All the Bible study and teaching we see happening in schools and churches - it can't be? 
"Bible Literacy" Hmmm Wonder what they think that is?
How many bishops ministers preachers and congregations read the Bible and DON'T RECEIVE/PERCEIVE THE TRUTH.
And what now we are going to blame the kids for not being biblically literate. 
The elect can read the Bible and receive the truth.
The liberals can read the Bible - if they actually bother - and receive moral decline and hot air. 
The papists have been reading the Bible for centuries and receive idolatry and blasphemy. 
Todays problem is as Jesus says too many nominal christians read the bible and receive the conviction that they are saved/can work towards salvation and HE DOES NOT EVEN KNOW THEM.
