Is that what he said? Calvin knew what the Scripture teaches. Romans 9:6-13 "Not as if the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but in Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come and Sara shall have a son. And not only this but; when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of him that calleth It was said unto her,the elder shall serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob I loved, but Esau have I hated" God blesses his people with children, and thankful parents obey God giving them the sign and seal of the Covenant of Redemption, administered in the ordinance of ritual baptism. Parents are commanded to train up all their children in the way that they should go in hope for each one, but ultimately God is Sovereign in eletion. Calvin knew the difference between the visible and invisible Church. |

John Yurich USA[/AUTHOR. The only thing that Jesus will look at is that the individual standing before Him had received Him as their Personal Lord and Savior. You didn't find that in 1 John. |

Mike wrote: A matter of orderly steps. The trash needs to be thrown out before the garage can be cleaned and reorganized. Only complaining about the trash accomplishes little. As I recall from Scripture that has historically always began with the Church. I just recently read of faithful Jehoiada and his preparations. The trash in this case was Athaliah the daughter of Omri. Things had escalated to unbearable; but behind the scenes preparation was being made by the faithful and true priest and the Davidic heir Joash was under instruction until the appointed time. When the wicked was removed, Joash obeyed the Lord as long as Jehoiada lived, but when he died he killed his son the prophet. So much for conservative kings. |

Mike wrote: Bernie Sanders says: "This is a clear case of socialism for the rich and rugged, you're-on-your-own individualism for everyone else." Lest we be misled, remember Sanders is a self described socialist. His concern is not that socialism exists for the rich crony capitalists Obama favors. His concern is (in his view)that it isn't fair to the rest of us, whom he wants brought under socialism as well. May he and all his sympathizers fail miserably. So what you're thinking is put someone in office whose conservative, not a socialist, of an independent party affliation, someone who at least professes Christianity and we're good to go? |

Mike wrote: Small point maybe, but the Holy Spirit doesn't indwell corporate bodies. He indwells individuals. Ephes.4:4-6 "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."No libertarian view here. Christ has one Bride, the true Church are members one of another, not a foot here and an eye over there some place. Someone put it in these words to me resently, "if a part of the body is hurting the whole body focuses on that part, but today, what we have is so unnatural, that the hurting member is paid no regard to. It is like a body with leprosy that can't even feel its members." |
