But this deception leads to churches which appear to be real to those who are in the congregations. They think they have real faith and are saved. Liberal churches are the modern manifestation of this false faith and false church. Arminianism is a more traditional manifestation of this phenomena. If you can convince the non-Christians that they are saved and faith is a human faculty then what you have is a "church" full of people who are in darkness and are malleable to receive any old religious baloney.

McDowell's theories are from such a source and aimed at the same source.

Basically McDowell and co do not really trust God. Indeed they cannot.

Satan creates many counterfeit religious organisations like RCC, JW's, Mormon's, Liberals et al. The religious theories they are fed sound almost feasible - But the true Christian quickly perceives the deception.

McDowell is tuning into the church of human belief and conviction which is easily led into false concepts such as human philosophies old or new which can destroy the "church."
