If we believe that God is in sovereign control of all present events, that we aren't wandering loose in the universe, we cannot conclude he has not intervened if he passes by.
Is sin a present event? Yes.
Is God in control of sin? No.
Is God the author of sin? No.
Is God responsible for mans sin? No.
Is man guilty of sin. Yes.

Does God elect all? No.
Does God elect some? Yes.
Does God have the ability to choose and apply the choice? Yes.
Does God do this? Yes.

Does God's Word teach that He has the ability of foreknowledge and predestination? Yes.

Does this mean that God has a perception of His creatures future which we cannot comprehend? Yes.

Does God make decisions based on future events? No.

Why?

Because this removes the control of God and places it into the hands of His creatures who are in darkness, and because of sin are not in control.

Because to take the sinner out of his wretched estate requires the intervention of God, the Holy Spirit.

If God then elects based upon a sinners decision, the sinner takes control and can boast over that correct choice.
Whereas the sinner of wrong decision can complain of a lack of ability in his being.

God has removed this inequality.

"President Obama on Friday lifted a ban on federal funding for international groups that promote or perform abortions"

Does this mean that American tax payers will be funding the murder of foreign babies?

Why?

It a tricky one, DJC49, but I can only tell you what I think, i.e. my opinion on it.

One for your brain cells to curdle over.

"From what has been before us in the previous chapter concerning the election of some to salvation, it would unavoidably follow, even if Scripture had been silent upon it, that there must be a rejection of others. Every choice, evidently and necessarily implies a refusal, for where there is no leaving out there can be no choice. If there be some whom God has elected unto salvation (2 Thess. 2:13), there must be others who are not elected unto salvation. If there are some that the Father gave to Christ (John 6:37), there must be others whom He did not give unto Christ. If there are some whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of Life (Rev. 21:27), there must be others whose names are not written there. That this is the case we shall fully prove below." "one of at least 200 people on flights who have been convicted under the amended law. In most of the cases, there was no evidence that the passengers had attempted to hijack the airplane or physically attack any of the flight crew. Many have simply involved raised voices, foul language and drunken behavior."

Frankly I think this is rediculous!
What did these "poor" prosecuters do for such incidents before the terrorism act???

Isn't "Desturbing the Peace" prescribed in US laws?

"An embargo on the memo until this morning made it impossible to get reaction from Christian right groups. "There will be pushback from the extreme right, who will see this as evangelical acquiescence," says Rodriguez........
.... But it's a no-brainer to push for a viable abortion-reduction strategy that goes beyond the wedge-issue sound bites."

The "extreme right" will see this as "evangelical acquiescence" - NO!

The REAL evangelicals will see it as just another LIBERAL acquiescence to Satan and iniquity!

I suppose "extreme right" equals Bible Believing Christians, in his estimation. Those who dare to know that Obama, and his cohorts, are reprobate liberal unbelievers!

A "no-brainer" might try to reduce the morally corrupt murder of infants.
OR even a real Christian already does.

PS Do you object to my calling this guy stupid??

"The majority of American adults pick and choose their religious beliefs to create, in essence, a “customized” religion"

No surprise here!

Denominations such as RCC, Anglican, JW etc have been applying this principle for centuries.

Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Complaining of their idolatry GOD stated............

Jeremiah 7:16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.

Jeremiah 14:10 Thus saith the LORD unto this people, Thus have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the LORD doth not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.

Jeremiah 14:11 Then said the LORD unto me, Pray not for this people for their good.

Jeremiah 14:12 When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.

"Robinson, an openly gay Episcopal bishop, had reacted angrily to the selection of Warren, who opposes gay marriage, calling it a "slap in the face."

Well if anyone had any doubts about where Warren stood, they are now confirmed. His feet are planted squarely in the mire of liberalism.
He may "oppose" sodomy but then so do the papists, that proves nothing.
As for Warren being conservative OR evangelical, Mike has that correctly covered below!

Warning to Warren/Obama types
"Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."
