Great Sermon! Dr. Cairns ends and sums up this video with the words, "they get there (to Heaven) on the same ground as anybody else: on the sole merits of the blood and righteousness of Jesus Christ, freely made over to their account by the sovereign grace of God."
This is great news! People don't need to be born again, or hear and believe the Gospel, or repent, to enter Heaven!
Gods grace is more than sufficient to cover a multitude of sins including abortion and he is able to restore that which has been lost. I know because He did it for me. When I was young 30 years ago, my girl friend got pregnant and had an abortion. I know that I have been forgiven but the scars remain. Yet God blessed me with a beautiful girl when I was 47 years old through the gift of adoption. It is never too late for the Lord. I still carry that scar with me but now I also have the privilege of raising a beautiful little girl because of the God of 2nd chances. I pray this young lady will know the grace that our Lord extends to even those who have had abortions. He is able.
JSC wrote: I noted in the bible I have been reading Ephesians chapter 2 Paul tells them they are saved by grace through faith..... I also noted in 2 Corinthians 3 Paul tells them we are changed from one glory to another as we become more sensible of Christ denoting growth and progression..... I have not read where people are eternally condemned for such things as cowardess.
Perhaps, but Rev 21:8 mentions "the fearful". Matt 25:24-25 also speaks of an unrigheous "fear" of the lord. Could this be the damnable "cowardice" that getreal from earth is referring to?
Great Sermon! This is one of the most effective sermons on how to approach marriage and the dangers of recreational dating. However, note that he misrepresents the Law's view of premarital sex: It does NOT constitute automatic betrothal. Though the seducer must pay the girl's father the bride-price and offer to marry her, the father has the option of taking the cash while declining to give his daughter. Again, this reinforces the principle of headship which the preacher, otherwise, so strongly presses home.
Added note: This listener is confusing two different scenarios.
