Great Sermon! Thy word is truth. .....
Brother, if the kjv is all you need than by all means. ... use it. I pray it blesses you
To be honest, the argument for kjv only is so absurd that it's not even worth arguing about. |

Great Sermon! Great work guys, The kjv only point of view is ridiculous and No one with even the slightest bit of understanding in regards to textual criticisms would hold to that view. It's borderline cultish. Here is another great refutation from a knowledgeable pastor. The Myth of the King James Only http://subspla.sh/1hZbAnD |

Great Sermon! Great discussion guys. Sadly Steven furticks problems are much deeper. He has an uncanny ability to read himself into every biblical passage. He has no idea how to rightly divide the word of God. If you want to know more about him check out Chris Roseborough 's website. Www.fightingforthefaith.com Chris is a Lutheran so we as Baptists would disagree with his stance on baptism, but he is a great theologian and he had documented elevation church for years. What pastor furtick says and does on a regular basis will blow your minds |

Great Sermon! I am a fundamental Baptist now, but I came out of the Nazarene holiness movement. I still believe very much in holiness, but I believe Steve is absolutely right on this one. We have to teach law in relation to the gospel. As you mentioned, law is a heart problem and no matter how hard we try, we remain sinful and never move away from our need for the gospel. It's not a matter of teaching touch Feely. .. It's a matter of truth. You can teach the youth about do's and don'ts and tell them to do it because God said so, and what you end up with apart from the gospel is a bunch of "moral" kids who grow up, live what we call a moral life, and die in their sins and go to hell. Apart from the Gospel we are all lost. Every part of the law should drive us back to the gospel as Paul says, grace is not a license to sin and I believe scripture is clear that those that have a new relationship with Christ have a new relationship to sin. I believe in holiness but we better be careful with it lest we get puffed up with pride each of us, no matter how sanctified, never move away from the gospel. It should be the main focus of every aspect of our lives. It should be what drives us |

agreed Your assessment is spot on in my opinion. On a positive note... I have heard rumors that Mr. Walker had been attending Grace Community Fellowship under the leadership of Johnny Mac. I can't confirm that, nor does it necessarily mean anything, but its a small.glimmer of hope that Paul might have heard the true Gospek and possibly repented. But who knows .... Only time will tell |

Great Sermon! Good overall message. Driscoll however, is another story. He was caught flat out lying about the strangefire conference. He claimed his books were confiscated by security, but you can go on youtube and see a video of him clearly telling security that the books were his gift to them and that he wished for them to take them and do whatever they'd like to with them. Driscoll flat out lied and was caught. Doesn't sound like a man seeking unity. He is a pastor in the public spotlight so he needs to publicly confess and repent. His strangefire appearance seemed like nothing more than a PR stunt to promote himself and his book. Love the program guys.....keep up the good work |

Great Sermon! This was a pretty good lesson, I am glad that your church is willing to look at tough issues such as election when the vast majority of churches gloss over it. I am confused about your view of limited atonement. Could we not argue that all true branches of Christianity whether Arminian or Calvinist truly believe in limited atonement because they teach that only those that are born again receive salvation? If we were to hold the position that atonement was not limited wouldn't that view lead us to universalism? Also I'm not sure I'm grasping the idea that election doesn't automatically seal the lost soul to hell. If I'm forced into a food line and the server has the option to give me steak or chicken, and he doesn't give me steak, then by default, logic tells me I'm getting chicken whether I want it or not. I see the tension throughout scripture between election and whosoever.... Its a struggle but I believe that there has to be a logical systematic way of looking at it. God is not the author of confusion. Keep up the good work and continue to stand on the Word of God. |

Great Sermon! I followed the Strange Fire Conference pretty close and I agree with what MacArthur was trying to accomplish. However, I tend to agree with you guys, he did paint with too broad a brush. I do not agree with charismania at all, but I'm willing to admit that there are two distinct camps in the movement and MacArthur failed to recognise the difference. There is a big difference between the theologically sound Pentecostal or even reformed pastor such as Piper, and a Benny Hinn or Todd Bentley and I don't believe it was fair to lump them together. It is also important to note that "Pastor" Driscoll was caught flat out lying. His appearance was nothing more than a pr stunt. He is caught on camera telling the security to take his books as a gift. Driscoll needs to repent |

Great Sermon! I'm assuming this was written as satire in order to expose the hypocrisy of abortion? That's what I got out of it anyway |

comment to theresa Theresa, I used to firmly hold to a pre trib position myself, but I no longer do. If we are to be honest with the text, all of the verses that you quoted can easily, be applied to the wrath of God in final judgement. Jesus did save us from wrath, he saved us from hell. The only way to read these verses and see any different would be to read into the text a preconceived idea such as the rapture. If you were to read these passages without ever knowing of a pre trib rapture, you would automatically come to the understanding that the Word is speaking of the final judgement... Of a christless eternity in hell. Not trying to debate you or anything like that...just asking you to put down your pre trib glasses, as I had to do, and look at those texts again. I was a HUGE left behind series fan, and still am.... But we have to go where scripture takes us. God Bless you sister |

fantastic discussion Fantastic discussion guys. Thank you for doing your best to remove presuppositions, and search for truth. Too many well meaning people can't see past their denomination or theology in order to discover these types of truths. |

hmmm part 2 Because the internet and radio are used to promote evil things such as pornography, fornication, hedonism, etc., then using your logic, I should disregard your message ad worldly, and lacking a fear of God. Thus, everything that
You said from lecrae on, can easily be said about your radio program because of the vehicle in which you choose to deliver it. Doesn't seem fair does it.
I very much respect your program, and I have listened to you many times before, but I have to disagree on this one. Your overall message about culture was spot on, but let's not stereotype please. After all, the old hymns that you sang as a child were once considered contemporary. I bet the oldpreachers of your youth were screaming for the church to get back to the glory days of real worship music, the Gregorian chants! :) |

hmmmm Mr Swanson.
I must say that I do understand the message that you are trying to convey, and it is very much true; up to a point. I agree with everything that you said about Carrie Underwood, but when you got to Lecrae, with all do respect sir, I believe your point fell apart. Lecrae uses rap as a vehicle to reach the youth if this country (including me), and he does a very good job at it. All of the things that you stated that he didn't rap about, he does rap about in other songs. Sir, he cannot rap the entire bible in one song. Lecrae also preaches, teaches, and makes short movies to desperately try to reach the youth, he has blessed me in more ways than I can ever explain.
I understand exactly what you are trying to say about culture, I get it, I really do, but your argument falls apart, and here is why. You pretty much have stated that lecrae, because he uses rap as his vehicle praise God, conveys a message that he does not promote the fear of God. The problem is, I can easily use the same logic and flop the scenario on you. I am listening to you right now on my computer via the internet, I can also listen to you on the radio. This is the vehicle that you have chosen in order to get your message out. Because the internet and radio are used for so many evil things |
