I need no man to teach me, in one sense "But ye have an unction from the Holy One and ye know all things." I believe Jesus Christ is my Prophet who reveals to me by his word and Spirit, the will of God for my salvation. So I hear Mr. Calvin through those ears. I don't read this isolated quote out of the context of all that I know Calvin taught regarding election and what he himself experienced in his own household. I respect Mr. Calvin as a teacher sent by God. I knew of one thing he taught, that I have long disagreed with together with the WCF. I know he was not an immersionist. To immerse is not the only meaning of the word baptizo. There are other factors that the plurality of teachets, sent by God, have been used of Him, to teach me regarding the mode. In my life, He used D. Spencer to convince me from both the Old & New Testament of the proper mode laving or sprinkling and why. There were others teachers who have added to my understanding of this subject over the years. The Lord through the ordinary means in a variety ways has been my primary teacher for 31 years. Sometimes under the Ministry but more often through teachers in print, all of whom argued their doctrine from the Scripture. God has been very kind to me in this regard.

Is that what he said? Calvin knew what the Scripture teaches. Romans 9:6-13 "Not as if the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but in Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come and Sara shall have a son. And not only this but; when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of him that calleth It was said unto her,the elder shall serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob I loved, but Esau have I hated"
God blesses his people with children, and thankful parents obey God giving them the sign and seal of the Covenant of Redemption, administered in the ordinance of ritual baptism. Parents are commanded to train up all their children in the way that they should go in hope for each one, but ultimately God is Sovereign in eletion. Calvin knew the difference between the visible and invisible Church.

1 John 2: 4,5 "He that saith I know him and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whosoever keepth his word in him verily is the love of God perfected: thereby we know that we are in him."

John Yurich USA[/AUTHOR. The only thing that Jesus will look at is that the individual standing before Him had received Him as their Personal Lord and Savior.
You didn't find that in 1 John.

J. Y. When the people of Israel were waviering between two opinions because that vile man Ahab and his devil worshipping wife were high in place and the wicked walked freely on everyside, the prophet Elijah told them simply, "How long will ye halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God follow Him: if Baal then follow him. Read 1Kings 18 prayerfully. Read 1 John the test of true Christianity. If you seek the God of Scriptures face that is where you will find Him.

I just saw the most heart wrenching video made by a physically sick youth, he was deceived though he believed in God and angels. He died shortly after he made the video, and if he had no more light then the video evidenced, it was without the Lord Jesus Christ. I felt sick after watching it.

All of God's promises are embraced by faith in the veracity of God's word, it is impossible that He should lie. All his promises are yea and amen in Christ. Remember this promise will be made effectual only to the elect. These are best known to God who alone knows the heart. There is only one Covenant, with various administrations and that is the Covenant of Redemption. A Covenant Community is
explained in Ephesians 2:11-22. The Christian Church who is dependent on Christ's merit alone, relates to God through their Covenant Head, the second Adam, Jesus Christ who Himself was the Lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world. Rev.11:2 speaks of a Gentile Church who doesn't worship God by his appointment these are trampling under foot the holy city set apart for God's glory and man's good. God measures or seals all true worshippers as stated in Ezekiel 9:4; Rev.11:1; 14:1

Maybe this will make my point, as stated previously listen to www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=1227111518383.
I didn't hear it to the end because of an audio glich in my technology . I heard enough to know we have some substancial agreement here, and we both disagree with Jim's position.

I must say, that God's ways are not limited with us, as our understanding can be limited due to sin. He is able to make himself known and understood to his erring children.

I have no way of knowing without asking, so to clarify, I will ask. SA, does this mean you will no longer post News Stories on the Lord's Day or was Christ mass an exception to the rule? Was it
done this way last year too? It made me stop and rethink. How can you not offend when you have sermons on this site preaching contrary to one another about these things 1. the peretuity of the Christian Sabbath and the regulative principal of worship and 2. What is the basis for holy days not regulated by the Word of God.

I was stumbled, unless you've reconsidered and will not be posting News Stories on the Lord's Day just Scripture fom now on. I realize people use the sight who don't have the opportunity of spiritual conversation on the Lord's with others, but I had to reconsider what I need to do differently for my own conscience sake. Thanks for your concideration of this matter.

Last Lord's Day I read an account of the Church's season of prayer and fasting, for the purpose of confession of sin and thanksgiving. The Ministry had written a paper for posterity It was lenghtly, so that evening I concentrated on two of the catagories listed for confession of corporate sin 1. Neglect of the Christian Sabbath-sins against the 4th Commandment and 2.Neglect of Parental Duties in Child Training-sins against the 5th Commandment. These are the two positive commandments, for the preservation of true religion. All Scriptural holy days that Paul spoke in regards to, were regulated by the Scripture, Paul speaking regarding Christian liberty as the Church became One made up of Jew and Gentile allowed the Jews to keep OT holy days regulated by specific Scriptural command. The celebration of this pagan festival unregulated in the keeping of Christ's birth, (the day we do not know) as such by the NT is more heinious tomorrow
because, it is the Lord's Day. I fear at the
consideration of it.

Rev. 14:11-14 "And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth (there are two beasts mentioned: of the earth and of the sea, they represent different things) and he (another beast the second) had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exercised all the power of the first beast (of the sea) before him, and caused the earth and them that dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders so that he maketh fire come down from the heaven, on the earth in the sight of men. And deceiveth them which dwell on the earth by those miracles that he had power to do in the sight of the beast (of the earth); saying to them that dwell upon the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by the sword, and did live....keep reading

A matter of orderly steps. The trash needs to be thrown out before the garage can be cleaned and reorganized. Only complaining about the trash accomplishes little.
As I recall from Scripture that has historically always began with the Church. I just recently read of faithful Jehoiada and his preparations. The trash in this case was Athaliah the daughter of Omri. Things had escalated to unbearable; but behind the scenes preparation was being made by the faithful and true priest and the Davidic heir Joash was under instruction until the appointed time. When the wicked was removed, Joash obeyed the Lord as long as Jehoiada lived, but when he died he killed his son the prophet. So much for conservative kings.

Bernie Sanders says:
"This is a clear case of socialism for the rich and rugged, you're-on-your-own individualism for everyone else."
Lest we be misled, remember Sanders is a self described socialist. His concern is not that socialism exists for the rich crony capitalists Obama favors. His concern is (in his view)that it isn't fair to the rest of us, whom he wants brought under socialism as well. May he and all his sympathizers fail miserably.
So what you're thinking is put someone in office whose conservative, not a socialist, of an independent party affliation, someone who at least professes Christianity and we're good to go?

Warrant Officer John Jewel said: "The innocent always pay the bill." As I considered his statement, I had to ask myself if there is any such thing as innocense since the Fall, I concluded there is the pure spoken of in Titus as those who God has mercied for Christ's sake by the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Ghost. I believe this could be true of some leaving and some left behind. I believe that God has good intentions for Iraq in the not to distant future according to thr prophetic Scripture, but I fear for the west.

"This is a clear case of Socialism for the rich and rugged and your-on-your-own individualism for everyone else."

Thick as theives, I'd call it, as concerns what Peter calls the ungodly and the sinner 1Peter 4:18 in positions of government influence. Ungodly violaters of the first table of the moral law in their relationship to God #4 omission, and sinners which is the natural consequence of first table violations; second table violations of omission #5 then commission as regards #6-10 our relationship to other men. The form of godliness is in attending powerless assemblies who have grieved or vexed the Spirit, the power is for right-hearted men in the pulpit and civil places when God's Spirit does Deut. 32:36-36 as God has promised.

Small point maybe, but the Holy Spirit doesn't indwell corporate bodies. He indwells individuals.
Ephes.4:4-6 "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."

No libertarian view here. Christ has one Bride, the true Church are members one of another, not a foot here and an eye over there some place. Someone put it in these words to me resently, "if a part of the body is hurting the whole body focuses on that part, but today, what we have is so unnatural, that the hurting member is paid no regard to. It is like a body with leprosy that can't even feel its members."
