This only hurts and offends. I can't see how these tours of comments would help us reach those ensnared in homosexuality.

" I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep" John 10:11

There is a foundational misunderstanding of the atonement that has been evidenced by many of the comments made here. The atonement removes wrath. The Bible never says it just makes it possible. There is no more wrath for those for whom the Son died. If He truly died for every single human being then there would be no wrath reserved for the final judgement.

"so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for him for salvation" Hebrews 9:28

No. I completely agree although, I think homosexuality should be referred to using the terminology in God's Word that being, a sin. The issue arises when it comes to providing that cure. Will he be preaching the true Gospel of Jesus Christ?

CAB said:
God has given us all choice, free will, and has done everything possible to save us.

Where does the Bible say this because I'm pretty sure it says:

because the mind set on the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God’s law, neither indeed can it be.
8Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

The flesh is not able and does not want to submit to God. It has a Will but that will is enslaved to sin ad Paul so frequently makes clear.

Oops. Posted that by accident. I wasn't finished. Lol.

The point being Jesus does not say you are not my sheep because you have chosen not to believe but says you do no believe because you are not my sheep. Therefore, using basic logic, if one is of Christ's sheep they will believe. If not, then they will remain just as blind as the Pharisees for without the Spirit of God one cannot discern spiritual truths (1 Corinthians 2:14) God picks his elect just as it is the shepherd that chooses his sheep, not the other way around.

John for Jesus said:

When Jesus says "I never knew you" do you believe there was ever a time God didn't know something or is "knew" to be taken in a different way then you are thinking? In Ephesians, He chose that believers would be holy and blameless, not that they would have to believe. Don't add to scripture and you will have a better understanding of the love of God.

The word used there in Matthew 7:21 is from the Word ginosko which in the biblical usage refers to knowing in the sense of a relationship, something personal. The very same word is used in John 10:27 where He says: "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."

He then continues to explain to the Pharisees the reason for their unbelief. Notice His surprising explanation.
*[[John 10:25-27 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name, these testify about me. But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

Romans 1:18-20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made. So they are without excuse.

Why does the adulterous man hide his evil affair? No one wants to get caught and suffer the consequences. That's what that particular Scripture is teaching. The point of Romans 1 however, is that every man is without excuse and will be punished for their rejection and hatred of the God they know exists. This was our same state until God saved us. No man seeks God! No man understands! (Romans 3:11)

CAB,
I'm not trying to offend you in any way but I must ask a question. When you get to heaven and your pagan neighbor goes to hell, what will be the difference between the two of you? Is it that you were not a God-hater and he was? How did you out of your wicked, sinful heart begin to love God and he didn't. I'm not just calling you wicked and sinful. We all were before the regenerative work of God. Here's what Scripture says about everyone:

Rom 3:10-12 As it is written, “There is no one righteous; no, not one. There is no one who understands. There is no one who seeks after God. They have all turned aside. They have together become unprofitable. There is no one who does good, there is not even one.”
You are assuming something about yourself different from the rest of the sinful human race and the fact is none would seek God if He had not first transformed or wicked hearts. Praise be to His great name!

John, you are not viewing these passages clearly. Let's analyze just one together. "For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers." Romans 8:29

Ok. Now who is predestined to be confirmed to the image of His Son? The whole world or a certain group? The object of the verb predestined is the pronoun those. Therefore, it deals with a specific group. Now what were the predestined to? To be conforme to the image of His Son. Is it possible to be predestined to be confirmed to the image of Christ but not be saved/regenerated by the power of the Holy Spirit? No. That interpretation would make no sense. In fact, Jesus says in John 6:39, This is the will of him who sent me, that of all he has given to me I should lose nothing, but should raise him up at the last day.

It is only those given to Christ by the Father that will be raised up on the lady day. No other group is involved.

Please don't refer to Joseph Smith or Muhammad as prophets, unless you mean false prophets since they both totally corrupted God's Word.

Well said Dr. Mohler! It still amazes me that given what these scientists know themselves about the complete absence of any transitional fossils, that they could still try to push the theory so forcefully. Give it up already. Lol.

The means. The answer to your question is that God uses means. Why have Pilate, Herod, and the Jews do what they did? Why not just bring Jesus down and pour out the wrath of God upon? I don't know but God decided to do it that way.

*[[Act 4:27]] NHEB* “For truly, in this city against your holy servant, Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together
*[[Act 4:28]] NHEB* to do whatever your hand and your council foreordained to happen.

Calvinism teaches that those who are truly saved will be sanctified and anyone claiming to be in Christ but walking in darkness is a liar. 1 John 1:6

CAB wrote:
insisting we can't be good and don't even try, that we owe God NOTHING, and that to try to obey what Jesus told us to do or to consider his teachings is larf, larf just a hoot.

This is called creating straw men. You are completely misrepresenting Calvinism. In reality What you are rejecting are your own false assumptions about Calvinism.
