Deep treasures Treasures through the sermon. Really good
knowledge about the treasures presented in the sermon. I like the comparison of scripture with scripture and draws it out to our benefit. Thank you
Sound Biblical Preaching This man is always a blessing to hear preach because he always conveys a message so simple and that goes right to the heart of the gospel. There is probably not 10 preachers in the whole world in this day of modernism that preach better.
Ron Cooke stands on the Rock of Biblical Truth A message that points the way to Christ by using the Word in all it's simplicity and in all it's power. We are reduced to the realization that there is nothing within us that is worthy of God but that we can indeed be delivered from ourselves by faith in Christ.
Self Esteem rather than Fall of Adam Message shows the error of modern day evangelical churches who build up man through self-esteem teachings which contradict the biblical teaching of depraved man born in sin from the fall of Adam.
The Old Path Fortner states "Our hearts sincerity will not atone for sin. Your hearts sincerity will not satisfy Divine Justice. You must have an alter of sacrifice by which justice has been satisfied to find acceptance with God and that is Christ the Lord."
It seems he is saying here it is not about us or our efforts but rather about God and his sacrifice that we look to. Grace rather than works.
God Reigns We see the modern "church" implore to "Come to Jesus" by walking up the aisle and then when the going gets tough just as eagerly send us to the "Christian Counselor. Fortner rightly points out how guilty we are as believers to show the same lack of faith in the promises of God's Word which is the true rock which we can stand on in our greatest trials.
Message with Biblical Wisdom Fortner speaks to the need to learn at the "house of mourning" which teaches us spiritual value in so many aspects of our life. Also the message he gives early on about the funeral and how sobering it should be to us especially those that are lost to eternity regardless the universal denial of this truth at funerals.
Ron Cooke a Sound Preacher I think it was Pink who said that humility is best exampled in the way a person exalts Christ. Ron Cooke over the years in his service for the Lord is a fine example of that.
Ron Cooke's Biblical Message Ron Cooke is a very sound preacher and he brings much faith and much research in his messages and written works. This man is tireless in his efforts to bring God's light to the world. This message was a blessing to me and is much needed.
Refreshing message What a blessing to know that this message is online and can be spread to the far ends of the earth because Mr. Cooke is so faithful in his life to always bring the light of Christ in a straightforward way.
Free grace or religious works A message that rightly calls hearers to look to God and believe on him rather than follow the Papists and Free Willers to Hell. Fortner is that rare man in this modern world who suffers the reproach of Christ because he does not preach "theology" or compromise.
Mr. Fortner can't help us! It quickly becomes apparent in listening to Mr. Fortner that he himself is of no help because he suffers the same weaknesses of the flesh as the rest of us, and this by his own admission. He speaks of no traditions and offers no psychology and uses no balloons and whistles to entertain us at church. It is such a stark contrast to the churches of the day and yet the message is such that we are all the more driven towards Christ and the God's word. "Our help cometh from the Lord......"
Brian Bradley defends the Gospel In defense of the Gospel Mr. Bradley clearly distinguishes the difference between Rome/ecumenical babble and God's word thus driving us to Christ and away from man centered theology. Not your normal three ring circus church but instead God honoring.
God centered message! Mr. Fortner exhorts those called of God to always "preach Christ crucified". In this day of the bulk of professing Christianity so caught up in man-centered activity it is so refreshing to hear a sermon like this one. The power rests with God Almighty and not with our human effort and that is the message that is so humbly conveyed.
