Douglas Fir wrote: Now, where is the guy who posted why the news item about thousands of Filipinos going nuts about a cross should be posted here on SA? I certainly don't hope that smoking MJ is something that Protestants are doing! Therefore, why do we have to read about it here? Troll |

s c wrote: John, maybe people are saved IN SPITE of such instruments that you had mentioned but they certainly are not saved BECAUSE of them. Big difference. God may use whatever He pleases as an instrument...consider the donkey in regards to Balaam...but just because someone is saved in an RCC service because they heard the word and because of the Spirit, doesn't mean that Christians should support the RCC church. As far as your judgment in regards to my intentions/heart...may God deal with you accordingly there. You wax poetic a lot but your discernment is at low ebb. Forget about what a psycho-logist told you years ago, better to heed God. Yes discernment is at a low ebb....as has been demonstrated by some on this site But there are still a few faithful who will obey Christ and His commandments. An amazing fact: in the first four centuries of the history of the church, no picture of Christ was used. These were the years when her most astonishing growth took place. Strange..the Apostles did not need pictures of Christ to convert barbarians and Greeks. The early church did not use pictures either to conquer paganism. They accomplished it by PREACHING THE WORD in the power of the Holy Spirit. Not by idolatrous rubbish!! |

Psalms Only wrote: Choir singing like hymn singing is just another notch on the journey to Liberalism. Hymn's are used to separate people from the Bible. The book which God wrote includes HIS ordained praise which is the Psalms. By using human contrived hymns you reject God's Holy Word and the churches do not use the praise of God recorded in the Bible. No where in the Bible are sinners instructed to manufacture their own version of the Bible nor their own version of praise. Choirs and Hymn's serve one function only that is human entertainment - the road to Liberalism, heresy and rejection of the Bible. |

"overly churchy and religious"From Dictionary. CHURCH, n. 1. A house consecrated to the worship of God, among Christians; the Lords house. This seems to be the original meaning of the word. The Greek, to call out or call together, denotes an assembly or collection. But, Lord, a term applied by the early Christians to Jesus Christ; and the house in which they worshipped was named from the title. So church goods, bona ecclesiastica; the Lords day, dies dominica. 2. The collective body of Christians, or of those who profess to believe in Christ, and acknowledge him to be the Savior of mankind. In this sense, the church is sometimes called the Catholic or Universal Church. ++++++++ RELIG'IOUS, a. L. religiosus. 1. Pertaining or relating to religion; as a religious society; a religious sect; a religious place; religious subjects. 2. Pious; godly; loving and reverencing the Supreme Being and obeying his precepts; as a religious man. 3. Devoted to the practice of religion; as a religious life. 4. Teaching religion; containing religious subject or the doctrines and precepts of religion, or the discussion of topics of religion; as a religious book." Yep he is quite right. |
