“ Great Sermon! ”
I appreciate this sermon, having escaped myself from an emergent church. The seriousness of this problem cannot be understated as it is almost impossible to trust in any church once you've been in something like this. Because emergent see no one as having truth then everyone is included to an extent, so they extend fellowship and acceptance of any church or organization that calls itself Christian or simply talk about Jesus. That is why small group studies in my church included Rick Warren, Joyce Meyer, Joseph Prince etc. because they all do talk about Jesus. They also love mysticism and especially catholic mysticism. So they bring in things like contemplative prayer and retreats that are anything but Biblical. In fact on one women's retreat I actually saw a woman become demonically possessed with complete writhing on the floor. They also then believe in prophets for today so if someone has " a word" it's ok to say and they accept unbiblical gifts such as one woman who claimed to have the gift of being able to see demons. They then see faith healers and every kind of occultic activity is accepted. They are very trendy, as mentioned and often name their churches " the (something)". Our emergent pastor upon arrival at our church did this. It's more than scary and dangerous.

This is a most excellent sermon on trials because it is so well-rounded and covers everything one will go through as a Christian in this life. It leaves you with great comfort in the end.

Excellent! Thank you for being a true shepherd of the flock. Anyone who doesn 't believe in the inerrancy of scripture, nor the blood atonement of Christ cannot be a Christian.

Good but so much more could have been said, though i realize this was a brief interview. Martyn Lloyd- Jones and Francis scheaffer (sp?) both spoke up about him back in their day. Graham promoted the word of faith gospel, says mormons are Christians etc. it goes on and on. I thank God for these pastors who are discerning though.

I am just ever so grateful for these sermons. I will listen to them over and over and take notes. Jesus truly was the most loving, strong, wonderful person when he kept his mouth shut against this kind of abuse and he was completely innocent of all accusation. My heart loves Him all the more. who is like Him?

Yes, once a person is saved there is no where to call home on earth. The desire is constantly to be with christ and to leave everything here. To live for Christ ( or at least to try) is to be a weirdo to everyone else ever after, but seperation is the call. Like Christ's experience, it is a lonely path. Elisabeth Elliot has written an excellent book about this experience in her own life.

This is very good. I do not have a husband like this at all but i was a counsellor in a women shelter years ago. I still have a very great burden for abused children and am very obsessed with praying for them. I read constantly, as reflected in the comments, that churches rarely believe or support the women. Pastor jeff crippen also ministeres almost exclusively to this issue and may be a resource on how to get help if people need it. These men do not stop, are not repentant, no matter how much they say it.

Thank you Helen, for your comment which helped me to find this very good sermon. I have found in my Christian walk that waiting and cultivating patience are the hardest things.

“ Great Sermon! ”
This was an excellent sermon on one of my favorite proverbs. I wished he would elaborate on how to proceed in a church when this is happening( only one side being listened to and the other ignored). I have read that an abusive characteristic of a church or pastor is favoritism amongst it's members. I imagine not listening to both sides of a story can be considered the same. Marginalizing is definatley a form of abuse. I think this wouldn't occur if this proverb were heeded. Thank you for addressing this neglected passage of scripture.

Sermon:
Jesus Before Pilate

“ Great Sermon! ”
I really appreciate this exegetical sermon. There was no personal application it was just all about Jesus and mostly about his humiliation. I always see the great, great love of Christ when I think about how deeply humiliated his earthly life and crucifixion were. And He did it all willingly for sinners like me. I didn't know it was possible to feel pity for Judas, but I did. I think highlighted in this sermon is the deep wickedness of the Pharisees over his. And today you still see the Pharisees sending out spies to bait them, and tell lies about them if that doesn't work and they will always find a Pilate to go along with the marginalizing and " death" of the saints. Jesus never sought their company unless invited. Really made me think again. Thank you.

A very excellent and once again, interesting sermon. So rich, you really do need to listen to it over and over. I have a new appreciation of Noah's faith and God's faithfulness despite the instruments He has to work with.

I second the excellent comment. Very thought provoking and interesting sermon. The story of hagar always bothered me, as i never understood what the blessing was for her. This is a giid explaination. I also find it interesting he says it's never a good idea to move east. Indeed. I had actually heard another person mention this out of the Bible. Oh, bitter, bitter pill it is. Also bitter is to suffer from your poor reactions to others evil behavior, but there is no exemption from that either.

This is a wonderful series. I am enjoying it so much and learning so much. Pastor Baucham has a very high view of God and it is had not to have one in ourselves when we listen to him. Always very humbling when we see life is about God and His worship and not about us and not about being free of even our oppressions we want to be free of.

My heart was so heavy this morning and i listened to two Voddie baucham sermons, this being the second one and i felt the weight lift off me and joy fill my heart, and a fresh view of God again, and i wept into my lunch plate. So grateful to God for raising up men like this.
