All right, we're gonna pick it up in Acts chapter two. And I'm gonna start here at the paragraph mark in verse number 14, just to reiterate a little bit of what's going on. But if I remember correctly, we left off in verse 17. It says, but Peter, so Peter's the leader, and I'm just gonna reiterate some things as I read this, just for review. But y'all remember in Matthew 16, The Lord Jesus Christ gave Peter the keys to the kingdom because he made a statement. He said, Thou art the Christ, the son of the living God. And he made that statement and that's what they were supposed to believe. They had to believe on his name. And so Peter is a leader there, and it's amazing how the Lord will pick leaders and stuff. Look, that's like just for practical application. The Lord can pick anybody who he wants to. The world tries to pick certain people to do certain things and says, well, I just think it should be this person, that person. You know what I like about serving the Lord? The Lord's the one that chooses the team. The Lord can use whoever He wants to. And Peter, if you read that Bible at face value, Peter had a little bit of a temper problem. And the Lord still used him. You know what you're going to find out? The Lord can work through your issues. The main issue is, is the Lord in control there? And if you'll yield to the Lord, the Lord can use you. The trouble is, it's yield. You know, you read Romans 6 and he says, know and reckon and yield. If we could ever get a hold of that truth out of that thing, you've got to know and reckon and then yield your members as his members of righteousness. And I'll tell you something, the Lord used you. So Peter standing up with the 11. So there's the 12. And here's another thing too. The Apostle Paul is nowhere to be found here. He is not one of the 12. This is the ministry of Peter and the 11 are the Apostles. And they have a prophetic ministry, and it has to do with the Lord Jesus Christ's earthly ministry. Lifted up his voice. Now here's another thing. It tells you over there in Isaiah 55, and I've been reading verses for the past few hours. I've got to get some of it. But it talks about lifting up your voice like a trumpet. Peter is preaching here to the nation. He's preaching to these leaders. He's preaching to Judea. In verse 14 it says, Men of Judea and they that dwell at Jerusalem. And he's preaching to them and it's his message as it's been outlined before is pointed, it's direct to them, and that thing is plain. That's one thing about preaching. That's transdispensation. It ought to be pointed and plain. The Apostle Paul says we use great plainness of speech. One thing I can tell you is if you like to listen to sermons, I can't stand when somebody starts using these great big words And a lot of times, it's just them trying to sound smart. There are big words in the Bible. I don't believe in getting the Bible so dumbed down to where you'd start changing everything in it. You can give the sense of the Bible and educate people up to the Bible, but at the same time, God can use uneducated people. And it's even gonna say in Acts 4, when we get over there one of these days, where it says, they took note that these people were ignorant and unlearned, but they took note they'd been with Jesus. You know what makes a difference? The Lord Jesus Christ. There was a lady over there in John, she just told everybody, come see a man. She didn't know a whole lot of Bible doctrine. The thing is, you learn a little here and a little there. If y'all are anything like me, like today I've poured through all kind of stuff, been looking at some of the stuff I don't understand, some stuff I seem to understand. But if you let that bother you, you won't get very far in your Bible study. You're just going to pick up a little here and a little there and over time it'll compound on itself and then you'll know a little bit. And I tell you this too, I have to write stuff down because I forget it. So it's a constant learning, but at the same time we need to keep the thing simple and keep it scriptural. He's preaching with the scripture here. And he says in verse 14, it said unto them, You men of Judea and all you that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you and hearken to my words. for these are not drunken as you suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day." Men that's got any sense, they're not out here drinking at nine o'clock in the morning. Third hour, it's nine o'clock in the morning. The Jewish day, see, even the Jewish day has to do with prophecy. In Genesis it said, The evening and the morning were the first day. Why does it start off with the evening? Because the Lord knew even when He started their time clock, darkness is gonna come first, then the morning. Why? The Lord Jesus Christ is the day star. He is the bright and morning star. So they're gonna have darkness first, because that's why they start their day like that. And then guess what? Then the morning comes. Everything about them, look, the Lord knew all that stuff. Nothing takes the Lord by surprise. So you get this thing. He says in verse 16, but this is that. What's this? This, when he says this, what is happening is that which was prophesied. This is that, okay? And it says, which was spoken by the prophet Joel. So now again, we're reading things that was spoken by the prophet Joel. So if it's prophesied, that means we're not reading mystery doctrine. Prophecy, that's in the Prophecy Program. You got your Prophecy Program, Prophecy here, Mystery, and then the Rapture of the Church, and it goes right back to Prophecy again. It's prophesied by the Prophet Joel. Now, I'm going to tell you something. You get a lot of these folks. And they try to say, okay, Acts 2 is the birthday of the church. This is the Messianic church. The Lord said He'll build His church. You got, just because you say the word church in the Bible don't mean it's this assembly. A church is a called out assembly. You had a Mosaic church out in the wilderness, Acts 7, 38. He said there was a church out in the wilderness. Then you got a Messianic church and Peter and the apostles are preaching about that called out assembly there. Now we are in the mystery church today. So this right here is speaking of this messianic church with a messianic ministry going on here, and they're talking about the messiah that they rejected. He said, you crucified and slain. He's preaching a murder indictment right here. See, he's saying the prophet Joel, he said he prophesied about these things that were going on. Now, The reason you need to know this is, I'm going to get y'all to turn to Amos 3. One reason I'm taking Acts chapter 2 so slow is because most of your false doctrine comes out of Matthew, Acts, and Hebrews, which are transitional books. And Acts 2 is the granddaddy of them all. So many false doctrines come out of Acts 2. And this is what they say, look, this is why I'm trying my best. As I learn more, I want to do better for y'all to be a better preacher. I'm checking things by the Bible. I've heard people say, well, so-and-so speaks in tongues. Okay, well, I got my Bible out and I said, well, okay, let me see where it says speak in tongues. It don't say speak in tongues. It said they speak with other tongues. You know what that means? That means they were speaking with languages that they had not studied and God gave them the power to be able to speak. It's not some kind of mystical thing that people have made it up. What I'm saying is if we'll check the Bible, you'll know these things and that's why we're looking at these verses to see what they say and what's going on. When he's preaching about the prophet Joel, Joel was a prophet. Now guess what? Simon Peter was a prophet. Prophets, when you go through the Bible, the nation of Israel will be doing something bad, and they'd send a prophet out there, and that prophet would say, this is gonna happen because you've been doing this, and those prophets come out there and say, you better repent. You read about the prophet Elijah. He was going out there saying, and going straight to Israel, saying, and blam, blam, blam, and you better repent. That's what he said. He's a prophet, okay? Simon Peter was a prophet. They prophesied a prophecy that was coming. Simon Peter, he's speaking of a prophet here, Joel, and then he wrote 1 and 2 Peter, which are books of prophecy. They're talking about the coming of the Lord and all this stuff. It's okay. You say, why is that important? Because people say, well, the body of Christ started in Acts 2. And they say, well, Peter knew all about the thing. That's impossible, impossible. Amos, look at Amos 3. Amos chapter 3, I had a guy tell me Peter wasn't a prophet. Well, if you read your Bible, you'll find out he was. I mean, it's just that simple. Look at this in Amos 3 verse number 7. It says, Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets. This means, according to that verse, the saying, the church was there in Acts 2 but wasn't revealed, isn't in Scripture but just another saying from, and I've got this in my notes, the wisdom of men, 1 Corinthians 2.5. Okay, Peter was a prophet according to that verse and he got two prophetical books and the Lord did not reveal the start of the church, the body of Christ, to him. It's just that simple. Peter, if the Lord says he reveals his secrets and the body of Christ is a secret, Okay, well that verse right there said he reveals his secrets to the prophet. Peter was a prophet and he didn't get it revealed to him. I'm trying to make that thing simple so y'all know where y'all at in the book of Acts. When people try to tell you Acts chapter 2 is for you today, and they go to Acts 2.38, all you have to do is say, I just tell them this, that's not my mail. That's not directly to me today. Acts chapter 2 has to do with the kingdom program. All you do is say, and this is things like Brother David preached here a little while back. They said in Acts 2, what must we do? Why did they say that? He's preaching to the nation. We just read Judea and Jerusalem. He's preaching to the nation of Israel. And according to their law, they were supposed to repent as a nation. You know what, after Paul gets saved over in Acts 9, and he starts getting the revelation of the mysteries, and the Lord slowly, He don't give them to him all at once. He said, I will come to revelations, and He said, I will come to dreams and revelation. The Lord shows them a little bit here, a little bit here. Alright, on Acts 16, that man over there said, what must I do personally to be saved." And he said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. He summed up the gospel right there. Why? Because we know Paul was preaching the gospel, the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. He's preaching the gospel as good news. Peter don't know what Paul knows right here. Peter's preaching that, hey, you crucified the Messiah. You crucified Christ. He's preaching his bad news. Well, they're under a different program. So I want y'all to see these things so y'all have those references there. We're not just coming up with stuff. We're saying, hey, this is what the Scripture says about the Scripture. And I hope that makes it easier there. So he's also, back to Acts 2, it says, Verse 17, and it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. When you get to that thing right there, you got the last days of Israel's program being prophesied. And you know what? A lot of people don't know where they're at in Acts 2, and that's why you get things like this. I took a couple screenshots because I've had questions on this. This one guy, he's got... His whole YouTube thing, I think his channel's called The Last Days. And one of them says, Jesus took me to the tribulation and gave me a vision. The Lord showed me more about the 350 million that so-and-so, what's coming, so-and-so died, prophetic warning, and you know what this guy's doing, all this stuff. I just took this screenshot. Every bit of it he's going right back to Acts 2 and he's getting his doctrine from somewhere that does not belong to him. The last days of Israel are not the same as the last days for the body of Christ. The Apostle Paul tells you over in 2 Timothy chapter three, this know also that in the last days perilous times shall come, men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, broasters, proud, disobedient to parent, deceivers, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. All these things, that's what he's saying. You don't look for signs. in our dispensation. You can tell by looking at what's going on in the hearts of men. Why? Because we don't walk by sight. We walk by faith. And you know what? You can see how people are responding to faith. So I'm not looking at what's going on with the wars and all that type of stuff to say, well, we must be in the last days here. Why? Because they've been fighting for years and years. I've told you before. That's what they're doing. They're ripping things from the headlines. They're saying, Look at the headlines and look what's going on. You know what you can tell more than that? Look at what's going on in the hearts of people. And look how people do not love God. They love pleasure more. And you know what that text says? They love pleasures more than God. It did not say they don't love God. It said they love pleasure more. We're living in a generation now where people do not as a whole. I know y'all are here tonight on Wednesday night That's a blessing but what I'm showing you is the last days of the church the church the body of Christ has last days and when we're out of here then Israel's last days will come back in the view again, but you got to understand the church that has to do with the Messianic Church is different why because There's all kind of words that have to do with them, have to do with us, even though it's the same word, salvation. We're gonna look here in just a little bit where it talks about they're looking at being saved from their enemies. That's what salvation is. In Luke chapter one, they're saying, hey, the Messiah's gonna come save us from our enemies. Well, they were mad because he didn't come and relieve them from the Roman oppression. They was thinking, hey, I'm sitting here looking at the scripture, but they didn't understand the sufferings part. Okay, well thus our last days has to do with the hearts of men Things that you can't see by sight as far as looking at signs in the heavens and all that stuff that was given to them We're walking by faith and what the Word of God says to us and you have to understand that people are getting to the place Where they do not want the Bible and the Word of God, but hey, it's not taking God by surprise So yet that you have to understand these things too. He says saith God I will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh now In the Old Testament, you read through there, and it would just come on one man for power, that's like David. David was anointed, the Spirit came on him, and he had this ability to be able to lead. And let me tell you something, you read those battles, I read those battles all the time. As long as David was right with God, he did not lose a battle. David would not, he would not lose against any giants or anything. But you let David get to where he wasn't right with God, and he started losing. Now you know what that had to do? Because in the Old Testament, that thing that's happening right here that was prophesied, hey, all flesh would get the Spirit poured out on them. That's something that they didn't understand, so Peter's trying to give them more revelation on that thing. But man, you get people like Samson and stuff like that in the Old Testament, why were they able to do that? That Holy Spirit would come upon their flesh and give them power for that service to the Lord. Well you know what with us? You better understand that the mighty, we're in the power of His might and He has to do an inward work. You know what it says? God worketh in you to be able to do things that they weren't even able to do. We've got the sealing of the Holy Spirit of God wherewith we're able to have love when you normally aren't supposed to love. You're supposed to have love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. Why? Because that's the fruit of the Spirit. The Spirit is producing that fruit in you. But man, you got that back there, David would have an enemy, and he'd pray as long as he's right with God. He could pray those imprecatory prayers, man. God take care of the enemies and everything. So you got a different program. That's not for us. So he's, Peter's saying, hey, that he's gonna pour out the Spirit, not on just a few for service, on all flesh. Now it says this, your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. Now people quote that and say, man we're gonna have visions and dreams. This had to do with prophecy and they were getting a foretaste of that kingdom. But what happened is, even though Simon Peter was preaching this because he didn't know God was going to interrupt the prophecy program. So when you read this right here, all as Peter knew, he's preaching saying this stuff is about to happen. And then, of course, we know the prophetic program got interrupted by the dispensation of grace of God, but for right here, all that stuff is in view. So he's preaching that thing, saying, hey, this is about to happen. Look at what's going on. The prophecy's being fulfilled. Okay, and it says, verse 19, and I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath. Well, the Jews require a sign. He's going to give them the signs that they require. It says, in the earth beneath, blood. Now, you know what? The life of the flesh is in the blood. The Lord's doing these things, they supposed to go right back to Leviticus and realize what's going on, the life of the flesh and the blood, but watch this, and fire. If you don't accept this message of repentance, you know what's gonna happen? Fire. If they have been reading their scriptures, why, they're commanded to read. And if they're reading their scriptures, all this stuff is right there in their face and it makes sense to them. You know why a lot of stuff don't make sense to people today? We're living in a nation that does not read the Bible anymore. So so many of the things that go on doesn't make sense. But the more you read the Bible, the more things make sense in life. Look, the only way you can make sense of the things that go on in life is to read your Bible and understand it. The only way I can make sense of the fact that babies get slaughtered and things go on, people send other people's children to war and they don't even care who gets killed and who gets shot and who gets murdered and all that type of stuff. And all that stuff, you say, how do you make sense of that? The only way you can is we're living in a dispensation of the grace of God, and he is trying to get all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. You're getting, right now, more grace being poured out than ever been poured out before. But one day, God is gonna switch his dealings, and when this dispensation's over with, it's gonna be the wrath of God, and he'll take care of every bit of it. So that's how you reconcile these things. And it says, in vapor of smoke, the sun should be turned into darkness and all that stuff was in view, and the moon into blood before that great and notable day of the Lord come. And it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Verse 22, you men of Israel. Now you need to know something. When we see a quotation from the Old Testament, you got to go back and see where he's quoting from. Because he told them to call on the name of the Lord. Now is that how you're saved today? Absolutely not. You know how you're saved today? Believing in the death, the burial, and the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. That's the gospel. You can't just believe, you can't just say, well, I just believe on the name of the Lord. You can't do that. You gotta know what you're believing. So many people, you know, you get this thing nowadays, and like that one guy I was telling you about, I watched about 10 minutes of that video, and it made me so mad I couldn't hardly see straight, but he said, all you gotta do today just to be saved, just love Jesus. If anybody listens, that's going to send multitudes of people to hell. Loving Jesus is not salvation. Loving Jesus is not the gospel. You don't even know how to love until you're in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ is love. How can you know how to love until you're in the Lord Jesus Christ? That's like, that's what's wrong with the world today. So many people don't know how to love because true love is God's love and the only way you can have God's love is be in the Lord Jesus Christ. Okay, well that solves so many things there, but now turn to Joel chapter two. Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel. A little book of Joel. Joel 2. We need to see this and see what the context is in this name of the Lord. Now as you're going there, this is a whole study on the name of the Lord that I'm going to try to shorten for you a little bit, but while we're here, it's hard to find stuff on this because a lot of people don't teach verse by verse, so it's very few people that you can check in. It takes a lot of time combing through them verses. But the name of the Lord. In Leviticus, they were commanded to hallow the name of God. Hallowed be thy name. Alright, he tells them that. So you're going to see some things in prophecy here. When he comes up there, if he's preaching the nation of Israel, and they had been prophesied in Daniel's prophecy about the Messiah, who is the Christ. Christ and Messiah is the same word. And he was going to be Emmanuel, which is God with us. And that name turns out to be Jesus? You know what they're going to have to do in order to believe the message of the Kingdom? The only way to receive the message of the Kingdom is receive the King of the Kingdom. So the only way they can do that is to believe on His name. That's like you reading the Gospel. The blood of Jesus Christ hasn't been shed yet. You know what Jesus said over there in Matthew 9? He said, I have power on earth to forgive sins. So the prophet Joel had told them about the name because if they don't believe on his name, they're not receiving the king anyway. That's why, look, this stuff is so important. I wish I could just, I wish I had hours with you. You know how important that name is, the Lord Jesus Christ? There's gonna be another Jesus, and Jesus even said over in the gospels, he said, I've come in my own name, and you believe me or not, he said another come in his name. Him you will receive. You know what the deal is? People say, well, it's going to come in Jesus' name, stuff like that. No. There's going to be another God that's saying He's the Christ and He's going to come in His name because at the name of Jesus every knee will bow. Eventually. The power is in that name and they knew it. And they had to believe that. That's part of that gospel of the kingdom because they had to receive the name of the Lord. Watch this in Joel chapter 2. Watch what it says there. Here's the context. It says in verse number 27, And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else. And my people shall never be ashamed. And it shall come to pass after that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh. That's what Peter's saying. Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. Your old men shall dream dreams. Your young men shall see visions. and also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days when I pour out my spirit and I will show wonders in the heavens." He just said that. Look at this. Verse 31, the sun should be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord come. Now, I'll stop right there for just a second. You remember whenever he quoted it over in Acts 2, he said the great and notable day. I ran that word notables only in the Bible about five times. Now why did the Holy Spirit have it terrible one day in one passage? Because it's His work. He can quote it how He wants to. That's not against the law. He said notable. When you read that thing notable, you better be taking note of that thing. There was a notable horn over there in Daniel when he talked about that little horn, a notable horn. All those things are things you better be taking note of. And so if it says notable, that's something you better be taking notice of. So what he's saying is all these things are going on, that's that notable day. Of any other day that you've studied, they better be studying that day and be paying attention because He gives them. Why is it so important? If these things are being preached and He's saying, look here, you better be taking heed because Joel's prophesied of these last days what's so important. How are you going to be delivered from what's coming? He says, and it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant, see that believing remnant, whom the Lord shall call. Now, that Israel's salvation is connected to a deliverance, and that's why in Luke chapter 1 they talk about being saved, and then four verses down it says, be delivered from our enemies. Now let me show you their requirement on the name. Turn to 2 Chronicles chapter 6. 2 Chronicles chapter 6. Like I said, I like to show y'all some of these things here because some of it's hard to find. You really don't have a lot of people that go over some of this stuff. So it's a blessing that we've got all this in here. And look, this Bible is such a vast book. I'm going over Acts 2, some of the details you normally don't see, but I still am not scratching the surface, y'all. That Bible is intertwined so well that only God could have wrote a book like this. I mean, there's no way. The more you study the Bible, you're going to find out there's no way a man could have done it because he's got it set up. So you don't have to have other books. All you have to have is the Bible to check what the Bible says about it. Alright, so 2 Chronicles 6, look at verse number 24. It says, And if thy people, Israel, So we know the nation of Israel is being addressed here. Be put to the worst before the enemy. They're right before their enemies, right? In Acts 2, their enemies, they're still under Roman oppression. So Solomon, when he's telling them what's going on here, he's telling them what to do when these things happen. He says, because they have sinned against thee. Peter's saying, not only did you sin, you crucified your Christ, you crucified the Messiah. That's a sin right there. It says, and shall return, and watch this, confess thy name. That's what the Apostle Paul has to explain the difference between us and Israel in Romans 10. He gives that whole thing. You can't, a mute can get saved. Why? Because in our program, the Apostle Paul says all you have to do is believe. Somebody can be sitting there and they're not even able to talk. And as soon as they receive that gospel, Paul said, I received it. All you have to do, look, salvation is so simple. No wonder if somebody goes to hell, it's going to be their own fault. The Lord made salvation so simple little children can understand it. And oftentimes children get saved before adults because once a child realizes, okay, I'm a sinner. It's this simple. You realize you're a sinner. And then, because he said Christ died for your sins. Okay? Can you receive this message then? Because do you believe Christ died for you personally? I sure do. Okay? Can you trust the fact that He died and He buried and He rose again? And Paul talks about how He shed His blood for you and you can put your faith in that shed blood on that cross. And that alone, He'll save you. And you know it is so simple. The moment you do that, people say, I'll save so and so, so and so, so and so. According to the Bible, you're saved as soon as you trust that gospel, you're saved then and there. That's why, like with me, I've heard people say, well you better know the date, time, stuff. Look, when I got saved, I was just so glad. I didn't know to look down at my watch and all that stuff. I just know this right here. I quit trusting my righteousness and I trusted His righteousness. I quit trusting anything I could do and trusted what He had already done. And then was I saved. And we've got to keep the gospel plain and simple. That's why I'm trying to show you this stuff so when we go out and preach, we're not mixing messages up. They don't have what we have today. He was preaching this. Watch what it says. Confess thy name and pray and make supplication before thee in this house. Then hear thou from the heavens and forgive the sin of thy people Israel. Who's he addressing in Acts 2? Israel. He said, ye men of Israel. And they're supposed to know this. It says, and bring them again. What are they wanting to do? They're wanting their land. You know what's going on today? They want their land. They're not going to get their land until they meet the stipulations here. All that fighting and all that stuff they're doing. Look, let me tell you what Israel's trusting right now. Their iron dome and their own weapons. Now people can say all that they want to about Israel and Hamas and everything else, but I've said it before and I'll say it again. You know what you need to be praying? That all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. Every one of them over there needs to be saved. We get this thing, you can get hard-hearted about stuff. If you let that news hard-heart... Look, we don't want anybody going to hell. You realize that? I hope you do. You don't want anybody going to hell. You want all, the Lord said, all men. You see, what we do is we categorize things with so-and-so killed this many, they're a little bit worse off than that, they just die and go to hell. The devil gets you in that attitude, and I'll tell you what, that'll give you a bitter heart. We better make sure we want all men to be saved. We want them all to be saved. You know what that do? That fix their heart. You know what that Bible says? When you trust the gospel of the grace of God, he says you are a new creature. Something brand new. The fact that there's never been before. The fact that the Holy Spirit of God comes on the inside of you and lives and abides forever. That's amazing. He seals you unto the day of redemption. So I don't have to worry about this body ever not having the Holy Spirit of God. That's what people need today. So here's what they have here. It says, verse number 26, It says, when the heaven is shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against thee in the tribulation, this will work. Why are they going to believe on his name? Well, it's going to be a drought for three and a half years, James said. And it says, yet if they pray toward this place, that's why David... I guess David prayed toward there too, but Daniel, he's praying toward Jerusalem. Why? In response to this, He knows what to do. It says, it says, man I just lost my place, I got so excited. If they pray toward this place, and watch this, confess thy name. Now do you have to do that today? Absolutely not. Well, we don't have to confess His name. This is what they're supposed to do. Watch this. It says, "...and turn from their sin when thou dost afflict them. Then hear thou from heaven and forgive the sin of Chase Massengill." Put your name. No, it don't say that. It says, "...of thy servants and of thy people Israel when thou hast taught them the good way wherein they should walk and send rain upon thy land which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance." What I'm showing you is, according to that right there, they had to confess his name. Now, you want to see it more? Watch this. Turn your Bible to Matthew. And I could show these to you all night long. Zephaniah, Zechariah, all through there. It's on the way. I tell you what, on the way, stop over to little book of uh should be Zephaniah yeah yeah look on the way to Matthew stop by Zephaniah chapter 3. Watch what's going to happen you see if you have to get this thing that has to do with In Israel's program the nation of Israel is going to be the head and all the Gentiles are going to come to the Lord through the nation Israel. And one day the Gentiles are going to call upon the name of the Lord too. So that's a blessing. They're gonna be able to call upon His name. Watch Zephaniah chapter 3 verse 9. It says, for then will I turn to the people of pure language that they may all call upon the name of the Lord to serve Him with one consent. And it even talks about not being ashamed in verse number 11. So on and so forth. So we got this thing about the name. Now turn to Matthew chapter 10. Matthew 10. If y'all can tell, I got off early, worked today, and drank a lot of coffee. So, I'm feeling good, man. I'll tell you what, having some rest makes a big difference. I'm going to tell you something, man. I don't want to complain about anything. I'm so thankful for work, but at the same time, having a little rest is a blessing. So when I get trucks coming back in, we're gonna get right back to work. But in the meantime, I'm glad to be feeling so good. Matthew 10, context, context. Verse seven is the kingdom of heaven is at hand. That means it's within reach, the healing the sick. Now watch verse 22, and it says, and you shall be hated of all men for my name's sake, for my name's sake. Watch this, but he that endureth to the end. Ladybug just dropped on me. Endureth to the end shall be saved. That's not your gospel. Watch this. Watch this. Verse 32. Verse 32. Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. See in that kingdom that confession is required. How come? We don't have time right now but the Lord talks about what's on the heart. comes out of the mouth. And see, that's one way he's able to tell them. He's able to tell whether those believers really believe if they'll confess him publicly. That's why whenever they were baptized with baptism of John, they came down confessing their sins. What's the main sin? Hey, kingdom's at hand. We're receiving the messenger. And whenever you receive the messenger, you receive the right message. And if they weren't baptized of John, John's manifesting Christ to Israel. And if they weren't baptized of John, they didn't receive the message. That's Luke 7. So you know what's going on? The name of the Lord's being proclaimed. And the Lord's saying, look, here's Jesus Christ. You better believe on His name. This is before the blood was shed. Watch how serious it is. Look at the Gospel of John. Look at John chapter 9. John chapter 9. You've got to realize a lot of people say John was written late, impossible. John chapter 5 said, there is at Jerusalem, talking about Solomon's porch there, and that was way before 70 A.D. Because he said, there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool which is called in the Hebrew tongue, Bethsaida. That was way before 70 A.D. All that stuff was destroyed in 70 A.D. All right, so John 9, watch this. John chapter 9. Watch this thing. What John's proclaiming, he's proclaiming that this is all before the cross. John 9, look at verse 22. These words spake his parents because they feared the Jews. For the Jews had agreed already that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue. What were people doing? They were confessing that Jesus is the Christ. They were saying he's the Messiah that Daniel prophesied about. That's like the lady over in John 4. She ran down the hill. I can just picture her running down the hill. She ran into town or wherever. She came back from saying, is not this the Christ? And they did not want people doing that. That's part of that kingdom message. Alright, watch John chapter 12, look at verse 42. You can save the Christ all day long, but if you don't believe the gospel of the grace of God, you're not saved. See right now, you're reading John, the gospel hadn't happened. When you're reading John, Christ hadn't died, he hadn't been buried, he hadn't rose again the third day. All that stuff is before Calvary. So they're preaching that kingdom is at hand. They had to receive him, not only that, but they had to publicly confess him, and Jesus said that, Matthew 10. Look at John 12, verse 42. It says, nevertheless, among the chief rulers, also many believed on him, but, watch this. This is sad, this is a sad verse. But because of the Pharisees, they did not confess him. Why? Lest they should be put out of the sin of God. You know what people do today? You believe a little bit different what so and so does. You don't go by the party line. You know what they do? All the same thing here. Well, you're not gonna be buddies with us then. Well, I'll just be buddies with the Lord. I don't care what you believe. Look, once you get to the place in your life where you accept truth over being buddies with somebody, it frees you in a way like you'd never believe. Why? Because you start seeing things in the Bible that tradition don't blind you to. You start reading the Bible at face value, what it says to who it's saying to. You don't have to be scared of one text in that Bible. Why? Because no matter where you read from, if you know where you're at, somebody takes, some pastor takes me over to Hebrew six. What about Hebrew six? It says, you know, they can not renew themselves under repentance and all that stuff. I just say, I'm not a Hebrew. That's talking to Hebrews in the context of somebody who's going through the time of tribulation. They're having to tell those Hebrews that Jesus Christ is better than Moses. All those things, he's having to reorient to them, and he's giving the amendments to the book of Leviticus. You know what Paul says to me? Paul tells me as far as that, nothing, Romans 8, nothing shall separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus the Lord. No angels, principalities, and powers, nor any creature, and I got written in the margin of my Bible, preacher. Because if anybody tries to separate you from the love of Christ, oftentimes it's a preacher getting up there saying, well, if you've ever done so and so, bless the Lord, you just think you're saved. No, I don't have to think I'm saved. I know I'm saved. Paul says we are always confident knowing. We're absent with the body. Look, one of these days I'm going to be present with the Lord. I'm going to tell you something. I know why. It's no arrogance on my part, no confidence on my part. All my confidence is in Christ. I wouldn't put one ounce of confidence on my ability to be able to hold myself. That's arrogant. I'm going to tell you something. That's an arrogant thought right there for somebody to think that they're keeping it. Well, you know, we're just keeping it. I couldn't keep it in my right pocket. I try to keep receipts and stuff in my pocket and Carla ends up washing them in the washing machine. I can't even keep up with my pocket knife half the time. So you see what's going on? Watch an example of a believing Jew believing on his name. Watch John 20. John 20. They have to believe on His name. Why? Because He said He'd be in their midst. They're supposed to hallow His name. Jesus Christ is Emmanuel, God with us. And they had to believe that He's God. You get a man over there, Thomas, started having doubts. And Thomas is a good example. So what did it take? They had to have faith in the scripture. There's a lot of similarities in program. They had to have faith in their scripture. Look, when they had to prove their works, salvation has never been by works alone. They had to have faith, but they had to prove their faith. Why? Because they have a man's faith. That's what it says over there in the Bible. With us, I'm living by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. Do you realize? You're not even, we talk about walking by faith. When you trusted the gospel, now you wonder how you get through some of these things. Because you're in Christ and you walk by his faith. Your little bit of faith tapped into his faith. Now you're living by the faith of the son of God. You ever wonder sometimes something happen and man, people say that's impossible and then all of a sudden you just start taking it to God in prayer? What's that? That's faith operating in your life. You don't give up on things. You ever notice a lot of these people, especially, and I'm not running them down, I want to see them get saved, but lost people are bad about just giving up on stuff. You know what I'm saying? You ever notice this, right? Well, I guess I'll just go pray about it. Some people just give up on things. I'm gonna tell you something, you're living by the faith of the Son of God. You have a completely different perspective that you don't even realize that you're tapping into because the Lord Jesus Christ is working things out in you. As you get more of that doctrine, He starts working those things out in you. So, they had to have faith though, but watch this thing right here. Here's doubting. They call him Doubting Thomas. Well, I tell you what, all of us doubt and all of them end up doubting some. But watch this. John 20, verse number... 26, it says, and after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them. Then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands, and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side, and be not faithless but believing, but what's he supposed to believe? It says, and Thomas answered and said unto him, my Lord and my God, he's saying Jesus is God. People say, well, Jesus never said he's God. Thomas said he's God. Jesus is God. Watch about the name now. It says, Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed, blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed. And many other signs. We don't go by signs. John is still a Jewish book, Jewish preaching it. The whole thing, signs, truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye might have life through his name. They have to believe on that name. Now look, I believe on the name of Jesus Christ, but there's more to your salvation. We believe in Christ. That's part of believing. I believe he came and he died and he buried and rose again. But with them, this is before the gospel, the grace of God was revealed. They had to believe on his name. That's why now when you read books like 1 John, that's that commonality. Let me just show you. We got a little time. So you don't think I'm just losing it here. Look at 1 John. Look at 1 John 5. Look, the kingdom, all that message that had to do with believing on his name, that he's the Christ. Those things are put on hold for the dispensation of the grace of God, but they come back. So John, when he's writing this thing, the first, second, third John, you can tell it's John's author. You read this thing, that was from the beginning and all these things. But John is given a whole thing that has to do with that kingdom message there. And look at John chapter 5. Look at verse 1. Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. That's not how you're regenerated. By the washing and regeneration, he says over in Titus, by the renewing of the Holy Ghost, how do you get that thing? By believing the gospel of the grace of God. Alright, watch this, because the issue is going to be, you've got to understand now, When the rapture of the body of Christ happens, the issue of the name is going to come back up because you've got to understand there's two Christ's. Christ, the Son of God, and there's an anti-Christ. Jesus is the name above all names. There's going to be another man come in His own name. And how are they going to be able to tell? 1 John is saying, how do you try the spirits? And he goes down through there, and one way you try the spirits, if they believe Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, all you got to do is test them and say, what do you believe about Jesus Christ? Does he come in the flesh? And then, are you doing the commandments? Because if they're not doing the commandments, let me tell you something, they're not born of God. How do you know? In the tribulation, what's going on? There's gonna be a man standing up there saying he's God and he's gonna sit in the temple of God and exalt himself above all the things that's above God. And you know what the commandment says? It said, have no other gods before me. You know what that thing's gonna do? He said, watch John. Let me show you how they're gonna test the spirits. Look at 1 John. And I'll give you verse 13 about believing on the name of the Son of God, and that's connected to their program. Look at 1 John 3, look at verse 10. They got to have a way to test the spirits because the wheat and the tares are going to be right in there together. It says, In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil. Whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. A preacher can't stand up and preach that today. I can't say if you don't love your brother, you're not saved. But guess what? Them, they can. 1 John 3.10, they can. How come? Because he's showing how the children of God are manifest and the children of the devil. And you know what he's saying? Over here, you've got to keep the commandments. Look at 1 John 3. I think it's in 3. Hey, let's just read 1 John 3. Look at verse number 22. It says, And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments. You can't claim that prayer of promise. That's their prayer. Wow, they're going to need those things just like David had in the Old Testament. They're going through a tribulational time. Watch this. And it says, "...and do those things that are pleasing to the sight." And this is the commandment that we should believe on the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another as He gave His commandment. Now we should love one another Today we know that, but that's not the same reason they do. Watch verse 24. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us by the spirit which he gave us. He said, you try the spirits and they don't have the spirit. They're not keeping the commandments. In this dispensation that's coming after us, he said, all you have to do, no matter what they say, If they're not keeping the commandments, they're not of God. Why? Because they're going to be up there saying that the Antichrist is going to say he's God. He's going to have an image and say anybody fall down and worship their image. Remember Revelation 13? Well, if they're keeping the commandments, They're not going to worship because the commandment says, don't worship any image. Alright, you take over there in the commandments and it says, thou shalt not steal. Well you know what there's going to be a temptation in the tribulation? To steal. Why? Because it said if any man take not the mark of the beast, he can't buy or sell. So you know what that's going to mean? They're going to have to trust God. And you know what God said over in their Gospel of the Kingdom? He said you can pray to give them the daily bread. And He said God will give them their daily bread just like He did in Exodus. Why? Because that's their program. Today I can pray for daily bread all I want to, but if I don't go out here and work, and make a living, unless one of y'all give me some bread. But you know what, in today's time, he said if a man will not work, neither should he eat. That's a different prayer promise than what they got. Why? If they're following what he says in those commandments, they'll be able to pray and God will give it to them. Why? Because they don't have long to live anyway. The end of the world's about to happen. Well now, look, you can prep all you want to and get MREs and all that stuff all you want to, but you don't know when the end's going to come. This thing may rock on, no telling how long. The rapture could happen tonight or it could happen 20 years from now, nobody knows. Preferably closer, but at the same time, the longer he puts the thing off, the more people can get saved. I want to see people get saved. What I'm showing you is, you see this thing? He said, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. The message didn't stop. See, Simon Peter's, that sermon needs to be read all together. He goes down through there and that's why he gets back to verse 37, 38. He said, Ye have crucified and slain. He gives them a murder indictment and they said, What must we do? They didn't say to be saved. He said, How to save yourself from this untoward generation. And he said, repent and be baptized every one of you in, watch this, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. You know what that is? They had to get down there publicly and get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. You know what that would say? If they got down there and got identified with the Lord Jesus Christ and they got that public baptism there, you know what that would do? That would say, hey, in front of everybody, we believe that He is the Messiah, and we realize what we did wrong, and as a nation, they can repent. He said, we. Now, all that stuff is so important, because as you come into Acts chapter two, if we're gonna be able to help people with these things, you need to know what's going on. He's addressing the nation of Israel. What we have today in the body of Christ, Paul hasn't even been saved yet, and all the mysteries that you have in Romans 2, Philemon, all those things about Jew and Gentile being in one body was unheard of. They are singling out Jews there because they had to preach to them Jews first, and whenever the Jews get right, all the Gentiles will be able to come to the Lord through the Jewish people. So you have that going on, and that's a good little That's a run down there on that thing. But once you realize that, you understand that we have to keep the gospel simple and right. You can't mix the messages. Now I believe the Lord Jesus Christ. Y'all know that. But you can't just say, well I believe Jesus Christ. I believe on His name. But what did He do? He died, he was buried and he rose again. You know what, if we're going to witness the children and stuff like that, you keep that thing real simple and you go right over there to Paul's gospel and you show them over there, you believe you're a sinner? Yes, I believe I'm a sinner. Most, look, these kids, they know more than people. I've had people, you tell them, are you a sinner? Well, you know, I always pay my bills on time, you know. I've been going to church since I was a little girl and they give you all kind of little stuff like that. The main thing is, do you realize and recognize that you are a sinner? You're sinning against the Holy God. You deserve hell. And once that child comes to that, all they have to do is receive that gospel that Paul preached in the moment that no matter where they are, They can be anywhere. And I like to tell you all that because, man, you got to know that people can get saved anywhere they are. That gospel can reach anybody, anywhere. That's what we're preaching. It's the right gospel, the grace of God. Hopefully that helped out a little bit. I know we didn't even get far, but we never do. We'll close out right there. Hey, Brother Tom, if you
