"John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:"The Holy Spirit guides the Christian into all truth.
John 8:31 If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
'IF' you continue in Christ's Word - the truth shall make you free. Thus the Word's prominence in Jesus teaching is highlighted for the disciple and this is to have great effect for His followers. FREEDOM.
Free from what? Satan, sin and death.
No longer the slave to sin.
Roman Catholics and Arminian free willers can't use this "Get out of jail free card" - They think they can do that by themselves. Sin to them is just a headache, a mild complication which they can overcome. But as Jesus teaches We are in bondage to sin and cannot free ourselves.
Thus the Word is prominent and effective in the life of the true Christian. Read and meditate upon this freedom key of Christ.
Psalm 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night
Psalm 119:148 Mine eyes prevent the night watches, that I might meditate in thy word.
