“ Great Sermon! ” Good sermon but one question how can women can be deacins in church when the qualifications in 1st Timothy 3 states the they musts be husbands of one wife
The modern translators widen the meaning of word Fornication is simply sexual relationships between 2 single persons -sexual immorality can has a broader meaning this is why it is used Jesus said Fornication only and not if the wife or husband departs. The disciples said if this is the only reason we can put away our wife’s then it is better not to marry simple even a child can understand this all other reason is false teaching and contrary tithe scriptures
“ Great Sermon! ” Good sermon but have to diiagree with your exception clause the only cause is fornicatoon and not ADULTERY like most congregations teach all bibles except Geneva Bible uses the word Fornication which according to the English dictionary is sexual activity between single persons. and Paul does not permit the beliveing Hisband or wife to remarry if their spouse departs he uses the word bondage (slavery ) they are free from their duties towards this person and are free to worship the Lord freely without conflict from the unbeliever . This is confirmed in 1 Cor 7 :39 A wife is bound while her husband lives only death only break that bond and not Adultery

This is good news but as Christians we must get our theology right otherwise we will lead people astray. The Lord Jesus only allowed putting away for Fornication only -which is commuted by single persons according the dictionary and in the same passage Adultery which has a different meaning is committed when you marry someone who has been put away from their husband and wife

I am not surprised that she is confused and who can blame her , we must point our fingers at the men who have not contended for the faith once delivered to the saints and taught Titus 2: 5 to women in their congregations. It is a shame for a woman to hold such a position. If this women is concerned about this then she is going to have a problem with believers or non believers saying the Lord prayer. “ Great Sermon! ” Interesting Sermon, in other version of the bible the word used as an exception is Fiornication and not Sexual immortality which has a more broader meaning Fornication is a sin between single engaged person
I urge you Brother to do some research on when Divorce was permitted in your country. In the UK in the 1600/ 1700 it could only be done by the rich and by act of Parliament . In 1857 the law was changed to alllow for Divorce for Adultery (wrong reason ) and the flood gates have opened since. The truth is that man has changed the law of the land over the last 260 + years in order to undermine the teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ and destroy what God has joined together. The disciples said to Jesus if this is the only reason that we can put away our wife it is better not to marry !!!
If the law on Divorce was not changed and we held to the teaching of the early church you would not of been able to give the grounds for Divorce that you mention in the sermon.
It is a sad state of affairs when unbelievers agree with the marriage for life and in sickness and in health till death do us part
“ Great Sermon! ” Some good point in message but need to realise that the only reason why divorce is allowed is because the government of the world changed the law to accommodate it. In UK divorce was only allowed for the general public in 1857 so saying Divorce for Adultery is OK is not true. The Lord Jesus said Fornication is the only reason and not Adultery we christian have accepted the Doctrines of Men. The Philippines have only recently allowed for Divorce so we need to check our theology before agreeing accepting abytbing
“ Great Sermon! ” There we're some good parts in the sermon but I pray that more preachers ,would do more research of their own into Divorce.
firstly the only reason that The Lord Jesus gave as an exception is Fornication !! Sexual single persons not fully married and NOT Adultery "sexual immorality has been used to change the original meaning this is the doctrines of Men, when you change one word then it changes the whole meaning of the sentence.l"
The other issue is that confirms that the interperatation is not right is that most Goverments have introduced laws in order to allow for Divorce for one or many reasons .

Before the 1600 s in the U.K. It was nearly impossible to obtain a Divorce unless you went to Parliament and then in 1857 U.K. Law was changed to allow for Divorce.
All the preaching that is done by ministers would be.null and void if the law of the countries was not changed (tEg : The Philipines only just allowed for Divorce)
Diivorce is a destroyer of church, family and state and the sad thing is that Christians have been deceived and make Adultery the unpardonable sin. Remember the women found in Act of Adultery, The Lord Jesus said neither do I condemn you go and sin no more . But most so called believers with their self righteousness would want her stoned
“ Great Sermon! ” I agree with most of your sermon but not with the comment about there is no scripture that states that after a divorce that the couple are no longer one flesh - how can we dismiss Mark 10: 11 - 12, the our lord Jesus, states that you commit adultery if you divorce your husband or wife and marry another.
