Great Sermon! Thank you for your teaching all this I thought you did a fair job of representing various views, I am a postmill however I found your exposition useful. Here's my suggestion for thinking through eschatology, remember the structure of resurrection and the already not yet. Christ was raised, resurrection came into the world with new creation, and there is a consummation. Virtually every statement about the kingdom in the New Testament and the Old Testament for that matter regarding the new covenant, is a growth image.
Great Sermon! Dr. Morecraft,
Thanks for the word on this passage. I liked your sermon a lot and agree with you. Pro Rege!
One thing to clarify is that Mt Zion was not the location of the temple, rather Mt Moriah was:
2 Chronicles 3:1 - ‚ÄúThen Solomon began to build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to his father David, at the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.‚ÄĚ
2 Chronicles 5:2 - ‚ÄúThen Solomon assembled to Jerusalem the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the fathers‚Äô households of the sons of Israel, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.‚ÄĚ
