Since blasphemy is speaking evil against God, they will be hard-pressed to find something in Scripture doing it.
"BLAS'PHEMY, n. An indignity offered to God by words or writing; reproachful, contemptuous or irreverent words uttered impiously against Jehovah.Blasphemy is an injury offered to God, by denying that which is due and belonging to him, or attributing to him that which is not agreeable to his nature.
In the middle ages, blasphemy was used to denote simply the blaming or condemning of a person or thing. Among the Greeks, to blaspheme was to use words of ill omen, which they were careful to avoid.
1. That which derogates from the prerogatives of God. Mark 2." (KJV Dicty)
Of course in this definition Mike, we could direct folks to the attacks found upon Christ's deity, as we find in modern versions. But apparently on a thread about the definition of blasphemy, we are not allowed to address blasphemy?
An important point about blasphemy is that those who do not know God/Christ, (muslims and other reprobates) can either use the term itself in error, or literally "blaspheme" without knowing that they have, - such as Pakistani muslims do in this article.
