Scott McMahan wrote: Organized religion over the last decade or so has become a merchandising machine designed to soak as much money out of members as possible. Christianity is largely a sales and merchandising machine using extremely sophisticated person tracking software packages to squeeze as much money out of rank-and-file members as they lurch from crisis to crisis. Eventually crisis mode catches up with you and people burn out. The crass merchandising of Christianity is a huge turn-off as people are bombarded with sales for books, CD, trinkets, videos, etc non-stop. Sounds like the money-changers tables that Jesus overthrew at the Temple. I think He was angry. |
