it. And he knows when we all get together and pray like that, Satan trickles. That's the power of prayer. Amen. He knows there's nothing he can do about it. And that whatever we are coming to give of God for us, to God for us, God's going to manage it and save him some. So, that's just a little text for about a quarter of a prayer. So, that's Monday nights at 7 o'clock. Wednesday night at 7 o'clock we fellowship all. Come and join Brother Bob Carroll as he will be teaching us. in an open forum about the Bible. It's a Bible study, and it's not just you have to sit there and listen to him. It's one that you can participate in. And that's what makes it so much better, because sometimes, I'm sure he'll tell you, he learns from what you see. So you can sit at 7 o'clock on Wednesday night, and also from there, you can be on Facebook Live on Wednesday nights. And let's see, birthdays. We got brother Jen Jenkins. Gene Jenkins. Looks like Jim. And let's see, who's this little here? Harold Bailey, on the 31st. And I already know who I'm going to meet. So let's sing Happy Birthday to Brother Harold. Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday God bless you, happy birthday to you and many more. And also let's be in memory of Brother Clarence Westbrook who passed away on April the 1st, 2009. Anybody got any other announcements? Oh, and as a last second thing, I'll be with the Sunrise Service tomorrow, or sooner, or later. As soon as I'm with them. I may just have to be like Brother Richie, just stay in Palm Mountain long enough that I'll be up. Any other indulgences? Anybody? Let's keep the family in our prayers for the loss and passing of his uncle Don. Has anybody heard any more on the arrangements? I kept seeing it was still... Let's stand while we read those few verses. You got a different message for me here today. About Easter, we get it. Not about Easter. And it says in that 16th verse, a little while, and you shall not see me. And again, a little while, and you shall see me, because I give you the power. Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that He said unto us, a little while, and ye shall not see me, and again a little while, and ye shall see me? And because I live in the Father. They said, therefore, what is that He said, a little while? We can now tell what he said. Now Jesus knew that it was ours to ask him and said unto them, do you inquire among yourselves of that which I said a little while, and ye shall not see me? And again a little while, and ye shall see me, and ye shall see me? Verily I say unto you, you shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice. And ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. A woman, when she is in travail, hath sorrow, because her hour is come. But as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish or joy that a man has borne in the world. And ye now, therefore, have sorrowed, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no end taketh from you. Amen. Father, we thank you, Lord, for the reading of the Word of God and, Lord, for your man as he stands bowing before us this morning. Make it, Lord, just very easy for him, Lord, as his mouth would just open and out it comes, Lord, with a mighty message. that Lord that will go forth that each and every one of us can take with us and apply and Lord also share with those that were with this coming days whatever you permit us to be and to do that we give adoration, exaltation, glory, And praise our Lord and Savior for what you have done for us on the cross of Calvary. Thank you, Father, for our brother in Christ, Brother Davey Kahn. And Lord, just lift him up and use him mightily in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Now, everybody knows that Friday's a good Friday. And Sunday is Easter. But what about Saturday? Have you ever thought about that? That day in between? You see, on a person's tombstone, it gives their name, the year they were born and the year they died. That dash in the middle. You know what that dash is? The most important thing. It's time. You've heard that before? Well, Jesus is telling the disciples here, a little while, and they will not see him, and then in a little while, and they will mourn and be sorrowful, and then yet a little while, and they will see him again, and they will be glad and joyous. A little while. That was that Saturday. That Saturday between that he's talking about here, says you will, in a little while, you ain't gonna see me again, but then in a little while again, you'll see me again, right? That second a little while that he's got here in this passage is he's talking about that Saturday between Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday, right? That second a little while is that Saturday, a day that I call Summer Saturday. Think about that. The word somber is oppressively solemn or sober in mood, grave. Some of the adjectives for it are solemn, earnest, serious, brave, sober, unsmiling, stern, grim, humorless, gloomy, depressed, sad, melancholy, dismal, mournful, joyless, cheerless, dark, and dull. Does that sound like the Saturday that the disciples are going to be going through between Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday? That sounds like it to me. Amen. It was not a joyful time for them. It was dark. It was gloomy. As we know, when Jesus died on the cross, the skies turned dark. The earth quaked. And some say it even began to rain and storm. It was a dark time in our world. It was a darker time even for these asylums. That's sad. Imagine that. The man that you believe to be the king of king and lord of lords and the savior of the world is dead. Dead. Gone. We don't see him anymore. Imagine the depression that came over those disciples whenever it looked like all hope was lost because the hope of the world has just died on the cross and buried in a tomb. Amen. All hope seemed to be lost. And they were especially in a particularly bad situation here because the Jews hated them. You see, after that, they went and hid in the upper room and stayed there for a period of years. They were afraid. They were sad. They were broken hearted. What are they going to do next? Are they going to have to return back to their fishing nets and go back to fishing or whatever they were doing before? Well, they're going to have to return to that. What is it? This is what they believe now. The one that they believe in and the one that they follow is dead and gone. But he had told them before, time and time again, I'm going to die and I'm going to rise again. Still kind of have that doubt in your mind, don't you? It kind of sounds like something, it's like when Noah said it was going to rain the first time that it rained, and there was going to flood the earth, people stopped that. It would have been 40 nights. It would have been 40 days or 40 nights it rained. And sometimes it seems like we're in that position too where it seems like it's going to keep on the rain. But anyway, I call it soccer Saturday. It is that a little while That second one that he's talking about there, that is that Saturday between Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday. It's that time where all the world was gloomy and things just didn't look good for the disciples or any of the followers of Christ. Those who believed in him, it didn't look good. What's going to happen then? We don't have our leader anymore. Are the Jews going to come and throw us in jail? Are they going to kill us? What's going to happen? Are we going to try to go back and then pick up our business as we did before and go back to fishing but nobody's going to buy from us because we believed in you? What's going to happen? Our whole life. And how many times have we been in a bit like that in our life? That our whole life is going to be turned upside down. And it is. And it is. And see, in that little while, a thing came to be born. A thing came to be born. But look at this right here. Mark 16, and Luke 24, 9-11, you can go back and turn there if you don't want to, but if you do, that's fine as well. In Mark, I'm going to read both of these back to back. Mark 16, chapter 10, or chapter 16, verses 10-13, says, And she went and told them, and this is Mary Magdalene, after she'd gone to the, gone to the subalter and found it in them. And she went and told them that had been with him as they mourned and wept. And they, when they had heard that he was alive and had been seen of her, believed not. After that, he appeared in another four, one or two of them as they walked and went into the country. And that's the two men on the road in a little mess. And they went and told it to the residue. Neither believe they did. Three people had come to the silence. And told them, guess what? What Jesus said he was going to do, he did. And they didn't believe him. Salute. Chapter 24, verse 9-11 says this, "...and returned from the sculpture and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest, it was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with him, which told these things unto the apostles." So we've got more than three people telling you, guess what? And there were seen to them as idle tales, and they believed them not." Imagine that. Jesus, whom they believed to be the Son of God, and believed that all power of God had been given to Him, and had followed Him and listened to Him, and He said that He was going to die and rise again, whenever it come down to it, they didn't believe it. They didn't believe it. They were mourning, and they were weeping, and they were scared. And we all get that way in our lives at times. We have situations come up in our lives where we know joy and peace, and then something happens, and we become fearful, sorrowful, and worried. And it seems like God's not around. So they didn't see Jesus here. They didn't see the Son of God. They couldn't see Him. They couldn't hear Him. They couldn't talk to Him. They were scared. They were hurt. They were mourned. It said they were mourned and they wept. And they just didn't believe that He was back to life. I don't have resurrection war. You see, at times in our lives, that happens to us. We just say, where are you? Where are you? Got all this stuff going on, we get a bad report from the doctor, a bad report from the doctor, from one of our loved ones. We lose someone or something happens, we lose our job, our finances are just turned upside down. Our whole world is turned upside down and we're worried and we're scared. We're in that a little while. You know why he says it's a little while? Because Jesus is not dead. He's alive. He's well. And for just a little while, we may have to go through some trials and tribulations. But guess what? In just a little while, the sun's coming back up again, and it'll be Sunday morning. And as Jesus resurrected, come out of that grave on that resurrection morning, he will resurrect your situation no matter what it is. Can you believe that? The disciples didn't, but you can because you have his promise. You've seen through God's word what Jesus did. Let me show you this right here. In John, Chapter 20, verse 19 says, Then the same day and evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut and the cycles were singled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus, who stood in the midst. Amen. And he saith unto them, Peace be unto you. And when he had so said, he showed them his hands, and his son. Then were the disciples glad when they saw the Lord. Then he said unto them again, Peace be unto you. Here they are on that darkest, gloomiest day of their lives. And they followed this man for three years. And they believed him. He was dead and gone. And they said, no, we don't believe, Dr. Wild, we're in big trouble. We don't believe anything's happening. We're in big trouble. The Jews hate us. And because of that, we're scared. And the man that we love so much and believe so much in is gone with us. But Jesus just said one. He said, only one. that he didn't say forever. And whenever Jesus showed back up, they believed, and they were going to give all peace to him. You see, in our lives so many times we go through these things, but I'm here to tell you that no matter what you're going through or what you're going to go through or what you've been through, if you look back throughout your life, you'll say, I went through some bad things, but it was only for just a little while. Because then the sun come up, and everything was resurrected. I was broke. I didn't know how I was going to pay the bill. I didn't know how I was even going to get to work. And guess what? I've got plenty of money now. Because Jesus showed up. See, whenever he was in that grave, whenever he was out, away from them, out of their sight and out of their mind, they couldn't talk to him, they couldn't see him. They couldn't hear him. Guess what? Jesus was busy. He wasn't laying there on a slab, swallowing dirt, being dead. He was busy. You know how I know? Because the Bible said it. At that point, he went down, and he went down to Satan, and he took the keys and everything, and he led the way through. Also, he led the captive. Amen. He was working. He wasn't dead. He may have left this body, but he was still on the job. You see, in our situation, where we think all hope is lost, guess what? Hope is not lost in here. Hope is in Jesus Christ. He will show you through. And guess what? The sun will come up tomorrow. Amen. You know, a few years ago, we had an Easter weekend that I thought was absolutely typical. I guess you could say the perfect illustration at First Resurrection Sunday, because it stormed bad on Friday night. The whole Saturday was overcast and just gloomy all night. But you know what? We had our sunrise service out here, and guess what? You couldn't have had a more beautiful sunrise than on the road to the valley. Amen. And that is how it is in our lives. Don't be stuck in a little while. That summer Saturday, whenever everything seems gloomy, look to the future because that's where Jesus is. He's with you in your situation. Whenever it seems like he's not around, whenever he's not there talking to us, whenever it seems like we can't seem to get a prayer through, like God's not listening, guess what? He's working on it. He's already working on it. All you have to do is look for the sunrise. I guarantee you, and I'm sure everybody in this church can sit there and say, gee, I remember a time in my life when I didn't know what I was gonna do. I got a bad report from the doctor about my son, or my daughter, or myself, or my wife, or my husband, or I just didn't know how I was going to feed the family. I'm sure y'all have been there before. I've looked at it in my pocket and said I've got $10 of money in there. I don't even know if I was going to have enough gas money to get back and forth to work this week. But you know what? I made it. I didn't even walk. I made it. But if I bought a football and I was down in my bottom, guess what? Jesus was looking at me. And I never had that situation again. I made it. Whenever I thought nothing could happen, nothing was going to help me, what was I going to do? Jesus was busy working on it already. It may have been Saturday, it may have been just a little while, but I'm going to tell you boy, it was just a little while. He doesn't use these words lightly in his passion. Whenever he says, just a little while, he means just a little while. It may seem like it's going to take forever, or it may seem like to us it's a long time. But then again, some of us sit at a red light and think that red light's a long time. And it's really only a minute long. But it seems like we sit there forever, because we don't have patience. And guess what? Have no patience. Do not live like a disciple. Don't believe in Jesus, but believe Him. Because what he says he will do, he will do. Listen to what in Deuteronomy 31, 6 and 8 and Joshua 1 and 5, God says he will never leave us or forsake us. That is a promise from God, and this promise is fulfilled through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ being the Son of God, fully God and fully man, He fulfills all of God's promises to us. This may be a promise from God, but it means Jesus too. And whatever He said, as He is the Son of God, all God's promises to us are fulfilled through Jesus Christ. Just as the cross is now buried and the tomb is empty, so can we believe and trust that God has not forsaken or left us. In our time of need, in our darkest situation, in our gloominess, in our somberness. When we see all hope is lost, And we thank God, hope is lost, and all is gone. Looked on the resurrection. Amen. Because you know what? The Son of Man is dead. And as he resurrected, Adelaide Vernon, as he arose, he will resurrect your situation, whether it be your health, your bodies, whatever your situation is. When we have had problems in our lives, just as the society did on summer Saturday, when they mourned, wept, and feared for their lives, and felt all alone, it was only a little while, and Jesus returned to them, and they rejoined. Amen. Did you hear that? Hear what I read in the Bible here? They said they were weeping, and they were speaking. They were weeping, and more of them were speaking. But when Jesus shone it back up, and when that Resurrection Son of Man broke the arrow, he brought them peace. Amen. And they enjoyed the peace again. And you know what? It was just for a little while. So no matter what happens in our lives, it will only be for a little while. Amen. And Jesus will reveal to us why He has been up to Him. That's all we can do. That reminds me of that saying, when we're down and undone, then God is up to something. Amen. Just a little while. Yeah. Through your trials and tribulations. Yeah. And Jesus is going to show you what he's been up to. Amen. The whole time you were worrying, he was working. Don't give up at being despairing when situations come in your life. Because when we can't see him, he's still alive and well. Just like on that somber Saturday, when they thought he was dead, and all answered, Jesus was alive and well. Amen. He is today, and he will be forever. No matter what you're gonna do, or you're gonna do, carry this message with you and think, next time, And so it happens in your life. When things get dark, when things get gloomy, when you just think there's no way out, just remember, my Lord and Savior is alive and well and working. And when that soda comes up, I'll see if it needs to be milked again. Listen to that bubble pop. Just unbelievable. That's all I have.
