This message truly addresses what really matters. To me, in the first part of the catechism, for believers to glorify God means to be obedient disciples/followers/imitators of Jesus Christ whilst we are in the land of the living. Ecclesiastes 12:13 puts it succinctly: "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." After the Lord calls us home, we can enjoy Him forever, in Eternity, at the right hand of the father. |

The answer of course is no. John Lennon is dead. Jesus Christ, on the other hand, LIVES ON! |

Bringing the Gospel to the youth. Sir:
Praise God that you took the courage to tell young people about the importance of committing to Jesus Christ now, in their youth, and wait not a moment longer, so they do not end to waste their lives on idolatry and foolishness. This is a vital message! As it is written in Ecclesiastes 12:1-7. |

Excellent exegesis of an often misread scripture The message brings to my mind such passages as Lamentations 3:40, Psalm 139:23 and II Corinthians 13:5 which exhort us to see whether we truly believe. I realise there are time constraints but please try to avoid cutting off the closing prayer--listeners who were not at Emmanuel Church that Sunday might have benefited much from hearing it. |

A big challenge to all husbands and fathers. This was a very convicting message, the real meat of the Word. Hard but vital lessons here. One way we can reduce the incidence of abdicators among us is to mentor our sons in the ways of the Lord, starting early, long before marriage and parenting, using positive Godly male role models. |

Please correct the audio file. Please note that this soundtrack is identical to the one entitled The Testimony of Our Conscience dated 06 June. Please, if you are able, replace the MP3 with the 1 that goes with Rev. Watts' message on Let Not Your Hearts Faint . Thank you. |

Amen, we MUST be on guard! Spiritual conditions are similar where I live, i.e. religious and superstitious strongholds abound here as well. But we need not ask God to take us out of this situation, but rather to give us strength to STAND [up for Jesus Christ] in it! Remember He put us here to testify of Him among the majority lost in our midst, wherever we are! |

So true. Spot on. i agree 100% that there is hypocrisy in (a) us individually and (b) the body of Messiah overall. But might i suggest that rather than our simply condemning the hypocrisy in our home church, perhaps we can ask God how He would use us in the reformation process? |

i relate to this 100% The letter from the dead addict to his wife was utterly heartbreaking. i may not be a drug addict, i am codependent, but i am no better off than that man, and feel just as desperate. i have been hooked on chaos, confusion, disaster and disorder. The bottom line is ALL addiction is idolatry, ALL idolatry is sin and ALL sin is lethal, fatal SAVE FOR THE MERCY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST WITHOUT WHOM NO ADDICT HAS ANY HOPE WHATSOEVER. |

Genesis Chapters 1-3 in Hebrew. This is the voice of Abraham Shmueloff, a now deceased Jewish believer in Yeshua [Jesus] upon whose heart God placed the desire to record the entire Jewish Bible (Tanakh, Old Testament) in the original Hebrew. |

Great Sermon! The fear of God is the [very] soul of godliness. The mature man of God to whom Pastor Martin alluded early on in the message was Prof. John Murray, author of Principles of Conduct: Aspects of Biblical Ethics from which the quote derives. He was still alive at the time Dr Martin preached this sermon, and passed away 5 years later. |

Spot on (sadly)... To me, Rev. Faust's eDoc entitled He Women Who Must Rule presents the tragic consequences that result when cowardly men abdicate. It is no surprise that so many males, myself included, have reneged on their responsibilities as coverings for their families: so it was with the first man, Adam. Of course the only man who NEVER abdicated in any way was Jesus. Like kings who give up their throne, men can NEVER return to their position of leadership UNLESS a trustworthy and credible advocate vouches for them and restores them there. Christ alone has such authority. Therefore, those of us who have been sissified men must needs humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord, confess our sin, repent of it, and throw ourselves upon His mercy. |
