Revelation, and we're going over the point in time here, Revelation chapter 4, how it ties together in the practical application unto us in our life today. And so we're looking at it in this way. We're titling this, or subtitling this, if you will, The Shout. This is The Shout. And what we saw last week, number one, is we're tying it in together with 1 Corinthians chapter 15. And I'll read our opening text just by way of review, if you will, Revelation chapter 4 verse 1. The Bible says, And after this I looked, and behold, a door was opened in heaven. The first voice which I heard was as it were a trumpet talking with me, which said, Come up hither, and I will show thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately it was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. Father in heaven, we do pray that you give us special blessings tonight. Bless the reading of thy word to our hearts and our ears this evening. Open up our understanding, dear God, to the scripture. Father, we're not looking to go lengthy this evening. We are looking tonight to finish off this period of time that we're all looking forward to, this blessed hope, this rapture the church have taken us out of here so that we may be with you forever. Lord God, we do look forward to that day. But we don't dread the time that we're here. We thank you for the blessing of allowing us to be alive in this world that you've given us to be a light and to a shining dark place. Lord, we love you now and we thank you in Jesus' name. Amen and amen. The first point that we looked at last week is we're tying together Revelation 4 verses 1 and 2 with 1 Corinthians chapter 15. was in verse 51 we showed the mystery Paul says I behold I show you a mystery we shall not all sleep but we all but we shall all be changed that is the mystery it was hidden from everyone prior to the Apostle Paul it was the Apostle Paul that received that mystery more than likely received it same time he received the revelation of the mystery of the church, the local New Testament church, will be made up of both Jews and Gentiles. The body of Christ is made up of saved Jews and saved Gentiles. Jews are not safe. They need to be saved today just in the same manner that you and I had to be saved by trusting in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. The next thing we looked at last week is found in verse 52 of our text, verse 52 of our text, and that was called the moments. We had the mystery first, verse 51, Then we have the moment, verse 52, the moment is a twinkling of an eye, and that is one second, one to the negative 45th power of a second. That's how quick we will all be changed. That's how quick it's going to happen first with the dead in Christ, and then it's going to happen with those that are alive and remain. Some teach that it will be lengthy period of time between the rising of the dead, that are in the grave and then being changed, and the mortal putting on immortality. And that's just not true. It's going to happen so quick that we probably, I would say we wouldn't know, definitely no one else is going to know the difference. It's going to be in the twink of an eye. So that's the moment that it happens. It happens very, very, very fast. So tonight I want us to look at the mortal. Let's look at the mortal this evening, if you will. Notice with me in verse 53 of 1 Corinthians 15. Follow along closely if you will this evening. The Bible says here in verse 53, For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. Beloved, it is that quick tonight. That's how quick it's going to happen. just as Moses put a veil to cover his face, just as Christ was transfigured on the Mount of Olives. Listen, I'm telling you, not the Mount of Olives, the Mount of Transfiguration. But just as those things happened, this is going to happen as well. Verse 54 says, So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. corruptible first thing i want you to think of tonight and look at if you're taking notes under the mortal which is point number three you know from last week sub point here is the corruptible puts on in corruption corruptible puts on in corruption. So we need to ask ourselves here if we need to understand what is the corruptible? What is corruptible that Paul is referring to here? Acts chapter 13, if you want to write it down as a reference, verse 36 says, for David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, that means he died, and was laid unto his father, that means he was laid in a sepulcher, and saw corruption. and saw corruption. Okay? So in Acts 13, verse 36, we see that when David was died, he was buried where his fathers were, and he began to corrupt. His body saw corruption. The contrast we also find is found in Paul's epistle unto the Galatians. Galatians 6, 8 says, For he that soweth to his flesh shall reap of the flesh corruption. But he that soweth to the Spirit, shall the Spirit reap life everlasting. Now, Paul's contrasting there in Galatians chapter 6. We know verse 7 says, Be not deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever man soweth, that shall he also reap. And we use that verse that hey, you reap what you sow, and that you do. You reap what you sow. You reap the consequences of your actions and your attitude and your demeanor. You know, a rebel is going to reap rebellion. That's just the way it is. Negative attitudes, they're going to reap negative attitudes. But, doctrinally speaking, those two verses, doctrinally speaking, technically is talking about life after lasting, eternal life versus eternal damnation. Okay? Because, If you sow unto the flesh and you're just going to live unto this flesh, the Bible says you're going to reap corruption. What is that? That is death, okay? For the wages of sin is death. But the gift of God is eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ. But if you sow to the Spirit, you're going to reap what? Life everlasting. See the contrast there? So when Paul is speaking over here in 1 Corinthians chapter 15, what is he referring to here? When he says the corruption must put on incorruption. Corruptible must put on incorruption. It's speaking of those that have already died and been buried in the grave. They've been buried, they've been put away, they're in the grave right now, but yet they are saved and born again. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. There's a lot of people that want to say, well, why in the world does that body even have to come up? Why doesn't God just make a new one? Because it's not His pattern or His plan. And those that have been cremated, I don't believe that's the necessary biblical method, but nevertheless, let's say they've been cremated and been scattered out to sea. You know what God's going to do on that day? He's going to gather every little single particle, no matter where they are, no matter what, I mean, you know, one of the laws of thermodynamics is that nothing ever goes away. They only change form, right? We learned that in basic science, science 101 in elementary school, didn't we? It just changes forms. Solids change from a solid to a gas. Liquids can change from a liquid to a gas. Liquids can go from a liquid to a solid. Everything stays, it's just nothing changes, I mean nothing goes away forever. So, if a body is completely burned, cast out to sea, on this day when God calls His bride home, if that soul is saved, every particle of that body is going to be brought back together and it's going to be changed. Remember Paul said, Behold I show you a mystery, we shall not all sleep, But we shall all, that's both dead and alive, be changed. In a moment, in a twinkle of an eye, at the last trump, that's when it's going to happen, right? Look in verse 42, further evidence to understand. This is the same chapter of 1 Corinthians 15. 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 42. The Bible says, so also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption. It is raised in incorruption. It is sown in corruption and it is raised in in corruptions, those that are dead in Christ, okay? I'm not talking about a backslidden Baptist that's saved and doing nothing, dead in Christ, amen? That's a little bit of a joke, you'll get it later I guess. Those that have died and gone on to be with the Lord prior to the rapture, Will be raised incorruptible first Thessalonians chapter 4 verse 16 that we've read I don't know how many times as I've been here says for the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the Archangel the Trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first so Corruption is when that body is buried in the ground that person has died and that this flesh begins to corrupt it begins to decay All right That's what that is. That's why the Bible tells of the Lord Jesus Christ that He would not suffer His Holy One to see what? Corruption. Alright? Jesus Christ was risen from the grave on the third day, at the conclusion of the third day. So that's the first phase that we find here in the rapture of the church, is that the corruptible puts on incorruption. That body is changed into a glorified body. Also we find here is that the mortal must put on immortality. The mortal must put on Immortality we find this in verses 53 and 54 as well where the Bible says for this corruptible must put on incorruption and this mortal must put on immortality So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption and this mortal shall put on immortality Then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written death is swallowed up in victory guys This is an exciting time It is a wonderful time It is a time when the mortal body that we live in right now, should the rapture happen while we're yet alive, which we hope that it does, if that is to happen, this body is going to put on a glorified body as the Lord Jesus Christ had. In the same chapter, verse 44, the Bible says, it is sown a natural body, speaking of being raised in power, it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body and there is a spiritual body. Okay? There is a natural body, which we received at birth, and then there is a spiritual body, which we'll receive at the resurrection. Tying that together with 1 Corinthians chapter 4, guys I had this up there last week and just to fill in where we are, we pick back up in Revelation chapter 4 verses 1 and 2, which ties into 1 Thessalonians verse 16, which ties into 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 51 so I've got it color-coded to a certain degree here black red and green same thing here that we looked at verse 2 is going to tie into verse 17 and We're getting ready to read verse 17 which ties into 52 and on 52 through 54 roughly in this area We're going to discuss first and second resurrections here here a little bit later on tonight But I am going to hold to my promise that I am not going to go long there This evening I made that clear this morning first Thessalonians chapter 4 verse 17 says then we which were alive and remained shall be caught up together within the clouds To meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Here's verse 17 Here's the trumpet saying come up hither immediately in verse 2 Revelation chapter 4 immediately John said he was in the spirit Verses 52 through 54, this is the occurrence, this is the mortal body putting on immortality. If it was to happen today, there would be a pile of blood here, a pile of clothes, jewelry, and whatever false teeth or implants you may have in your body, it's going to be left right here, and you're going to receive a glorified body as the Lord Jesus Christ did. Now did you notice something here? Paul has said, Paul makes the mystery so simple. A mystery is something that's been hidden or covered up. He reveals this mystery unto us, but he makes it so simple. He not only divides the mystery as to how it occurs, but also who it involves. Those that have died beforehand, guess what that does? That throws away the teaching of souls sleeping, that throws away the the teaching of purgatory that throws away all of those things. He makes it so simple. Those that are dead in Christ have died. To be absent from the body, he also says, to be present with the Lord. The body is buried in the ground. That body is risen again, receives a glorified body. Not only how it occurs, but how and who is involved, both the dead in Christ and those that are alive and remain. Paul writes in his last letter in 2 Timothy chapter 1 verse 10, he says, but is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel." Turn over in your Bibles to Ephesians chapter 1 with me just real quick. Ephesians chapter 1. Ephesians in chapter 1 here. Nessie said amen, she's there. Jason's there. Ephesians in chapter 1 and in verse 9. So what the Bible says, as having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure, which he hath purchased, I'm sorry, purposed in himself. I'm ahead of myself. That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, which are in earth, even in him, in whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will." Keep reading. "...that we should be the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ, in whom he also trusted. After that he heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession unto the praise of His glory." The redemption of His purchased possession is the blessed hope that we read about in the book of Titus. You're not turning there, but we are looking for that blessed hope, the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ in the air. That is what the redemption of the purchased possession. When did Christ purchase His possession? on the cross of Calvary. Now, to be redeemed means to buy back. A redemption payment is technically in the business world is the final payment made on an acquisition, or a building, or a part, or a percentage, or whatever it may be. Now, we call that in the business world redemption payments, as you're paying it off. As you have said, we go into partnership together, and I'm going to buy 51% of your company over the span of the next five years. And we work it out under this measure. 20% of my payment will be a redemption to the ownership of it, and then 80% of it will be toward whatever, toward your benefit, and this and that. But when we're talking about a redemption payment here, Jesus Christ paid in full for the redemption payment the purchase possession on the cross of Calvary, yet he's going to come and redeem his possession that he purchased when he calls us up hithers. That makes sense to you tonight? That's what he did. He put the earnest payment down. I taught this one time before and had a few phone calls on the next day asking me the question, well, wait a second, didn't he pay it in full? If it's an earnest payment, is that just a down payment? Because what we think about is, I don't know if you have layaway projects over here or layaway plans, you can go to the store You put something on layaway, that means each week you pay a certain amount of it until Christmas time, then you can make that final payment, and that's called a redemption payment. And you take that item home, wrap it up, give it to your kid, they fill you up, and you take it back. And that's the way it works out sometimes. But that's not what happened with Christ. The earnest of the purchase of possession occurred on the cross of Calvary. It's paid for. Done. He's coming back to take his bride home to redeem his purchased possession that he's already paid for. Romans chapter 8 verse 29 says this, For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn amongst many brethren. Now, here's the deal guys. Just because He foreknew you, okay, does not mean you were chosen according to His foreknowledge to be saved and the soul next to you was not chosen. It doesn't work like that. Your predestination to be conformed to the image of God's only Son is after you receive Jesus Christ. That's your predestination. You're predestinated to be conformed in the image of the Son of God. You're not going to look like Him on this side of glory. You understand? You're predestinated because of the purchased position on the cross of Calvary. Therefore, when you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, from that point forward, you're predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, the glorified body that you receive at this moment when the dead in Christ shall rise and that we which are alive and remain shall be called up together in the clouds. Here's what we need to understand. Here's one of the keys. I'm going to go off topic here, off outline here for just a moment. This is what we need to understand when we begin to look at the purchase possession, the redemption purchase possession, of the Lord Jesus Christ. What we're looking at is the resurrections. If you can't see the board, I'll move out of the way just a little bit. We're looking at the first resurrection. We've already read Ephesians chapter 1 verses 9-14. We read that just a moment ago. We just read now Romans 8, verse 29. Okay? Now here's what we need to understand. Turn in your Bibles if you're not there. Romans 8, verse 29. There's a portion of Scripture that I want you to hang your hat on, and I want you to understand clearly, clearly tonight. Romans 8, verse 29. I just read it to you. But I'm going to change gears just a wee bit and get you there so that you can look at it and see it. If you take notes in your Bible or if you're taking notes on paper, what I want you to circle in this portion of Romans 8, verse 29, is I want you to look down to the latter part of the Scripture where it says that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Okay? Among many brethren what I want you to understand from this point forward here. We look at Romans chapter 8 verse 29 We've already looked at our text of verses Revelation 4 1st Thessalonians 4 in 1st Corinthians 15 So I'm not going to ask you to turn there, but understand this that he might be That he might be the firstborn Amongst many brethren here's what you got to get in your mind tonight that part of Jesus Christ is He is of what is called the first resurrection. Now I'm saying that, and hold your hats, turn over to Revelation, Revelation chapter 20, so we're going to be for a moment. Yeah. You're going to hold your place here. You're going to look at it two or three times here for the last few minutes and then we'll be done for the evening. But notice with me in verse 6, Revelation 20. I'm sorry, verse 5 says, But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. Last part of that, Scripture says this is the first resurrection. This is the first resurrection. If you look in verse 6, Blessed and holy is He that hath part in the first resurrection. On such, the second death hath no power." Now we've all heard the phrase, born once, die twice. Born twice, die once. Okay? That's being born again. John chapter 3, Jesus Christ said, lest a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God. Right? Cannot do it. He's telling Nicodemus that under the cover of darkness. So we find in Revelation chapter 20 that John is making by inspiration of God, writing down the words of Christ here who says, this is the first resurrection, blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection. The first phase of the first resurrection is found in Romans chapter 8 verse 29. That he might be the what of many brethren? Firstborn of many brethren. Okay? What this is called is the first fruits. This is the first fruits. Alright? So you're finding here in this area right there, we also looked at Ephesians chapter 1. We looked at Ephesians chapter 1 under this same category. Ephesians chapter 1, we've already read it, but, you may want to write it down, but like I said, we've already read it. But it says, in whom also, verse 11, whom also we have obtained an inheritance being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will, that we should be to the praise of His glory, who first trusted in Christ, in whom ye trusted, whom ye also trusted. After that ye heard the word of truth and the gospel of your salvation, whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession unto the praise of His glory. The Bible speaks of Jesus Christ being the first fruits of many brethren. The Bible speaks right here in Ephesians chapter 1 that it was the earnest of our inheritance, the down payment if you will. The first fruits is Jesus Christ's resurrection on the third day. That is the beginning, that is the start of the first resurrection. Now guys, there's a lot of people, they get mixed up on this and they're going to stay mixed up on it until they study their scriptures and they listen and they pay attention and they apply it correctly. They're going to remain just in the dark and be confused and be thrown off in the world today. Understand this, just because you have the first fruits, Jesus Christ, okay? Does it mean that there's something secondary out there? Because people want to say, well, the first and second resurrection, where does the rapture occur? And they try to make it confusing. It's not. It's very simple. Agriculturally speaking, you have the first fruits. First fruits went on to who? Went on to the priest, right? Right off the top goes back to God, right? When we pay our tithe, the bare minimum of what we come and we give to God is off the top. I don't have the right to say, well, wait a second, let me borrow 1% of that. It's already His. It's already His. It never was mine. It's all His, amen? That's the first fruits right there. That's the first phase of the first resurrection. The second phase is what we've been talking about for two weeks, which we call the rapture of the church, okay? The word rapture is not in the Bible, but the definition is the catching away, caught up together. That is found in 1 Thessalonians 4, Revelation 4, 1 and 2, 1 Corinthians 15. That's what we've been going over to. Whereas the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the first fruits, the rapture of the church is the harvest, okay? Agriculturally speaking, you got the first roots that comes off, and then the next phase that you have is the harvest. That's the mother load, if you will. The first fruits is great. It's usually the choices of the crop, but it's not huge. The harvest is massive, right? So now we have the harvest. But you're still in Revelation chapter 20. In Revelation chapter 20, the Bible gives us a list of people here, okay? In Revelation chapter 20, this is what he says here. He says in verse 4, And I saw thrones, and they that sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them. And I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus. Now you could say, well, wait a second. We know a lot of people died for the name of Christ. We're doing it today. And for the word of God. Well, a lot of people are dying for the word of God. They're doing it today. And which worship not the beast. Whoa! Now we've got to pull the ponies up. Okay? That's specific right there. That's a specific group of people, neither of which are involved in the first fruits or the harvest, because these two are gone. This happened in AD 32 with the Lord Jesus Christ coming out of the grave. This could happen right now, or it could happen 10 years from now, the rapture of the church. You understand? But neither one of these portions right here had anything to do with the worshiping of the beast, nor could they lose their life for refusing to worship the beast. That is only one group of people, and that is those who refused to take the mark of the beast during the tribulation period on this earth for seven years. So we know that they're there, and neither had received his mark upon the foreheads, that's clear as a veil, Revelation 13, or in their hands, and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. So here you have the body of Christ, the bride of Christ, living and reigning with Christ for a thousand years, and you've got these people that lose their head, alright? During the tribulation period, reigning in Christ for a thousand years as well. So if we look over in Revelation chapter 11, Revelation chapter 11, just about to wind down guys, Revelation chapter 11, The Bible tells me in Revelation 11, verse 11, it says, And after three days and a half, the Spirit of life from God entered into them, speaking of the two witnesses, Moses and Elijah. And they stood up on their feet, and great fear fell upon them which saw them. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, watch this, Come up hither. And they ascended up into heaven in a cloud, and their enemies beheld them. That sounds awful, awful, awful close to what happens at the end of that church age. But it's not. Those are the two witnesses that preach for 42 months. We learned the other day, 42 months, or 3 1⁄2 years, 1260 days. 1260 days equals 3 1⁄2 years according to a biblical year, which is 360 days. Some of you guys may have done some of the math that I gave you on the dates. I hope that you did. I said 445 B.C. Christ, the Lord stopped that clock in 32. You go, wait a second, we're missing six years. Sure you are, 6.6 to be exact. Because remember it was three and a half years of his ministry on earth. 6.6 years is missing, why? Because that's the five extra days that we count in the Julian calendar that according to the Paschal Moon is not in a biblical year. So 445 B.C., 360 days per year, equals out to be 8032. We're missing six and a half years according to the Julian calendar. We're not missing anything according to the Bible, not according to the lesson. I was kind of hoping somebody would come up to me and go, now wait a second, preacher, you said 483 years, now I'm only getting 477. So I was kind of hoping that you guys would have, but nevertheless, anyway, it is what it is. Revelation chapter six, last time I'm gonna ask you to turn, we're done. Revelation chapter 6. So we see here, firstfruits, that's the resurrection of Jesus Christ that happens in AD 32. We have the harvest, that is the rapture or the catching away of the bride of Christ according to 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, Revelation 4, 1 Corinthians 15, Titus chapter 2. Now we have this group here. that are being told to come up hither. Who are they? Revelation 6, verse 10, the Bible tells me, And they cry with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost Thou not judge and avenge? Our blood upon them that dwell on the earth, and white robes are given unto every one of them. And it was said unto them that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren that should be killed as they were should be fulfilled." Guys, this is called the gleanings. If you think of a crop, an agricultural crop, you have the first fruits, you have the mother load, if you will, the main harvest. There are going to be some that are left over. That is the gleanings. what we call a tribulational rapture. When God says, Come up hither unto those two witnesses, those that have lost their head, that have died for rejecting the mark of the beast in their forehead or their right hand, that have rejected and pledged their allegiance to the Antichrist, who rejected Him, they held to the Word of God, but they also had to lose their life in order to be saved. That is called the tribulational rapture. They are tribulational saints. It is the gleanings because it is very few. and far between, especially compared to the harvest. If somebody in this world has had an opportunity to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior, according to the Word of God, second Thessalonians, they're going to believe a lie. They have lost their chance to be saved. They will not be saved in the tribulation period. The only ones, as far as the Gentiles go, that will be able to be saved and part of the of the gleanings of the Tribulational Rapture will be those that reject the allegiance to the Antichrist, who reject taking a mark of the beast in their hand or in their forehead, and therefore they're subsequently beheaded because of it, and the Gentiles that assist Israel in helping them flee to the city of Petra. We know that by Luke 19, Matthew 25, when there's a group that comes before the Lord that says, You know, he says, come in here. If you've given drink in the least of these, my brethren, which is speaking of Israel, you've done that to me. And they said, when do we give you a drink? They didn't know what they were doing. They were just helping a remnant of Israel be spared by the antichrist. They said, when did we visit you in prison? He said, Hey, you know, you visit one of the least of these, my brethren, you visited me. So, that's what it is, guys. That's the shout. That's it. That's the first resurrection. Blessed are they who have part in the first resurrection where the second death has no power over them. 1 Corinthians 15, that the sting of death is taken away. O grave, where is thy sting? O death, where is thy victory? It's all gone away. I think I reversed those, but nevertheless, do you understand what I'm saying tonight? That is the first resurrection. Now, there may be a question out there, and I want to go ahead and finish. But if there's a first resurrection, when is the second resurrection? The second resurrection occurs at the end of the 1,000 year reign of Christ. And that is when the dead gives up their dead, hell gives up their dead, the sick gives up their dead. Everybody that has died before shall be resurrected to stand before God at the great white throne of judgment. And they will be judged according to their works and what they did. You say, wait a second, preacher, I thought they are only judged because they rejected Jesus Christ. They were there because they rejected Jesus Christ. They are judged according to their works and how their works ill affected the body of Christ on this world. That's why it's at the end of time. Time shall be no more. And there was no more sea. It's not talking about the Mediterranean. It's not talking about the Indian oceans, not talking about the Pacific or the Atlantic. It's speaking of the sea that separates the third and the second heaven, a sea like unto glass, and there'll be no more separation. Why is it there? To separate God's abode from where we dwell. You say, well, we can never get there anyway. No, we couldn't. That's just the way God did things. Amen? So, any questions on that? I know I kind of flew through it a bit. Any questions tonight on
