The deacons must not âgiven to much wineâ. âBe not drunk with wineâ. Christ was accused of being with the sinners. If you do drink a beer donât do it often, drink only one, and enjoy it slowly. It can be viewed as a gift from God. Your moderation and self control can bring Him glory, and can be an example to others. Now you canât be a Pharisee and can judge less people and will be less âholier than than thouâ. If you canât stop at one beer and you need one every night you shouldnât drink at all. May God help us to be wise and careful with this liberty. Yes, the tide is shifting. Perhaps we are realizing there are other things to worry about and that you can be pursuing holiness at the same time as having a beer once a week. If Iâm wrong may God help me to see otherwise.
Of course Revelation is for today. Can we not learn today about true Christianity through the letters to the churches, today?! And perhaps it will be soon that we enter the time of tribulation. After all at some point the future will be the present.
To Chase from Queen Creek. If you want to understand the trouble with James White interfaith dialogue I recommend listening to Usama Dakdokâs comments on it. There are some issues there that are concerning.
If wine is forbidden why is does the Bible say "given to much wine" in leadership qualifications? This may be overstated, but Jesus turned the water into wine- at a wedding. Strong drink is not permitted and drunkenness is forbidden. A little wine , emphasis on little, may be left to liberty in Christ. If you can't have a little, have none. Is this not the truth?
Tricky interview. It was not made clear that under the NewCovenant God has not given instruction to kill homosexuals. The distinction between Mosaic covenant and the New, must be established. The church is not national Israel. Also, turning to the crucified Jesus was missing. We all have perverse hearts, we all need the cleansing blood.
